The Three Musketeers, But Not Really
After being dropped off at school, Kiki smiled as she stood before her school. A. Nigma High! She was here! She was in high school, a student at the place where four years prior so much excitement and adventure happened! Kiki could hardly wait! What adventure awaited her? A mysterious organization? A cult? Aliens? Lightly bouncing up and down, she clapped her hands together and softly giggled.
"Kiki!" Kiki turned her head and smiled. Running towards her was one of her oldest friends, whom she had known since kindergarten: Oleg Makarov. He was a blond Russian boy, wore transition glasses so he didn't need to put on sunglasses, and was quite athletic in build, if not actually in practice. Wearing a white shirt and black pants and shoes, he ran up to Kiki and upon reaching her, put his hands on his knees and started to breathe heavily. "I'm so glad I found you, Kik!"
"Really?" Kiki inquired excitedly. "What is going on? Did your parents find a treasure map in their pet shop? What is it for? Gold? Silver? Treasures that were smuggled out of Nazi Germany and somehow ended up here in Canada? Oh, I can hardly wait! Tell me, Oleg! Tell me, tell!"
Oleg could only stare with eyes glazed over at his friend as she bounced up and down excitedly, clapping her hands together and gigging like a child receiving a wrapped present. He then answered: "I wanted to meet up with you before lunch!"
Her inner balloon deflating, Kiki ceased with her bouncing, giggling and clapping. A small smile on her face, she asked: "You think we'll be in the same classes together?"
Laughing, Oleg answered: "Kiki, you, me and Hana have been in the same classes since kindergarten! Nothing is going to change."
"Speaking of Hana, where is she?" asked Kiki, looking back and forth.
Hana Hashimoto was the daughter of Japanese immigrants who had come to Canada back in 2007. Ever since they had met in kindergarten, Kiki and her had been close friends and together she, Oleg and Hana considered themselves to be the Three Musketeers, but not really, because that would mean one of the them would have to be that traitor Aramis. Ever since they had all read the d'Artagnan Romances the previous summer, they had agreed that it was in their best agreements to stop calling themselves that and find a different trio to name themselves after.
"Guten tag, you two!" Kiki smiled as Hana ran up from behind her and Oleg and hugged them. She was a chunky girl with medium-length brown hair wearing a blue sweater and shorts of the same colouration. Always one with an interest in languages, one never knew what language she would greet people in. "How are you both?"
"Great, Hana!" Oleg groaned. "Can you let go? I think you are cracking two of my ribs!"
Letting go, Hana crossed her arms and smirked at Oleg. "Sorry, Oleg. I forgot you are delicate."
"I most certainly am not!" objected Oleg. "You are just freakishly strong! I wouldn't be surprised if you strangled two snakes when you were a baby!"
Shrugging, Hana looked at Kiki and asked: "How you doing, girl? Your cousin still engaged to that guy?"
Nodding happily, Kiki replied: "Mmhmm! Irena and Louis are still engaged and Irena is looking for bridesmaids and she asked if I would know anyone who would like to be one alongside me! Are you interested, Hana?"
"Depends." Said Hana, smiling a bit. "Have you met the groom's family?"
"I have, Hana, and I know there is someone you would love to meet!"
"Then, girl, I am in!"
