Chapter 8: To know a captain

It had been two days since the arrival of Sasha to the tower, and as the sun began to rise over the horizon once again, the peace of the atmosphere was suddenly shattered by the bellow of a wild animal. -WAKE UP EVERYONE!- Sasha shouted from atop the tower -FIVE LINES ON THE PLAZA NOW! WHOEVER ARRIVES LATE IS ON JANITOR DUTY FOR THE NIGHT!-. In the blink of an eye, all the toads in the tower hopped out of their bedrooms and went to the plaza outside the tower to line up; meanwhile, the captain woke up and prepared himself for the morning speech when suddenly someone came knocking at his door. -You better have a good excuse to be late for the lineup, soldier!- the captain stated, thinking it was the same soldier who always was late for the lineup, but to his surprise, the voice came from someone different; -Captain- Sasha stated -lieutenant reporting for duty-. The captain opened the door and saw Sasha with one mess of a hairline, -Oh my… I didn't expect you to wear a bush for a head- the captain stated as he let her in his room, -Funny- she annoyedly replied -Is there a shower in this place? I haven't showered in days, and I somehow forgot about it-, -Well, there is one in front of the room you're in- he stated, but before he could state another sentence, Sasha headed straight for the room in question, only to return a few seconds later with a face that seemed of a frog with nausea. -WHY IS IT ALL COVERED IN SLIME?!- she asked furiously, -What? We use slime to get rid of dead skin- the captain replied, and that made things worse; -YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU BATHE ON THAT?!- Sasha angrily argued -and I thought the river water was bad!-. -Ok, listen- he stated after looking out of the window and seeing his troops beginning to break ranks and fool around -this place isn't a five star hotel, we are warriors and we use what we have, OK?-, -You could've at least warned me about it when I got here- Sasha whined. The captain then proceeded to exit the room and go back to the roof, with Sasha on toe, and as he saw down on his troops to begin his speech, they had all broken ranks and began chattering and playing around.

The captain sounded a horn to get them to reform lines and stand firmly in their places, and the toads instantly hurried back to formation. -Alright, I got their attention- the captain told Sasha -now, here's a list of announcements that are supposed to be made today-, -And why aren't you saying them?- Sasha asked him, -I'm simply testing you- he replied -I need to see if my army can take you seriously-, -And why did you not do that yesterday?- she asked, -We don't have all day- the captain cut her off -just go and talk to them-. Sasha took the list and approached the edge of the top of the tower with a groan on her face; -Good morning, toad army!- she greeted with a dead voice -it is the beginning of a new cycle, and thus I have a few announcements from your one and only captain to inform you-. All the toads began to chat among themselves and tried to guess what "changes" has the captain decided to make. -First of all, I'm glad to announce that… spicy cricket legs are back on the cafeteria menu?- Sasha shouted in confusion, but every toad received that piece of news with joy, -And that we've located the scraps of an old Drone a few miles from here- she continued -, meaning we will have enough materials to upgrade our weapons?!-. As expected, the soldiers cheered her on, -I must warn though, this is not going to be an easy task, but if we work together, we will get every single piece necessary for our war needs- she concluded and all the soldiers began to happily jump around, -Well, if you all now would head inside while I take a word with your captain- she said in an annoyed tone -so why don't you all go to the cafeteria to grab some breakfast?-; soon, all the toads made their way back into the tower while Sasha went back inside to confront the captain, who was trying to solve a crossword.

-What sort of bullshit are these announcements?- Sasha complained as the captain turned his attention back to her -Like, cricket legs? Seriously?, and also, a drone? A DRONE?!-, -Yeah, those are very valued- the captain replied, -Y'know what, I'm not even going to question that- Sasha stated -anyway, when will I leave this place?-. The captain's face changed all of a sudden as he heard that. -What? Why?!- he asked in shock -I need you for what I made you say!-, -Listen, I am in a hurry to find my friends and get home, as I have no idea on what sort of world is this- she replied -not to also state that your place looks like shit. I think I should deserve better if I am the lieutenant of this army, don't you think?-. Her "lieutenant" had a point, but he barely had anything to give, -Listen, this place isn't a hotel- the captain tried to reason with her -we don't serve the finest food, the best rooms, not even the best view, but it's at least enough to keep us bonded together, why are you not satisfied?-. Sasha felt a bit of guilt about that statement from the captain; after all, his soldiers took her in, and while not in the most graceful of manners, she at least had a roof over her head. -OK, I'll make you a deal- Sasha reluctantly stated -I will stay and be your lieutenant…-, -Thank you!- the captain joyfully replied, -BUT- she continued -I want you to tell me what this whole plan of yours is about, like why you need to use parts of a drone to make weapons, why you need an assistant that isn't a toad to help you, why exactly do you want to rebel against the crown, all of that and your history-. -And that is for…?- the captain asked, -To trust you- she replied -You never told me about yourself, wouldn't it be at least fitting for the lieutenant to know her captain?-. -Oh, Lieutenant- the captain stated in a laugh -there will be a long time for that along the way-.

