Opening File: The Contingency

(Callie Briggs, Deputy Mayor of GrimmFall appears on the screen.)
"Deputy Mayor, Callie Briggs recording: We have completed our main plans for infiltrating the fortress of Van Kleiss and have formulated an escape plan for the agents."
(Pictures Team SEKR, TEAM BATL, Raven, Artemis and Superboy appear next to Miss Briggs for a brief moment.)
"The plan consists of our agents reaching Van Kleiss' fortress before he can deploy his virus or use his ion cannons to target any populated cities in the country or even on the planet. We do not know the range of these ion cannons yet and we have intention of finding out the hard way. Our agents will make their way into the fortress, disable the cannons and capture the portal machine to allow our back up teams,"
(Next appeared pictures of the Justice Friends, the Legendary Warriors and other back up Huntsmen and Heroes)
"To join them to neutralize Van Kleiss and take control of the fortress before the Grimm army arrives in Nowhere. Military operation is already underway for evacuation of the town in the center of Nowhere and to scattered settlements we are aware of. However this now brings us to the Contingency."
(A file labelled 'Contingency' appears next to Miss Briggs.)
"Using the power of the Gem of Sight, Mayor Sebben has already listed a dozen possible futures of the outcome of our operation, taking any worse case scenario he could see and think of into account. The Contingency is a series of back-up plans made in case the initial plan fails such as failing to stop Van Kleiss before he releases his virus or attacks a populated area. That is the first worst case scenario. The second scenario is if the Grimm army arrives before our agents are successfully evacuated in time, possibly because the portal machine is damaged or destroyed or the Grimm army suddenly moves faster than anticipated."
(Miss Briggs takes a moment to adjust her glasses)
"Mayor Sebben has stressed we cannot underestimate our enemy and I have no intention of doing so. The Contingency for failure to evacuate before the Grimm arrive to attack our agents and Sammael makes a bid for the Gem of Heart. If that becomes the case, Mayor Sebben has reached out to all our major allies with this plan involving Scotty Blake and his enchanted sword."
(A picture of Scotty Blake appears next to Miss Briggs)
"If Scotty is still alive and in able condition at this point, his sword will be the key to saving all our agents and the hostages likely still held in Van Kleiss' fortress."

"It is impossible to predict all contingencies when creating a plan to engage the enemy. There will be always be the one unexplained or unpredicted factor, stemming from the initiative of the enemy, both known and unknown. Thus battle becomes more than just one side attempting to defeat the other, but a test of the skill, the mind and the ability to adapt and improve oneself through the chaos of unpredictability through sheer reflex. The ability to recognize one's error and correct it in the nick in the time, depends all on the speed on which they can recognize their opponent's movements for it is always the one who moves the swiftest that prevails." Sammael leaned back in his chair, bring a hand to his chin as he smiled softly at the audience. "It is important to check every detail of every strategy that your enemy employs and being clever to counter them. Otherwise you risk losing…Then again, when one is ready to play the game of life they must be ready to risk everything…Anything less and you prove yourself unworthy of the prizes that await."

Mordecai groaned from his sleep when he woke up by the sound of an alarm clock, switching it off after pressing the top with his hand. Letting out a tired yawn as he got up from bed, scratching his back and blinking his eyes to open them before he began his stretches. Getting out of bed and making his way to the bathroom to freshen himself up while feeling groggy to notice anything from his tired eyes. The Blue Jay Mobian turned the tap on and splashed his face with his feathered hands, with his sight cleared up, he was able to look at the mirror.
And he blinked to see a human with straight brown hair that reaches his shoulders and a pale ivory skin tone. He wore a maroon hoodie with its sleeves rolled up, a light red t-shirt,
Blinking in front of the mirror, as his reflection did the same and moved his hands when suddenly realized it was real.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!" Mordecai and his human reflection screamed and looked at himself to see himself a human and screamed.

Mordecai woke up from his dream he had and shot up from his seat. He looked down, finding he was his usual self, but wearing a black themed attire with a custom made rifle by his side.
"Dude! Chill!" Rigby was beside him when he heard his best friend screaming and startled by his sudden outburst. "You were dreaming."
"Rigby?" Mordecai looked at his hands as they were the same blue feathered hands and felt his beak. "Wooh, Gob, that was some bizarre dream. I woke up, looked at the mirror and saw myself in the mirror… as a human!"
"Whoa! Really? That must be some dream." Rigby thought the idea of Mordecai as a human was bizarre. "Man, imagine you as a human. That's new." Thinking it was all that training he did to be a Huntsman thanks to the mayor to be ready.
