Chapter 11: Deep Slumber

Darwin stepped into the underground lab, throwing the unconscious Syasya on the floor. The mother rushed to her daughter, holding the girl in her arms. She glared angrily at Darwin.

"She is not your daughter and you are well aware of that," the professor muttered.

"She put up quite a fight. Those experiments paid off," Darwin reported.

"Let's reprogram her. Putting a human value into her is too much," the man said.

"You played your part pretty well," the mother muttered angrily.

"Be quiet, Nathalie. Lock her up, Darwin," the professor

Darwin grabbed the woman and threw her into a cage. She sat in a corner quietly obeying them. She watched as Darwin placed Syasya into a capsule. He connected electrical nodes on some parts of her body. The professor started to press some buttons on a large keyboard.

"We need to get more chemicals," the professor stated.

"Why don't just replace her memory chip?" Darwin asked.

"Experiments from Project DIYANA do not work that way," the professor explained.

"Also the reason why she had to take a number of drugs to retain her form," the male robot said casually.

"If you understand that much then do as I say," the professor said.

"Alright, prof," the yellow haired muttered.

He flew off into the dark night. He reached a drugstore where he searched for the needed drugs. As he was busy searching, he sensed someone was watching him. He smirked and stared at his own shadow. He jumped away when his shadow tried to stab him. He turned to see the shadow manipulator behind him. Fang looked furious and he knew why. The boy was the first person to know about Syasya. Darwin knew Fang cares deeply for her.

"Where is she?" Fang demanded.

"I will never tell...that is, unless you can beat me," Darwin replied calmly.

"I will," the raven haired muttered, charging in.

Gopal, Yaya and Ying had gathered at the Kokotiam as requested by Boboiboy. Ochobot was with him. They all waited for him to speak up. Boboiboy looked very serious. Yaya and Ying knew that something was up.

"It's about Syasya," he started.

"Okay. What about her?" Ying asked.

"She's not really a human..." he explained. "She is a robot built to complete one mission."

"Only one?" Gopal was confused.

"Yes. To steal our power watches and take Ochobot," the leader of the team continued.

"No way! She's too kind to do that," Yaya protested.

"She was programmed that way. Underneath that girl we know, is a deadly machine..." Boboiboy explained.

"You mean to say the robot we fought once was her?" Ying assumed.

He nodded and said "She could be. We haven't seen her real form yet."

The air around them was tensed. Syasya's smiling face flashed into Boboiboy's mind. He bit his lower lip, clenching his fists hard. He didn't want to accept it, but seeing how the house was in wreck, he knew no human being can do such a thing. Syasya was really something else. He was jealous, at first, because Fang knows a lot about her. Now, he just wanted to stop this nonsense. He never wanted to see his friends getting hurt ever again. He wants Ochobot to be saved. A hand suddenly touched his. Boboiboy turned to the owner.

"Syasya is a kind girl. She helps out a lot around here, Boboiboy," Ochobot said, looking sad, "We have to save her."

"We have to get Fang and start searching for her," Gopal suggested.

"Fang is searching for her. He just updated with me. He's at a drugstore that was robbed last night," Boboiboy explained.

"Let's go there then," Yaya insisted.

All of them nodded to each other and proceeded to the drugstore located north of Rintis Island. When they got there, Fang was standing in front of the debris of the building. He was quiet and his stare was lowered. Boboiboy tapped his shoulder and he flinched.

"I lost..." he muttered.

The team noticed that he was not wearing his power watch. It could only mean one thing: it was taken away. No scars or bruises were visible on Fang's body so they could not make out how he had lost. Fang fell to his knees.

"I failed..." he muttered again.

"No you didn't! You must have put up a good fight," Boboiboy comforted him.

"He was too fast. I couldn't keep up. Before I know it, my watch was already snatched away from me. He was too fast," Fang repeated.

"Speed is my forte. If we encounter him again, I will fight him," Ying volunteered.

The raven haired shook his head and replied, "We won't be seeing him for a while. He said that they were planning something big and we will see Syasya after one week."

"Really?" Yaya asked.

"He added, 'In the likely that she remembers all of you...'," Fang continued.

"Well, then, we just wait, but we won't let them have it their way," Boboiboy decided.

"You mean we're fighting them?" Gopal asked, intimidated.

He nodded and continued, "They are after Ochobot and our watches. We have to prevent that, so we're fighting..."

Yaya and Ying turned to look at each other. Boboiboy's clenched fists were shaking. They understood that he didn't want to fight someone he cares about. They did not wish to fight Syasya as well. They had to come up with another plan instead.

"What if we try to convince her first?" Yaya suggested.

"Yeah! There's gotta be a way to prevent this!" Ying agreed.

"We meet tomorrow noon at Tok Aba's Kokotiam..." Boboiboy decided, turning to Fang, "For now, try to get some rest..."

They parted thier ways after that. Boboiboy invited Fang to stay at his house. The raven haired accepted the offer because he had something to discuss with the said boy. Ochobot prepared some tea for them as Fang took a bath. Boboiboy waited for him, sitting up on his bed. Fang came out in a pair of boxers and a dark singlet. At the moment, Boboiboy could finally see the scars resulted from his fight with Darwin.

"Do you have something really important to talk about?" Fang asked.

"Not really. It's just...I care so much her, it's sad to know that she was just pretending..." he muttered.

The raven haired and said, "I don't think she was pretending. She loved being around us. If she really wanted our watches and Ochobot, why didn't she just steal them or snatch them from us?"

"Right...you have a point. I'm just blank right now," he muttered.

"I know...because you love her," Fang stated.

"Yes, I do. I want to save her," Boboiboy was determined.

"I always have your back. I may not have my shadow manipulation power anymore but I am your best friend. I will help you in other ways," the raven haired said.

They did a fist bump and went to bed.

Darwin stepped into the laboratory with his prize. He smirked at the professor and handed the power watch to him. The man praised his success, placing the power watch into a cabinet with a password. He turned his attention back to the female robot.

"Is she near to finish yet?" Darwin asked.

He observed the body. She was half human and half robot, not anywhere near to completion. He was disgusted at her figure.

"Don't bother. I'm still trying to erase her memories and her reprogramming is taking a longer time than usual," the professor replied.

"Really?" Darwin asked.

"Yes. She created a program that is restricting my access," the professor explained.

"Let me try to dive into her mind?" the male robot volunteered.

Shaking his head, the professor replied, "No need. I just need to pull her chip out."

Darwin scoffed, looking away. He went up to the woman inside the cage. Smirking at her, he gave out an evil chuckle. The woman ignored him. She was neutral to his threat. Darwin went back into his pod to start recharging.

Pitch black. That is all she saw when she opened her eyes.

"Am I awake?" she muttered to herself.

She took a deep breath. Her eyes flashed open, glowing brightly. A white light lit up from within her and it started to flow, following the lines on her skin.

"Something is missing," she said as she schemed through her memory logs.

Suddenly, she felt an electrical jolt. She was unconscious again.
