Chapter 4
Night came quickly and Christina headed for the morgue to escort Dr. Ogden home. She was happy she was allowed to wear her normal clothes as the constable's outfit was way too warm and itchy. She just had it carefully folded and stored in a small bag that Constable Crabtree had purchased for her earlier that day while he and Detective Murdoch searched for any abandoned buildings around the area of the killings. She also carried a leather sheath but she hid it underneath her jacket.
Christina knocked on the morgue's door before walking in seeing that Dr. Ogden was just finishing up with some paperwork. She smiled and gently knocked on the doorframe making the Doctor look up and smile at her. "I'm here to walk you home...and to possibly ask if I could stay the night until I can find a place to stay for an unseen amount of time."
"Of course." Dr. Ogden finished up a small piece of paperwork and stood up grabbing her coat and hat from the hat hanger nearest the exit. "Shall we?" She asked shutting off the power and then locking the door behind them as they left the building. Dr. Ogden waved for a carriage to pick them up and they rode in silence but Christina couldn't help but notice the stink eye at Christina as she climbed in wearing the clothes she was currently wearing. "So are women allowed to wear these clothes freely?"
"Yeah...I mean yes..." Christina chuckled nervously. "Women are allowed to wear whatever they want. Or lack there of in some places." She added then sighing. Her eyes and head were constantly moving on a swivel as they drove through the town until they stopped at a nice house and Dr. Ogden left and paid for the ride and lead the way into the house with Christina turning around and watching the area as Dr. Ogden worked on unlocking her door.
"Right this way, please." Dr. Ogden said turning the lights on. Christina walked in but couldn't keep the feeling of being watched but when Dr. Ogden lead her to a room on the second floor and smiled at her. "You can stay in here for as long as you like."
"Oh I can't take a room for much longer then a week...maybe even less." Christina smiled and sat her bag on the edge of the bed. "I don't want to trouble you with keeping my insanity under your roof and maybe even jeopardize you with the things I hunt."
Dr. Ogden smiled warmly at Christina. "I don't mind it at all. When you get settled in I'll make us something to eat."
"Thanks so much. I should be down in a few minutes." Christina smiled and closed the door behind Dr. Ogden and turned to face the bed and took off her jacket and took off her shoes setting them against the wall near the door and realized she didn't have any sleep clothes to change into. She didn't think Dr. Ogden would like it if she were to walk around her house in her undergarments and figured she'd just sleep in her clothes and possibly look for a way to get something to change into. As she worked on removing her bra she heard a gasp and porcelain breaking and she rushed out of her room.
"Doctor Ogden?" Christina called slowly moving down the stairs holding onto the leather sheath and keeping an eye in the direction of the kitchen that the sound originated from. "Dr. Ogden is everything alright?"
"Oh yes, sorry." Dr. Ogden said carefully picking up the porcelain cup. "Just saw someone outside my window...they startled me...but they just ran off." Christina held a finger to her mouth which confused Dr. Ogden but when Christina gently grabbed her shoulder and pushed her to the stairs Dr. Ogden knew something was wrong.
"Stay behind me, and if I say run you run and hide." Christina said pulling out the machete from the leather sheath making Dr. Ogden look surprised and worried. "Everything will be okay, just trust me, Dr. Ogden."
Dr. Ogden didn't have time to agree before the window near the front door exploded and Christina leapt into action stopping a young man whose teeth had become sharp and his eyes wide with blood lust. Christina tossed the sheath towards the now young vampire and it momentarily distracted him before Christina used the machete and cleanly cutting the man's head off his shoulders. The body slumped to the floor and Christina barely had time to check on Dr. Ogden and to make sure she was okay when another form broke through the same window but this time it was a young woman whose black hair was ratted but as soon as she saw Christina standing up to attack she turned and ran leaving Christina to try and catch her breath as she looked at Dr. Ogden who was looking shakily at Christina.
"I'll call William." Dr. Ogden said and walked to the phone and picked it up.

Detective Murdoch rushed into the house as soon as he pulled his bike up. A few constables were already scattered looking over the damage and trying to calm down Dr. Ogden who was sipping a tea. Christina was sitting staring at the broken window the machete bloody and laying on her lap. Her eyes were quite calm even if her body looked like she was ready to attack if accidently touched.
"William." Dr. Ogden rushed to him and threw her arms around his neck while Detective Murdoch gently rubbed her back to calm her down.
"Are you hurt?" He asked after she had calmed down and she nodded.
"Still a little shaken." Dr. Ogden said forcing a smile. "Christina really was a help."
"I'm glad, Julia if something were to happen to you-"
"Detective did you find any abandoned buildings?" Christina asked standing up and looking like she wasn't going to take any reluctance. Her once warm hazel eyes were dark and it scared Detective William and even Dr. Ogden gripped William's arm for support but they knew she would never hurt them as she had that look of a protector.
"Y-Yes, just two." Detective said graciously getting his composer back quickly. He cleared his throat. "There was an old barn that was just a few miles away from here. I can have one of my constables to take you there."
"No that won't be necessary." Christina said looking guiltily at Dr. Ogden and at Detective Murdoch. "I'm very sorry this has happened to both of you. I will find some other place to stay and for you Detective...my constable outfit is laying neatly on the bed upstairs. I do understand if you don't wish to see me at work."
"What on earth are you talking about?" Dr. Ogden said stepping around Detective Murdoch. "I will most definitely not allow someone who is clearly in need of a place to stay be kicked out from the first sign of trouble. Not only that, you saved my life. "
"And we need someone with your expertise in case we get another strange death and you can also work to find your way back home." Detective Murdoch said. "We don't like to leave anyone on there own."
Christina gave a smile and a nod. "Then I'll hopefully see you tomorrow." She turned to leave only to come back and look directly into Detective Murdoch's eyes. "With what I do nobody is to know the truth about Vampires or the Supernatural. If there's any kind of panic there's going to be pandemonium and trust me the world doesn't need all the paranoia at this time...we're getting the lion's share in the twenty first century." She smiled again and left humorously nearly breaking her back from the sudden stairs in front making the Doctor and Detective to chuckle at first before the two walked back into the kitchen for some more tea.

