The chapter is finally here! This one took a while due to school and life, but I did it. We continue off from where we were last time, and this will be the shortest temple episode, as the second half will focus on the aftermath of the last chapter. However, this chapter will also impact Molly and Deema's relationship, and not in a good way, revealing some backstory about one of them.
This chapter also marks the end of the first part of this story, as the second part will see them traveling to farther places and more information will occur. I hope you enjoy this chapter!
Chapter 14: Trials and Tricks
The group had split up to complete two goals. Molly and Deema were on their way to Thunder Mountain to go to the temple atop it, while the others returned to BlizzardTucky to help Oona, whose tail was partially sliced off after a battle with one of the Sizzling Six.
The girls climbed up the mountain, even in harsh conditions, seeing all the statues and nature the others saw when they went to get ingredients to save Deema. They were still climbing the mountain, and it was awfully quiet.
"Molly, can I ask you something?" Deema said to her.
"What is it, Deema?" Molly said.
"Are you still feeling well after the second temple? You haven't spoken much since we left, and I'm starting to get worried about you," Deema asked her.
"[sighs] I'm fine Deema, it's just that seeing that happen to Oona in front of me, I felt like I wasn't strong enough to protect her, and I don't know how to feel about that. I feel like I betrayed her," Molly explained to her.
"Well that's in the past now Molly, I'm sure things will be different this time, especially since you have me now," Deema jokingly said to her, but Molly didn't laugh at it.
"Deema, this is serious. Can you promise me you won't goof up or anything?" Molly asked her seriously.
"I can't promise that Molly, but I'll try," she replied.
The two girls eventually reached the near top of the mountain, where they arrived at the temple. They saw that it was just like how Gil and Goby described it was, and it even had the lightning bolt at the top. The girls walked up the stairs to the entrance of the temple, and Molly opened the door. But before they entered, Deema was looking away from Molly, like she was unhappy about something.
"Something wrong Deema?" Molly asked her.
"Uh-I-No, nothings wrong. Let's just go inside already," Deema nervously said. Molly was concerned about her friend, but just shrugged her shoulders as they entered the temple, not knowing it would change the both of them.
As they entered the temple, they saw it wasn't like the first two, as it was all just a large empty room with the door on the other side. What they didn't know was that this room held a much larger secret.
"This is the first trial? It's just an empty room" Deema points out.
"I don't know Deema, this could be some kind of trick," Molly said. "There has to be something around here that could give us a hint," she says.
"Don't be ridiculous Molly, they're probably just giving us a headstart or something-OOF!" Deema said before walking into an invisible wall.
"What the? What did I just walk into?" She questions. She tries again multiple times, and keeps walking into the wall.
"Deema stop! It's an invisible wall," Molly tells her.
"I knew that," she jokingly said. "Let's just go either left or right. You go left, I'll go right," Deema told Molly. But when they started walking, they both bumped into a wall.
"Well that plan didn't work out so well," Deema said.
"Now what do we do? There's no way to get to the other side," Molly wondered. As Molly was talking to herself, Deema was looking around, when she noticed something on the other side of the room. It was a stairway leading to the other side. "(Hmm…if that's there, then maybe there's a way we could get down there…aha!)" she thought to herself when she spotted something.
"Hey Molly! I found something!" Deema shouted.
"Really? What is it Deema?" Molly asked.
"It's a door on the floor! Hey that rhymed. Anyway, we can use this door here, and look, it leads to a maze. We can use this to get to the other side," Deema proposed.
"How can all this be under the mountain? That doesn't make any sense?" Molly questioned it.
"Don't ask questions Molly, let's go!" Deema said as she jumped in.
"Deema!" Molly shouted, quickly following her.
When the girl got to the bottom, they found themselves in a giant ice maze similar to the second temple, but it was much larger and the walls were higher, so they couldn't see what was on the other side. They looked around the maze for a while, mesmerized by its beauty.
"Well that was fun, let's get going!" Deema happily said before running through the maze.
