Hyrulian Hero Akai: eye twitches Magandramon... is Gatomon's canon Mega. Holy Dragon's are a thing. And Magandramon is part of Gatomon's lines thematic of Holy BEASTS. And Ophanimon is not badass. Because her entire point is JUST to exist to be there alongside Seraphimon. And the only reason people WANT Ophanimon as Gatomon's Mega is because of the TK/Kari pairing.

Neo Infinity: Ophanimon is NOT stronger than Magandramon. They are on par at best. And Magandramon is Gatomon's CANON MEGA FORM in the Adventure time line! It's like saying you are surprised Agumon turned into WARGREYMON!

Toa Solaric: Because Magandramon is the canon Mega Form. Because Ophanimon exists for the TK/Kari ship. Because Ophanimon is boring, especially when she is literally right next to Seraphimon. Because it looks bad in the group shot with the other partners Mega's. I am pretty sure I have spoken about this before this chapter but... shrugs

Toa Solaric: Okay, first of all... we had to break the tradition of Leomon's getting killed each season, it hurts each time. Secondly, Gatomon's first Mega has always been Magnadramon, it appeared in the first Digimon Movie (Or 02 Hurricane, for anyone who wants the Japanese). Ophanimon is a 'retcon' to the line, to make her more connected to the Holy Angel Lines. But if we look at Cherubimon, that thing isn't a 'traditional angel', it's a big pudgy rabbit-clown-looking thing!

Here we go with the newest chapter, as we enter the final third of the story
This fifth film is gonna have a lot of exposition, partially because this was the only film we could fit it in and keep up the high pace
Plus with each film being its own small naritive, we where always building up to this final naritive. Each of the six films being split into three pairs. 1 and 2 focusing on them learning about the new danger, 3 and 4 them going to the Digital World and learn about it, with 5 and 6 them taking it on

Meiko was crying, her best friend had betrayed them. Her partner. But then... was she ever on their side?

They had been captured easily by UltimateChaosmon, they tried to fight back. But it was like trying to stop a typhoon with a paper fan. No one even remembered what had happened. They had just awoken here.
"Ow. Everything hurts." Bukamon groaned as he was with Joe.
"Please mama... No more..." Tanemon mumbled
"Tanemon." Mimi frowned, as she cradled her.
"S-Sora. It's so dark." Yokomon whispered as she shuddered.
"I know Yokomon." Sora soothed softly
"TK." Tokomon whimpered as he was with TK in a corner.
"It's okay, Tokomon. It'll be okay." TK responded.
"Is everyone here?" Tai asked, grunting as he and Koromon were a little more worse for wear.
"Yeah, everyone's here." Matt nodded in agreement
"Tai, we-we got beat." Izzy whispered. "That wasn't even."
"Yeah, I know." Tai answered.
"That guy... We where exhausted. We couldn't fight back if we tried."
"Where do you think we are?" Tsunomon asked.
"In a dungeon. That's where we are." Motimon shivered.
"Yeah, but... where?" He repeated.
"Not sure. But we'll... figure something out." Matt answered as he gave his partner a head pat
"Meiko?" Kari asked while approaching the glasses wearing girl
Meiko looked catatonic, she had lost her... not her partner. But the Digimon who she was with. Had she been her partner? For some reason her head hurt. And her heart was numb. Her best friend betrayed them. How? Why? Was it fake? Was all they went through just a means for UltimateChaosmon? No, no. That couldn't be. They knew each other for years...
Right?
Kari could see the conflict and silence within her, this was the same sort of thing she went through. Kari quietly hugged her in the cell and tried to comfort her.
"Can anyone see a key or anything?" Mimi asked.
"I think these bars are pure Chrome Digizoid. There's not much we can do right now." Izzy answered. "Aaand... Oh, they DIDN'T take my laptop."
"That's weird." Salamon commented
"Maybe they're just over confident?" Koromon shrugged
"I'm not sure. But I'm not going to wait around for them to ruin this." Izzy answered. He quickly sat down and pulled his laptop out, turning it on The screen looked a little cracked, but the main systems were all fine. "A little banged up, but it's fine." He muttered to himself.
"That's good." Tai muttered in hope
Izzy's fingers began typing as fast as possible, doing his best to try and get some information where they were. The obvious thing being to locate where they were.
"Is anyone hurt? I think I've got some bandages." Joe spoke, trying to help while Izzy was working.
"Hungry more than anything." Koromon answered with the other Digimon agreeing
"Miss Meiko? Do we have our supplies?" Tokomon asked politely, trying not to be harsh.
Meiko shrugged into herself a little more, realising that she wasn't meant to be there. She was a nobody in a group of somebodies. Just the 'baggage girl'.
Tokomon frowned, realising that he had put his paws into his mouth, when he honestly didn't mean to.
Kari frowned, kissing Meiko's forehead gently. Soothing her as best she could.
"It's okay, Meiko." Sora urged gently. Encouragingly.
"It's not your fault, Tokomon." TK reassured his partner.
"Any updates, Izzy?" Matt asked.
"Still looking." He answered, trying to get a map of the area
...
"Server."
"Server?" Matt double took.
"We're on the continent?" Tai added.
"That's a long trip." Sora blinked
"We must've been knocked out for ages." Joe commented.
"And yet we're still here. Our stuff is still with us and we're not all separated." TK added. "Do you think they don't care?"
"I think they think they've won." Izzy answered. "UltimateChaosmon was too large for us to do any real damage to it."
"Or you have no chance." A dark voice spoke... And Dark Gennai approached them.
"You...!" Tai growled, gripping the bars of the cell as he saw him.
"Hello Tai, how's SkullGreymon doing?" Dark Gennai mocked
"Here to gloat, Faker?" Matt glared. "If so, you can save it."
"Faker?" Dark Gennai laughed "I'm still the same old fool you always knew! The same one you fought alongside! The one who gave you the cards to activate the gate within Myotisemon's castle! I believe you kept the Agumon card, did you not Tai?"
Tai flinched and looked at Koromon, who looked back at him. "Yeah... I did."
"Then... What happened?" Izzy asked
"Simple! I tried to keep you all away, to keep you safe! I locked the gate, and kept it sealed tight!" Gennai laughed "I closed it off three years ago to protect you all! I ran, I hid, I helped... And eventually he found me! And he showed me the truth of his power!"

