"Okay just got to find Adrien and Kagami," Marinette said to herself as she exited the Bourgeois Manor. Luckily there didn't seem to be any talk about strange new people. Living in the kingdom center had many perks but also came a lot of gossip.
"I hope they haven't gotten in too much trouble." Marinette started rubbing her temple.
"Um girl are you okay?" Marinette turned around and gasped a little.
"Oh Alya am I glad to see you."
"Wow I didn't think dealing with Chloe would be so tiresome." Alya laughed for a few seconds before noticing Marinette's face. "Oh no did, did you fail?"
"No not that." Marinette looked around before walking over to Alya. "Can we go somewhere more private?"
"Okay Marinette so what's going on?" Alya asked once the two where standing in the back of alley.
"Okay here we go." Marinette took a deep breath in. "So Chloe asked me to retrieve this artifact for her called the Sleeping Sun. However, the Sleeping Sun is a prince that was cursed three hundred years ago into a deep slumber. But Chloe didn't think it was a person so easy find something to give her. So my team and I went to the prince's kingdom which was guarded by a dragon named Kagami. Well turns out Adrien, oh that's the prince's name Adrien, can only be awoken by a kiss from someone worthy of his love. And Kagami deemed ME worthy. I wasn't gonna kiss him but something came over and I did. He woke up. So him and Kagami tagged along back with me but they ran off and now I can't find them!"
Alya stayed frozen for a second. Eyes not leaving Marinette once.
"So you befriended a dragon?" She asked after a while.
"Yes but..."
"Wow even now you impress me. Okay got that out, so you actually kissed this prince."
"I didn't even want to." Marinette collapsed her head in her hands. "Something just came over me."
"Hmm if I had to guess the curse affect you in some way. Like it wanted to be broken."
"Alya it's a curse."
"Well this Prince Adrien definitely wanted it to be broken Whether he was aware of it or not."
"But kiss from a girl worthy of his love!" Marinette started to quickly breath in and out.
"Don't worry girl." Alya gently held Marinette's shoulders until she calmed down. "Listen I know that love can often refer to romantic love but there are other kinds of love. Like I love you girl. Platonically of course. Maybe who ever curse him..."
"Alya are you okay?"
"There is something off though." Alya tapped her chin and looked up at the sky. "The conditions for this curse breakings. Seems more like punishing someone else not Adrien."
"Well there more to it but it is risky to say at the moment." She leaned in close and whispered in Alya's ear. "His parents cursed him and the way to break it was changed. Unfortunately, that's really I feel comfortable telling you right now."
"Oh this is interesting." Alya gave an excited grin. "Don't worry this secret is safe with me. Now let's go find this lost prince."
"And we are The Dupain-Cheng Family Bakery!" Rose cheered as they reached the outside of a building. It looked a little older than the surrounding ones with newly painted letters on the sign in gold. A woman walked by the window before opening the door and smiling.
"Rose whatever do we own honor too?" The woman said with a curtsy.
"Hello Mrs Cheng." Rose gave her an excited wave. She proceeded to gesture to Adrien and Kagami. "I brought some friends of Marinette who were looking for her."
"Oh yes Marinette asked me to be on the look out." Mrs. Cheng walked downed the stairs. Holding her dress as she did. "She had to meet with Lady Bourgeois but figured she at least let us know you might so up. You two can call me Sabine I am Marinette's mother."
"My Lady thought of everything." Adrien smiled widely, unaware of the glares Kagami was giving him. "She is so amazing!"
"There you are!" Adrien turned to see Marinette standing there with a girl around her age. She ran over and hugged Adrien tightly. Quietly she whispered to him. "I'm so glad you're safe."
"Marinette who are your friends?"
"Oh Rose!" Marinette let go of Adrien walked over the duchess. The two shared a quick hug. "I wasn't excepting to see you here!"
"Oh I ran into your two friends here. They said they were looking for you so I figured I'd lead them here."
"Thank you Rose."