Christina hunched down staring at a large barn that was nearly hidden in shadow of some trees watching the abandoned building, her breath appearing as small wisps of smoke. Her body trembled as the air grew cold and wet the smell of approaching rain followed by the soft rumble of distant thunder. She adjusted her jacket as the cold breeze of the rain soaked wind made her shiver and she wished she had a better coat or at least have one of her two tall brothers to use as a human windbreaker. She smiled at the thought of her bothers fighting to protect her while all shivered but she knew they would only do that for extreme measures.
She looked down at her watch and she looked up as she started to think she was at the wrong place as it had been nearly an hour of her sitting there but some movement caught her attention near the south end of the building. Acting on instinct Christina lowered herself so only her head was barely visible over the tall grass of the field. She watched intently as a portion of the door opened and the figure disappeared inside. After a few minutes a small light flickered to life and Christina slowly moved closer towards the building and stopped just outside. In the dark she could see a small outline of the opening and she slowly reached her fingers inside.
The door opened violently knocking Christina to her back and the machete just a few feet away from her fingers. The same woman from earlier leapt on top of Christina pinning her arms down on the ground.
"Get off of me you sharp tooth freak!" She yelled throwing her head up knocking into the vampire's mouth getting her forehead caught on the teeth breaking them in the process. The vampire howled in pain and Christina knocked the vampire off and quickly grabbed the machete up and swiped it blindly swiped but hearing the howl of pain Christina figured she hit something other then the vampire's neck. When she stood up and looked she saw that the vampire's left arm was missing from mid bicep only hanging by the small piece of her dress.
"You bitch!" The vampire screamed her spit flying as the vampire tried to stop the bleeding not only coming from her mouth but by her arm. "You should know I never wanted this! He said to get rid of you! You'll never get back to your brothers!"
Christina stared at the vampire as she knelt down staring up at the young hunter. "You know who did this?" Christina asked her voice shaking with anger but also with fear. "Who did this to me? Who made you?"
"Just kill me already!" The vampire said clearly not wanting to talk more. "You won't touch him! He will make sure you never leave!"
Christina slowly lowered her arm not wanting to finish the job until she got answers. "Tell me what you know, please...I don't belong here."
The vampire let out a scream and leapt towards Christina making her attack and finish the job by slicing off her head. The vampire's body quivered for a second until it lay still. Christina then felt the first drops of rain smash into her back but she was already cold and numb. She fell to her knees staring at the remains of the vampire and felt her body tremble but her body was heavy and cold.

Dean slowed to a stop right outside Bobby's house. He was forcing his body to stay awake even with Sam's protests to stop for a night but Dean was not having it. He turned off the Impala and gently shook his brother awake before they exited the car their bodies cracking and groaning from being cramped in the car for so long.
Dean barely exited the car when Castiel arrived with the sound of rushing wings knocking the hunter back against the car.
"Sorry, Dean." Castiel said. "But I came as soon as I can. Someone is responsible for Christina's disappearance. Only they are allowed to bring her back. It also appears that your sister's prayers...I can hear them but I cannot help as they sound really far off."
Dean looked puzzled for a second as his brain was slowly shutting down. "Wait..." Dean said as it seemed what Castiel had said finally made sense in her brain. "You're saying someone sent Christina somewhere?"
"Yes...in a matter of speaking." Castiel said. "But I'm sure that Bobby will have some information that we can use to our advantage."
"How so?" Dean asked his brain really tired couldn't understand the 'advantage' they could have.
"If we can find out who did this to your sister, we can 'persuade' them to bring her back." Castiel explained glad to see Dean was actively trying to fully understand. "But you two must sleep, I intend to help Bobby with the research."
"I'll help once I get some sleep, but Bobby said there was something we needed to see." Dean pushed off his car and stumbled into Bobby's house followed by Sam and Castiel.
Bobby was leaning in his desk chair his eyes closed and his hands folded on his stomach. He looked tired but as soon as Dean, Sam and Castiel walked into the room he sat up and held up a small brown paper box that gave everyone a feeling of danger. "This arrived a few days ago. Has your name on it but my address."
"Any idea what it is?" Dean asked in his sleep deprived mind slowly and carefully unwrapped the paper and pulled out a small wooden box. Everyone around him looked confused as he opened the lid and saw it was full of a twine like substance to help protect whatever was inside. He carefully dug through and felt something solid near the base of the box. As his fingers closed around it he slid it out and everyone was surprised to see Christina's cellphone. Something landed on the floor and Sam picked up a small piece of paper. "A note?" Dean asked.
"Yeah." Sam said checking the back before going back to the front. "It says; Your sister wanted me to send this to you. She's safe and we'll try and send her home. Constable George Crabtree."
"At least now we have a name..." Dean said but let out a yawn. "But I need to grab a couple of hours."
"We all do." Bobby said seeing the worry and fear in the boy's eyes. "We'll find a way to get her back. I promise."
"I know Bobby...but how could we when we don't even know where she is?"
Bobby cleared his throat. "According to the delivery guy that's been in the back for over a century. Said they had it since 1897."