"H-Huh?" Mimi blinked, looking close. And sure enough... He was crying. Gennai... Was crying as he laughed like a generic evil villain. Like his mind and body where having two different conversations
"UltimateChaosmon found me, showed me what he was capable of. And how much this world needed to be..." Gennai spoke, tears still dripping from his eyes. "Well... you've seen."
"Destroyed?" Salamon hissed
"Exactly!" Gennai cheered

And a cold silence filled the cell
The DigiDestined couldn't believe that this was their ally and friend Gennai. No, this was the corruption and madness that afflicted him by UltimateChaosmon.
Meiko looked up at the inflicted man and was quietly crying.
"UltimateChaosmon... Wants to destroy the world?" Joe asked
"BOTH worlds!" Gennai grinned... And they could see the pain in his eyes "Can't you imagine it? A beautiful void? No more worlds. No more humans. No more Digimon. A perfect existence of nothingness!" Gennai answered "It is all he desires! It is his reason for living!"
"Where... Is Meicoomon?" Meiko asked
Gennai looked at Meiko, turned to her and smirked. "Why do you care? She is an agent for My Lord."
"WHERE IS MY CAT, YOU ASSHOLE?!" Meiko screamed out in... Well, in pure horror

"Well, well. You have some claws." Gennai commented. "She's fine. She's with My Lord." He waved his hand, turning around "She will see you when she feels like it. For now... Enjoy your room mate~!" He sang, walking away
"TELL ME WHERE SHE IS!" She cried, wanting to grab the bars and almost crawled but Gennai was already gone
"Meiko, Meiko, calm down sweetie!" Mimi urged, hugging her
"Where is she? Tell me!" Meiko began to break down in their arms. "Ple-he-he-hease."
"Meiko." Tai said sadly, patting her head
"We're sorry." Tokomon commented
"Hey... not to interupt the mood or anything, but didn't he mention a 'room mate'?" Bukamon asked in concern

"What the hell is that?" Tsunomon asked as they all felt the rumble.
They all looked over to the side in horror... And saw a small purple creature sitting atop a pillar of crumbling rock. The creature looked like a cross between a dog, a bat and a dragon. Covered in purple cut with a white furred snout and paws, a large fluffy tail with a white tip and small black bat wings atop its back. And it looked... Injured.
"Wh-? What? Who is that?" Meiko asked in confusion.
"Dorumon." Izzy said, quickly checking his computer "A Rookie level Data type Digimon."
"Joe, think you can get to him?" Bukamon asked, being fully bandaged.
"No, he's too high up." Joe frowned
"So... You all made it." Dorumon commented, finally speaking
"Yeah, we made it. Why are you here?" TK asked.
"Thanks to the battle we had in the human world. You really did a number on me, hehe. Not surprised. But it weakened me. Caught me by surprise." Dorumon explained
"Wait. Are-are you Alphamon? Or were Alphamon?" Kari asked.
"What do you mean 'were'? I'm still 'Alphamon'." Dorumon answered, before wincing from the chains and pain. Chained to a large pillar of crumbling stone. The Digimon who was so powerful, who had taken thek to the edge... And he looked like he was barley alive.
"You look like a Rookie. No offence." Yokomon responded.
"I was speaking metaphorically." He answered.
"How did you get captured?" Kari asked.
"UltimateChaosmon. And Dark Gennai." Dorumon answered. "I'm the reason Gennai is how he is, technically. He acted as a distraction so I could slip through to the human world."
"Wait, what?" Joe asked. "How? What did you do?"
"I think it's best if Dorumon explains from the start." Izzy answered, trying to get all the info before everyone flew off the handle.
"You really are the smart one. The old Gennai spoke highly of you. But, to get to that, we need to explain how all this started." Dorumon frowned "UltimateChaosmon... Its goal is to absorb both the Digital World and the human world into itself, into a state of nothing. Into 'blissful silence'. I don't understand it. But Gennai knew that if it got to the human world, all would be doomed. So he sealed the gate."
"He sealed it?! Why didn't he call us?!" Yokomon gasped
"Because even then we feared... That UltimateChaosmon is invincible. So we sealed the human side of the gate off." Dorumon sighed "He destroyed our side of the gate instantly, but he could not destroy the other side of the gate as long as it was sealed."
"But because your gate was gone, the human world gate slowly eroded!" Matt gasped "Letting the Kuwagamon through! As well as others!"
"Yes. One other slipped through." Dorumon flinched "A servant of UltimateChaosmon, sent to kill you all in a stealth mission or to get you to the Digital World. Gennai and I discovered this, at the same time as the holes forming from the gate eroding. I came quickly, deleting the Kuwagamon at the other side before the activity could be noticed. Hoping UltimateChaosmon would not find out about the erosion... He knew before us."
"I see." Salamon frowned
"So... You and Gennai?" Sora asked
"To save you, we risked everything. He distracted UltimateChaosmon as I opened the gate and slipped through. Aiming to kill UltimateChaosmon's agent and then hurry back before you got involved." Dorumon flinched
"Meicoomon." Tai said, saying what they where all thinking
"Yes." Dorumon nodded sadly. "Meicoomon. She slipped through to the Human World, it was her goal to either kill you or to get you to come here. Either way, she's succeeded."
Meiko fell to the floor in heartbreak. Her Digimon, who she thought was her partner, wasn't. She was used, just to get close to the DigiDestined, just to help UltimateChaosmon. 'She was just. Using me. We were never friends.' Meiko thought to herself.
"And we fought you because we didn't know." TK frowned.
"Yes." Dorumon answered with a weak chuckle "I admit, you got some good shots off."
"Sorry about that." Koromon apologised.
"Don't worry about it." He responded. "We have to get out of here. And stop them before they destroy both our worlds."