"Though I wish you told everyone you got a boyfriend."
"Boyfriend? Oh Adrien is not my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend? Is that some modern slang for courtship?" Adrien thought to himself. "I guess that makes sense. Father and mother always talked about how a good courtship led to a good marriage. So should I kiss her hand or something?"
"Oh you know word on the street is Miss Chloe threw you invited to Lady Audrey's party." Rose smiled slyly at her.
"She did." Marinette dug through her bag before pulling out a piece of paper. "I am so surprised she did."
"Well then I look forward to seeing you AND Adrien there." Rose laughed before turning around. "Got to go see you around."
"We might as well head inside too." Mrs. Cheng said. She glanced back at Adrien and Kagami. "It seems there is a lot to talk about."
"I must say all this is unexcepted," Sabine said after Marinette explained everything to her parents.
"Marinette I understand letting your parents in on this," Kagami spoke through gritted teeth. "But why is she here!"
"Alya is best friend and she is fully aware of Marc, Nathaniel, and Tikki." Marinette crossed her arms.
"Yes we are aware of Marinette's magical companions." Sabine looked at her daughter fondly. Reminding Adrien of the way his own mother looked at him the last time unknowingly he ever saw her. "I always knew she had something special within her."
"Mom!" Marinette felt brush rush to her cheeks as her mom giggled softly.
"So can I come out now?" A voice rang out from Adrien's cloak.
"Oh sorry Plagg," Adrien lifted his arm and the kwami flew out. Stretching a little once he was free.
"Now this something!" Alya stood up and began examining the kwami. "Seeing Tikki is one thing but a second kwami wow. How did you find him so quickly?"
"Actually Plagg and I have known each other since before." Adrien froze for a second. Staring off into space. After a few seconds he shook his head. "Since before someone cursed me. For no good reason."
"Wow the relationship between a kwami and holder is incredible. Seems like nothing can break it apart!" Alya stared at Adrien and Plagg with intrigue.
"Well I've known a kwami or two who made a bad choice. But in my whole life it's more often than not we're bonded for life."
"I must say Tikki has been a great taste tester." Tom laughed a little
"But I must say cursing someone for three hundred years is a bit excessive." Sabine shook her head. "No matter what who that insane person was trying to hurt they got nothing from it. Sure fairies live that long but even for them seems excessive."
"I need to find you did this to me." Adrien's voice broke with every word. "Not for me. But for my parents. They deserve closer."
"And I intend to keep my promise." Marinette wrapped her arm around Adrien's shoulder. "We will find them."
"This isn't how I excepted this to happen but Marinette I do approve of your new boyfriend." Tom said with a small wink.
"Dad we're not dating!"
"Well if you ever do. I approve."
"Unfortunately I believe we do have to change the subject." Sabine said looking at her husband who nodded. "Adrien, Kagami you two technically have no where to go."
"Oh I have an idea!" Alya said raising her hand. "One of the small house's Nino's family owns recently had it's tenant move out. I'm sure they'd be happy to take you two in for the time being. At least until you get on your feet."
"That shouldn't be too much trouble." Adrien dug into his bag and pulled out a small pouch. "Before we left I was able to gather some currency of the Agreste Kingdom and I could easily trade it in for yours."
"Adrien hate to break it to you but that currency is kind of worthless." Alya winced a little as she spoke. "No one has used that in centuries and the Agreste Kingdom isn't ancient enough for said currency to sell to collectors or a museum. And even if you tried to sell said coins you wouldn't make nearly as much as those are probably worth."
"King Gabriel and Queen Emilie did leave Adrien some treasure in the castle." Kagami turned to Adrien with an intense look. "You wouldn't have happened to brought any with you? Perhaps we could sell it."
"No I didn't think too." Adrien looked away. The diadem in his bag now feeling slightly heavier.
"Lady Chloe did give me a decent payout for this mission and since you did help me out, it's only fair I give you half. Hopefully that should be enough to get you on your feet."
"Thank you Marinette. Thank you."