"What's the matter, ladies?" Muscle Man was lifting some heavy weights, took a liking to his new appearance and came to see him. "Getting second thoughts of the big fight ahead? Not to worry, the new improved Muscle Man will come to your rescue."
"Nah, Muscle Man, just something else and a weird one." Mordecai replied. "Anyway, how's the others, heard about what happened at Nowhere.
Muscle Man dropped the weights and raised his gloved fist. "Yeah, and if one of those punks is there he's gonna have a date with five of my best buds with his name on it."
"Remember what Yara told us, that guy has some freakish semblance so better watch your back dude." Mordecai learned about what happened in Denver, the Park staff were surprised and concerned for Team REYN but relieved to know they fully recovered from their fights to team up with the Elites, yet this proved to Sebben that the people responsible for this were not to be underestimated.
They waited for next instructions before deciding to take part in the battle to help the Heroes and Hunters.
"Man, so many Grimm and hunters all over the world are coming to one place. You think we might end up running into some pros like Action Hank, the Grimm Slayer, the Dragon of Denver, or the Justice Friends?" Rigby was almost excited of meeting his heroes. "I wanna get their autographs."
Suddenly the alarm went off to surprise everyone.
"What the?!"

"We just got word that the Saturdays still have the Kur Stone fragment but have yet to track their current location, your Eminence." A Satyra agent reported to the leader of the organization.
"So they are still on the move." He had been working alongside Argost to find the other pieces of the Kur Stone in order to revive the ancient Cryptid.
But in order to do that they need the three pieces that had been scattered by the Secret Scientists who were in charge of hiding them. They would no doubt be cautious from the previous encounter with Catra and Scorpia from Kumari Kandam.
"What is the current situation in Nowhere?"
"They're continuing the evacuation of the cities within the area, but I think one of our spies just saw one of that Salem's followers, that psycho scorpion Faunus."
Ah yes, the Fallen named Salem who would no doubt have been curious to find out about the coming battle before the Grimm Horde arrives, but it was no concern to him as long as their agreement still stood. "Do not confront this Faunus, leave him be for now. And what of these rumors of… defectors?"
"Still trying to locate their whereabouts, they caught us by surprise and took some of the cargo." The agent was nervous while his report, knowing it was not the sort of news His Eminence wanted to hear. "B-But rest assured, we'll be sure they regret facing us."
"Some of them were former operatives to know of the organization's resources and secrets they could use against Satyra." His Eminence hissed. "I want them dealt with as soon as possible! They must not ruin the plans."
His Eminence had been very careful of his true objective, ending the conversation and switched to a new screen to speak with someone else, revealing a face of a mutant Mobian cat with reptilian-traits. Yellowish-green eyes lacking pupils with three black-hair strands and wore a lab coat. "Dr. Viper, your report?"
"All is proceeding as planned, your Eminence." The well-known mutated villain reported with a rasping tone. "With the genetic samples of the Cryptics, Satyra will have a legion of mutated creatures at your disposal. We shall have the first generation by the deadline."
Approved the results from his geneticist of the developing project, with the loss of Dr. Basil Lancaster's research in creating an army of hybrids from Cryptid DNA, Dr. Viper would have to use the basic materials for his experiments. "What of the BT experiments?"
"We have managed to clone several for cybernetic conversion. Though I would have preferred to use some alternative methods to control them."
"Unlike most Cryptid species, this one is among the few that are not bound to Kur's will and thus could pose a threat. Which is why I need them augmented to better control them." His Eminence told the scientist for his reasons. "And also with Sammael's forces on the move against Van Kleiss and the Cluster about to awaken soon, Satyra must be ready. I shall be calling for all the Lieutenants for the meeting on their new assignments. Inform me on further results."
"As you wish, Eminence." Dr. Viper's screen goes off to end the transmission.

The far and wide wastelands of Nowhere were almost always quite outside of the hustle and bustle that is normally found in the town that shares the same name.
Then came the rumbling sound.
As it grew louder, a dust cloud settled over the land and a pair of binoculars spied the source of the sound and the dust clouds.
Grimm.
Destroyer Beetle Grimm to be precise.
They were as big as Beowolves and Ursa with sharp pointed 'noses' and twin horns on the side of their heads. Their red eyes seemed almost like glass as they glowed but was the most intimidating feature they had was their four scythe-like front legs that looked sharp enough to cut through solid stone. Right now they were on all six legs, stampeding towards the mountains of Nowhere and in massive numbers, appearing to be in the thousands to tens of thousands.