"If I could get free of these darn chains." Dorumon snarled
"Why didn't you tell us? Why keep us out of it?" Mimi asked "Especially when you came to the human world?"
"Gennai didn't want you to be dragged into our mess. You have already sacrificed so much for us, we thought it would be good for you to live normal lives." Dorumon answered. "And if you joined the battle... It is likely you would have lost your lives by now. I was nearly killed when they attacked me as I returned. If my armour had not been in such a state, I could have escaped but... We all must face the penalties of our own choices."
"... The Alpha..." Izzy said as he looked down at his Digivice
"I'm sorry?" Dorumon asked.
"The Alpha symbol that has been appearing on our Digivices." Izzy realised. "It's possible that your armour has given us the ability to Mega Digivolve."
"If would make sense." Dorumon commented "My armour, my power, would be enough of a conduit to allow for some manipulation."
"So... it wasn't our power which let us Digivolve further, but yours?" Tanemon asked.
"It doesn't mean that it wasn't there. You just needed the push." Dorumon answered. "Achieving Ultimate, or Mega, it requires a key to open the lock. Something that defies nature. And once that lock is undone, you can freely pass through."
"So basically... Ultimate and Mega need something ELSE to unlock. But WE have to push the door open?" Salamon asked
"Exactly." Dorumon nodded
"Er... we're all good now though, right?" Motimon asked.
"Yes." Dorumon nodded.
"No! No we're not!" Meiko yelled as she stood up "Because I don't believe you!"
Dorumon sighed heavily as Meiko poured her heart out. This young girl was angry as she was brought into a world that she felt like it didn't need her.
"Meicoomon has been with me for YEARS! YEARS! This isn't some new thing! She isn't... What... Whatever you THINK she is! I don't care what you think she is, either! She's not LIKE that! She's my best friend!" Meiko snapped as tears poured down her face "She's always been there for me! And YOU came out of nowehere trying to kill her! I don't believe you! Something must have happened to her! She's... She's mind controled! Or infected by something! Or-or-or SOMETHIG! She isn't herself anymore! But Meicoomon would NEVER work for that monster! NEVER!"
Dorumon frowned as he heard that. "Tell me; Meiko, was it? Have you ever felt like some things didn't add up?"
"W-What?" she gasped out, her rant just... stopping
"Have you any proof that you and she have been friends for 'years'; as you put it?" Dorumon asked. "Pictures? Videos? Any physical proof that she has been part of your family for that length of time?"
"I-She-She's the one always taking the pictures! She's camera shy!" Meiko snapped
"Is that so? But what about other people? Do they know she exists besides this group?" Dorumon asked.
"O-Of course they-" Meiko tried to think of anyone else who might've taken notice of Meicoomon. Her parents, school friends, other people... but no. There... there was no-one. Her family saw Meicoomon every day. But they never really spoke ABOUT her...
"She. Lied. Didn't she?" Kari asked sadly. "Meicoomon lied to everyone."
"It's what she does." Dorumon nodded slowly.
"Her Digivice." TK spoke out
"Huh?" the others blinked
"When Meicoomon was Digivolved, Meiko's Digivice wasn't glowing. She hasn't got a Crest or a DNA partner or... anything." TK commented "I found it weird but I didn't get a chance to say anything."
"Like she wasn't connected." Joe thought aloud
"Meicoomon must have an ability like my Cat's Eye Hypnotism. She rewrote Meiko's memories." Salamon mumbled in realisation and anger
"NO!" She yelled, Meiko clearly eratic as she held her head
Sora and Mimi went over and held Meiko in their arms as they didn't know what else to do. Meiko's whole life was getting undone by this one Digimon who wanted the destruction of both worlds.
"This is all kinds of messed up." TK frowned
"No kidding, bro." Matt frowned as his head tapped against the bars.
"We can't just stay here. We have to stop them." Koromon answered.
"With what? You saw how immense UltimateChaosmon was. It took all of us just to lock him away last time." Dorumon frowned.
...
"Lock him away?" Koromon asked
"Last time?" Tsunomon added
"I am one of a group of powerful Digimon. The Royal Knights. We were founded by a Digimon called 'Imperialdramon'. We were brought together to protect the Digital World... and just as old." Dorumon explained.
...
"I'm sorry. What?" Bukamon blinked
"Imperialdramon? Veemon and Wormmon? What?" Izzy blinked, trying to piece everything together
"It's a long story." Dorumon answered. "When the Digital World was formed, there were the Sovereigns. But destructive power was seeping through the world. All to either conquer or destroy it, UltimateChaosmon was such a power."
"UltimateChaosmon is so old?" Motimon asked
"Yes, after it was revealed to the denizens of the Digital World, there were the Humans like Gennai who thought they could destroy him." Dorumon explained. "Long, long ago the Soverines and the Digital Humans where some of the first beings. Following them where Digimon. UltimateChaosmon... Was not an actual Digimon at first. But it was the recycle function of the world. It was the system made that reincarnated Digimon when they died, sending their data out back to Primary Village. But some pieces of data... Got 'loose'. It stuck to the..."
"To the 'recycle bin'?" Izzy asked
"Yes, exactly. Each tiny scrap of data that was left from the recycling slowly formed into a being that went mad. Its creation in such a function made it without purpose, neither Digimon nor system. It wanted nothing but nothingness itself." Dorumon answered. "And so... It attacked. Trying to destroy everything. The Soverines gave power to one Digimon to try and fight it, but Imperialdramon Paladin Mode was not strong enough. Not nearly enough. So the Paladin recruited a council of thirteen knights. The Royal Knights. With myself as the first."
"Seriously? That's amazing." Bukamon commented.
"So you say. But there were others among us. Strong in our own right. And honourable... my friends." Dorumon sighed. "My brothers. The final member of our team however... Was Omegamon."
Koromon and Tsunemon's eyes widened as they heard that. 'Omegamon'? Their form? "Y-You mean us?" Koromon asked.
"Possibly. You two were the first to reach Mega. And also the first to DNA Digivolve in millennia." Dorumon answered. "BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon gained their power as Imperialdramon passed his powers down, the Paladin sword becoming their shared mody as they became the final knight."
"Blitz... Greymon?" Tai blinked while looking down at his Digivice
"Cres... Garurumon?" Matt questioned, the two looking at each other in confusion while looking at Tsunomon
"Not to sound stupid, but... those Digimon, are they Metal Greymon and WereGarurumon's natural evolutions? Or a variant?" Izzy asked.
"Yes. In a way." Dorumon nodded
"What are you talking about, Izzy?" Sora asked
"It is a theory I have had in years. A theory from a few aspects and sources." Izzy explained "I mean the Arrows of Light, the first transformation being a Warp Digivolution, the fact MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon swap specialties, the fact the two Mega's seem more like their Rookies than their Ultimate forms."
"Yeah. When you mention it." Joe hummed "There is a distinct difference between MetalGreymon to WarGreymon compared to, say, Zudomon to Ikkakumon."
"Exactly." Izzy nodded "I have always had a theory that, since Digimon are data, their Digivolutions could be influinced. They where supposed to Digivolve one way, but outside influinces can shift the end result. Sort of like the SkullGrymon situation but on a bigger scale."
"So... we where supposed to have different Mega forms, but the Arrows of Hope and Light changed them?" Koromon asked
"That is my theory." Izzy nodded
"Back on topic." Dorumon stated, chuckling at Izzy's enthusasm
"Well, we're not going anywhere. We have time." Matt said with a huff
"Omegamon Alter-S was our final member." Dorumon continued "But even with all thirteen of us, we could not stop UltimateChaosmon. So, instead, we sealed him. And protected the Digital World for decades."
"Then, what happened next? What happened to the Knights?" Tokomon asked.
"Well. Digimon are not immortal. And eventually, our lives neared their ends." Dorumon explained "We could not afford to just reincarnate like everyone else. Not if there was another threat to our world. So we gave our DigiCore's to the Digital Humans."
"What happened to the Cores after that?" Joe asked. "And the Digital Humans?"
"Peace, for many many years." Dorumon answered. "Without UltimateChaosmon we weren't needed. But soon, a horrible fate came. Those who you call 'The Dark Masters'. They took advantage of our absence and used it to terrorise the Digital World."
"And the sealed the Soverines." Salamon nodded
"The Dark Master's... They served Apocolymon. How does he tie into all of this?" Joe asked
"Apocolymon... With UltimateChaosmon sealed, his function remained. But limited." Dorumon explained "As Gennai explained to me, while most data slipped through to be reincarnated ever so often some spare data got 'caught'. That data slowly building up and gaining its own mind, becoming Apocolymon."
...
"So... Apocolymon was the lint that builds up in the tumble dryers filter?" Mimi asked
"A... strange comparison. But yes. ... I think. I do not know what this tumble dryer you speak of is." Dorumon nodded. "Apocolymon is small compared to UltimateChaosmon."
"Great." Tai sighed "That massive monster... was like a fly to this beast."
"The Digital Humans... Refused to being us back." Dorumon frowned "Instead, creating your partner's."
"W-Wait, what?" Bukamon asked. "You mean we're just someone's backup plan?"
"No, you where their main plan." Dorumon shook his head "They where instructed to revive us. To bring the Knights back if we where ever needed. They thought they knew better and created the six of you. An act that I'd say, in the long run, made Digimon's lives better."
The In-Training Digimon felt a little better by that remark, being more helpful than not.
"Wait. 'Six'? You mean two of us weren't meant to be?" Salamon asked.
"You where. But you where a cheat, a short cut, to save time." Dorumon said as he looked at Koromon and Tsunomon
The two of them looked at each other and then back at Dorumon. They were the 'cheat'? "Damn, I can't believe it." Koromon whispered.
"So what, we are the original Omegamon? Some all powerful ancestor warrior thingy?" Tsunomon asked
"Damn. Sounds like a generic light novel." TK mumbled
"No." Dorumon shook his head "The Digital Humans took Omegamon's two DigiCore's and almost... Deconstructed them. Changed pieces around, threw out others while putting in new parts and put them back together. You are more like their children, or their great great grandchildren. I did not fully understand until Gennai came to mock me whole I was imprisoned. I thought you where then remade, reincarnated. That you'd have their memories. You where them. But you're not. You are your own Digimon based on their data."
"Well, that's good to know we're of just carbon copies of who we once were." Tsunomon responded "Or... Our parents where? This is weird."
"Tell me about it." Koromon nodded
"If you have food. Eat up. We need to hurry and get our of here." Dorumon instructed
"What food do we have left?" TK asked the group, trying not to put pressure on Meiko.
"I'll check." Kari said as she opened the girls bag, which was placed in the corner
"Several bags of crackers, a few tins of spam and tuna, some fruits from the forest, a few packs of instant noodles..." Meiko began to list off instinctively
The group listened in shock, Meiko had all this stuff memorised and in great detail. How could she think she wasn't needed? Sure she was rather new to the group. But from the very start, from how she wanted to help to how she helped to the small things she did to this. The group knew they could trust her. They could rely on her. So why didn't she think that of herself?
*Elsewhere*
We arrive outside of the prison, where a certain brown furred Cat-like Digimon was sitting over balcony.
It was Meicoomon, who was looking out at the desert around them. It was quiet up here, looking out at the empty expanse. She of course had to get used to seeing 'nothing'. It was her master's goal after all. But there was something... wrong. A pain in her heart. That time in the human world... She KNEW it changed her
After being with Meiko. It had given her a new perspective on her existence. A soft bed, a warm embrace, people she could be around.
She remembered how nice Meiko had always been
She felt... a level of security. A place to be. Almost calling her a fr-. She shook her head. She couldn't think like that. Meiko was just a target she used. Someone to get close to the Digidestined.