With the soldiers' stomachs filled up, all of them put on their armor and awaited the orders of their captain. -You don't have any armor my size?- she asked while the captain tried to find any spare armor for her, -I'm gonna be honest here- he replied -I don't-, -you got at least some spare metal plate or something?- she then asked, the captain then managed to find a small chest plate, -I'm not sure if this one fits you, but here you go- said the captain as he gave her a scratched, golden chest plate, -Looks a bit worn down, but I'll take it- she replied as she put it on. With both of them ready, the captain once again went outside to give the orders, and once again he found his toads messing around. -HEY, YOU PILLOCKS!- he yelled, but the soldiers didn't seem to pay attention like last time; -HEY! WAKE UP YOU BLITHERING IDIOTS!- Sasha yelled at them -YOUR CAPTAIN HAS AN ANNOUNCEMENT!-, -T… thanks?- the captain replied, -Just start telling them something or they'll go ape shit again- Sasha hurried him up as all the toads were watching them both. -Soldiers, today we shall make an advancement in our weaponry by taking those scraps back to our base!- the captain stated -and with them we will be able to upgrade our defenses and grow stronger!-; the soldiers cheered him on and started to move to the gate, -Not bad, captain- said Sasha in a cocky voice, -Thanks lieutenant- the captain replied -now then, get your bird partner ready and follow me-, -Bird?- she asked nervously, as she had no idea where that metallic bird had gone -oh, well, it's still charging-, -That's unfortunate- the captain stated -I guess you're going to need this then-. With that said, the captain gave Sasha a sword; it had a heron shaped rain-guard, and it had a teal coloration that was a little opaque in comparison to her eye color, -oh, um, thanks?- Sasha tried to thank the captain, but she was still baffled at such a gift that she had no words to say, -Take good care of it, lieutenant- the captain stated -now, let's move. That metal body isn't going to be found by itself-.

Soon the party began the journey, heading west following the captain's map, and while Sasha may not be very interested in a pile of scrap metal from somewhere far from the tower, at least she had some company to talk to. -So… how did you become captain in the first place- she decided to ask -you sorta look like a softie given your pleas back in the tower-, -You dare to call me like that?!- the captain replied with surprise -I feel offended by that statement, "captain-hood" it's sort of a heritage thing-, -What, so your dad just coronates you and that's it?- Sasha asked back -that sounds odd-, -I know you were going to say something different- the captain stated -but no, it's not a matter of democracy, but of strength. It is a tradition for all the sons and daughters of the current captain to fight for it-, -And you're the one who won?- she replied, -narrowly- he added -I doubt you'd be interested in that story, though-, -does it include gore and explosions?- Sasha asked, -I wouldn't say there were explosions- the captain replied -but there was some violence…-, -TELL ME!- she suddenly yelled, startling all the soldiers, -Nothing to see here folks, keep moving- he stated before turning back to Sasha -ok, next time at least calm down-, -no need to tell me twice- Sasha awkwardly replied -anyway, how did that went down?-, -It's a long story- the captain stated as he started the tale.

The old captain was on his last legs; he no longer could stand upright without being exhausted, and his muscles were in pain every time he moved; his children were right beside him, expecting his last breath anytime soon, but while none of them didn't want him to go, they all knew the moment was drawing near, and that with him gone, the northern tower would need a new captain. -This is no stranger to you three- the old captain stated -but as my life thread thins you three must now fight for power-, -with all due respect father, I do not think we need to resort to violence to gain power- one of his children stated -it's better to use our heads-, -Oh you poor little mega-minded toad- his sister joked on him as he scratched his head -Toads use brawn, not brains. It's what characterizes us!-. -Yeah, she's right- his brother complemented -what do we have to do? Bring you the head of the nastiest beast? Defeat a thousand enemies?-, -You all have to fight for it among yourselves- the captain weakly stated -only the strongest will prevail-, -WHAT?!- all three of them yelled in response, -Calm yourselves down, dammit!- he weakly yelled -you don't need to be alarmed for it-. All three were trying to not pant in panic, their brotherly bond now being at stake for a position all three had wanted for a long time.

