Chapter 2: I'm in where now!?

It was early evening, it was starting to get dark. I was sitting on a chair, as Midas, in a guest room, which just so happened to be part of the Village Chief's home. My reward for saving their village and rescuing their people. Ronald was his name. All the while flipping a small golden coin, which I got from my Coin Flip emote. It was small rather than big, and instead of having the Hand and my face on the sides, it was the symbols of Ghost and Shadow… weird. I didn't pay too much attention about it as I had other things on my mind at the moment.

The room I was given was simple, a bed, a small window, a table with a chair, and that was it.

I'm not complaining honestly, its nice to have a roof over my head, unlike those times I tried to make one with the mats I had.

*Flashback…*

"Phew! All done!" (Agent Jones)

Somehow I managed to make a small box home, on a single, angled slope. All wood by a river, along with a door too. Those were hard to do in game.

*Crunch* *Crunch* *Crunch*

I slowly turned my head towards the source of the sound, coming from behind the slope, only to find a bunch of beavers munching on my builds!

*CRACK*

My entire little home fell apart, wood everywhere, by these little shits. My gaze held on them as theirs held on me for a bit, until those little bastards grabbed every wood with their teeth and ran off!

Next thing I knew, I was chasing those little shits, gun and pickaxe in both hands, screaming at the top of my lungs.

*Flashback Ends*

]

Now here I am, trying to recap what "really happened" ever since I came to this world. I'm gonna need my recorder for this…

"*Sigh, Reality Log FE-F-8, more has happened in a single day than I could have imagined…"

"Lets go over this again:" Still flipping the coin in my hand.

"My name is Nick Hernandez, 26 years old, resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. I live, or lived, in an apartment. Have… had a decent job as a cook and bartender at a bar.

Now here I am in this world with Fortnite powers, but this world isn't Fortnite. It's been almost a week now and I finally found civilization, only to end up saving it from these crazy bandits… and lot more than I thought.

Of course everyone gave their thanks, but also concerns of more about who I am and where I came from. That took a lot of quick thinking and self-control to make up a story of origin, thanks to Midas' part."

So… Origin of Midas Time (Fake)!

"I came from a country very far, far away from here. I was a simple adventurer, with a group a people (my agents). Our new goal was to make new discoveries. Whether it was land, tombs, civilization, just about anything. One day, we came across a golden artifact in an ancient temple of some sort. I only took a few steps towards the object and a bright light shined from it, blinding just one of my eyes. When I woke up, my agents had already dragged me outside and explained what happened. The temple collapsed after the light, and not only that, but my body… changed. At first my entire body was pure gold, but then began to fade and only my hands were covered in gold.

This new discovery excited me so, that I began to try out this new power of mine. Anything I touched turned to gold, even one of my agents, by accident of course. Luckily for us, I was able to reverse the effects. Unfortunately, however, it was permanent, according to some of the writings and other translations my agents found in the temple. I did not complain at first, but after a few accidents at home with my new powers, especially around my daughter, I needed to find a way to control it. I've been digging through what resources we had at home and researched anything ancient that can tell me more about this golden power.

After some time, we couldn't find anything and decided to call it quits. Time had passed and I already had more control over it. No point into looking for a way to remove it if it helps and is stuck to me for the rest of my life.

We then decided to resume adventuring for a time to forget the recent events. It all helped for a while, until a tsunami came out of nowhere and sunk our ship. Later on, I woke on this unfamiliar land and began to explore, hoping to find my friends.

The End…"

"Hey! They actually bought the story. So I've got nothing to worry about anyone being suspicious or anything. Right now, the people trust me, I have an actual roof over my head, and a place where I can think to myself.

After that, I decided to interrogate my prisoner. I had him moved to a barn, which was emptied out, per my request to the villagers."

]

*Another flashback…*

Before I moved the guy, I made it easier for by reversing his golden state and knocked him out immediately. Guy would have been more heavy as a statue.

After getting him inside, I tied him to a chair and told the villagers to stay outside. Didn't want any of them to witness anymore gruesome scenes than they already had today… and perhaps the possibility of me changing my… appearance for this interrogation.

Everything was set, now we can begin.

I grabbed a bucket of water and threw it at the man… I threw both things at him at the same time.

*WHACK-SPLASH!!!*

"GAAAHHH!"

He looked around for a few seconds until his eyes met mine.

"YOU-!" SLAP!

"Quiet. I'm the one who's in charge of this interrogation and you will speak when I say so." I said after giving him a bruising slap to the face. That's probably due to my hand being made of solid gold again.

Man looked mad as hell, but still in a lot of pain. Probably because those bullets are still stuck inside him. Oh well, thats his fault for killing a few people.

"I'll kil-" *THWACK!!*

This time I punched him, and saw a couple of his teeth fly out of his mouth. God! For a guy who's been shot multiple times and still bleeding, he is really annoying.

"I believe I made myself quite clear of how this will proceed. I speak. You will listen and answer when I say so…" I spoke again with more intimidation in my voice. This time he was quiet, but was still glaring at me. Well, I'd say thats progress right there. I pulled up a chair to sit across from and began our interrogation.

"Now, lets start off with who you are and if there are others associated with you." Just a couple simple questions to answer. How hard can it be?

"Go to hell!" The man spat in response. Apparently its gonna be that hard huh?

"Perhaps I did not make myself quite clear…" I held out my right to my side to summon my pickaxe. The guy looked scared at first, probably because he thought I was going to pull out my guns, but tried to keep the tough guy look on him.

