Fair warning: kidnapping and high amounts of torture, you have been warned.
Sadie's POV
A few days later, another dream arrived to let me see memories. I could tell it was a year later. Iskander was standing firm, and had a look that seemed annoyed. Abraham looked upset.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT LUCAS BOY IS NOT COMBAT LIKE I KEEP SAYING HE IS!" Abraham yelled.
"He keeps failing to do the spells, and it is quite obvious he cannot hold his own in combat. I know you keep saying that this is his calling from his family's abilities, so I'm having him switched to something different. I really do not understand your obsession with these boys and them all being combat, but you will leave this one alone. Understood?" Iskander said, glaring.
"Understood." Abraham said, glaring like he wanted to kill someone.
I saw Kid Amos heading to his room. He looked beat. Dad was walking with him, telling Kid Amos he was trying, but he had no idea why he sucked at this magic.
Kid Amos entered the room and sat down on the bed, when a note caught his eye. He looked at it, and began to read.
Dear Lucas,
We wish to inform you that you will no longer train in combat magic, but rather, you will undergo training in other fields, as it appears you cannot do this type of magic. Please understand that.
Sincerely, Iskander's assistant.
Kid Amos smiled, and laid down in the bed, closing his eyes.
Then, he opened his eyes, scanning the room. As he looked around, a mystery figure came out of nowhere, and knocked Kid Amos out cold.
He was being kidnapped.
The memory shifted to another room. It was dusty, and filthy. Kid Amos seemed to be waking up. He was tied to a bed, writs above his head.
"Oh good, your awake." A voice said.
"Huh? What's going on?" Kid Amos said.
"What's going on is that you WILL be a combat magician boy, even if I have to kill you to make you one." Abraham said as he stepped out from the shadows.
"What is it with you and me needing to be a combat magician in your head?" Kid Amos said.
"Because I recognize you as Hollice Kanes son, the one she ran away with, who's also mine."
"WAIT, I AM YOUR SON? No wonder Mamma ran away with me." Kid Amos said.
"Yes, and you will be combat boy!"
I switched places back to another location, otherwise known as The First Nome. Dad was looking for Kid Amos, and bumped into Desjardins.
"Oof!" Desjardins said.
"Sorry, Desjardins. Hey, have you seen Lucus?" Dad asked.
"No, why?"
"I can't find him." Dad's eyes suddenly went wide. "Or my dad."
"You don't think-"
"I don't think, I know. We need to find Dad ASAP."
Kid Amos was fighting with is magic for his life. He could not summon a combat avatar, so he was losing a battle badly.
"BE A MAN BOY!" Abraham yelled.
Kid Amos fell over instead, steaming.
"Take him to the room, and don't bother to feed him." Abraham said, "And no medical treatment."
Kid Amos looked miserable. I could tell from my position he had a high fever. He was shaking violently. I thought he was going to die.
The dream shifted yet again, taking me to Dad, who was walking through the Gobi Desert. Dad had Desjardins with him.
"How do you know where to go, Julius?" Desjardins asked.
"My Dad dragged me out here on the weekends, and forced me to fight until I almost fainted." Dad explained.
"Oh. Why do you think he is so obsessed with this boy?"
"I have no clue. But it may have something to do with the assassins my dad is in charge of."
"I hope Lucas is okay."
"Me too. I've grown to like the kid. He is smart, kind, and doesn't care about what people think. We are here, Dad's secret combat base."
He opened a trap door hidden by the rocks. Just then, Kid Amanda, Ariel, Beatrice, Coraline, Dory, Esperanza, and Fiona came out from hiding places. Amanda looked to be seventeen.
"What are you doing?" Ariel asked.
"I should be asking the same question." Dad said.
"We are the maternal cousins of Lucas. We need to save him, and we will, no matter what you say." Fiona said, death glaring him.
"Good, because when it comes to Abraham, we need every person we can get." Desjardins said.
The girls all got out different gear: Amanda got out her scimitars, then set them on fire. Ariel got her trident, Beatrice got out her weighed net and dagger, Coraline got out her magic stone, that I learned came from her birth mother, Hecate, as well as her magical shield. Dory got out her Kopides, twin kopis blades. Esperanza pulled out her gun, with Fiona summoning up a pair of straight swinging blades.
"Nice weapons." Dad said.
"Let's do this." Amanda said.
They all slipped into Abraham's lair.
Dad led the way. The girls kept the weapons at the ready.
"Where do you think they are keeping him?" Desjardins asked.
"He is in the room two turns and four doors away." Fiona responded.
"How do you know?" Dad asked.
"I can sense him. I am the daughter of Hades."
"Yeah, main reason why when she makes cookies, we have to climb to get them, no matter where they are." Coraline said, "Hold on, I need to check for magic traps."
Coraline peered through the stone, and once she saw something, went to work disabling the traps.
"Nice stone." Desjardins said.
"Thanks. It lets me see monsters for what they truly are, and detect traps."
After the trap was disabled, they went through.
They went exactly to where Fiona said he was, and she was right.
They opened the door, and found a half dead Kid Amos, with a guard stabbing him in the lung.
Amanda went to work healing him. The girls opened a way out through where they were. Dad went to Kid Amos's side.
"Hey, Lucas. You ok?" He asked.
"Can't breathe." Kid Amos managed.
"It's ok, we will fix this. I promise."
"You need to know something Kane-"
That was when the alarms went off.
"Girls! Charge!" Fiona hollered. "Boys, take the exit, we will meet you outside once we have handled this."
Desjardins and Dad did as they were told, sprinting out the exit the girls provided, carrying Kid Amos.
"We need to take him to a healer, ASAP." Desjardins said.
"Agreed." Dad said, Kid Amos in his arms.
Suddenly, they were surrounded by unknown magicians, except one was known.
"Give over the kid, boy!" Abraham shrieked.
"NO!" Dad shouted.
"You will allow me to force your brother to learn combat, even if I have to kill you over it."
"Wait, your son?" Desjardins asked.
It was at that moment Abraham knew that he screwed up.
"Dad! YOU ARE A MONSTER!" Dad yelled. "I KNOW YOU KEPT COMPARING HIM TO ME, AND FORCED HIM TO DO THINGS HE HAD YET TO LEARN LIKE IT WAS A SILLY COMPETION, BUT THIS IS TOO FAR! I HATE YOU!"
That was when Fiona shrieked.
The Hades State had been triggered. Everyone standing close to her went down on their knees, and Abraham was half sunk into the ground, frost now covering the ground. Kid Amos bucked, feeling scared more than likely.
"GO! I HAVE THIS!" Fiona yelled.
The boys ran like their lives depended on it, with Amanda catching up and using an Egyptian ring, opened a portal to a hospital in New Athens.
Hours later, the other girls caught up, all except Fiona.
"What happened back there?" Dad asked.
"Fiona gave her life. The Hades State took over completely, ending his reign of terror. But it ended up taking her life." Coraline responded.
Everyone looked sad upon hearing that.
"Not dead anymore BTW." Fiona said.
Everyone looked over.
"How?" Desjardins asked.
"Dad brought me back. He said I shouldn't die for saving someone's life. That and apparently, I have a role to play in the future."
The girls tackled her in hugs.
Shortly after, the doctor announced that Kid Amos would live, but with a cost: he would not be able to fight combatively for a century, at least. The girls then proceeded to dash in.
"I have a brother." Dad said.
"You do, and you should spend some time with him." Desjardins said.