-Why do we have to?!- the youngest one asked, -It's tradition, my son- the old captain answered -it's always the strongest who wins the lion's share-. -Well, we don't necessarily have to kill each other to do so, don't we?- he nervously asked, -Of course not- the old captain cleared it up -but the defeated ones will be exiled from this tower, FOREVER!-. All three of them soon were dismissed, and each went to his own room; while the two older toads were flexing to each other, the youngest was falling behind. -Oh, c'mon lil' bro- one of the toads stated as he scratched his head with his fist -I'm sure this whole thing doesn't have to be necessary, it's probably just our father exaggerating-, -Yeah, there's nothing to worry about- his sister added -Dad is a strong toad! He's beaten foes left and right. I doubt a small illness could beat him-, -Yeah, I guess so- he agreed -I guess we could ask him tomorrow for more detail-.

The three toads soon went to sleep, the youngest hoping for a better answer tomorrow, but only a few hours later, the lights of the old captain's room went dark. For the three of them the news hit them hard, and little did they know this marked the start of the breakdown of their brotherly bond. Over the next few days, the two older siblings started to argue with each other, showing off their strength in small quarrels; the youngest one, however, was trying to find a way to avoid such a fate. –Are you seriously still trying to find a loophole?- his sister questioned him –it's only been like three days! It's not like everyone would be desperate for a new captain-, her statement would be proven false as he peeked out of the window to see all the soldiers panicking on the plaza; -Yeah, I don't think they are- he sarcastically stated –but even so, I don't want this to tear us apart-, -Oh c'mon- his brother coaxed him –it's just a small fight, if you make it easy maybe you can just leave without harm done to your face-.

A week later, there was still no leader, the soldiers were beginning to quit, and the third sibling still wanted to find a peaceful way to select a leader, but his older brother had other plans. –TOADS OF THE NORTHERN TOWER!- he yelled –TOMORROW WE THREE WILL FIGHT FOR THE LEADERSHIP OF THIS PLACE AND THE VICTOR WILL LEAD YOU IN THE YEARS TO COME!-, this calmed down the army and even made them cheer up, but for his siblings, this wasn't good news. –I THOUGHT WE AGREED ON DOING THIS ONE MONTH LATER!- his sister rambled –DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT THIS ISN'T WHAT WE ALL THREE AGREED ON!-, -Listen, we're losing our soldiers with every day that passes- he argued –if we don't settle this soon, no one will have an army to command-, B… but… the loophole- his brother tried to argue, but he only received a death stare from both his brother and sister, -If you so desperately want to not fight…- his brother threatened him as he suddenly grabbed him by the neck of his chest plate –then just LEAVE, you weakling-.

The oldest toad let him go and he shamedly walked back to his room, leaving him and her sister to discuss whatever they had planned for tomorrow, -You really had to man him up like that huh?- the female sibling spoke, -He's a weakling- his brother stated -at some point he has to man up-, -Fair enough- his sister replied and left him alone. Seeing the two agree on what his brother stated triggered the younger one; and so, while the two other toads were sleeping, he put a plan to work. –They say I'm a weak one- he stated –I'll teach them-; he then entered the room of his brother's room, took something out of his pocket, and left a letter.

-That's it?- Sasha asked as she finished munching a sandwich of cricket legs -I thought you were going to fight back-, -Oh no, I was the one who called "weakling" to the other toad- the captain replied -but it's only half of the story-, -It better be- Sasha replied -you promised action and so far I'm disappointed-. -You really like warrior tales, don't you?- the captain stated, -Yeah- she replied as she gave another munch to her sandwich -my dad used to tell me that kind of stories-, -Were those experiences or more less invented tales?- the captain asked, but that changed Sasha's face expression; -I'm sorry if that bothered you- the captain apologized, -It's Ok- she lied while trying to avoid revealing some personal information -let's just say they were daily stories-, -I see- the captain concluded, -So, what happened in the end? Sasha asked, -Well…- the captain continued –the next morning I opened the letter and read it-, -Did your sister got one too?- she asked, -Yes- the captain replied –and it said exactly what we both expected-, -And that is…- Sasha continued, -That he was leaving- the captain replied, only to cause Sasha to burst out laughing, scaring everyone in the tavern they were all resting in. –You're telling me that your small brother is truly a COWARD!- she spoke in the middle of her laughter –WHAT A PUSSY!-. –Ok, don't overreact now lieutenant- the captain replied –I know he was a coward but you don't need to laugh that loud-, -Sorry- she apologized –it's just that I went through a circumstance like that a few weeks before I arrived here-, -Really?- the captain asked her -did that creature also fled like a coward?-, -Oh, not just that- she replied -she got HUMILIATED by everyone around me-, -Impressive- the captain stated -would you mind to tell how that happened?-, -I mean, you were still telling your story- Sasha argued -maybe I can tell you about it later, but now, I want to hear the gore that I'm waiting for!-, -Ok, so as I was saying- the captain continued.