My Golden King pickaxe was summoned in my hands, which of course surprised him. Then I decided that I would need something a little more, convincing in this interrogation.

"Hmmmm… one second please." I then pulled up my screen to choose a different pickaxe. Something that can be more threatening. It looks like the guy could see the screen too because he was looking right at it with wide eyes. Right now I just need something… ah! There it is! Sarah Connor's combat knife.

"H-how did you do that?"

My response? Plunge the knife right into his left knee.

"AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!" The man screamed in pain as I held the knife in his knee firmly.

"Lets try this again, and try to be more cooperative this time. You're already losing more blood and I need you to be conscious in order to answer my questions. You're no good to me if you bleed to death." I said as I twisted the knife slowly in his knee, causing him to scream in more pain.

I don't know why, I wanna say that its Midas' thinking, but I feeling an odd sense of enjoyment from this.

]

After about an hour of interrogating Drake, that was his name, he wasn't in charge of this whole raid. What he told me so far was unsettling. Apparently there were more of these… brigands, and they have a hideout in a cave of some sort with stolen goods and people they kidnapped. Of course! What sort of Isekai adventure would this be if there wasn't a cave where the bandits were hiding all of their loot?! And if there's anything I've learned from crime shows and anime Isekai, it's that they'll sell the people as slaves… or worse.

I then awarded the man for this useful information he provided… with a bullet to the head. And then I rewarded myself with a slap to my face because I just forgot to ask him what he knew about the world or anything about this land. Oh well, I can still ask the villagers for that, they're bound to know something, but first, I need to save those people.

I informed the village chief about this and he was relived and worried for my safety. Turns out he was going to request that I save them. Despite the fact that I killed all the bandits, I'm still going in alone. I assured him that I would take the utmost precaution. Luckily, there were some horses that were left behind from the bandits, and once again, Midas knew how to ride one. Is there anything Midas can't do?!

Anyway, I checked my weapons and healing supplies, all good so far. After all of that, I rode off the location the dead man gave me. It took about a good few hours to get there, according to my Holo-Map, yes thats what I'm calling it. I kept forgetting that this isn't The Island anymore. Nope, this was something much bigger instead.

I finally reached the cave, just enough for me to see and stay hidden because I could see two guards just outside. Thanks to Midas' skill as an agent/spy, the best strategy to proceed was stealth. Honestly, if there weren't any hostages, I would have gone full Ghost Rider and burn them all alive, or John Wick and stab all of them with a pencil. Too bad I don't have one lying around, but right now I had more people to save. Not only that, but being saved by some flaming skeleton or angry bearded man would only raise more questions since the majority of the people only know me as Midas.

I got off the horse, still staying hidden from the other bandits, and switched my weapons to the silencer types. I'm going all Solid Snake in this.

]

Brun and his friend Rork got quite the haul today with their company. A lot of loot they have taken from many villages, even some people they've taken captive, especially the women. The children they also grabbed will get them a lot of coins from those who are willing to buy. His thoughts were then interrupted when his friend called out to him.

"Hey…."

"Yeah?"

"You ever wond-"

Next thing he knew, his friend fell to the ground, blood coming out from the back his head, and then… nothing.

]

Two down, plenty more to go. I quickly moved the bodies into the bushes to prevent suspicion.

I then grabbed a recon scanner that I took from the launcher gun. It still worked the same way as a grenade, but instead of throwing, I simply rolled the thing further into the cave. It did its work and revealed both enemies and friendlies. The place was more like a tunnel with a few turns here and there. I moved in.

I stuck with an SMG silencer, perfect for far and up close enemies, also staying silent without alerting the rest of them. I heard a woman screaming and struggling not far. Moving faster, I found two men holding said woman on the ground with perverted looks in their faces. Oh hell no! I knew exactly where this was going! Not happening!

Quickly bringing up my gun, I killed them both out with a couple of bullets to their heads. Of course some blood got on the woman's face. She then noticed me and I quickly held my finger to my lips, signaling her to stay quiet. Luckily she got the message after a few seconds of shock and silence. Told her to go outside and stay hidden until I returned.

As I did back in the village, I killed every brigand I saw, saving any unfortunate villager that would have been violated. I still remained stealthy as I went further into the cave.

As I finally came to the end, the recon scanner stopped working. Well, its effects are only temporary. I peeked around the corner and saw about five guys. One of them was a big man with a Mohawk haircut and a beard. The two beside him were just your average ugly looking losers that looked like they have done nothing but make terrible choices in their lives and blamed others for it. Although one of them had a ragged robe rather than armor everywhere.

What stood out and got my attention were the other two in front of the big boss. These guys were dressed up in outfits that screamed, ninja! Their clothing had some similarities to Japanese culture. Their lower arms had some sort of metal covering that had curved blades on each arm. A huge scarf like cloth that covered their shoulders and neck. And to top it off, they had these big metal headbands that covered their forehead. It was like those from Naruto, but these were different. What's even weirder is that I feel like I should know these outfits they're wearing. Like I, Nick, not Midas, should know where these outfits came from.

But behind them was a lot of things in wooden boxes that varied from vases, food, tools, and other things that had value. And next to all of that were a few cages with people inside. That had to be the rest of the captured villagers.

"Your men still have not returned and our master is losing his patience." The ninja spoke in an unpleasant tone.

