Chapter 3: Bad Weather.
Note: This chapter is based on Stormy Weather featuring Evie with some changes.
It was Saturday Morning and Evie had just finished breakfast. Her Mum came into the room, with a smile on her face.
"Evie, your dads coming home this evening. He is working in Paris for the week," Her Mum said.
"Thats great, I've missed him. Will he be busy all week. It would be nice to have some time together," Evie said.
"I'm not sure. You will have to wait for him to come home," Evie's Mum said.
"Ok," Evie replied as she went to her room.
Evie turned her computer on as she wanted to watch the KIDZ + Weather Girl final. Caragh told her that two girls from their school were the finalists.
"Welcome to the finals of our KIDZ+ competition. Today one lucky winner will be announced as our KIDZ+ weather girl," The host Alec said as the camera changes to show the two finalists and fans calling out to them "We started off with 5000 contestants. But with the help of our audience at home, we whittled our talent down to just these two amazing young ladies! So, let's welcome our fantastic finalists! To my right, Aurore Beauréal, and to my left, Mireille Caquet! Who will be the lucky winner? Vote now! Text 1 for Aurore and 2 for Mireille. And remember, standard text messaging rates apply."
Evie looked at the two girls on the stage. Aurore had light cornflower blue eyes and long, straight, waist-length light honey-blonde hair with bangs. It was tied back in two pigtails with blue hair bands. Mireille had chin-length black hair and almond-shaped dark tangelo eyes.
"What are you watching?" Her Kwami Starr asked.
"It's the KIDZ+ weather girl competition. The two girls are in Caragh class," Evie said. "In fact most of the people I talk to at school are in that class."
"Evie, someones at the door for you" Her Mum called.
"Coming" Evie replied.
Evie was surprised to see that it was Alya.
"Hi, Alya," Evie said.
"Hey, Evie," Alya said, "I need your help. You know that Mari has a crush on Adrian, well he's on a photoshoot in the park at the moment and I thought we could go and get her, then she will have a chance to tell Adrain how she feels about him."
"The only person that doesn't know about Marinette's crush is Adrian." Evie said, "Why doesn't she just speak to him?"
"You know what she's like" Alya replied.
Evie knew that Marinette stuttered every time she spoke to Adrian.
"Yeah, I'll come," Evie said.
Evie and Alya arrived at Marinette's house. Marinette lived above her family's bakery so they used the side entrance to get in rather than walking through the shop. Alya rang the doorbell. Marinette answered the door.
"Alya? Evie?"
"Hey, I've got a huge scoop for you. Guess who's on a photoshoot in the park." Alya said as she showed her a picture of Adrain posing for the camera.
"Adrian's in the park right now?" Marinette asked.
"As we speak" Alya replied.
"Oh, gosh. What am I going to say to him?" Marinette wondered.
"The same thing as usual," Alya said.
"Uh, who are they?" A young girl asked. The girl had tan skin, messy dark brown hair that was pulled back in two pigtails and gold eyes.
"Whoops, I forgot about this little detail," Marinette said.
"And who's she?" Evie asked. It wasn't a sister, Evie knew that Marinette didn't have any siblings.
"This is Manon. One of my mum's friends children. I'm watching her all afternoon. That means I can't go," Marinette realised.
"It's no problem. We will take care of your little detail for you" Evie said.
"Thanks, but I'm responsible for her. Besides I couldn't do that to you. She's an absolute angle" Marinette said as a crashing sound came from the kitchen. Manon had a pot and spatula in her hands. "Manon, put that down,"
Marinette continued to chase Manon around.
"You're just a pushover Marinette. I have to babysit my sisters all the time which makes me an expert in dealing with angles" Alya said.
Manon looked at Alya and then at Evie.
"Who are you?' Manon asked.
"I'm a magical unicorn from the world of Reespa, disguised as a totally fabulous human girl, I grant wishes but only to little monkeys who behave," Alya told Manon. "And this is my assistant. You see a magical unicorn can't do all the work on her own.
"No, you're not. Are you?" Manon asked. She had a curious look on her face.
"Let's go to the park," Alya said as she placed Manon on her shoulders.
"Yay," Manon cheered.
When they arrived at the park, Evie saw Adrian with his photographer by the water fountain.