"I owe master my everything... After all." Meicoomon whispered
"Meicoomon, it seems you're admiring the view." Dark Gennai commented as he saw her up here.
"Yes, yes I am." she grumbled
"Isn't it wonderful? The emptiness. How this singular thing exists within nothing." Dark Gennai continued.
"I suppose."
"You 'suppose'? Where is the fire that you had? Do you not like working for our lord anymore?" Dark Gennai asked.
"I was working for him longer than you have." Meicoomon hissed
"So you have. But you could be a little more fervent about it." Dark Gennai responded.
"I obey my lord so his goals are achieved. It does not mean I celebrated every damn second." Meicoomon hissed "If you must know I am... Lementing the fact I will not taste the food Meiko's mother made ever again. The woman was a good cook." She lied
"Ah, I see. Well, we won't have to lament for long." Dark Gennai answered.
"I believe so." She nodded in agreement
"The Sovereigns and those lowly Megas and Ultimates won't stand for long. Our Lord will finally have this world erased." Gennai smiled.
'UltimateChaosmon really did a number on you; didn't he?' She thought with a heavy sigh. Gennai had been an emeny the last she came to the Digital World. And now to see him praising her master and treating her... not as an equal, but as a colleague. It was weird. It actually made her skin crawl.
"Have you been to see your former targets?" He asked. "It's pathetic to see how far they've fallen."
"Not yet, no." She flinched
"Oh, alright. Maybe there will be a good view from Primary Village when it's destroyed." Gennai commented.
"We're on Server. Primary Village is gone by now." She frowned.
"Right, right, of course." He nodded
"Look, could you just... I need a walk." Meicoomon asked as she got up, having her fill of Dark Gennai's insanity for today.
*Elsewhere*
We arrive back in the human world, where the D3 DigiDestined where worried "It's been days since we last got a call from them." Cody commented as he and Armadillomon sat on a chair. "Since they went to the Digital World..."
"Yeah, agreed." Ken frowned "It is worrying."
"We have to trust them...Oh, what am I saying? I'm as nervous as anyone here." Yolei tried to put on a brave face but admitted she was a wreck. She was even biting her thumb, mumbling to herself
"Davis, what do you think?" Veemon asked as he was quietly thinking.
...
"Snore~"
"DAVIS!" The group yelled at him.
"Bwah!" He leapt from his chair and fell off. "Ow! What the hell?!"
"You were sleeping while we're all worried sick about the others!" Yolei answered.
"How can you sleep right now?" Hawkmon added.
"It's a gift?" He responded.
"True, I've seen him almost sleep standing up." Veemon added.
"Look, my girlfriend is like six or eight hours ahead of us. When we have a good conversation, we tend to go for a while and I stay up later." Davis commented "However, I think you guys are over reacting."
"You-!... Might have a point." Cody frowned.

