Chapter 6

Warmachine375- Hard no on everything you said. Sorry.

So, before the chapter starts, I have something to say.

So, uh...Apex Legends is planning on releasing Catalyst, a Transgender woman, soon and I'm thinking about adding her to my Apex Legends/Gundam UC crossover along with the other Legends (Spoilers). How do you think I should write her correctly? Like should I add confrontation about her being a trans person from the Gundam cast or should I leave it alone because that's a big can of worms that's very volatile? Also, should I do the same with Bloodhound as their nonbinary?

Also, how would any of you write about nonbinary people and transgender people? Like how would you all do this without offending the least amount of people because this is a very hot topic for people right now.

Wraith

Wraith stayed silent as she looked at the pair of double doors that Pathfinder and Horizon went through. Behind those doors were the people behind the workings of Anaheim Electronics. Or at least those in this branch. From what she gathered so far about Anaheim, it was a sort of Mega-corporation that handled a bunch of products, ranging from everyday equipment for civilian usage to experimental weapons technology for the Earth Federation, the Federal Government in this universe. It was like Hammond Robotics, just smaller and less powerful than that Mega-corporation.

Going back on track, after they went inside the building, Horizon had Pathfinder show off what he can do in the lobby building as well as asking the receptionist if she can arrange a private meeting with those in charge, saying she had something extraordinary to show them. Well, it took awhile, but Horizon managed to get an appointment with the branch's leadership after someone showed them video proof of Pathfinder and what he can do. It must have intrigued them greatly as they immediately ordered that Horizon and Pathfinder meet with them in their meeting room, taking the meat that Horizon left dangling out for them to take and like wolves they took it without hesitation. Thus, where they were now. Pathfinder and Horizon were with the branch leadership, trying to get them all jobs in Anaheim Electronics while Bloodhound, Mirage, and herself were waiting nearby for the verdict.

Crossing her arms over her chest, Wraith wondered what the outcome will be. Will Horizon be successful on getting them jobs or they have to keep looking? She doubted the latter, based on how hungry and curious the branch leaders were when they saw Pathfinder before the doors closed, but she didn't want to put all her hopes on one thing. She learned that lesson the hard way.

Taking a deep breath, Wraith then looked at Bloodhound as they sharpened their war axe, a memento from their people, using a blade sharpener they always carried with them. Mirage, meanwhile, was making a conversation with a group of Anaheim Electronics employees that gathered around him. Judging by the smile on his face, Mirage was having the time of his life in conversing with the employees. And it seemed that the female employees were smitten with his charming smile and looks. Annoyed with Mirage, yet again, at trying to be the big star that he thinks he is. Granted, he was back in their universe, but here he wasn't. To these people, he was just a guy. Just a normal guy that was, admittedly handsome to most people, but just a normal guy. Not a long-time running member of a blood sport that celebrated those that survive even one event, let multiple.

She respected Mirage. She really did. Heck, he was one of the few legends that she was actually close to along with Pathfinder. She was a loner, after all, but goddamn did he annoy the heck out of her at times with his need to be recognized.

Sighing to herself, Wraith hoped that Horizon's meeting with the people in charge of this branch of this mega-corporation will be done soon. Not only so they don't have to worry about getting jobs and money, but also so she can get away from Mirage's latest attempt to impress people.

Later

Hotel

As Wraith had thought, the corporate heads that Horizon talked with were more than eager to obtain the technology found in Pathfinder. More than enough in that they gave into every demand that Horizon made to them. Demands that rather modest given how much those corporate heads wanted Pathfinder, but Horizon didn't want to make their demands to high in case they decline because of their high demands.