"I must say, there are a quite a few of those Grimm heading our way." Lowering his binoculars, Professor Rothchild of Nevernest Academy turned around, facing everyone else in the portal chamber. "How are we going to stop them if we cannot escape?"
"We're working on it." Extor along with Albert were in the ion reactor, working to stabilize it and prevent the fortress from blowing up with them in it.
The atmosphere was tense due to the heroes and hunters facing down the remnants of Van Kleiss' pack, all of whom were now free of his control but many of them remained hostile, especially in the wake of Sammael revealing that he had been the one behind Van Kleiss' actions in bringing them here to this universe.
Rothchild had no doubt that was also Sammael's intention.
Rile up the remnants of Van Kleiss' faction so they might resort violent and desperate measure if it meant surviving the onslaught that was about to come.
"We have only one option." Major Glory stepped forward. "I will lead anyone willing to join me out there and stop the frontal assault. Sammael will have his eyes on us the whole time and keeping them off of this fortress in time for you to come up with a plan."
"You plan to face down an entire army of Grimm led by Fallen on your own?" The Dragon of Denver, Dracon asked. "That's suicide, even for you."
"Not if he has back-up." Valhallen remarked as he stepped forward with a smile. "I'm in."
"Krunk help Flag-Man." Krunk brought a right fist into the palm of his left hand. "Krunk smash Grimm and bad guys!"
"Fine by me." Capital G stepped forward. "I can provide as much a distraction and maybe take out enough Grimm to force the big one to come out. If we topple that one, the rest of the Grimm will be easy."
"Oh yes, please. By all means, sacrifice yourselves and be the doo-goodie heroes."
The Justice Friends glared at the owner of the mocking voice, ChaosPiedmon.
"This affects the rest of you as well." Sebben stepped forward. "Sammael was the one who set Van Kleiss up to abduct everyone he had found an interest in, including the likes of you. You were made into his pawns to play in his schemes. Now that you've done your part, your usefulness to him is over and he'll kill you along with all of us to get what he wants."
"I knew it was a bad idea to be recruited by another dictator wannabee. I honestly don't know why I bother anymore." Shade muttered to himself.
"And you expect us to fight with you?" Grodd asked, ignoring Shade's complaining. "No thanks. I'll think we'll take our leave."
"And where can you go?" Superboy asked, taking a step towards the former Pack members. "This entire fortress is surrounded by an army of Grimm and robots. You'll be killed the moment you step outside."
"Then maybe we should have a shield."
The person who said this was none other than Brightburn as he shot forward and grabbed Superboy by the neck.
"I personally don't care about the Grimm or that freak. I just want to kill you first." Brightburn said as his eyes glowed, watching as Superboy struggled.
"Let him go!" Artemis pulled out an arrow and pointed it right at Brightburn. "Now!"
"I am told I'm supposed to be cloned from you." Brightburn ignored the archer girl, focusing on the half-Kryptonian he held by the throat. "But everything that was human was purged me…Making me pure. I'm stronger because I have no weak human DNA polluting my Kryptonian heritage."
"From what I see…" Superboy grunted. "I think you lost something important when they removed the human part."
"Maybe we should find out." Brightburn snarled and shot up through the ceiling, still holding Superboy with him.
"Superboy!" Artemis shouted.
Brightburn kept flying up until he shot right up through the top of Van Kleiss' fortress, holding Superboy in the air as he looked around and spied the massive army approaching the mountains.
"You think I should be afraid of this?" He brought Superboy's face close to his own. "I know how powerful Superman really is thanks to Van Kleiss downloading all of the information into my mind. A literal god amongst men. This army…is nothing just like you!"
He then dropped Superboy from the air, watching him fall to the ground and certain death…
Until Major Glory caught him.
The American themed hero landed with Superboy on the ground, several yards away from the fortress. "Are you all right?"
"Yeah." Superboy nodded in appreciation. "Thanks."
"No 'thank yous' are necessary." Major Glory replied before looking up in the air, glaring up at Brightburn who was glaring back down at them. "There's no way to get through to him, is there?"
"I honestly doubt it. He's like me…When I was created." Superboy looked up at the clone of himself, wondering if this is how Superman felt when they first met. "When I first woke up, I could barely keep myself together. I was just so angry all the time. Cadmus created me and put me through an accelerated learning process but I was like an infant who instantly grew and knew how to walk. He's the same as me but I think the powers he has…He's learning quickly where he stands in the pecking order and I'm not any of us are going to like where he believes he stands."