"Deema! Wait for me!" Molly shouted, running after her. The two girls swam through the maze, encountering lots of dead ends and circling back along the way, but they eventually made it to the other side, where they found the stairs Deema saw earlier. They walked up the stairs to see the door to the next trial.
"See Molly? That was a piece of cake! I'm sure they're all going to be this easy! Molly?" Deema confidently said before noticing Molly wasn't behind her.
"I'm…(pant)...here.." Molly said, exhausted from all the running she had to do.
"Cmon Molly, you gotta be quicker than that if we want to pass this temple," Deema encouraged her.
"Deema, this is a dangerous place. You have to stop goofing around please, this is serious," Molly told her.
"Relax Molly, I'll be fine, I promise you," Deema said, holding her hand. "Now let's move on to trial number two!"
"(sigh) Alright, let's go," Molly tiredly said.
The next room was another long hallway with a door on the other side. The thing about the hallway, however, was that it was filled with booby traps and things that could end them in an instant. They both stared at the long, booby trapped hallway, and were intimidated.
"Oh boy, maybe I was wrong about them being this easy," Deema said.
"Now do you believe me when I said this was serious?" Molly said to her.
"Ok, maybe this is a little serious, but it's still nothing we can't handle," Deema said with confidence.
"Hold on Deema, I suggest we go across this slowly, so we have an idea of when to expect the traps activating and safely-" Molly tried to say but was interrupted by Deema.
"That won't work. We can make it through if we run fast enough," Deema told her
"What? No! That's a crazy and horrible idea! We should really go slow to predict them," Molly said to her.
"They're coming in too fast for us to move slowly Molly. We need to hurry across, it's the only option we have," Deema explains to Molly.
"Deema, I really think you're not list-"
"Too late!" Deema shouted before running across the hallway towards all the traps, which panicked Molly.
"Deema stop!" Molly shouted at her, but to no avail. She sighed and chased after her. Deema agilely makes it across the long corridor, dodging and messing around with the traps. She jokes around, sometimes doing dances, almost letting herself get hit, and taking selfies in front of them. She quickly makes her way to the other side.
"Ha! That was easy peasy curly squeezy! Isn't that right Molly?" Deema confidently says, but Molly doesn't respond.
"Molly?" she says again, but with no response. She looks behind her to see Molly struggling to get around the traps, barely dodging them and not having enough time to react. Deema then realizes she's about to be crushed by a pillar.
"Molly, look out above you!" she shouts. Molly looks up and gasps in horror.
"Don't worry, I'm coming!" Deema shouts.
She runs towards Molly, evading the traps in the process. When she reached Molly, she grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the way in time.
"Deema, are you crazy-"
"No time for talking! Hold on tight!" Deema interrupted her. She pulled herself and Molly to the other side in time, miraculously not getting injured or touching a trap a single time. They saw a pillar near the end falling down.
"Get ready to jump!" Deema told her. Molly simply nodded.
"3…2…1…NOW!" she shouted. They both jumped forward, barely making it past the falling pillar, landing on the floor in front of the door to the next area.
"See? I told you we would be fine in the end, right?" Deema jokingly said to Molly, but she wasn't too happy with her.
"What? Is something wrong?" she asked her.
"Yes, there is, in fact, something wrong here, Deema," Molly said to her in a serious tone.
"Woah, chill out Molls, what's wrong?"
"Deema, that was stupidly dangerous, we could've died! If you haven't just ran straight into the traps, things would be much better," Molly explained to her.
"Well, I did, and we're still alive, point proven," Deema said.
"Deema, you can't just run into things like that. Sometimes, you have to think things through before you act, so that you don't get hurt," Molly tells her.
"Well sometimes you have to just let loose and goof off, because that sometimes helps you out more. It's worked for me in the past, and look at me now," Deema tells her. "And besides, I do this for a reason," she quietly said.
"What was that?"
"Nothing! Let's just move on," Deema said.
While the two girls were walking down the hallway, Molly was constantly eyeing Deema, which made her feel uncomfortable, but didn't pay much attention to it. Meanwhile, Deema wasn't feeling happy about something, and a flashback plays.