"I told you, your boss would have his land. I did not say when though." The big man responded casually, like it wasn't a big deal.

"And we told you that our master is not one to be kept waiting." The ninja retorted back.

"Relax already. There are no guards protecting the village I sent them to. What you're seeing right now is just half of it. Our numbers were limited recently and we didn't know that the village would so big. You should be happy that we're busting our asses just doing this for your boss!" Now Mohawk man was getting annoyed. Its like watching a Karen argue with a store manager.

"Once we're done there, you and your boys can move in and take over the place. I'm already getting a lot from all of this." The big man spread his arms gesturing towards the things they've stolen and the people they kidnapped, before turning back toward the ninja. "And of course the gold your boss paying us."

"Lord Kotaro won't be happy if you just waste our time playing around. This whole operation would have gone faster if you had gone out there yourself." Damnit! Another name familiar name. Sounds like something from an anime, assuming that it is, but which one? Doesn't matter, I'll figure it out when as soon as I knock them out and- hold up! That footstep symbol just popped up in front of me, which means I missed someone, and they're right behind me! I don't remember turning that thing on!

I quickly turned to block a sword that was about to chop me in half with my smg. Where was this guy hiding?! I quickly parried his next attack and smashed the butt of the gun to his face, dazing him, which gave me enough to time to shoot a few bullets in him, putting him down for good, and had him scream in pain. His scream just made my situation a whole lot worse.

"What was that?!" Mohawk man shouted. "*Oh shit*." I then heard and "saw" (footsteps) of those men coming to my direction. I quickly began thinking of a new plan. I switched my silencer rifle to C4 Explosives, and once again, they are infinite! I began throwing a few on the ground and the walls as I moved backwards. A few more feet later, those guys came out from the corner, weapons in their hands. The guy with the robe, however, was holding a book. What's he gonna do? Read me to death?? Whack me with it???

"Hey! You!!" Damn, thats my cue to run. And run I did. Thankfully, they ran after me as well, but needed them to move in a little more closer. Almost there… now!

BOOOOM!!!

The explosives went off with those guys in it, thanks to the trigger I had on me. Smoke was everywhere and I was lucky enough to that they didn't even bother looking at the charges. Either they didn't care, didn't notice, who knows and who cares. They're de-

"YOU'RE A DEAD MAN!!!" Shit!! Spoke too soon! Mohawk man came running through the smoke, with a big axe in his hand, burning alive, melted flesh, and snarling like an angry bull. Of course he wasn't the only one rushing through, one of the ninjas and the robe man came through as well.

What happened next was something I was not expecting. Bathrobe man whipped out his book, opened it up, and muttered something and some sort of… magic runes appeared under and around him!! And if that wasn't enough, a big fireball flew from his palms towards me!!! Magic is real here!? What the hell!? Not only that, but that one ninja threw his ninja stars at me! I dodged and rolled outta there fast. Fire hit the wall behind me, I could feel the intense heat and managed to dodge those stars too.

"RAAAAAGGHHH!!!" Welp, there's more trouble. Mohawk man brought his axe down from over his head. I rolled away from the attack and kicked him In the back of his leg, which made him fall backwards with a big thud. I lost my smg in the process, so I took out my pistol from my holster. No point in being quiet anymore. I took aim and managed to get a headshot on the magic man. That took care of the magical fireball problem. Seriously though, MAGIC!? What fantasy world did I-

"Agh!" One this damn ninja stars got in my right shoulder! It stung real bad! But my adrenaline rush allowed me to ignore it for the time being and focus on the guys in front of me.

The ninja came at me with fury in his eyes. I could see he was badly burnt too. This guy was so fast, I was having a hard time aiming my gun at him. One of the bullets managed to graze the left side of his face, which caused him to hold his face in pain. But my problems weren't over yet. Mohawk man got up again and rushed at me. I wasn't fast enough to move as he tackled me to the ground, making me lose my other gun. I felt pain in my back from the fall and wind blown out of me from the tackle. I quickly recovered and saw the big man holding the axe over his head once again and brought it down fast. I reacted fast and summoned my Golden King pickaxe to block his attack. This of course shocked him, and also gave me enough time to kick him in the balls and kicked him off of me.

I got back up on my feet, pulling the ninja star out of my shoulder, as did the other two. All of us held our weapons in front. The ninja holding two kunais, the hairy, burly man holding an axe (and his groin), and then there's me, the handsome pale man holding his golden axe. You know if I had one of my knight skins on, this would make a nice For Honor moment. Thinking over, time to act!

The ninja threw one of his kunais at me at as they both began to rush at me again. I managed to deflect it with my pickaxe and parried a blow from the Mohawk's axe. Allowing me to strike at the ninja, only for him to dodge my attack. Good thing my pickaxe was light and durable. It may not look like it, but it was pretty strong against their weapons. This whole 2v1 went on for a good few minutes and I could feel myself getting tired, but so were they. Even my shields were gone. I was lucky enough to get a few bruises and cuts in them, but I got some on myself too. None of us were gonna give up, I wouldn't have time to pull out my other pistol as they're too close to me to do it. I checked my health and shields. Shields are gone and health is down to 45. I then got a crazy idea that might give me a better edge. It was risky, but I had to make it work.

Both men charged at me again, but then suddenly stopped when I made T with both my hands and yelled "Time Out!" Both men froze where they stood, trying to understand what I was trying to do. I then opened my Holo-Screen again right in front of them, which made them stare in wonder and confusion. Whenever I summon something or pull up my Holo-Screen, it has made a couple people stop in the past, including Mohawk man. I decided to wing it and started to heal myself, by pulling out the big Chug Jug.