"I have the exact same feeling." Major Glory agreed, watching as Brightburn slowly hovered down towards, landing a few feet away.
The dark clouds, created by the arrival of the Grimm settled overhead and gave off the dark foreboding feeling to anyone who was watching.
"Major Glory huh? The so-called 'World's Strongest Hero'." Brightburn spoke mockingly. "You're more like me than him but I am more disgusted at how you act. All of this flying around in those bright colors, saving weaklings like him," Superboy glared for that insult. "And you think you're accomplishing anything by all that?"
"I'm accomplishing a lot right now." Major Glory retorted. "Most of that is protecting the people with me from you and I'm trying to warn you right now, this is not going to go the way you think."
"Oh really?" Brightburn raised an eyebrow.
"You think you're strongest being in existence. You might be close, close enough to be a real threat. But you're making a mistake writing off Sammael and the approaching Grimm as nothing." Major Glory pointed off in the distance where rumbling sounds could be heard. "I meant what I said, they're going to kill everyone here, including you if we don't start working together."
Brightburn simply laughed. "Will they now?"
"You have to be aware that Sammael wouldn't have allowed someone as powerful as you to exist if he wasn't sure he could get rid of you just as easily as he got rid of Van Kleiss." Major Glory kept trying to get through to mad clone.
"Yeah, now I want to see him up close. See him for what he is really like." Brightburn chuckled. "Maybe I'll drag both your bodies to him and see if that scares him."
"You really do not understand." Major Glory shook his head.
"Maybe…But that won't be your problem in a few minutes!" Brightburn shot at Major Glory, balling up a fist that he then launched at the American hero as soon as he was close enough.
However to his surprise, Major Glory raised his hand and caught the fist, the force of the punch only making him slide an inch back. Brightburn's eyes widened, having expected his punch to kill the major instantly.
"Not impressed." Major Glory said, sounding disappointed.
He clenched down on the fist, earning the sound of bones cracking and Brightburn cried out in pain. Before he could anything the major kicked him in the chest, sending him flying back and crashing through several boulders.
SMASH!
SMASH!
SMASH!
CRASH!
He crashed into the ground several yards away and grunted in pain as he slowly rolled over onto his front side and banged his fist on the ground in rage.
"ARGH!" He shouted in frustration as he stood up.
His eyes glowed and fired his heat-vision but Major Glory was already well prepared, firing his Star-Spangled Vision that collided with the Head-Vision blast, both attacks creating a blast of blinding light in mid-air before cancelling each other out. Brightburn growled as he then shot forward, trying another punch but this time Major Glory spun out of the way, dodging the fist and allowing Brightburn to fly past him. Just as he turned around to attack again, the major beat him to the punch and this time let loose with a punch of his own.
POW!
CRASH!
The force of the punch sent him flying back again and crashing right into the ground. It seemed the major had enough of this farce of a fight and flew down on Brightburn as he tried getting up and slammed his knee right into the clone's face.
"ARGH!"
"Now are you going to listen to me?" Major Glory asked, keeping Brightburn pinned down with a leg on his chest. "I'm trying to help you!"
Brightburn let out an angry yell as he slammed his fists into the ground and pulled two large pieces that he then slammed into the major. However Major Glory blocked both hits but it was distracted enough for Brightburn to knock him off with a kick. The demented clone jumped up to his feet and shot at Major Glory, planning to kill the hero but a bolt of lightning shot down from the sky and hit him, actually causing him pain as he screamed.
Valhallen, the Viking God of Rock landed next to Major Glory, aiming his Mighty Axe at the clone. "This guy's got a lot of issues."
Brightburn growled as he got back up, his eyes blazing red. "That…hurt."
"Brandon, you have to stop." Superboy stepped forward. "All of this anger and rage, it's going to be the end of you. Let us help you."
"I don't need help!" Brightburn snapped. "I'll kill you! I'll kill you dead! All of you dead!"
"Well, I suppose you have your answer."
Everyone stopped at the voice coming from above.
Major Glory's eyes went wide but then narrowed as he looked up and spoke the name of the owner's voice. "Sammael."
The King of the Grimm and the Fallen himself was hovering in the air, watching the spectacle with an amused look on his face. Vallhallen and Superboy readied themselves for battle while Major Glory clenched his fists and Brightburn simply looked up at him.
