"I'm very sorry about that, Mittens! The polite veterinarian was only trying to make sure you were healthy." Ella soothed as she entered her apartment building with her cat in a carrier. He just meowed with disgust, making his owner frown. "Well, at least it's over!"

After the 2 flights of stairs, Ella reached her apartment, room 200. She tried to open the door a couple times, but it seemed to be locked. She then tried to use her key, which didn't work either. "What's this?" She questioned, before she noticed her phone vibrating and a note on the door.

"An eviction notice?" She read out sadly. "But my rent was paid only a week and a half ago…"

She continued reading the note word-for-word with no comments of her own until finishing. "Dear Ella W., you have failed to pay your rent and did not listen to our text message informing you of this. Therefore, we have asked you to please exit immediately. Your belongings are being kept in this room until further notice." The songbird sighed sadly, not sure how any of this happened.

"Oh dear, Mittens. This isn't very good." She said to her kitty. She then went out to call her girlfriend, hoping that she would help solve the matter.

"Hi." Sammy greeted.

"Samantha, it's me."

"Oh, Ella, what's up?"

"I cannot access my apartment right now. I got evicted."

"OMG, come over as fast as you can."

"Okay, I'll give you more details once I'm over there."

With that, the princess did as instructed, while trying to not make her cat upset.

Cut to Ella at Sammy's house.

"How did this happen?" Sammy pondered as Ella walked back and forth. She set her cat down in the twin's room and let him out of the carrier.

"Well, I was going back to my apartment after I took Mittens to the vet for his annual checkup, but when I came back, there was a note on my door telling me that I was evicted. I tried to use my key, but the door wouldn't open." Ella explained.

"That's terrible! Where are you gonna live?" Her girlfriend asked, tightly clutching Ella's arm.

"To be honest, I haven't thought about that very much." She sat down on a chair in the room. "I may have to move back in with my parents…"

The camera cut to a picture of Ella's parents smiling.

"Don't they live far away though? I don't know if that's a good idea because of that…" The blonde pointed out.

The same picture of Ella's parents, shown again, frowned.

"Yes, I love them, but I also love you, so it's gonna be hard." The princess shared.

"I love you too." Sammy paused to think for a moment. "If you don't mind, then I could let you live here for a while. I… don't really have an extra bed for you to sleep in, so I guess you could sleep in my bed with me if- if you're okay with that."

The songbird smiled up at the cheerleader. "Would you be alright with that?"

"Yeah, if you're okay with it. I'm… not sure how much Amy would like you or Mittens being here, but I can try to convince her, I guess."

"That would be nice. Thank you, Sammy." She went to give her princess a hug, which she quickly returned.

Later that night, Sammy was happily adrift in her dreams, when she felt warmth on her torso, looking back to see her princess hugging her, murmuring in her sleep. Ella's words weren't comprehensible, but she clearly looked content as she slept. Sammy would've been happy to let her girlfriend sleep and get up on her own, but there were two problems. One was that she couldn't get up because of Ella's surprisingly tight sleepy hold, and the other was that it was one in the morning.

The twin felt Ella's head make its way to her shoulder, and she let out the quietest "aww" to not wake her up. She wasn't going to complain about this, and instead chose to try to get back to sleep herself.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Gah!" Sammy jumped. Her clock read 7:40. "Oh no, that's later than usual! I hope the clock's just wrong…" She quickly removed Ella's grip with some effort, awakening the princess with a stir, though she still wasn't fully aware of her surroundings. Sammy got dressed and left for work.

After a few minutes, now fully conscious, Ella tried to do the same, but as she undressed, she looked down and remembered that she slept in her day clothes due to a lack of options. "Oh, that's right. I suppose I'll have to ask for a spare uniform then…" She realized, pulling her skirt back up. She then approached her cat. "Well, this may be our new lifestyle for a while until we get back on our feet. Be a good little kitty while Samantha and I are gone!" She told Mittens before kissing him on the head and leaving herself.

The scene swapped to show Sammy sprinting into the store she worked at at exactly 7:59, one minute before she had to clock in. She quickly did so, and sighed in relief when the system had claimed she was on time.

"Man, almost late?" She wondered. "It's… not the first time that's happened, but it normally doesn't. Jeez, that's worrying."

The twin thought for a moment and decided that she needed to have a talk with Ella when she got home. After, she brushed the thought aside and went to do her daily duties.

When she got home, she saw Ella cooking something, humming along to a song. It may have to wait a bit, but… as soon as she's done, we'll talk. The twin thought.