Flashback
We come to BubbleTucky cemetery, where people of the town are buried after they die. We see Deema standing in front of a grave, putting flowers down in front of the tombstone.
"Why did this have to happen to me?! If only I was quick enough, I could've saved you! I should've been me! Not you!" she shouts. She starts to tear up.
"I miss you man, please…(sniff)...please come back, I need you," she desperately said.
"Deema…" A voice said.
"Huh?! Who said that?" she said, looking around to see who called her.
"Deema…"
"Deema!" Molly shouted.
"Huh?! I'm awake and ready for school!" Deema shouted and started to run, but Molly stopped her.
"Deema, it's only me, Molly," Molly told her.
"Oh…hehe…it's just you. Must've been daydreaming again," Deema said before noticing a giant door.
"What is that thing?" Deema asked.
"It seems to be some kind of door, but I couldn't find a way to open it," Molly told her. Deema then notices a sign near it.
"Hey look, some kind of sign," she says, pointing to it.
"What does it say?"
"It says "You have 5 minutes to find a way to open this door, otherwise you will be kicked out of the temple"," Deema read it out loud. A large timer appeared above them, and started to count down.
"Cmon, we have to find a way to open the door!" Molly told Deema. They both started to look around to find some way to open it.
2 minutes passed, and the girls were still searching for something to open the door with.
"Find anything?" Deema asked Molly.
"No. You?" she asked back.
"I got nothing. Say, try using your ice powers to make a key or something," Deema suggested to her. Molly used her powers on the wall, but nothing happened. She tried an ice beam, but nothing happened either.
"It's not working Deema! And we only have 2 minutes left!" Molly told her.
"Alright that's it!" Deema said. She swam up to the door and pounded it with her fist.
"Hey, listen to me door! You better open up for us right now!" Deema yelled at it, but with no avail. "Don't you ignore me buddy! Open up!"
"Deema what are you doing? This is serious, that won't work!" Molly shouts to her.
"You don't know that. Maybe it will work," Deema said to her.
"Open sesame! Abra-kadabra! Hocus pocus open dooropus!" Deema shouted, but nothing worked.
"Deema you have to stop goofing off! That won't work!" Molly yelled at her.
"Have some confidence Molly! We still have plenty of time left-" Deema said before she was interrupted by a loud beeping noise. They looked up to see the timer at zero. Molly gasped in horror.
"Well that can't be good," Deema says.
The floor underneath them opens up and they fall down onto a slide, which they ride on for a while. Outside the temple, a doorway opens up, and Molly and Deema get launched out the other side, face planting into the snow.
"Hey! How dare you throw us out for failing some stupid, and practically impossible challenge! There was no way to complete it!" Deema shouted, but the doorway closed.
"Hey this isn't all….that bad Molly. Maybe we can have another chance, right? Molly?" Deema conformated her.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT DEEMA!" Molly snapped at her.
"My fault?! How is this my fault?!" Deema asked her.
"You kept goofing around when I told you not to, and you almost got us killed on multiple occasions. I just…can't take it anymore! You didn't even care that we almost died!" Molly said to her in an angry tone.
"I was just being myself Molly! Why can't you realize that?" Deema told her.
"Because this isn't the time to be yourself Deema. You have to realize that goofing off and being crazy will only get you killed! Why can't YOU realize that?!" Molly said.
"Because that's the only thing keeping me going in life, Molly! That, and my family!" Deema said.
"Well now our families are going to die because of you!" Molly yelled at her.
Deema just stood there quietly after Molly said that, not moving or saying anything. Molly gets confused at first.
"Deema? Did you even hear me? Hello?" Molly tries to get her attention, but she doesn't respond.
Molly then walks towards her slowly, trying to see if she's okay. What she doesn't know is that Deema is feeling a huge amount of anger and hatred right now, and she clenches her fist, and when Molly gets close enough…
*Punch*
"AGH!" Molly screamed, falling down. Deema had just punched Molly, her own friend. She punched her in the face so hard her nose started to bleed.