"Don't worry, the majority of the Grimm are still behind me. I just chose to go on ahead when I saw you all playing here." Sammael stated, keeping his amused smile. "I go through the trouble of assembling this entire army and making my grand entrance and this is the reaction? You all having a playground brawl as my army approaches?"
"So you're Sammael." The Fallen King watched as Brightburn slowly hovered up to meet him in mid-air.
The two were silent as they stared each other down for a moment.
"I am still waiting to see why Van Kleiss was afraid of you." Brightburn said with a scoff.
"Van Kleiss always liked to bite off more than he could chew and I see it remains even after his end." Sammael replied as he carefully looked Brightburn over. "A Kryptonian clone, likely spawned by the half-breed down below but has been stripped of the human DNA."
"I am better than him…Just as I am better than you." Brightburn said darkly.
"Oh?"
"You only waited until everyone was tried from fighting to show yourself." Brightburn pointed at Sammael. "It's because you are afraid of how strong I and everyone else are."
"Afraid am I?" Sammael seemed amused by the accusation. "You really were born yesterday or even the day before that. It is not cowardice to be prudent, especially when facing down so many enemies and if I am so afraid as you believe why do I stand before you now?"
"So I can kill you myself." Brightburn brought his fists up and shot forward with blinding speed…
Only to be repelled by an invisible barrier that surrounded the Fallen King.
"Better warriors than you have tried." Sammael's hand pulsed black as he raised it.
Brightburn snarled as he recovered and prepared his heat vision and fired. Sammael fired his own eye beams that collided with the heat vision, creating another blast of blinding light. During this time, Sammael's turned completely black and lashed out into long sharp lances that connected with Brightburn. Due to the clone's arrogance he believed he would not be hurt but due the supernatural origin of Sammael's powers, the claws actually broke through the super strong skin and pierced Brightburn's heart, going right through the other side.
Brightburn's eyes went wide as his Heat-Vision dissipated and he looked down, seeing the claws piercing his chest.
"NO!" Major Glory shot up.
Sammael pulled his claws back, watching as a dark purple mist rose up from the wound he had inflicted. Brightburn's eyes rolled back as he fell down below and into Major Glory's arms. The hero floated down onto the ground as Superboy and Valhallen rushed over on either side, watching as Brighburn's skin turned pale white and he stared up blankly at the sky with uncertainty…
And fear.
And then he became still as Major Glory checked his pulse. "…He's gone."
The hero looked up at Sammael with an angered look. "You monster."
"One could say Brighburn was much a monster as I am and yet you sought to save his life." Sammael snickered. "Major Glory, the symbol of Justice. Embodying all the positive American traits. Your unending compassion…continues to disgust me."
"Sammael!" Major Glory stood up, looking ready to attack.
"I hope you take the moment to consider what might happen if you act recklessly, Major Glory. Your uncle was the same way." Sammael taunted, likely trying to see if he could get a rise out of the major.
To his credit, Major Glory didn't lose it at the mention of his uncle.
"Either way, you should be considering the other problem right now." Sammael held a hand up to the sky. "Like leaving everyone in the tower open to attack."
All around the tower, Grimm known as Volcano Toads were lined up just outside of the mountains.
"Let it rain fire." Sammael brought his hand down.
With that, the Volcano Toad Grimm's cannons that were part of their bodies glowed…before firing balls of dark matter and fire into the air…
That then began falling towards the former fortress of Van Kleiss.

INFINITY TRAIN ARC
The Toy Box Car
"Uh…Wha…"
When Mabel opened her eyes she felt herself lying down on something soft. Looking around, she saw only darkness with only a bit of light shining down on her. As she sat up her ears perked up at hearing a strange sound.
It almost sounded like…
Music?
"Where am I?" She stood up but then slipped and landed on something soft. "Wah!"
Her scream was muffled when it landed on the strange softness underneath her and she slowly sat up, rubbing her head all the while with her green glowing hand.
Wait.
Green glowing hand?
Mabel stopped and looked at her hand, seeing a green glowing number on her palm. "What the Mabel juice?"
287
"Well, that's weird." Mabel looked back and forth. "If Dipper was here he'd probably freak out and grab my hand, asking me why I have a number."
Wait...
That's right, Dipper.
He was going to be Grunkle Ford's apprentice and she would be left to go home and attend high school alone.
The sudden recall made Mabel sad but as she lowered her hand she didn't notice the number change.
315
"I got to get out of here." She whispered to herself and started making her way through the strange soft objects surrounding her. "What are these-AHH!"
She held up her glowing hand and it shined on the nearest face, revealing what looked like a tiger. Mabel screamed and stumbled back, thinking she was about to die.