"Damn. I hate you're right." Yolei hissed
"I just don't like the fact that we're sitting here doing nothing." Ken admitted.
"To be fair. Is doing nothing means the place is safe." Wormon commented
"True, I guess we can count that as a blessing." Ken responded.
"Still. Can't help but wonder... What might be going on the other side." Cody whispered
*With the others*
"I've got it! I've got it!" Agumon called out, carefully tugging away at the chains. The group having managed to cut them, but now they had to untangle and remove them.
"Good work, Agumon." Tai smiled as they tried to puzzle their way out of this mess.
"It's like dealing with the wires behind the TV." TK mumbled
"I know that feeling." Matt agreed, his fingers trying to unloop hos own chains.
"Anyone got a bobby pin or something?" Palmon asked.
"It's not a spy movie, you know." Kari deadpanned.
One by one the chains cluttered on the ground, slowly freeing Dorumon
"Hnn, much better." Gomamon commented.
"That was squeezing my stomach." Patamon groaned.
"Hold on, we'll get you out of these." Biyomon added.
"Clever. Not breaking the Chrome Digizoid." Dorumon commented as he jumped off the pillar, his wings fluttering as he lowered himself to the ground
"Of course, we're not foolish enough to do that." Tentomon responded.
"Now. We better prepare ourselves..." Dorumon before be stopped and hid in the darkness
"Dorumon?" Gomamon asked... As Meicoomon approached their cell
"It's her!" Gatomon growled as she saw her.
"Meicoomon!" Meiko cheered, rushing to the bars
Meicoomon turned to the bars where Meiko was and looked at her with a vacant stare. "Hello, Meiko." She spoke plainly.
"You came back!" Meiko looked at her with hope. "Have you come to let us go?"
Meicoomon frowned as she looked towards the ground. "Are you stupid?"
"W-what?" Meiko asked as her tone lowered. "Meicoomon, we're friends. Aren't we?"
Meicoomon frowned at Meiko, looking away from her. As something in her Digital Core was hurting. "Meiko. You where NEVER... A DigiDestined." Meicoomon said factually
"I. But I. Have a Digivice. You stayed with me." Meiko frowned, her glasses were fogging up a little.
"Just because I was with you doesn't mean that we were partners." She frowned.
The DigiDestined looked on at this, seeing how much Meicoomon was denouncing Meiko.
"That Digivice is fake. I've never been connected to it." Meicoomon continued
'That explains that.' Izzy thought, having recalled that key thing.
"B-But you stayed with me." Meiko began to choke up.
"Because you were just a cover." Meicoomon answered. Speaking straight facts. Not bringing her own feelings into it. "Gatomon, I believe you have an ability known as Cats Eye Hypnotism. Correct?"
"Yeah, I do. Let me guess, you've got the same sort of thing?" Gatomon asked.
"Yes. I do." Meicoomon nodded. "You were close to blowing my cover, Meiko. Noticing the pictures on the wall. The way you sometimes acted like there was deja vu. Forgetting things that weren't there." Meicoomon responded. "And I did not do this just once. I joined your family three months ago and used my attack, X Mind Razor, to alter your memories. Implant myself in a false life. A false history. Of course you kept resisting at points, since the history was fake. I did not rember activities you enjoyed, which you believed we did together."
"Stop..." Meiko whispered
"Replacing other people in your memories, or making excuses for why things lined up. Like why I wasn't in any pictures." Meicoomon explained with a monotone voice. Almost emotionless, honestly "You not remembering how we met. The exact date I moved in. And oh so many small moments that didn't actually exist. So many lies, fake moments to pretend a relationship had been forged."
"Please... Please stop..." Meiko begged as she began to cry, holding her head "Meicoomon... Please... Please stop..."
"Face it, Meiko. Your whole life is a lie. You were a loner whose only friend used you for their own benefit." Meicoomon continued.
Meiko's eyes began to tear up as she heard that, her heart shattering as Meicoomon continued
SLAM!
"Shut up! Can't you see you're hurting her?!" Biyomon yelled
Meicoomon frowned as she lazily glanced over at Biyomon. "Keep your beak out of this. It's nothing to do with you."
"It has everything to do with us!" Biyomon glared, tears bubbling in her eyes
Gatomon frowned as she looked at Meicoomon, this Digimon shared her body with her, Palmon, Biyomon and Agumon. They were lovers. Or was that all a lie too?
"Just accept it. Both our worlds are going to go away now. Not you, nor Dorumon. Not even Omegamon. None of you can stop it." Meicoomon answered.
...
"Hehehe." Gatomon began to snicker at the other cat "I finally realise why I've never liked you, you stray."
"Something you want to say then, allycat?" Meicoomon asked.
"Yeah. I realised why I never trusted you and why you pissed me off so much." Gatomon commented as she crossed her arms
"Oh really? Is it because I'm better than you?" Meicoomon questioned.
"No." Gatomon said as she closed her eyes "You remind me of myself... When I was weak and pathetic. You remind me of the worthless, beaten bitch I use to be. Honestly? Now... I pitty you."
Meicoomon's lip quivered as she heard that. 'Pity'? Gatomon 'pittied' her? She turned around, storming off quietly. With one final message "Meiko... You where NEVER a DigiDestined." Was all she said, walking away
Meiko's eyes began to well up, her heart was aching as she heard her best-, her part-, this Digimon berate her.
She fell to her knees as her head fell forwards. And she began to openly cry. She screamed, her hands beside her head as she just sobbed. Shaking, her glasses fogged up. Rivers falling down her face as she just... just cried her heart out
"Meiko." Mimi frowned, she and Sora kneeling next to her. Hugging her.
The boys looked at each other and nodded with a serious look to them. They were escaping today. And they *would* take down this threat.
'Please Meiko... Hate me. It'll make everything easier. Please... Please. Just... Hate me.' Meicoomon thought while walking away, her head lowered She caught on what that pain was in her core, it was sadness. The feeling of betrayal that she caused... to the one person she connected with.
But she had to. It was for the best.
After all, her fate has been sealed ever since that day...
*Flashback*
A young Digimon was on her own, wandering around in the forest, it was a golden yellow Salamkn with a white muzzle and paws. Green eyes and a tired expression on their face. "Please. Help." She whispered. The small Digimon slowly collapsed to the ground, she had run out of energy and hungry. "How... How long... have I been like this?" The little one mumbled
She had been alone for... For she didn't know HOW long. And... And so many.
So many Digimon.
So many. Other Rookies, some Champions, and even one or two Ultimates. They all wanted to kill her. Why? Just for some food. Or to show off. Or some 'fun'.
"What did I do? Why must I be hunted like this?" She asked herself, her tears no longer flowing as she couldn't muster them.