The next morning, both siblings woke up to find a letter next to them. -You got this too?- the sister asked the oldest sibling, -Yeah- she replied -and I assume we're going to read the same message-, the two of them opened their letters and read the message in unison

Dear Grimothy & Beatrix

You both made me realize that I am not the kind of toad our father would like to be a leader, I am more of a brainer than a fighter, and as such I will withdraw from tomorrow's fight for power. This does not mean it's over, because I will show you two that violence is not the way of commanding an army, and soon you will see what an army under my command will do to yours

Good luck, you're going to need it

-Was he trying to say goodbye or trying to roast us?- the sister asked, -I'm not sure- the older brother replied -anyway, let's just get ready for the fight-, -Yeah- she stated with a hint of worry -Let's go-.

The two of them soon went into their rooms to put on their battle armor, and after a couple of minutes they were both in the plaza and ready to rumble. -Set the cage! Set the cage!- the soldiers were chanting aloud as a dome-shaped cage was slowly dropped on top of them; this was going to be a close combat fight. -Are you ready to rumble?!- a soldier announced aloud as he turned towards the public from atop the tower, and all the others replied with shouts and chants, -Let the battle COMENCE!- he soon announced, -Good luck Grimsey- the sister taunted her brother -you're going to need it-, her brother didn't reply; instead, he already looked at what angle to strike first. The two toads went for each other in a matter of seconds; the sister lunged at him with a mace in her hands, but he dodged and immediately smacked her off with a hammer; the crowd went wild as he had landed the first blow. -Not bad- she replied -my turn-; with that said, she lunged at him once again, the brother once again dodged, but this time the sister blocked the counterattack with her mace and headbutted his brother, causing him to be stunned long enough for a precise hit on his left cheek. The hit sent him flying into the other side of the cage; he stood back up a bit dazed, but soon he gained his focus again and charged towards her. The sister saw the move in advance and prepared to block, but the brother used his momentum to slide and used his hammer to knock his sister off balance; afterwards, he hit her in the left arm as she tried to stand up and pinned her down, but this only made the soldier atop whistle as a pause signal. -Illegal hit!- the soldier atop the tower announced -Penalty of two hits!-, that wasn't good; -Oh crap- he replied. The penalty was soon put into action as he stood on the other side of the cage and allowed his sister to hit him twice with her weapon of choosing, which in this case was a spiky hammer; the first hit landed on the top of his head, and the next on his chin, launching him up on the sky. -Oof, that must've hurt!- the sister joked as her brother stood up from the fall and spat blood from his mouth, -Oh, it ain't over yet- he stated as he grabbed his hammer and circled around her. Everyone in the crowd was now at the edge of their seats, waiting to see which of the two contenders would make the next move; suddenly, the sister charged, as so did his brother, but half way in the collision course, he stopped, swung around in place, and threw his hammer at her sister; the action happened so fast her sister didn't had time to dodge the hit, and it landed directly on her right cheek, knocking her off balance and making her barrel-roll to his feet. -I told you it wasn't over- he stated as he gently placed his hammer on the top of her head, the battle was over.

-Soldiers of the northern tower- the soldier atop the tower yelled -WE HAVE OUR NEW CAPTAIN!-, the soldiers cheered on as the victorious brother lifted his hammer and opened his arms to them, -You beat me fair and square, brother- her sister stated -no need to worry about me, though-, that statement made the brother turn around to look at the bloody face her sister had from his hit, -I know you're going to man up and say you're sorry- her sister continued -but it'll buff out, don't you worry-. The cage soon got lifted up and the army rushed to raise their new captain among their arms, while three of them took his sister to the infirmary to treat her wounds, -You really showed up strength sir!- one soldier praised him -I'm sure your strength will make us more powerful!-, -Rest assured, little toad- the new captain replied -with me at charge, there will always be success!-. The other toads kept on chanting as they headed inside the tower, and soon, a feast ensued; -Fellow soldiers- one random soldier announced -lets hear some words from our new captain-. The rather nervous new captain was left speechless, as he had no idea of what to say; -C'mon captain!- a soldier encouraged him –give us some words-, -Uhh…- the captain nervously replied before heading to the front stage at the hall. –My fellow toads- he started –we all know that these first weeks are probably going to be clumsy, given I have to find the priorities and needs you'll ask for, but rest assured, I will give you all what you deserve!-; the soldiers stood confused, for once, they had a leader who promises he'd listen to them?. –And also, I will promise you that you will get upgrades on your equipment and more as well!- he added, and that actually made them all cheer. Even in that battle, while the weapons he and his sister used hit hard, they were indeed very, very rusty.