"W-wha… what are you-?" The ninja asked, only to be stopped when I held up my index finger at him to wait. I popped off the cap, lifted the heavy sucker, and began drinking the whole thing.

I couldn't see their faces as I was too focused on drinking this big thing, but I could tell that they were probably dumbfounded. Though I can't tell if its because of how big this jug is, the jug itself, that I made it appear out of nowhere, who knows? Maybe all of the above.

"Where did you get-?" Mohawk man was asking this time, only to be stopped when I held up my index finger once again. This stuff was like a mix of Gatorade and Red Bull. I'm honestly surprised that I am still drinking this stuff. If I was my normal self, I would not have been able to finish this whole thing under a minute.

"Are you seriously drinking in the middle-?" The ninja spoke again, and I held my finger again to stop him. Man I can't believe this is working! This is probably the stupidest, best, last minute idea I've come up with. Back home, they would have knocked me to the ground and kicked me.

"By the gods, he is actually chugging that whole thing…" Mohawk man seemed surprised by this display that I was able to finish the whole thing, and as soon as I was done, I tossed the jug to the side, which then disappeared. Almost done, just one more thing to do. I then picked out a couple chili peppers from my inventory and ate them both in front of them. After that quick snack break, I whipped my pickaxe once more. Health full? Check! Shield full? Check! Chili Peppers burning my insides? Hell yeah they're burning me!!!

"Are you done now?! 'Cause I have had it with-!" Mohawk man spatting came to a stop when he noticed that my face was starting to turn red, a sweat running down my face, my body was beginning to shake from the burning sensation that I was feeling inside me!

"What's wrong with hi-?!" The ninja never got the chance to finish his question because I was already in front of him, with my pickaxe coming close to his face to slash. He noticed and tried to dodge and block, but it was too late. The blade of my pickaxe managed to cut off his left hand so fast. Those chili peppers not only increased the speed of my legs, but my whole body, my attacks, everything! Steam was blowing out from both my ears, my face was red and sweating, and I was rushing into the fray like crazy!!

The ninja screamed in pain, blood coming out, but it didn't end there. I then thrusted the bottom part of the pole on the pickaxe under between his legs and throwing him up over my head and right at Mr. Mohawk. I almost screamed "Nolo superstes!" when I chucked that ninja over my head. God I've played that game too much!

Both dudes fell on the ground and I rushed in once more. Big man threw the ninja off him and managed to block my first attack, but then started to struggle as I went on with fast, flurry attacks on him. Soon he was covered in more cuts and bruises than he had before. I then moved to knock him out for more interrogation. Need to know who this Kotaro guy is. I used my pickaxe to sweep him from under his feet, throwing him on his back. I then took out my second pistol from the other holster and shot him in all his joints, rendering him immobile, but alive and in pain.

I was about to do the same to the ninja, until another ninja star knocked the gun out of my hand. The guy recovered fast, despite his bleeding arm and missing hand. He still managed to hold a kunai in his other hand and ran at me, intent on killing me. The chili pepper effects suddenly wore off, damn! I still had the advantage over him though. I was fully recovered and shielded while this guy was still bleeding and exhausted. I decided to put my pickaxe away, I could use another prisoner to interrogate. I was able to dodge his slashes and stabs, soon I grabbed his good arm and snapped it between his elbow, kneed him in the stomach and then an elbow to his face, knocking him out.

I took a few deep breathes as I dropped him to the ground and I was sweating like crazy. That took longer than I thought, even more than fighting those bandits in the village. It was done, over. I still needed these guys alive to now more about this world. So I turned them both into gold to stop the bleeding. That was taken care of, all of them are now dead, now to free the rest of the villagers.

I checked on the other dead bandits that were killed in the explosion in case one of them tried to get the drop on me. Dead, no surprise there, but whats this? Keys? Must be for a chest with loot, or perhaps the cages holding the villagers. Only one way to find out. On the way over, I picked my weapons and placed them back in my inventory.

I walked back to the opening where the villagers were, they were terrified. Who wouldn't be after being in a cage and watching people die?

I approached one of cages, nice and easy, not trying to scare them. I showed them the key, showing that I was setting them free. One by one, all the cages were opened and and the people were finally free from their prison. These people were ragged and covered in dirt, some even looked like they haven't eaten in days.

"Its alright everyone. I am here on behalf of your village chief's request." I spoke in a calm manner to soothe any tensions that they may have felt towards me. But it seemed to work as I even told them that all the bandits were taken care of. Just needed to get them outside so that I could interrogate the two statues. A few were more concerned about their belongings, their goods than those who were just caged a while ago. Jeez, talk about selfish. I took care of that too though. My inventory ability still worked like a charm. Just walk towards the stuff, put out your hand, and they'll jump at you and disappear in a small flash of light. I wonder what else I can put in my inventory with this Isekai power of mine. This of course surprised the people, but I assured them that their belongings would be returned, as soon as we return to their village. I even took the weapons from the bandits too. If this is a fantasy world, surely theres a shop that would buy this stuff, or maybe even a guild. Hehehe… nice.

After leading them outside, I told them to wait until I was done speaking with my prisoners. These people would need protection on the way back. Again, I had to unfreeze these guys, knock 'em out, tie the up, and drag their asses inside. As soon as I was sure that I was alone, I performed the air horn emote, waking them up instantly. That was actually the first time I have ever used an air horn in my life.