"You…punched me," Molly said in shock before she saw Deema in tears.
"Honestly Molly…(sniff)...you deserve it. THIS IS ALL YOU FAULT!" Deema screamed at her.
Molly didn't know what to say to her.
"Ever since the monster incident, you've been way too overprotective of us, and I get you don't want us to get hurt, but you've been taking it way too far! You never let us be ourselves, you never let us get involved, and you never let us help you, and frankly, I'm done with it! You'll never understand what it's like to lose someone close, and I..I…I HATE YOU!" Deema yelled to her before running away.
"Deema wait I…oh forget it," Molly said, stopping herself. She wiped her nose and sat on a rock.
"Whatever Deema, it's your fault this happened. If you would realize what you did…you would…realize the…truth," Molly said to herself before realizing it.
"Oh who am I kidding, this is my fault," Molly said, tearing up. "What kind of friend am I? I just made my best friend punch me in the face. Maybe I was being a bit too overprotective. I need to go and find her now!" Molly said.
"That won't be happening little girl" someone said from behind her.
"What the? Who are-AHH!"
Deema was sitting by a rocky cliff on the mountain, watching the sky and clouds go by, crying in the process.
"Stupid Molly, (sniff)...who does she think she is?" she said to herself. "She'll never understand".
Deema looked around for a while before getting up.
"Y'know what? I've lost him, and I'm about to lose the rest of my family, so I might as well go and get a headstart at seeing them again," Deema said. She was about to do the unthinkable when she heard screaming.
"Someone help me please!" Molly screamed from afar. There were explosions and beams firing.
"Molly! I…oh forget it! I'm coming Molly!" Deema shouted, swimming to where she heard Molly scream.
"Let me go now!" Molly shouted.
"And let you ruin the boss's plans? Sorry Molly, but your journey ends here," the woman said.
"Why do you people always have to be at the temples?! Can't you see Pyros is tricking you into doing his bidding?" Molly says to her.
"He promised us great fortune if we helped him. As his greatest assassins, we have to do what he says. Now stop squirming so we can end this quickly!" the lady told her.
"No, please let me go!" Molly begged her.
Deema soon arrived, seeing Molly being held by the assassin, who was about to end her right way. She tried to think of something, when she got an idea.
"Say goodbye Molly"
"Hey lemon hair! Leave her alone!" Deema shouted at her.
"Huh?"
"Deema!" Molly said in relief.
"So, the heartbroken friend decided to come help her. I thought you hated her," the woman mocked Deema.
"I'm putting that aside for now, who are you anyway?" Deema said to her.
"Name's Sally, one of Pyros's assassins. I am the most skilled in durability and senses. If you think you can save your friend here, think twice," Sally explained.
"Oh I'm not here for her, I'm just here to talk about that hair. Yeesh girl, you need a hairdo pronto, looks like a pale lemon to me," Deema said to her.
"What? My hair is perfectly fine. It defines who I am. A sour and cold-blooded killer," Sally explained to her.
"Really? Cause it makes you look like a pale and overall blandish person," Deema mocked her.
"Deema, what are you doing?" Molly shouted to her, but Deema gave her a "be quiet" look, which made Molly realize what her plan was, and decided to help out
"Yeah, she's right, that hair really does need a do over," Molly said to her.
"You be quiet girl, or else your head comes off!" Sally threatened her.
"Eh, before you kill me, could you at least show off a circle view of your hair? Would give us a better look at it," Molly asked her.
"Fine, maybe this will change your mind before I end you," Sally said. She turned in a circle way, which gave Deema the opportunity to charge and tail smack her in the face, letting Molly go.
"Gotcha girl, Ha! I honestly thought that wouldn't work," Deema said.
"Thanks, Deema, and I'm sorry about-"
"No time for apologies Molly, we got bigger problems," Deema stopped her. Sally had a double sword out.
"Mess with me huh? Now you've done it!" Sally said in anger.