Only the tiger didn't attack.
She held up her hand again and the green light shined on the so-called 'tiger'.
"Huh?" She reached out and touched it, feeling the soft gentle feeling she felt ever since she had awoken here.
It was a toy.
"A stuffed tiger?" Mabel pulled her hand back and looked around.
They were all the same.
Stuffed animals.
She was in some kind of…box with stuffed animals.
"Okay…" Mabel had no idea how to respond to this.
The last thing she remembered was following that Jack guy through the doors and…
That was it.
"Why am I here?" Mabel muttered as she started to climb her way up past the stuffed animals. "How did I get here?"
It was all too confusing.
She just wanted to know…
She reached the top of the pile where the light was, coming from a small edge and she pushed up against the ceiling.
The lid came off the box and allowed Mabel to climb out of the box.
"Now-WHA!" Mabel gaped at what she saw in front of her.
Everywhere she could see was a child's dream literally come to life, stuffed toys and box with toy planes flying above her and toy cars driving along the floor in front of her.
"Wow…" Mabel gaped as she looked around in pure childish awe. "This place is…AMAZING!"
It was every child's dream come true.
Giant building blocks.
Toy chest the size of a house.
Rocking horses that were flying through the air.
The walls were made of paper cut out buildings with windows imprinted on them covered in diamonds.
Mabel laughed as she ran up to the pink horse. "Wow!"
This place was too good to be true.
Almost like a dream.
"Wait, am I dreaming?" Mabel wondered and pinched herself. "Ow!"
She stopped and looked around.
"Maybe not the first one."
Pinch
"Ow!"
Still seeing it.
"One more for good measures."
Pinch
"Ow!"
And she was still here in this…Giant toy palace.
It was not a dream.
"It's real…" Mabel rubbed her now aching arm as she looked around in stunned realization that slowly morphed into a big smile. "IT'S REAL!"
She ran around, wanting to see and touch every inch of this place she had woken up in. She wanted to see all the cute little toys they had.
And she wanted to show it all to Dipper and-
"Dipper…" Mabel stopped suddenly in the middle of the place. "I wonder if he would be happy to be here as me."
A musical theme was then heard and Mabel spied a karaoke machine with actual toys sitting in front of it and one of them trying to sing but came out a series of muffled words.
"Karaoke!" Mabel squealed and rushed over. "Can I try?"
The toy, which was a stuffed white rabbit which made it even cuter handed her the microphone and she went on stage. She shifted through the songs and picked out what she wanted and when she was satisfied she held the microphone to her mouth…
And began to sing:
Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the streetwise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed
Late at night, I toss and I turn
And I dream of what I need
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
Larger than life
Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere, just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me
Racing on the thunder
And rising with the heat
It's gonna take a Superman to sweep me off my feet, yeah
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I could swear there is someone, somewhere watching me
Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach like a fire in my blood
(Like a fire in my blood, like a fire in my blood
Like a fire in my blood, like a fire in my blood, blood)
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
The song ended and Mabel lowered the microphone, smiling as the toy audience clapped their hands and applauded her singing. She gave a bow as she stepped off the stage, happily smiling she was able to make these toys or whatever they were happy with her singing.
'If only I could make my family and friends as happy.' Mabel thought to herself with a sigh but wiped it away. 'Maybe I will one day…'
If they were somehow still together after all this time.
'Dipper wanting to be Grunkle Ford's apprentice…I know it's what he wants and I should be happy.' Mabel thought as she walked into a giant toy house and found a bed to lie down on. 'But I am still so scared…I'm scared of being left alone after everything we've been through. All we had was each other growing up, no one wanted to be our friends because everyone thought we were freaks.'
That had hurt Mabel the most.
'Dipper was all I had and then came Grunkle Stan and then Wendy, Soos, Nyx, Hoagie, Grenda and Candy came along and I had everything I wanted. Now with summer ending I have to give it all up.' Mabel turned in her bed. 'Is it wrong of me to wish none of it was changing? That we could be together forever?'
She buried her face in the pillow.
'Dipper, I'm sorry…I just…I am just so scared and I can't go through all of it on my own.' Mabel curled up into a ball. 'Are you even worried about me? Are you even looking for me? I wish…I wish you were here and we could have fun again…Just the two of us.'
Mabel closed her eyes and fell asleep. Once she did, a pair of toys resembling stuffed bears came out and draped some covers over her so she would stay warm in her sleep. As she slept, Mabel's number seemed to go down.