The ninja was the first to take notice of his current predicament… and that his left arm is now all gold to stop the bleeding. Mohawk man acted more like a wild animal. Growling, thrashing, throwing insults and threats at me. The ninja stayed silent, glaring at me. Mohawk man seemed exhausted after his shouting.

"Are you done?" I asked, really wanting to get this over with. It has been a long day and I was already getting tired from this. None of them responded, except Mohawk attempting to spit at me, only to miss. Disgusting…

"I'll take your silence as a yes… now, from one point of view, you all are just a bunch of ragtag bandits attacking villagers, looting their goods and all of that… on another point, you two in particular are more organized. In fact, I'd say that you both are planning something bigger than just raids."

"I'm not saying anything to you dastard freak!" Mohawk man spat back. The freak part must be from my powers gold.

"You're right. You don't even look like the type to think or plan. Probably aren't even capable of reading." This ticked him off even more and before he could say thing back, I turned towards the ninja.

"But you, from what I understand, you're serving someone in particular. A master to be exact. One who no doubt has been planning this for quite some time now. May I ask who this… Kotaro is?" I wanted to know who Kotaro was. I know that name, but from where?

The ninja said nothing, just kept his glare at me. Figures the stealthy folks would would be the silent type. I had a feeling this would happen, so it looks like I would need to take a… different approach this time. At first, I was thinking of pulling out Batman to do this, but then I had another idea. I pulled up my screen for my lockers to pick one that would be more suitable fort this. One of them… was red. My two prisoners noticed this and were no doubt wondering what I was doing. They soon got their answer, in a bright flash of light, and in the form… of the Ghost Rider.

There I stood, this demon, fire skeleton, biker of hell. Fire burning throughout my body. Hatred and vengeance was all I could feel. I could feel their sins within them. Their crimes that they have committed to the innocent. They did not deserve to live! I quickly took control of my new form, it was really hard to be honest. There was just so much hate towards these guys and I don't blame him. I would feel the same too, but right now I needed more answers to where I am because the information I have so far is very minimal.

If these guys weren't scared before, they sure as hell are now. Eyes wide open, jaws dropping, sweating profusely, they were terrified. I think they were about to cry too. I walked up to the ninja, grabbed him by the scarf around his neck, lifted him up and slammed him to the wall.

"Lets try this again…" my voice was deep, demonic, and filled with rage. "Who is Kotaro!?" Poor guy looked he was already on the verge of tears.

"H-h-he's our leader, o-of Mokushu!!" His response was quick, short, and stuttering. That doesn't really narrow down everything I wanted to know.

"Where is Mokushu?!" Damnit man, just give it to me already!!!

I-I-It's in th-the southern region… of Hoshido!"

"……..what?" I dropped him to the ground, I turned way from them and walked a few feet away, my body just moved on its own. I was currently in shock, confused, scared, so much emotions were flowing through me right now! It was all coming back to me. Fire Emblem Fates!! Hoshido, Nohr, Samurai, Knights, Revelation, all of it! I was in one of my old 3DS video games!! I remember it all! How the hell did I even get here?! My face may not have any expressions, but right now my eyes were wide open and frozen.

Wait, when am I here?! And what are Kotaro's people doing all the way in the southern regions of Nohr?! What the hell is going on?!

I then heard scrapping noise on the ground behind me. I quickly snapped my head back to them to see that they were trying to escape. I growled in anger and whipped out my my two Soulfire Chains, and as if on instinct, they wrapped around both these dudes like snakes capturing their prey. I pulled them both back to me and lifted them off their feet to face me.

"We're not done yet! What does Kotaro want out here?!" Last I recalled, Kotaro was your enemy, no matter what route you took. He always just stayed at home. So whats his people doing all the way out here?

"H-he wants to establish… c-c-control in the lower regions within Nestra, without Nohr or Hoshido interfering." The ninja spoke again. Hoping that if he gave this demon what it wants, it may let him live.

"Why?! Whats so damn important here that he would want control of these lands?!" None of this was still making any sense. None of this was mentioned in game.

"There w-were rumors spreading… that a few years ago… a-a Hoshidan princess was kidnapped when the King Sumeragi was k-k-killed by King Garon himself." Mohawk man spoke this time. So Corrin is a female in this world. Who else could it be? There was supposed to be some sort of peace treaty talk in Cheve, but it turned into a trap, killing Sumeragi. He said a few years? Does that mean I'm here very early? Corrin was a child when they were kidnapped. So they may still be very young. Before I could clarify, the ninja picked up where Mohawk man left off.

"After that, t-tensions between Hoshido and Nohr grew. Other kingdoms, tribes, nations, and territories were getting mixed in with t-the conflict. Some tried to stay neutral in all of this. A few skirmishes here and there. But then the Hoshidan Queen, Mikoto, put up a magical barrier around Hoshido that prevented any Nohrians from fighting if they went through it."

"T-the-the fighting stopped for now, but Lord Kotaro b-believes that war will spark again. W-with the southern regions of both Nohr and Hoshido under his control, he could turn the tide in his favor, by siding with wh-whoever is winning or whoever benefits him the most."

Thats… actually pretty smart, in a way. Let two sides duke it out, while you wait on the sidelines, then step to help the one that is winning. Although Nohr is bigger than Hoshido, both in land and army, there is a rebellion that is standing in the way of all of that. But where are they gonna get more manpower to do all that? Mokushu is pretty small. As if reading my mind, Mohawk man answered that question.