The songbird, likely hearing the door, walked up to Sammy and kissed her on the cheek. "Hello!"

Sammy was rather flustered by this. Later for sure. She then realized that she should probably respond. "Oh, hi!"

The princess giggled at this, along with her own thoughts. "We seem like a married couple, don't we?"

The twin smiled. "I-I guess so, yeah!"

"Well, perhaps I should be calling you some pet names then, huh, cutie?" Ella giggled a second time, cupping her lover's chin. "A princess can always have her own princess, after all!"

"Oh, that's a new one." The blonde replied, still grinning.

The two continued telling each other sweet nothings for a few minutes as Ella continued cooking, making Sammy almost forget what she needed to do.

"You know, Sammy, I'm very sorry for having to ask this of you, but thank you for making things work." Ella suddenly changed the topic, making the twin recall.

Oh, work! Right…

"Oh, um, not to interrupt the moment, but can I talk about something serious for a second?" The blonde requested.

"Oh, okay!"

Sammy took a deep breath to give herself a bit of confidence. "Ella, I love your hugs, but it was a bit hard to get up this morning. I was really close to being late for work today, and I think it might be because of that."

"Oh, I'm sorry about that! I didn't notice since I had only woken up completely once you'd already left." The songbird frowned as she looked down to the floor, thinking about something. "Well, perhaps we could try again for just one more night to see if it's still a problem?"

"Yeah, we can do that. I don't have work tomorrow, so if I still wake up later than usual, we'll just talk again in the morning, alright? Sorry I have to tell you this."

"No, it's alright. I understand. Is it too warm for you then?"

"That… might be it, but I think it's because of you cuddling me in general. It's… comforting and adorable, but it might be too comfortable and make me sleep too long, y'know?"

"I suppose that makes sense. I don't want to cause you too much trouble, so I'll see what else I can do if it's still hard for you."

"Okay, well, thanks for considering me." Sammy took Ella's hand and kissed it as a prince would do to a princess, knowing that she loved it and to lighten the mood. That put a smile on Ella's face, making Sammy look more than a little relieved.

That night, Sammy was, much like before, asleep peacefully, but once again, Ella's hands curled around her body, spooning the blondy. Again she embraced it and tried to sleep again.

But this time, that sleep wasn't coming. The songbird's grip only got a bit tighter, so Sammy used her free arm to gently shake her lover, making her loosen up a bit as she grunted out a "hmm?" noise. Sammy tensed up a little, fearing that she woke her up fully, but the singer quickly settled back in and sighed contently. The twin let out a breath as well, though of relief rather than contentedness, and closed her own eyes after that.

The next morning, Sammy did unfortunately have to talk to her girlfriend while the two had breakfast. After informing her of this, the twin sighed as she sat across from Ella at the table. "I think you're gonna have to sleep somewhere else. You don't have to move out of here, but you might have to sleep on the couch."

Ella sighed sadly again as she looked down, but seemed to accept this. "Alright. I may have to move back in with my parents, but that means I'm going away from you, my job, and all my other wonderful friends. Oh, I wish I could keep my home, Sam." She expressed as she took a sip of tea.

"I think we've done all we can do, Ella. I don't want to keep you in the living room, or the floor if you still wanna be with me, but I think it's gonna come to that." The blonde answered, munching on french toast.

"It may be for the best if I just call my parents then. May you at least see me off once they get here?"

"If that's what you wanna do, then yeah, I can do that."

"This doesn't change anything between us, okay, Sammy?"

Sammy only nodded. "Alright."

The two were then seen outside as Ella's mom and dad pulled up to the house. The princess gave the blonde one final hug and kiss, the last time she thought she'd be able to for a while. Sammy gave a sad wave as she watched her approach the ones who raised her.

"Hi, Ella! We're here!" Her mother called as soon as the two were done with their affections.

"Hello!" She greeted back before giving the two a hug each before suddenly hearing her phone ring. "Oh, ah, may I take this?"

"Go ahead, honey." Her dad allowed.

She checked her phone and curiously saw something. "But isn't that my landlor- ah, my old landlord's number?" She answered the call. As the call continued, Ella's face morphed from confusion to absolute joy. "Oh, there's been a mixup! They never meant to evict me; it was someone else named Ella! I feel bad for her, but I haven't been evicted! Oh, this is just wonderful, Samantha!" She exclaimed as she lifted Sammy in the air and spun her around once in joy before putting everyone into a group hug, including Mittens, who was still in his carrier.

A/N: Sorry for taking longer than usual to get this chapter out. There was just complicated stuff that got in the way.