"You people never seem to give up, do ya?" Deema asked her.
"Enough, Curly, time to end you and your little princess here right now!" Sally shouted.
"Ready Molly?" Deema asked her friend, pulling out smoke bombs.
"You know it," the pink-haired girl said, pulling out her sword. "Let's kick her butt, guppy style," Molly said.
They dueled with Sally. Because Deema didn't have a weapon, she had to stay away from her, only attacking when there's an opening, and Molly had to deal with two swords at once, as well as fire attacks. Luckily, Deema's smoke bombs made it so they were able to sneak attack her multiple times. At one point, Molly knocked off one of her swords, letting Deema catch and wield it.
Now that it was an even fight, both girls attacked their adversary in a sword fight. They both attacked after the other, not letting Sally have a chance to attack back, but she used her flame powers to create a wave of fire, which knocked Deema back, but Molly blocked it with an ice pillar. She then used an Ice beam to hold her back so she could charge her. But when she got close, Sally surprised her and knocked her back with a powerful fireball, knocking her to the ground and her sword away from her.
Deema got up, tired and hurt, saw Molly grabbed by the throat by Sally, and didn't know what to do. She then thought of an idea. She could finally be herself and defeat Sally.
"Time to end this here and now. Any last words?" Sally said to Molly.
"You've certainly come to the right place!"
"What the? Who said that!" Sally shouted, looking around.
When she turned back around, she saw Deema right in front of her.
"Heya!" she said, and dodged a fireball.
"Missed me!"
"Too slow!"
*blows raspberry*
"Enough!" Sally shouted, tossing Molly aside. She went for Deema, but she rolled out of the way, while getting up and juggling snowballs.
"Pretty neat huh? I've been practicing," Deema said before throwing them at her, but she blocked them. But then Deema disappeared again.
"Come back out and fight blonde!" Sally shouted. Deema then tail smacked her hard in the face.
"You want a fight? Fine, I'll fight my way!" Deema told her. She dodged and moved around while also goofing around a lot. She did funny dances, poses, and took a selfie too, while also landing hits on Sally, who couldn't seem to get a good hit on her.
"How are you dodging this?! This makes no sense!" She yelled.
"Lady, I make no sense at all!" Deema said while laughing. Sally then threw a fireball at her, but Deema had a plan. She picked up a snowball, and used it as a shield, and when she blocked it, she acted like it hit her.
"Ahh! I'm down Molly!" Deema sarcastically said. Luckily, Molly was still knocked down, but she knew Deema was being sarcastic.
Sally came up to Deema, sword in hand, ready to stab her.
"Finally, say goodbye girl with frankly weird looking hair," Sally said to her.
Deema then threw a snowball in her face, making her flinch, and then punched her in the face so hard, it knocked her down. Molly then got up, and rushed to her.
"Deema, that was amazing! I didn't know you could move like that!" Molly complimented her.
"When you want to be an actress, you have to know how to move like that," Deema told her. Molly giggled in response, but then summoned her sword.
"Game over Sally. Now leave this place now!" Molly told her, but Sally knocked her sword away.
"Fine, you win this round. But I'll be back, and I can finally have a proper match Deema!" Sally said before leaving.
"Well I'm glad that's all over. I need to sit down," Deema said. She sat down on a rock near the temple. Molly soon came over.
"Can I sit here?" she asked her. Deema nodded.
"Hey Deema, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier. You were right, I was being overprotective. I just didn't want any of you to get hurt because without my family…you guys are the only family I have left. I'm sorry Deema, I understand if you don't want to forgive me," Molly explained to her.
"You really mean that Molly? After everything I did?"
"Yeah, that's who you are. You're the Drama Queen of the Bubble Guppies. It was wrong of me to stop you from being that," Molly said.
"Thank you Molly…but…I don't think I can forgive you just yet. That hurt me hard, and I can't forget that. Although I am sorry I punched you," Deema told her.
"It's fine, I deserved it," Molly said. They both laughed. It was silent for a few seconds before Molly decided to ask Deema something.