"H-he's also gathering every mercenary he can hire. His… his people would act as the scouts, telling us where we s-set up bases for him. In return, w-we get as many and easy villages to raid."

Well that answers that question. In fact, I'd say I'm all caught up with everything now.

"Thats all we know, I swear! Now let me go freak!!" For once, I, myself, feel no regret for what I'm about to do next. I dropped the ninja to the ground and turned to Mohawk man, for face would be the last thing he would see.

"Sure, I'll let you go…" I then grabbed him by the head and made him face me "… I'm gonna let you both go to hell! NOW, LOOK INTO MY EYES!!!"

I stared into his eyes, using my Penance Stare. He could not look away, no matter how hard he tried. My powers began to kick in. Every sinful act that this man had committed began to come back to him. Every person he has betrayed, murdered, violated, stolen, mocked, all began to flow back to him. He could feel every emotion conflicting with one another. He screamed so loud in fear, pain, sorrow. That wasn't only thing he was feeling. My Soulfire Chains began to burn him alive. He was feeling all sorts of pain, physically and emotionally.

Very soon after, he was nothing but a burnt husk. Judgement has been passed to the sinner. I could hear heavy breathing to the side, turned my head to see that it was the ninja. Oh yeah, forgot about him. Guy was shaking like crazy and… did he just piss himself? Oh God, really dude!? Doesn't matter now as I dropped the burnt corpse and walked towards him.

"Now its your turn!"

My face would be the last he would see and my words would be the last he would hear in this miserable life of his.

*End Flashback*

I stopped flipping the small coin and just held it in my hand. Took a deep breathe, held it in for a few seconds… and let it out.

"…*sigh* after that, I managed to find a wagon big enough to get the people in and attached it to my horse. The ride took us till morning to get back. Questions were asked here and there on the way over. I answered them to lessen the tensions that were still there. No doubt they heard the screaming in the cave. All that matters was that they were safe, back with their families, and the nightmare was over… for now at least."

By the time we got back, the dead were buried, homes repaired, but relief came when they saw that the others were safe.

I combed my fingers through my hair, still trying to comprehend everything that I learned yesterday. I'm in a Fire Emblem game, Fates to be exact.

"I appear to be more than a few years early before the main campaign begins. Corrin is still a child, but that also means that the royal families and everyone else are still young. It'll be years until they reach their age for the war that will come. Only problem is, which side will Corrin choose? Birthright or Conquest? Family or Loyalty? Who knows, even I don't know where to go with all this. Normally, anyone would choose Revelation route to keep everyone alive… well, almost everyone. I doubt those THREE from Awakening have shown up yet, otherwise they would be at a much older age by the time the Nohrian royals grew up. I have to say, at first I thought the idea of having them mixed into the story was fine, but later on, it just didn't make any sense! Neither did the baby realm!"

"I'm getting off topic. Right now, I must get to Nestra. After I had informed Ronald about Mokushu's plan, he suggested that I should travel to Nestra and inform the royals about the recent attacks and their plans. Luckily, I found some documents among the brigands and ninjas that may convince them… albeit they are a little burnt and bloodied. But first, something needs to be done about this village so that it doesn't allow itself to fall victim to another attack…"

My thoughts were then interrupted when I heard knocking on my door. I looked outside the window to see that it was already dark outside. I decided now was a good time to end my recording. I'm guessing it had to be the village chief as I walked up to the door and opened it. Yep, it was Ronald alright!

"Midas Sir, how is the room? I hope it is to your liking." This guy, or probably everyone here, thinks I must be some sort of noble based on my appearance. And they're not wrong in a way, I do, or did, own the agency, ran a spy operation, and owned a yacht. But right now, I am just Midas… with good looks and nice clothing.

"Just call me Midas. There is no need to address me as sir." I responded kindly with Midas' voice. "But this room is more than enough to suffice. Thank you."

"Well, I am glad to hear that. I just came by to inform you that the village has set up a feast for saving us from those brigands."

"How generous of you." I followed him outside. It was already night as the stars could be seen. Torches lit around the village, tables with food and drinks, and a big fire place could be seen in, what I believed to be the center of this village. Geez! They didn't have to go this far. This is really like those moments you see in anime and manga where the protagonist doesn't like getting attention, even after they save the day. Well, thats how I'm feeling right now, but hey, I won't say no to free food.

The people were happy, food was good (Thank God!), and they even had booze. Good! Need something to kill my brain cells after this whole crazy Isekai trip that I've taken so far.

The villagers smiled, laughed, even danced around. I guess some people have their own ways to cope with loss or the fact that they lived through what could have been their last days in this life… this fantasy, digital, Nintendo life.

A few brave souls did approach me to give their thanks. The most noticeable ones were the the young girl and father I saved the first time, the little boy I saved from being stabbed, and the woman I saved from those two guys when I entered the cave. Apparently they're a family, who just so happened to have gotten separated from each other during the chaos. The little boy was Jona, the older girl is Mira, and the parents were Derek and Samantha. Jona was the most vocal, acting like a big fan recalling how I fought the "bad guys".

It didn't end there of course. Little Jona came back again, but with friends this time. Kids around his age and height. Each of them did their own story telling of how I saved their village, though most of it seemed exaggerated. Calling me mister or sir, I'll admit, it was kinda cute hearing their little voices praising me. I never really got that much attention back home. But honestly, I just wanted to drink to get my mind off of things that have been happening.