Her eyes widened in horror, seeing someone emerging from the darkness. And who was it?
A DarkTyrannomon
"Graaaah...!" The DarkTyrannomon growled as its black and dark red stripes emerged from the darkness, its green eyes glinting through as it saw the small Digimon.
"Oh~ look what I have here~!" He smirked, approaching the little Digimon
"St-Stay a-away!" The small Digimon stuttered out
"Don't run little one. I won't bite. Much!" The DarkTyrannomon growled menacingly.
...
"STAY AWAY!" The Digimon screamed as it sprinted away, the ground cracking under them
The DarkTyrannomon backed up a little as he saw this, seeing how much power this small Digimon was giving out. Even as it was weakened to this extent.
...
"Wait... That's not the Digimon..." DarkTyrannomon's eyes widened as it took a step
...
And the ground all around them turned into pure data, the DarkTyrannomon as well as the Digimon who would one day be Meicoomon, screaming as they fell into the portal
The DarkTyrannomon screamed as he fell through, Meicoomon's child form closed their eyes as she didn't care about surviving anymore. Suddenly the DarkTyrannomon's voice... Stopped. Fading into nothing.
Meanwhile the rookie... Landed in a hand. Well, we say 'hand', but to her it was more like a pale blue landscape that stretched out for miles. Soft and extended, at least to her. "Where... Where am I?" She whispered
A voice rumbled around her. Or at least what she thought was a voice. It sounded like a hurricane rushing around her with the intensity of an earthquake. "What... Is your name?" A voice from the darkness asked
"P-Plotmon." The rookie stuttered out before steeling itself, yelling out "I don't care who YOU are though! Go on, kill me! I've had enough of all this! Everyone wants to hurt me or kill me kr eat me! Laugh at the weak little Rookie, beat them up and laugh at them for being weak! I've been alone my whole life! No one would care, no one will miss me! So go on! Kill me! KILL ME!"

A dark laughter filled the endless void. A deep, disturbing laugh that would send vile shivers down the spines of even the strongest willed. Or even the bravest.
"W-Whats so funny?" Plotmon asked, not wavering. Confused and scared, but not backing down
"You... Amuse me, little one." The voice said as a figure began to emerged from the darkness. She could not make it out, besides the form being made of white armour and it's legs looking like a pair of sticks "I think I may have use of you. If... You want revenge against this world."
Plotmon was silent for a moment as she looked at her paws... And her eyes grew dark "This world does not want me. So why should I care about it? Fine, whatever. You have my loyalty. As long as this disgusting world is torn down into scrap code! I don't have a reason to exist, so why should everyone else get to be happy?!"
"Perfect." The dark voice laughed "This is the start... Of my revolution~!"
*End flashback*
'This... This is who I am.' Meicoomon thought as she walked down the halls in silence 'This is WHO I am. Nothing more. Nothing less. Just... A weapon. A weapon to end this miserable world. The world where the weak are left to be used as the strongs plaything.'
Her eyes grew dark, flashing red for a moment as the darkness of her Shadow grew
'I am my lords saber. His dagger. His poison. I shall tear this world assunder. I will destroy everything. For my revenge. ... And so no one else has to go through what I did.' Meicoomon continued to tell herself 'Better for me to end everything... Rather than have them all suffer. There will be peace... As well as silence.'
But as she walked, a tear fell from her eye. Fluttering in the breeze.
A reflection of Meiko's smiling face appearing in the drop "Meicoomon!" the memory of Meiko smiled... Before the tear hit the floor and shattered into a million pieces
'I am sorry Meiko. But this is... good bye.'
*elsewhere*
Primary Village was quiet, the Sovereigns were waiting quietly as they were tending to the various Digimon who fought against the Hydramon. They were worried for the Digidestined if they would return. At the outskirts of the tent, Leomon staggered in, beaten and exhausted as he collapsed to the floor.
The lion Digimon was 'bleeding' data, pushing himself further and further... Until he collapsed in front of the Soverine's tent. The now Champions appearance, and current condition, catching everyone's attention and worry
"Leomon! What happened?" SkullMeramon asked.
"Give him some room!" Azulongmon's Rookie form ordered, as they had to bring him to heal his wounds.
"What happened? Leomon!" Ebowumon's Rookie form asked as they tried to patch him up.
Midoramon patted his small stumpy leg onto the Champions shoulder
"My... My Soverine's..." Leomon mumbled out "He... He... He was there... UltimateChaosmon... He... He took them."
The Sovereign's jaws dropped as they heard that, shocked to know this revelation. UltimateChaosmon was close, there was something they had to do.
"The DigiDestined have been captured?" Azuredramon asked in horror
"Yes, I'm sorry. I wasn't strong enough to help them." He whispered, almost a whimper. "He was... Too powerful. And they where... Barley hanging on."
"What should we do, brothers?" Vermilamon asked, looking at the other three
"I do not know." Shironyamon whispered, voicing his opinion
"Can't we do anything to move the Digimon somewhere safe?" Andromon asked, voicing a suggestion.
"Where? The whole Digital World is in danger." SkullMeramon commented