"Come on, we are gonna stroll over there real cool as if we just happen to be passing by," Marinette said.
"Then what?" Alya asked.
"Then, I will invite him out for a fruit smoothie at the end of the photoshoot. Then, we'll get married. Live happily ever after and have a beautiful house with two kids, no three. Maybe a dog, or a cat. No forgot them, a hamster. I love hamsters" Marinette said.
"Maybe it would be better to start by talking to him," Evie suggested. "See if we can get to the part where you ask him to join you for a smoothie."
Marinette giggles as they head over to where Adrian is. Adrian notices them and waves.
"Did you just see that? He waved at me" Marinette asked.
"Yeah, I saw it too. Pretty normal. We are all in the same class at school" Alya replied.
They continued to watch Adrian. Manon started to get bored. She noticed a person selling balloons with the winner of the KIDS+ TV weather girl contest.
"Marinette, I want a ballon with Mireille on it. Please, Marinette" Manon said as she tried to get Marinette's attention.
The photographer got annoyed by this and told them to be quiet.
"I'll get that ballon for you, Manon," Evie said "Come on."
"No, I want to go with Marinette. She's my babysitter" Manon complained.
"I'll deal with it. I'm her babysitter" Marinette said.
"But what about Adrian," Alya asked.
Marinette left with Manon, and the little girl ran ahead of her. Evie watched until the photographer came over.
"I need an extra to pose with Mr Adrian. Come stand next to Adrian" He asked.
Evie knew that Marinette would love the chance to pose with Adrian.
"I can't but I know someone that would. Hold on" Evie said as she hurried over to where Manon, Marinette and Alya stood. Manon had convened the two girls to let her ride on the Merry-go-round.
"They need any extra to pose with Adrian," Evie said.
"What? Seriously?" Marinette asked.
"Is he your boyfriend?" Manon asked.
"What? No, I mean yes, no" Marinette said, sounding a bit flustered.
"Go on. What are you waiting for?" Alya asked.
"But what about Manon?" Marinette asked.
"You take care of Prince Charming. I'll take care of Miss Unicorn," Alya replied. "You don't know how to control her anyway."
"Marinette's my babysitter" Manon complained.
"Trust me," Alya said.
"I'll stay and watch," Evie said.
Marinette walked towards Adrian and the photographer. As she did, a cold blast of icy wind blew. The wind caused most of the other people around them to run away in fear. It was only when Evie looked up that she noticed what they were running from. An Akumatized villain. The icy blast of wind had frozen over the merry-go-round, trapping Manon and Alya. Marinette had also disappeared.
Evie looked around her for a place to transform. Once she found somewhere, she let Starr out of her bag.
"Time to transform," Evie said "Starr, Blend In."
After transforming into Snow Leopard, Evie ran out of the park and found Chat Noir teasing the villain. The villain fired a blast of wind at Chat Noir and he flew through the sky. Evie hurried after him.
"I thought cats landed on their feet," The familiar voice of Ladybug said as she helped him up. Chat Noir brought Ladybug's hand up to his lips and kissed it.
"Thank you, my lady" Chat Noir told her.
"There's no time for your childish charm Chat Noir."
"Talk about being blown away," Evie said.
"We should be expecting lighting storms like right now," Stormy Weather said as she used her umbrella to fire lightning strikes at the heroes who screamed and moved to dodge them.
"You just won your self a catfight," Chat Noir said.
"Black ice" Stormy Weather creates ice on the floor and then creates another gust of wind. They fly backwards, Ladybug grabs onto a post while Evie takes Chat and holds on to a traffic light pole.
"I don't think this idea is working," Evie said. "We need a plan."
"I have an idea," Ladybug said as she told them the plan. However, the plan didn't work and the three of them found themselves flying through the air. They landed on the ground, a little dazed but otherwise they were not hurt. Several cars had flown through the air with them so they had to move to avoid them. In the distance, they saw a bus coming towards them. Ladybug pulled Chat Noir and Evie closer to her and used her Yo-Yo as a shield, spinning it fast to make a hole in the bus.
They climbed out of the bus and noticed that Stormy Weather had moved on. They walked towards a screen.
"Maybe she's got some anger issues," Ladybug said.
"Or she didn't pass her driving test," Chat Noir said.