Even though those dead thugs have already confirmed what fantasy universe I'm in, I needed more information. I could have asked the villagers from the beginning after saving their homes, but they were still in shock at the time, recovering from the attack, and wanted their people back.

So I spent most of the evening talking to Ronald, and from what the old man told me, Corrin was indeed female and a little girl, so she must be either 10 or younger. I'm thinking younger than that, has to be. And this was a few years ago, so by now, she should be in her pre-teens, so she still has many years to go before she goes out into the world. Which also means that the royal families are still young as well. However, when I asked if there was anyone from the Nohrian family that was kidnapped, I was referring to Azura, Ronald hasn't heard any news from others outside the village recently about another kidnapping.

"If you wish to know more about these lands, I believe your best option is to go to the Kingdom of Nestra. It is there they may know more of what is happening between Nohr and Hoshido." Ronald explained as he stroked his beard. "I would be careful when you arrive though, their neutrality has made it easy for some of the… unfriendly of the sorts to seep into their home."

"I appreciate the advice Ronald, I'll be sure to stay aware of my surroundings." I looked around the village, mostly the outside of it, and noticed that there were no walls, not even fences to protect this place. "This village has no guards, or any protection from outside threats?"

"For many years, this village has lived in peace. The only "attacks" we've ever had were just a fe wild animals. We hardly get any visitors here either, just a few travelers and merchants stopping by for a few hours." Merchants huh? I wonder if Anna was one of them. I then thought back to the safety of the village… maybe I can do something about it. "Although, after what happened today, we may have to consider putting a wall around the village to prevent another attack. I'll speak to everyone tomorrow about it." A wall doesn't sound like a bad idea.

We went back to the rest of the party-goers. Words were exchanged between me and some of the other villagers. Some even asked about the weapons I used, my inventory ability, and even my golden powers again. The golden thing was easy, just had to use my (fake) origin story. The weapons and inventory were a little hard to explain. I explained the best I could without giving too much crucial details about the weapons. I mostly explained that they were made back in my homeland. Mostly said that they were like crossbows, but faster and stronger.

The inventory ability was a bit more confusing and harder to explain. The best I could say was that it was a magical ability, some spacial dimension that uses magic to store anything. Though I did add that there is a limit to how much I can take. That part was true, since back in the game, there was a limit to how much ammo, mats, items, and weapons that I could carry. But of course, that wasn't the case here, as everything seemed to be infinite… except for mats. Some even asked if it was possible to learn such "magic". I simply told them, "Not from any mage."

I also noticed a few of the adult women staring at me. Any time I caught them doing that, they would look away, breaking any eye contact they almost had with me, faces red too. Huh, weird, must be the scar on my eye that intimidates them.

To be honest, I'm just glad to finally have some human interaction after being alone for so long.

]

*Later, early morning, before sunrise…*

I woke up with a groan, still stuck as Midas, it was still pretty dark outside. Good. This was perfect for what I was about to do.

I walked quietly outside, not wanting to wake anyone up. The whole village fell asleep after the party last night. There was not even a group outside to lookout for any other bandits. Man these people must be sloppy. I'll need to fix that, but first, I need to gather some mats. Lots of it.

I summoned my pickaxe, and walked outside the village, and into the forest.

]

"Phew… that should do it." I wiped the sweat from my head and checked my mat inventory. After harvesting a lot of trees and rocks, I had around a thousand for each, except for metal. Can't find any of that in the forest. Maybe I can turn swords and armors into metal mats… who knows. I got what I needed, now for the next part.

I'll be honest, for a simple village, it was pretty big. Probably big enough for a college university to fit in. I checked around again, no one was awake. Just as I had hoped for.

Normally, I wouldn't let things like this be my problem. Just walk away, ignore it, not like I can do anything about it. Thats how it always was back home. But after all that had happened to these people, they at least deserve something that will provide them some form of comfort and safety. Not to mention they were kind enough to take me in.

So, I discreetly changed my skin to LazarBeam. He may be a YouTuber now, but he was a construction worker before. And these skins do carry skill sets, these outfits aren't just for show.

"Alrighty then, lets do this." I said with some excitement and an accent.

With my pencil and blueprint paper in my hands, I got started.

]

"Hmmmm… well, I'd say this is a job well done." I clapped my hands together, dusting off any dirt I may have gotten from the work I just finished. It took hours, but it was done. Sun was starting to rise, and the people would be up soon..

A good 30 ft tall brick wall around the village, at least 8 ft thick, with a layer of wood from the inside.

"Although, this could use some stairs for lookouts." Verifying this, I decided to make some last minute additions to the wall. I can't tell if this is cheating or what, but making these builds were a whole lot easier with a construction worker.

The best part was that I was able to adjust the measurements and shapes of the builds a lot more than what the games could do. Not only that, but the builds look more… organized. The bricks weren't stacked, but cemented together. Wood wasn't just branches, but also long and flat. Turns out that I can change the appearances of the mats that I use too. I'll need to look into this more in the future.

Just as I was finishing, I could hear doors starting to open and footsteps around the village. I quickly changed back to Midas before anyone could see. My weapons, golden powers, and inventory abilities are fine to show anyone as they all have already seen them. Showing them my building abilities wouldn't hurt either. But my shapeshifting powers would be enough to scare the hell out of them and maybe even distrust me!