–Well, I guess that will be a start- he concluded –now how about we eat some juicy fire ant heads!-; all the soldiers cheered and sat down to start eating, and soon almost all the toads had had their fill, even to the point of falling asleep from satisfaction. As they all began to go into their rooms, the captain entered his father's room. The things he had left behind gave him a nostalgic attack that nearly made him shed a tear; but before it could happen, someone entered the room as well. –Hi brother- his sister saluted him, -Oh uh, hi Beatrix- he replied in surprise, after all, he did not expect to have company, -Congratulations on becoming the new captain- she continued, -Oh, thanks- he replied –although I'm still sorry about the wound in the cheek-, -Oh stop worrying about it- she complained –I told you it'll buff out-, -I know, but… Now that I won- he continued –doesn't that mean you're exiled?-, -It is true indeed- she replied –but that doesn't mean I can't come in to give my brother a little pat on the head before I go-, -Oh, c'mon!- he replied in laughter as his sister scratched his head, -Well, I must go now- she stated as she let go of him –I wish you luck brother-, -Good luck out there, sister- he replied back and her sister gently shut the door; now, he was all on his own. For once he had never felt so lonesome, but he knew that it was going to be like this for the years to come. He went to check out of the window and saw her sister leaving the entrance to the tower, but not before giving a gaze to the window he was looking out of, and waved her hand at him. With that thought on his head, he sat down on his father's chair and waited for a soldier to bring him news.

-I'm going to be honest- Sasha spoke as the captain finished his tale -that made me shed a tear-, -It is a sorrow ending, I know- the captain replied -but that's how I reached status of leadership, lieutenant-, -And… are your brother and sister ok?- she then asked him, -Well… the last time I asked my sister she said she was trying to fight for leadership on the southern tower-he replied, -Didn't you say that only the sons and daughters of the previous captain can fight for it?- Sasha asked in confusion, -Yes, but the previous captain never found love- the captain replied -and so any strong toad was in with a chance to kill his dynasty and claim the position-, -This may sound odd, and probably out of place even, but, can anyone apply to be ruler of a tower- Sasha asked in interest, -Unfortunately, no- the captain replied -there's a main reason they're called "Toad" towers-, -Fair- Sasha concluded. -Captain!- a soldier suddenly alerted both her and Grime -We found the body-, -Excellent work, Bucky!- the captain congratulated his scout -now, let's start collecting the scraps before he says…-, -There is a problem, however- he added, -And… there it is- said the captain in an annoyed tone -what is it?-. The soldier signaled for him and Sasha to follow, and after a mile or two from the tavern, the soldier pointed at a large, metallic body that resembled a sort of gigantic toad. -Well, the coast seems clear to me- Sasha whispered, but soon all three heard footsteps, and out of the woods, two big robots emerged and began to tear pieces of the mechanical toad apart. -Whoa- Sasha whispered in awe -there's robots in this world?!-, -Those are not what you think lieutenant- the captain -they are vicious aliens from space, and legend says that the gods sent them to annihilate our species-, -Yikes- she replied -that sounds bad-, -We did manage to eradicate most of them, but it looks like a few are still alive- the captain continued. -I feel like we should try and find another Drone body sir- Bucky suggested, -They don't seem like a threat to me- Sasha argued, -That's because they're not after us- the captain replied -but we must be quiet, they do have superior senses to ours, and who knows if they're hearing us-.