"Maybe she doesn't like summer" Evie added.
Stormy Weather appeared on the screen. "Hello viewers, Heres the latest weather for the first day of summer. Looks like Mother Nature had a change of plans. Summer's officially over."
"Already? But I look so good in a swimsuit" Chat Noir said, winking at Ladybug.
"The catsuit will do. At least we know how to find her" Ladybug replied.
Ladybug, Chat Noir and Evie head to the TV station. Outside posters of Aurore could be seen on the screens.
"That girl looks familiar. Wait it's her. The weather girl," Evie said.
"You're right. The akuma must be in her parasol" Ladybug said.
They entered the TV studio. It's quiet and only a recorded video could be heard. Stormy Weather wasn't there.
"It's a recording," Ladybug said.
The lights in the studio flickered for a moment before the power went out. Evie looked around her and noticed that she could still see. In fact, her vision was almost perfect.
"Frosty the Snowgirl is getting away" Chat Noir stated
Ladybug tried to walk towards Chat Noir and Evie but tripped over.
"Do I hear a damsel in destress?" Chat Noir asked.
"Some of us don't have night vision" Ladybug replied.
"I've got it, Chat Noir." Evie said as she reached out to Ladybug "Take my hand. I'll guide you."
Evie guided Ladybug towards the exit. Chat Noir directs them and they follow Stormy Weather up the stairs, almost getting hit by a fireextinguisher on the way. They find themselves on the roof.
"You airheads. You fell right into my trap" Stormy Weather said as she created a whirlwind with her umbrella. "There's no way out. Party's over fools."
"We're just getting started Stormy," Ladybug said as she summoned her 'Lucky Charm' and got a bath towel. "A bath towel. What am I supposed to do with this?"
"Great. So, we're about to be obliterated, but... At least we'll be dry." Chat Noir said.
"Hail," Stormy Weather said as she made hail fall from the sky.
"I never liked hail" Evie complained.
Chat Noir used his staff to protect them from the hail.
"What's your plan for getting the Akuma back, my arms starting to ache" Chat Noir complained.
Ladybug looked around her and came up with a way to use her Lucky Charm.
"See that sign over there, check it out," Ladybug said to Chat Noir.
"All right then" Chat Noir replied. "Cataclysm"
Chat Noir distracted Stormy Weather using his power to make the sign fall down, Stormy Weather made a hole in the sign with her umbrella trying to escape.
Ladybug used her Yo-Yo and tied it around Stormy Weather's ankle.
Evie watches as Ladybug's plan played out.
The umbrella fell from Stormy Weather's hand and Evie caught it and tossed it to Ladybug who snapped it in half, freeing the Akuma.
"No more evil-doing for you, little Akuma. Time do de-evilize" Ladybug captured the Akuma in her Yo-Yo and purified it. "Gotcha" She then released the now pure white butterfly. "Bye-Bye little butterfly."
"Miraculous Ladybug" Ladybug threw her lucky charm in the air and then hundreds of tiny ladybugs flew around Paris fixing the damage caused by Stormy Weather.
On the floor, a confused Aurore looked up and saw the three heroes.
Evie, Chat Noir and Ladybug 'Pound it' before going their separate ways.
Evie de-transformed. She wanted to go home but found herself heading back towards the park.
"Look, there's your friends," Starr said. "You should at least talk to them before leaving."
"Evie" Alya called, Manon stood next to her. "Are you coming to watch the photo shoot?"
"Yeah, I will" Evie replied as Marinette ran over to them.
"Marinette," Manon said, happy to have her babysitter back.
"Huh," Marinette asked.
"I know what your secret is" Manon replied.
"What secret?" Marinette asked
"Ladybug is your best friend. Thats how you both know what the other ones going to do," Manon said.
"Adrian's waiting." Alya said.
"I'm ready for the photoshoot," Marinette said.
The photographer had noticed Manon.
"Who is that angel?" He asked. "You're the extra I'm looking for."
Manon smiled and looked at Marinette who was focused on Adrian.
'Can I?" Manon asked "Please"
"Sure" Marinette replied as Manon ran to where Adrian stood.
"Don't worry Marinette, there will be other chances?" Evie said.
The girls smiled as they watched Adrian and Manon.