While Piximon began to fly away
"Hey! Where are you going?!" Anubismon called up
"To save the DigiDestined!" Piximon responded
"You really think that's a good idea?" Anubismon asked.
"No, but we have no choice. Those kids need us! We've asked too much of them and we need to help!" Piximon answered.
"And you think going on your own is the best idea?" SkullMeramon asked.
"Do you have any other ideas?" Piximon responded.
"Yeah, I'm coming too!" He snapped.
"You're coming-?"
"If it wasn't for them, I'd still be under Devimon's control and burning down village after village! What kind of friend would I be if I didn't help out?" SkullMeramon responded.
"Huh, alright." Piximon responded. "Let's go!"
"Wait!" Azuredramon called out
"What now?" Piximon asked.
"You all mussent go alone." Shironyamon commented "None of us would be much of a match against UltimateChaosmon, nor his army."
"Alone, at least." Midoramon added
"We weren't planning to fight him, that's suicide! We just need to get the DigiDestined out of his prison!" Piximon answered.
"Which will need all of us." Vermilamon said simply
"You-? You four are coming?" SkullMeramon asked.
"Of course we are." Azuredramon responded. "It's our job to protect this world."
"All of us together." Vermilamon nodded "We all must work together. We have asked so much of the DigiDestined over the years. So we have to try and help them."
"I have to be honest." Shironyamon added. "If we didn't help, it'd leave a bad taste in my mouth."
The Digimon all looked on, at the figures they considered god's, in wonder.
"Come along. We have a world to save." Midoryamon finished.
"Don't lag behind." Azuredramon informed.
"You joke right now?" Vermailamon deadpanned.
"It's a coping mechanism." He resppnded.
"Thank you, mighty Sovereigns." SkullMeramon responded.
"Let's just hope the DigiDestined have managed to do something in our inactions." Shironyamon commented.
"I'll look after Leomon, you go and save them." Anubismon informed.
"Thank you, Anubismon." SkullMeramon answered.
"W-Wait. It's too far. We'll be. Defenceless." Leomon whispered, trying to speak.
"Stay still, you've fought hard enough." Anubismon responded.
"It's our job to protect the Digital World. Gather the troops, hide and survive... if we are to return." Vermilamon instructed.
"With us on the the front lines, they won't attack here." Shironyamon
"And with us on the front lines... This battle may finally be over by the end of today. One way or the other." Midoramon added
"My friends. To the ocean!" Azuredramon ordered
*With the DigiDestined*
"How's the lock coming?" Joe asked.
"It's a bit stiff, but it's coming." Mimi answered.

"I think I got it!" Mimi cheered.
"Good." Matt nodded as he, TK and Tai where holding a chunk of rock like a battering ram. The cells door was super heavy after all, stopping Digimon below a certain strength from easily escaping
"Okay, ready guys?" Tai asked as they held the rock.
"Go!" TK answered, as they slammed the rock into the lock.
They rushed forwards, pushing their arms forwards with all their might.

The rock rushed into the lock, not breaking as they saw the dents in the metal. "It's working, a little more!" Tai informed.

"One more time!" Matt called
SMASH!
The lock was destroyed, swinging open for the Digidestined to escape.
"Alright! Let's go"! Sora urged
The DigiDestined grabbed their things, re-energised and heading through the dingy dark stone corridors of their confinds.
"This place is so empty." Joe whispered as the group ran, hurrying through the building
"I think it's more just a birdcage for us, rather his home base." Sora commented.
"Or he needs so few servants. After all, he can manipulate the very code around him." Dorumon commented
"I see the exit!" Izzy cheered
"Careful, we don't want Gennai to know we've escaped." Tai informed.
"Well, he'll know eventually." Gomamon pointed out as they arrived at a door
"Think we can knock him out before he acts?" Gatomon asked.
"It's better to just run." Tai said simply
The group emereged into the sandy dessert, panting
"Ugh! I hate sand! It gets all in my feathers." Biyomon complained
"Okay... Now... Let's get going." Joe commented as he held up his Digivice
"Right!" Gomamon nodded as he puffed out his chest "Gomamon! Warp Digivolve too... GOMAMON!"

