CHAPTER 6 - A BUDDING RELATIONSHIP
That night, both Kamiko and Mondo couldn't sleep. They kept replaying the events of the night through their mind. Kamiko picked up her phone, wanting to text him. She didn't want to seem too clingy, though.
"Oh, what the hell..." she muttered to herself as she clicked on his contact and typed out her message.
Mondo, who had just come out of the shower, heard his phone's notification sound. He rushed to it, hoping it was his new girlfriend. Sure enough it was. He started reading her message as he went to lay down in his bed.
Kamiko: Did you get home safe?
Mondo: Yeah. You're still awake
Kamiko: How could I sleep after what happened
Mondo: What happened? 😉
Kamiko: Playing dumb with me? 😂 Very cute
Mondo: I don't know what you're talking about 😇 Are you in bed right now?
Kamiko: Yeah you?

They then both tried to fall asleep to the best of their abilities. The next day, even though Kamiko had to drag herself out of bed, she was more than happy to do it. She decided to doll up a bit more than usual to enhance her natural beauty. Just thinking about seeing Mondo made her heart beat fast with excitement.
Mondo woke up quite easily, really looking forward to the day. It was the first time he was this motivated to get to school. He was going to see his girlfriend today. At the thought of Kamiko being his girlfriend, he couldn't help the goofy smile that appeared on his face. He quickly got ready, spending most of his time getting his signature hairstyle as perfect as possible. He then hopped on his motorcycle and headed to school.
When Kamiko got out of her family's golden Rolls-Royce, everyone was looking and even staring at her. She was definitely very well-known by then. It was almost like she became a local celebrity at Hope's Peak Academy. Some students even went up to her to ask for a picture.
"Haha, you're too sweet, but I'm in a bit of a hurry, sorry about that," she would reply to them, always trying to be as pleasant and friendly as possible, since that was what was drilled into her since she was born.
As she was trying to get inside the school, avoiding everyone as much as possible, she felt someone's arms wrap around her waist from behind. From his fresh cologne smell to the slight motor oil whiff that she got, she knew exactly who it was and it gave her the most intense butterflies in her stomach.
"Mondo...!" She exclaimed happily.
"Did you sleep well, princess?" he whispered in her ear, making her feel like she was melting. The feeling of his hard erection touching her right above her butt did not help in calming her heart rate either.
"No, I was too eager to see you," she replied with a shaky voice.
He chuckled and spun her around, giving her a deep kiss on the lips right in front of everyone. A whole bunch of squeals, gasps and whispers could be heard from the other students. After Mondo was done kissing his girlfriend, he held her close by her waist and glared at everyone around.
"If it wasn't clear enough, Kamiko is my woman," he shouted out, "I see any of you fuckers try anything or bother her at all and you'll be not only answering to me, but all my buddies from the Crazy Diamonds. Got that?"
Kamiko couldn't believe he had just done that. She found it so unbelievably hot that it made her knees weak.
"You better keep holding on to me because I feel all weak from how incredibly sexy your declaration was," Kamiko moaned in his ear. "Aaah!" she then exclaimed as he swept her off her feet, literally.
Mondo was now carrying her, princess-style, and heading to their classroom.
"Better?" he smirked and glanced at her while walking with her in his arms.
"Depends. Is it better that I'm even more turned on now than before you picked me up?" She whispered that last part, making sure nobody else could hear her, making Mondo chuckle.
He let her down in front of the classroom's door. As they entered, everyone else was already there.
Nagito had witnessed the whole scene unfold between Mondo and Kamiko. He didn't feel too good about seeing them so close. Now she was officially taken from him. Would he ever have the opportunity to be in her presence again? His heart squeezed painfully. He wondered why he was so upset about this. He knew that Mondo was definitely more worthy than him to be by Kamiko's side. But he just couldn't seem to let go.
Kamiko spent her lunch with the same group of people as the previous day. This time, however, she was sitting next to Mondo, across from Chihiro and Leon.
"Gosh you two are so cheesy, I swear," Leon chuckled, recounting the events of the morning.
"It was so brave and romantic, though," Chihiro replied, "it seems like something good happened between you two last night."
"Oh yeah, It was a very fun night," Kamiko chirped in.
"Just fun?" Mondo asked as he nuzzled her ear, causing her to blush and giggle.
"Fun... and hot..." Kamiko elaborated.
"Did you two actually... go all the way?" Leon asked with a grin.
"No, but we could've," Mondo replied casually.
Chihiro gasped and blushed at how brazen Mondo and Kamiko were.
"What a shame, though. The Ultimate Hope has been taken away by the school delinquent," Leon teased Mondo, "guess she's really into the bad boys. Would I have stood a chance if I had my own motorcycle?"
"Stop talking shit, dumbass," Mondo retorted while chuckling.
They all laughed. Even though this group started because Kamiko was trying to get closer to Mondo, they all enjoyed each other's company and got along fairly well.
