Peter stared down at the man writhing on the hospital bed. He noticed the man grasping at his left forearm. Mira grabbed Snape's arm, speaking softly to keep him calm. She began sliding his sleeve down and gasped. Without saying a word, she started moving the bed into a private room. Peter followed behind, intrigued by her reaction. Mira came to a door pausing only to open it before carting the bed in behind her.
Peter stood in the doorway, unsure if he should enter, before Mira said, "Either enter or leave, you bloody fool. Are you trying to get caught?"
He scrambled into the room and closed the door behind him. Peter watched as Mira gathered numerous bottles and began to prepare a remedy for Snape. She had changed from the gentle woman who treated her patients with kindness into an angry force. Mira sat Snape up roughly, growling at him to stop struggling, tilting the potion into his mouth.
All while Mira worked she grumbled to herself saying, "Damn fool, leaving one of the Death Eaters out in the open. He's lucky I got to the stupid man on time, else we'd all be discovered." Then she turned to Peter and yelled, "Well are you going to bloody help or would you prefer to stand there? Stupid git."
Peter ran over and held Snape down so he would stop struggling, but when he was within reach, Snape grabbed his arm and pulled him in close.
"The Dark Lord wants a word, Pettigrew. He says that you aren't devoted to the mission. He thinks you learned something important and didn't tell him. He wants your head on a platter, Pettigrew, not that I feel any inclination to stop him." Snape rasped in his ear.
Snape let go of Peter's arm, and Peter didn't waste any time apparating out of the room. The next thing he saw was the inn in Knockturn Alley. Peter ran up the stairs to the room that held he-who-must-not-be-named, knocking on the door. As soon as his fist touched the black wood the door creaked open. He entered the room and saw the man sitting on a chair.
Diving to his knees, Peter ducked his head and began to beg for forgiveness, "Please s-s-sir, please. I d-d-d-d-d-don't know-w-w-w
w-w-w w-what you w-w-want from-m m-m-m-me."
He felt something make contact with his face, the force dragging him to lie on the ground. Peter sobbed, believing this was the end.
"Shut up Wormtail," The man snarled, "The paper isn't working anymore, it seems I have to go to much more extreme measures." The man said, grabbing Peter's arm and touching his wand tip to it. He whispered an incantation and Peter felt fire consuming him. Peter couldn't take the pain, so he screamed, throwing his head back and screaming against the pain until darkness took over his vision.