"Blek." The seal blurped out as he fell face first into the sand "I'm sorry Joe... I'm too tired to go Mega still."
"I think all of us are." Palmon admitted
"Well then. Our turn." Kari smiled as she held up her D3
"Right, Kari!" TK nodded as he held up his own
"Ready!" Gatomon and Patamon nodded
"Digi-Armour Energies!" The two called out
The world burst into darkness as Patamon took off into the sky towards the DigiEgg of Hope "Patamon Armour Digivolve to...!" Patamon proclaimed proudly as his body began to glow bright yellow like a star, twitching and growing. The wings on his head grew massively while his face extended up and forward into a new head and neck, his legs extending and his tail growing.
The DigiEgg shattered apart and came rushing down, attaching to his body as his more horse-like stature was clearly visible. He had golden hoof and fore-leg armour wrapped around his front legs, his body having the same colour and stomach as his old Rookie form. Large feathery wings with heavenly looking golden feathers emerged from his back. Clasping onto his chest was a mighty shimmering golden chest plate with the Crest of Hope emblazoned proudly.
Galloping through the space as it came alight, looking like a shimmering and glorious sunny day, his long glowing golden tail came into existence. As his wings flapped, the might golden horse seemed to be running atop clouds as the final part of armour attached to his head.
A shimmering and glorious golden helmet took shape his now clearly horse-like head with an upside down dark yellow triangle on the forehead, a magnificent golden main bursting down his neck. Sticking out the upper sides where small bat-like ears like Patamon had in his rookie form, only much smaller. His blue eyes flashed to light from under the helmet, glittering in the sun as he came to a stop
"Pegasusmon!" he named himself proudly as he returned to the real world
At the same time Gatomon jumped into the sky, doing an almost backflip, as the DigiEgg of Light glowed up on high "Gatomon, Armour Digivolve to...!" Gatomon proclaimed as she began to glow as her body shifted and changed.
Her body began to glow and shift, the pink glow hiding her features away as her body took on a more big cat appearance. Hunched over and on all fours, her size grew massively and take on more traditional proportions for such a big cat.
Her shape was reminiscent of a tiger, or female lions, or a puma's. At least it was until a pair of large elegant shimmering wings emerged from her back. As the light began to die down, the bright white feathers glittered. As her wings flapped the DigiEgg of Light separated and came rushing down, charging down towards her. Her front paws, which were much larger and powerful looking, as a pair of large silver front arm guards, edged with golden markings and red diamonds came down and attached to her forepaws. The diamonds glittered and shone like stars.
Emerging into an Egyptian-like desert, her long tail flowed almost like a serpent. Flying proudly, a chest plate quickly attached itself. Her torso was now covered in a silver chest plate that was very womanly shaped, a pair of large-looking breasts sculpted into the armour, with silver markings depicting the Crest of Light and a golden necklace stood atop the armour framing it in a royal fashion. Rounded silver and gold shoulder guards where the last piece of the chest armour, the silver shimmering in the sun.
Finally a headdress appeared and clamped down on top Gatomon's head. The helmet was bright silver with a golden 'hair' piece in an old traditional Egyptian style, a golden tiara with a snake head flowing off reminiscent of a pharaoh's crown. A pair of car ears where sat atop her head, as expected from such a cat-like Digimon, while her face… was completely covered. The 'face' of the helmet was made of a fantastic silver with a woman's face depicted. Large, round, eyes with a slight 'wing' look. Alongside it she also had a human looking note, and plump human-looking lips.
She flouted through the Egyptian world, before landing atop a pyramid while calling out proudly "Nefertimon!" She proclaimed as the world reverted to normal
"Us to." Biyomon said, walking forwards "We can help to!"
"Yeah, we are going to need more people to travel as much as possible." Gabumon agreed
"Don't worry, we can take it!" Tentomon cheered
"Are you sure guys?" Matt asked, the group nodded
"Okay then." Sora sighed, nodding gently as the three pulled out their Digivices
"GABUMON! DIGIVOLVE TOO...!"
Gabumon's body began to glow and change, his reptilian body soon grew and became a quadrupedal beast. His snout became elongated as his form turned into a large wolf. Four large paws with a long tail, six protruding tufts of fur on his back, a pair of long ears with a 'mane' around his neck, snarling teeth and strong muscles. His claws were a deep red, his eyes a piercing yellow, his silver fur covered with blue stripes and accents.
"GARURUMON!" The newly transformed Garurumon howled, stretching out
"BIYOMON! DIGIVOLVE TOO...!"
Biyomon called out, flapping her wings as she soared to the air, her diminutive bird-like form seemed to triple or quadruple in size, their arm-like wings erupted into large fiery wings, her feet sprouted and grew as her body became slender. Her beak turned into a large maw with protruding teeth as her 'hair' became two long 'ears', her body was enrapt with flames as she Digivolved and formed this new being.
"BIRDRAMON!" The majestic bird Digimon screeched out, flapping her wings powerfully
"Tentomon, Digivolve too..."
The small bug's body glowed purple as he grew massively, growing the same size as Birdramon. His antenna straightened and merged into a single blades horn as a large black skull formed over his head, his eyes vanishing from view. His skin turned into a blue-ish purple, his body as thin and very similar to a Kuwagamon's. His wings not having any form of shell protection for his wings.
"KABUTERIMON!" he cheered as the purple light shattered away, flexing powerfully
"Dorumon, you can fly with me." TK said, getting atop Pegasumon's back like a trained horse rider
"Yeah, I can take the weight." Pegasumon joked
"Thank you." Dorumon stated, flying up to land on TK's lap
"You've got this pal." TK assured, patting his partners neck
"Joe, you and Gomamon can ride with us." Matt encouraged as be got atop his partner
"Thanks Matt." Joe nodded as he did so
"We're trusting you, Garurumon. Like the wind." Matt said, rubbing his partners neck
"Through the storm." Garurumon chuckled
"Day or night, ride till the end of time." They said together, quoting one of Matt's songs

And then Gommamon jumped atop Garurumon's head "Giddy up!" The water rookie cheered
"I'm not a horse." he deadpanned
"Thank you for this Birdramon." Sora said, rubbing her partner's beak softly
"It's fine Sora~" the bird-dragon purred
"Tai, Agumon, with me." Sora encouraged as she got atop her partners back. Tai and Agumon nodded, the two following the red head
"I've got you." Kabuterimon said as he picked up Izzy, Mimi and Palmon
"Wow! Careful!" Mimi commented as she tried to keep her balance
"Kabuterimon, just keep your eyes on the skies!" Izzy smiled
Meiko was silent as she stood in the back... Watching all of this. She felt... Hollow.
Alone.
She wasn't a real DigiDestined. She didn't have a partner. And didn't have what these people had. These friends.
She forced herself into their lives, on this adventure. Threw her life away, endangered herself. And for what? For a fake friendship?
As a plaything for some evil god and it's pet cat?
She closed her eyes, about to cry again... When a hand held her shoulder
"Hey, Meiko. Fly with us." Kari smiled as she lead the older girl towards Nefertimon
"Huh?" She asked looking up at Nefertimon.
"Come along." The Sphynx-like Digimon knelt down to help her up.
"But. I can't help." Meiko muttered.
"We can't leave you here, can we?" Kari responded as she held out her hand at her girlfriend
"No, I guess not." Meiko responded as she took Kari's hand and mounted Nefertimon.
"Let's go!" Kari spoke as she mounted her partner and hugged Meiko's hips. She held her close, protectively, as their partners rushed into the sky
WHOOSH!
"Hold on tight, everyone!" Birdramon called out.
"The winds will get choppy up here!" Kabuterimon added.
"And cover your eyes!" Garurumon added "Sand could hurt!"
The group did their best to shield their eyes, squinting them as tightly as possible to make sure they wouldn't go blind.
They pulled out the glasses Izzy had made for them, the ones to help them see Digital Gates, while Tai slipped his giggles down. 'Finally, the proper use for these.' Tai jokingly thought to himself. 'I wonder if grandpa would have been happy.'
The sounds of beating wings and the wind covered over the Digimon and Digidestined as they had escaped, they were still on Server so they had lots of ground to cover if they had any chance to escape.
They just had to get away
Meiko looked back at the place where they had been captured. A tear falling from, her eyes 'Meicoomon... goodbye.' she thought...