"Hey Deema, you've been acting strange ever since we got to the mountain, and you looked at your phone earlier and were daydreaming as well. Did something happen today?" Molly asked her. Deema tried to avoid an answer, but gave up.
"Oh alright. I don't..tell people this because it happened a long time ago, and…totally doesn't matter to me, but…" Deema says, handing Molly her phone.
"Today is the anniversary of my twin brother passing away. That's not an excuse for what I did by the way, I just-" Deema stopped to see Molly, looking at her, horrified and shocked. "...didn't want to bring it up."
"How did…how did he die?" Molly asked her.
"(sigh)...It all started a long time ago..
*Flashback*
We come to a Deema from a long time ago playing with a boy who looked similar to her in many ways, both physical and personality wise.
"(Me and my twin brother Dennis were like partners in crime. We are inseparable from birth, even if he was 3 minutes older than me.)"
"(We did everything together. We played together, we slept together in bunk beds, and we even had fights with each other. We were unstoppable, like two detectives from that one movie I forgot the name of.)"
A montage plays showing Deema and Dennis doing many things together, like fighting, playing catch or tag, or simply hanging out with each other.
Present
"But…then what happened?" Molly asked her friend.
"Then…that day happened," Deema said with sadness.
Flashback
Deema and Dennis were playing catch in their front yard. Deema was catching, while Dennis was throwing. They were playing in the street, not knowing the tragedy that would unfold soon.
"Catch Deema!" Dennis said, throwing the ball into the air.
"I got it! I got it!" Deema shouted, jumping into the air to catch the ball, only to fall to the ground.
"I don't got it," she said in defeat. They both laughed.
Unknowing to them, a car was approaching them at high speeds. Dennis quickly notices the car speeding towards Deema, who was unaware of it. He knew what he had to do.
"Deema look out!" Dennis shouted, swimming towards her.
"Huh-OOF!" Deema said as she was shoved by her brother onto the yard. She then watched as Dennis was hit by the speeding car.
"DENNIS!" Deema screamed.
Present Day
"I watched as it hit him head on. He died later that day, and I felt useless that day. I..(sniff)..couldn't sleep for the next few days," Deema said to Molly, starting to tear up.
"Oh my cod…I had no idea that happened to you. Now I feel even worse. But there's still one thing bugging me. Why didn't you tell any of us?"
"Because I didn't want to remember it. In fact, the only other person I told besides my family…was Mr. Grouper. I told him to not tell you guys ever because I didn't want to think about it ever again, and he promised me that," Deema explained.
"Ever since, I've been using my funniness to hide my guilt and sadness…but now you know, and you'll probably tell the others soon," Deema said, hiding her face.
"No, I won't Deema," Molly said.
"H..Huh?"
"I now realize how much this means to you, and telling the others would ruin it for you. So you tell them when you're ready. I promise I won't tell them," Molly told her, hugging her too. Deema hugged back, crying now.
"Thank you Molly," Deema thanked her.
"You're welcome Deema, but we've got a bigger problem now. How can we get the scroll inside the temple if we can't enter it now?" Molly asked her.
"I think we should use the back entrance, if there is one of course," Deema suggested.
"I don't think there's a back entrance Deema," Molly told her.
"You're questioning that after all this?"
"Fair point. Let's go check.
The two head to the back of the temple, and find out that there is, in fact, a back door. Both were shocked, but entered the room to find the scroll.
"We got it Molly! I told you so!" Deema excitedly said.
"I'll be danged. High-five!" Molly said. The two girls high five each other and are about to leave, when Deema finds something.
"Hey, what's this?" Deema asks her.
"It seems to be some kind of metalish item. Probably not important," Molly suggests.
"Imma take it anyway, it looks cool," Deema said, grabbing the item.
"Let's get back to town, the others are probably waiting for us!" Molly said. They both left the temple to return back to the town.
Meanwhile, in the hospital in BlizzardTucky, the others were entering a room, where Oona was being checked on after her fight with Eliza.