First off, she demanded that they all be employed in positions in Anaheim Electronics that were all paid fairly high with benefits as well. Second, she demanded an acceptable place for them to all live together that was fairly far away from the Anaheim Electronics building. House. Hotel. It didn't matter just as long as they all lived in the same roof and fairly isolated from the rest of the colony. When asked why, Horizon explained that a few of her mates were uncomfortable around a lot of people in a place they deem as home and she wanted to do her best to accommodate them. That was a lie, of course. The real reason was because of Revenant and them not wanting him to go around people that have even the slimmest of chances of seeing him. And if that happens…well they didn't want to imagine what Revenant would do or Anaheim will do when they find out they have a psycho killer robot under their roof, whose technology would make them want him even more than Pathfinder. Simulacrum technology. Revenant's totems and silence grenades. All of that was something anyone would want and they would have showed it all to Anaheim if it weren't for the fact of Revenant himself not liking the idea of him being dissected in the name of science. And there was really only one answer Revenant had when it came to things he didn't like now that the Syndicate wasn't around to prevent Revenant from killing anyone he wanted. Granted they couldn't really stop him from sneaking out of the house whenever they wanted, doing so would only encourage him to be more defiant to them. More so than he already is. Thus, they could only minimize the chances of people seeing him and thus having them die to the psychotic Simulacrum.

And the third demand she made was that Pathfinder would, under no circumstances, will be dismantled for study and that he would be under her supervision at all times. That demand left more than a few of the branch's leadership annoyed, but they complied. Especially when she promised them that there was plenty of other technologies that she can provide them in return. Technology that Mirage can help in providing them, much to Mirage's dismay.

After some negotiations, Horizon managed to find a respectable position in this branch's R&D department. She also managed to land everyone else jobs as well. Mirage got a bartender job as he owned a bar in addition to his role as an Apex Legend, serving drinks to anyone that went there, including fellow Legends. Mirage was relieved that he got a job that he was, at the very least, experienced with, but played off his relief by acting like it wasn't a big deal, much to Wraith's amusement. Wraith and Bloodhound, on the other hand, got jobs as security guards for Anaheim Electronics. Though Wraith used to be a scientist before she got her void powers, it was a part of her past that she was no longer in tune with anymore. And Bloodhound, although a capable hunter and smart in their own way, was no scientist. Thus, they were better off as a security guard than doing anything involving science, much to their understanding. Thus, with all the human legends having jobs, they departed to their temporary home, the hotel, as Anaheim Electronics needed a bit of time to find and give them a new home that fitted their criteria. In the meantime, the Legends were having a celebration about their new jobs. Well, Mirage was the one that was celebrating as that meant they won't go hungry due to lack of money. Pathfinder joined in shortly because he was…well Pathfinder. Everyone else was either planning on what to show to Anaheim Electronics tomorrow or keeping an eye on Revenant, whom came back to the hotel a few minutes after them. When asked about this, the Simulacrum just chuckled and said they'll find out later in the news.

Wraith, keeping an eye on Revenant along with Bloodhound, was looking through the television provided by the hotel to see what Revenant meant. As she did so, she wondered just how much they can keep an eye on the psychotic Simulacrum while they're out doing their jobs. She doubted he'll stay in one place for too long. The Simulacrum thrived in murder and violence and she really doubted that he would just stay in their temporary home for days, potentially months, even years, without even killing someone, even if it was relatively isolated from the rest of the colony. In the Apex Games, he's been known to kill dozens of competitors without mercy. Most of which ended in painful deaths. They needed to find a way to keep an eye on him. To keep him from killing people. Otherwise, a whole lot of innocent people may end up going missing or dying.

Looking through the television, something that she struggled initially because of how primitive it was compared to what she was used to, Wraith found what Revenant meant by them finding out what he's been up to in the news. Looking at a news channel, she saw a news crew talking about a recent murder of an entire family, children and elderly included. Hearing that the deaths were done with thing, but sharp blades and showed signs of broken bones, Wraith turned at Revenant and glared at him. The Simulacrum just chuckled as he showed his hand before turning his fingers into a singular, razor-sharp blade.

"What can I say, girlie?" Asked Revenant as Wraith glared at him along with everyone else that heard the news. "Didn't want the kids to grow as orphans and come back for revenge. Learned my lesson with Loba." Revenant just chuckled as he felt sick amusement at the glares he was getting. Things were going to get exciting for him.