Meanwhile, the two robots that were collecting scraps began to chat among themselves. -You think our base is going to need rockets?- Ironhide asked, -Oh don't be stupid, Ironhide- Ironhide replied -we're not going to use these, Sprig says they're for Hop Pop's boat. Although now that you mention it, maybe Ratchet can reprogram these to become canons-, -Now you're thinking, Bee- Ironhide joked. -A boat?- Sasha whispered -why would these giant robots build a boat?-, -No idea, lieutenant- the captain replied. -Well, we better take these back to Wartwood- Ironhide stated -I wonder if that Boonchuy has already finished helping the other rebuild their house-, -Let them take their time- Bee replied -It's not like we could help them with that. We would probably just make it worse-, -What happened to your optimism, Bee?- Ironhide joked as he transformed and carried the pieces via a compartment attachment, -Oh, it's just a thought- Bee stated as he transformed and followed Ironhide; soon enough, Sasha and the toads emerged from their hiding spot, with the captain immediately getting to work. -Well, they're gone for now- the captain stated -time for us to…-, -Follow them- Sasha interrupted, -Lieutenant, I told you that would be madness!- the captain argued -they're dangerous!-. -They have my friend!- Sasha replied -I'm not letting them hurt her with those scraps!-, -Shall I call reinforcements?- Bucky asked, -Not yet- the captain replied, to which it made Sasha angry. -WHY NOT?- she asked angrily, -Listen, we came here to seek parts for weapons- the captain argued -so that's what we're going to do-, -So… do I call the toads?- Bucky asked, -Tell them we need extra hands to secure the body- the captain ordered -and you, Sasha, help me study the Drone body to know what parts to take-.

-It'll be useless- Laserbeak interrupted, startling everyone; -Those robots already got the best parts to make a base of their own- he continued -and what's left is only the exterior-, -Didn't you say our bird was on the base charging?- the captain asked Sasha, who was hesitant to answer. -Well… Uh- she replied as she tried to think of a lie -he's programed with a locator when he's charged-, -And that means…?- the captain asked, -Uh… that means he can locate my position and fly to where I am- Sasha replied, leaving Laserbeak confused, -Hmm… very impressive, yes- the captain acknowledge -well, Sasha's mascot, what do you suggest we do then-. Laserbeak was a bit angry to answer, given he was just called a pet, but soon he replied; -If you want to get part for… upgrades, then seek another drone- Laserbeak suggested -history tells that this valley is filled with those machines-, -Excellent!- the captain stated -Bucky, change of plans, assemble our army and get them ready for a field exploration-, -Yes sir!- Bucky replied as he left the scene and back to the tavern; -Would you mind if I had a word with your lieutenant for a moment?- Laserbeak suddenly asked, -Be sure its quick- the captain replied -I need her for the search-.

Laserbeak took Sasha to the other side of the Drone body and pinned her to the wall, -YOU DARE TO ASSUME I'M YOUR MACHINE?!- Laserbeak angrily stated as he pressed his talons against her shoulder -I'LL TEAR YOU APART!-, -Hey, hey, easy Lasey- Sasha tried to calm him down -I didn't mean it-, -Well, why don't you tell your captain about that?- Laserbeak asked, but Sasha was hesitant to answer. -Oh, did the human lose its tongue to a lie?- Laserbeak joked -Pathetic. Still, I know you don't want to be found out; so… why don't we make a deal?-, -What?- Sasha asked in fear, -You heard me- Laserbeak replied -You said your friend is with them, I want those bots out of commission, and your captain needs parts for… rebelling against the crown, doesn't he?-; Sasha nodded in fear in reply, and did not like where this was going. -Here's my proposal: you help the captain deal with those robots, and I keep my mouth shut about what happened- Laserbeak proposed -Deal?-, -Deal- Sasha agreed -but-, -But what?- Laserbeak asked, -I may fear you, but if you hurt my friend…-, -I won't- he stated -but I will too, if you break the deal-.

The two of them soon returned to the captain and Sasha proposed an idea, -Taking those things on with what we get from a Drone?- the captain asked, surprised by this proposition, -I have a bit of knowledge of where I can guide you to a Drone- Laserbeak added -so there will be parts for the taking, and thus, get weaponry to destroy those robots-. -I see- the captain concluded -and by any chance you know where to find another Drone?-, Laserbeak soon flew into what was left of the head and brought back a small chip, -My absence was because of this, in case you ask- he sarcastically stated -this is a Drone connectivity chip, a part of the Drone's head that links itself into a network and communicate with other Drones-, -Hmm, so with this we may find the location of another drone?- the captain concluded, -You're correct my slimy friend- Laserbeak affirmed -I can read its signal and locate where the closest drone is, so that part is covered-, -Excellent- the captain cheered him -we shall move forward then-. -Captain!- Bucky called as he came back -our army is on its way-, -Good- he replied -lets go meet them half way. Come lieutenant-

-Right behind you- she obeyed.
