A/N: Hello! Hi! I may have been drinking, but I didn't forget about you :) Here's the final chapter of this little fic – I hope you've had as much fun as I have :)

The weather outside was rather dark and the wind was picking up, so Kevin parked as quickly as he could in front of the hardware store before running inside.

The seal of his bathroom window seemed to be broken, and he needed to get it fixed quickly. He'd stepped out of the shower that morning and practically froze to death. This snowstorm coming in was going to be the end of him if he didn't fix it.

He hated that work had prevented him from doing this sooner, but at least he could do it now. Quickly scanning the aisles, he almost missed it when he realized who was standing in front of what he needed.

"You really know what you're doing?" Hailey asked.

Jay looked up from his squat and said, "Seriously?"

Hailey let out a soft laugh and said, "Well, we've been standing here for a while, and you've yet to actually grab anything."

"There are a lot of options, Hailey," Jay shot back, "I'm just trying to pick the right one so yourass doesn't freeze tonight."

"My ass won't freeze if you're there to warm it up for me," Hailey replied.

Smirking, Jay shook his head and turned back toward his options for sealing a window.

Kevin stared at them for a moment as their words sank in.

He had no doubt they were dating.

He'd noticed they'd occasionally show up to work at the same time, and once or twice he saw their hands wander while passing each other in the bullpen or locker room. Plus, there was Hailey's face a few weeks ago when Jay's undercover op almost went south.

But they'd always been close. Nothing had truly seemed out of place in his mind. They were just two people who loved each other.

Two people who loved each other.

He could see it now, and he couldn't believe he hadn't seen it before.

Two of his best friends were dating, and here he was in the dark.

Damn.

Sighing, he shook his head because he had two options: leave and deal with a frozen cold bathroom or announce his presence so he could fix the window.

His need to not freeze to death in the morning was bigger than not wanting to embarrass or out them.

"Hey," he said as he stepped forward, "What're you two up to?"

They both looked up and Hailey's cheeks flushed just enough that Kevin knew she knew they were caught.

"Hailey's bedroom window is letting in a breeze, so I'm gonna fix it," Jay said then turned back to his options, "I'm just not quite sure what to do."

"Obviously," Hailey mumbled.

Kevin held back a soft laugh and nodded. "I'm actually here for the same thing," he said, "Well, it's my bathroom window. I was gonna caulk it, but you're in an apartment, so you could do the film stuff."

Hailey raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms. "I-"

"You think?" Jay asked and grabbed a roll of the film.

Hailey's jaw dropped and she hissed, "Jay Halstead."

Kevin smirked and said, "Yeah. I was looking it up before I came here."

"I told you," Hailey mumbled.

"Huh, okay then," Jay said while standing up.

Kevin nodded and looked over the few bottles of caulk before grabbing one.

"You owe me," Hailey said, "I was telling you about the film."

"I just needed a third opinion," Jay replied.

Hailey rolled her eyes then breathed, "Sure."

"I'll make it up to you," Jay whispered, earning a soft smile to cross Hailey's face.

Kevin cleared his throat and said, "Well, uh, I'm gonna take off."

"We'll walk out with you," Hailey said and started walking toward the cash register, "Hopefully we all fix our windows before the snow comes in."

"Think Voight'll let us take a snow day?" Jay asked.

"Voight? Maybe. Platt? Never," Kevin answered.

"For your sake," Hailey said with a poke to Jay's chest, "I hope we do get a day off, though I agree with Kev: it's not happening."

"My sake?" Jay asked.

Hailey hummed and grabbed the plastic film from his hand so she could pay for it.

Jay looked at Kevin who just shrugged in response.

Once Hailey paid for the film, she stepped to the side for Kevin and said, "If we do get the day off, I'll buy us all a round at Turtle's."

"Kim and Adam too?" Kevin asked as he paid for the caulk.

Hailey teasingly sighed then said, "Sure. Beer's on me."

"If not?" Jay asked.

"Then we work and you both can cover my paperwork for me," Hailey said with a smirk.

Jay laughed and said, "Deal."

"I can handle that," Kevin chuckled. He slipped his wallet in his pocket then grabbed his receipt and bag. "Well, text me if you two hear anything, I'm guessing you'll be together."

Jay paused from walking out the door, looked at Hailey, then laughed again and shrugged. "Yeah," he admitted, "We'll be together."

Hailey smiled and nodded.

"Cool," Kevin said. He winked at Jay before stepping outside and saying, "Talk later."

He waved over his shoulder at Jay and Hailey's goodbyes and quickly walked to his car. Once inside, through the rearview mirror, he could see Hailey and Jay lightly shoving and teasing each other under a streetlight. He laughed then called Kim on his phone.

"Hey!" she greeted, "You good?"

"Yup," he replied and started his car, "Just calling because it finally happened, and I was the first to know."

"Sorry, what?" Kim laughed.

"Jay and Hailey," Kevin said, "They're together."

Kim waited a beat then burst into laughter and said, "Adam. Adam, come here. Kev found out."

"What?" Kevin asked, "You knew?"

"Hell yes we knew," Adam said once Kim turned on her speaker phone.

"For how long?" Kevin asked.

"Couple months," Adam answered.

"Yeah, about that I think," Kim said, "Makayla's known for a bit too."

"Mak knows?" Kevin said, "What the hell?"

Kim laughed and said, "We were wondering when you'd find out. Did you see them on a date?"

"No, just the hardware store," Kevin sighed, "Damn. I really thought…oh well." He trailed off as Kim and Adam started laughing again. "Okay, okay," he interrupted, "Fine, I was the last to find out they were dating, but I'll be the first to know when they get engaged. Mark my words."

"Okay."

"Sure."

Kevin smirked and ended the call before driving away.

He'd find out first - he knew it.