"WHOOOAAA!!"

I didn't need to turn around to know that it was Jona who was react to my builds that I was finishing up. His excitement got the attention of the rest of the villagers around him. Although I couldn't tell if his reaction was towards the walls or the floating mats that were making the stairs. Doesn't matter anymore, they're all here now.

Words were going everywhere. Questions in the air about how a wall was made around their village. People wanted to know what and how this happened. The first to approach and ask was none other than Ronald, the Village Chief.

"What is all this? Did-did you do all this?" Ronald was very surprised at the fact a wall was made so fast.

"Well, you did mention, last night, that this village would need protection." My back still turned to him, I scribbled on the blueprint a few more times, watching the wood float around, shape itself, and form around the wall. People were in awe once again.

"What sorcery is this?" Ronald asked. Heh! Never thought I'd hear that old quote here.

"Another one of my abilities called Build." After the last steps were made, it was all finished. I put away my blueprint and pencil, and looked at the wall. Much better now. I took in the work that I have finally completed. A strong stone/brick wall around the village, reinforced with wood and stairs to lead up to the top of the wall. Perfect for archers to shoot any intruders. There were four wooden gates around the wall, allowing access in and out of the village. Big enough for wagons to go through.

"You never mentioned that you were capable of performing magic such as this!" Ronald stated, as if he couldn't decide which of my powers were more special. Gold or Building?

"You simply never asked." I replied back with a smirk.

"Is there anything else you can do Mr. Midas?" Jona was already up close, I swear his eyes were sparkling with wonder, literally.

"Oh, there are plenty of more that I am capable of…" I pat him on the head as a good gesture. "… but I'm afraid that is for another time, for I am departing from this village today, and traveling to the Kingdom of Nestra."

The people were a little surprised by this, but were quick to understand. After all, I'm not a resident here, just your average "traveler".

Before I left with my horse, many of the villagers provided me with provisions, a lot of it, for my travels as more thanks for the wall I created. Thank goodness my inventory appears limitless.

There was just one issue that prevented me from leaving. It was male, small, on the verge of crying, and clinging to my right leg. It was little Jona, not wanting me to leave. His family was trying to get him off me, but were unsuccessful. That boy would not let go. I've only known this kid for five minutes and he's already attached to me?! This isn't anime you know! No, it's not! Its just a game! As far as I can remember, the only Fire Emblem game that got an anime adaptation was the one with Marth, or was it the other way around? They had both from what I can tell. Anyway…

With a sigh, I gently pried Jona from my leg, held him by the shoulders and knelt before him, face to face.

"Jona, you know I can't stay here. I have to find my way back home." I tried to explain as nice as possible. Without trying to make him cry. Unfortunately, he was still not happy about it. Staring at the ground, pouting. I swear, I've never had any kid that liked me this much. Not even my nieces and nephews cared that much.

I had no plans on staying, nor come back. But one of those may have to change, if it means to get the kid not to feel too upset. With another sigh, I performed the Coin Flip emote once again, flipping the small coin in the air and catching it as it landed in my palm. I then held the coin between my index and middle finger, turning it for the boy to see both Ghost and Shadow. His expression went from depression to wonder in an instant.

"This coin," I held it close for him to see "is very significant to me. For it holds a long story of my people's history. If you wish to know more, you'll have to hold onto it until I return." I dropped it in his hands, which he managed to catch. Held it close to his eyes to look at it more. "Can you do that for me Jona?"

Jona held the coin tight in his hand, and looked back at me, with more confidence this time, no more of the little crybaby that he was just minutes ago. "Yes sir Mister Midas!" He replied with a smile. He really needs to stop calling me Mister and Sir. Makes me fell really old… wait.

With that, I pat him on the head one last time, said my goodbyes, got on my horse, and left.

As I rode out, I turned my head back one last time to see they were all waving goodbye, Jona being up at the front and more noticeable. I smiled and waved back, before turning back up front and nudged my horse to go faster.

We went faster until the village was no longer visible.

This is still a lot for me to take in. Woke up with Fire Emblem Fates, years early, and with Fortnite powers. Yeah, nothing about this seems normal. Then again, any Isekai anime/manga adventures never make any sense. Always about mixing things that can't be explained so easily and just rolling with it.

Right now, my main concern should be informing the authorities of Nestra about Mokushu's invasion/takeover attempts. Huh, who are the royals of Nestra? I don't think the game ever mentioned it. And since I'm here, I should probably think of ways to change the future of Anankos' plans too. Otherwise, we'll all end up dead. How though?

Well, I'm here early. Which means I have plenty of time to think and do.

Soooo….. what should I do first?

Author's Note:

Holy! First let me say that this year so far has been very harsh, rough, and so much going on! In and around my life. It has been hard for me to catch up on everything. Let me say that I am still working on this and have a lot of ideas planned for the future. It just may take a while to write and update.

So, Nick Hernandez is now aware that he is in Fire Emblem, Fates to be exact. But he is years early before the main events occur. And he plans to change them, by a lot.

I plan to have him use other characters, it will just take some time to find the right moment to use them. There is still a lot of Fortnite abilities that I plan to show in the future too.

Please let me know what you think so far and what I cam do to improve/change it.

I am also working on a Ben 10 Series Crossover. Its a different version of Ben 10 that I'm writing on FanFiction. "Traversing into the Omniverse". Please check it out, I would love some critiques/inputs.

Til next time!