"How is she doctor?" Zooli asked the doctor.
"It's worse than I thought. Part of her tail was cut clean off, and the wounds have made it unable to repair with regular surgery," the doctor told them.
"What does that mean?" Gil wondered.
"It means she'll have to use a wheelchair for the rest of her life, and be unable to swim forever," he said.
"What?!"
"There has to be at least something you can do!" Goby said to him.
"I'm afraid there is nothing I can do…now," the doctor said.
"Now?"
"Well, I could give her a robotic tail that I've been developing, but I need a special metal only found on Thunder Mountain to create, and I've run out of it. So without that, I can't create it," he explained.
"Say, weren't Molly and Deema heading there now?" Gil said.
"Yeah they were. I wonder how they're doing…" Cryo wondered. The door then opened, and they turned around to see Deema and Molly.
"We're back!" Deema shouted.
"Hey guys, we did it!"
"Molly, Deema!" they all shouted in relief.
"You would not believe the trouble we had to go through. We almost thought we failed, but it turns out there was a back entrance," Deema explained what they went through at the temple.
"Well the important thing is you got the scroll here," Cryo congratulated them.
"Oh my! Oona!" Molly shouted.
"Oh that's right! How is she?"
"The doctor said he's not able to fix her tail, and that she'll have to be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life," Nonny told them.
"What?!" they both shouted in shock.
"Unless someone has a metal that could be found on the mountain you two were on, then he could give her a robotic tail," he continued. Deema looked at the metal she found.
"Excuse me sir, is this what you're looking for?" Deema asked him, handing over the metal.
"Hmm…oh my! This is exactly what I'm looking for!" the doctor shouted.
"Huh?!" they all said.
"Thank you Deema. With this, Oona can have a robotic tail now,"
"And you said it wasn't important Molly," Deema jokingly mocked Molly. She blushed and giggled.
"I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Leonard, although you can call me Leon," Leon introduced himself. "If you can give me a day or two, she'll be good as new!"
"Thank you Mr. Leonard," they all thanked him and left.
A few days pass, and the guppies are all rested up and ready to move on, but they stop by Glacia and Lady Snowa's place, where Leonard delivered Oona to.
"Hello?" Deema called out for them.
"Anybody home?" Zooli said.
"Over here dears," Snowa called to them.
They all swam over to see Glacia and Snowa with Oona, who was trying to stand with her new robotic tail, which was painted just like her regular tail, but with star sparkles, cause she got to choose.
"Oona!" They all greeted her.
"Hi guys! How do you like my new tail?" Oona asked them.
"It looks great on you! I love the star sparkles you gave it," Deema told her.
Oona giggles. "Thanks, I'm just glad I don't have to feel all that pain now," Oona said.
"The important thing is that you're okay now, Oona," Molly told her.
"Aw, thanks Molly-woa-woah!" Oona said while almost falling.
"Careful dear, you don't want to hurt yourself," Snowa told her.
"I know Lady Snowa," Oona replied.
"Any update on the next temple location?" Cryo asked them.
"Why yes, we do in fact. It is located in Breezy Bay, which is near the end of the land, by a very cold ocean with a coastal town," Snowa informed them.
"A friend of mine who lives there has informed me about the theme of the temple. According to her, it seems to be based on intelligence," Glacia told them all.
"Intelligence, huh? Well I guess we all know who that could mean," Deema said. They all looked at Nonny, who blushed in embarrassment.
"M..Me?" he nervously asked.
"Don't worry, Nonners, you'll be fine there," Deema told him.
"Yeah, it's actually pretty fun having to think of ways to solve those trials," Goby said. Oona nodded her head.
"And you'll have me as back-up, so you'll be safe too," Molly told him.
"Um, guys, can I say something?" Oona said out loud.
"What is it Oona?"
"I was wondering if I could stay behind on this one? I want to get used to my new tail, and I think staying here is the best way to do that," Oona suggested.
"Of course Oona, if you want to, that's perfectly fine," Molly told her.
"Well if that's the case, then two of you will have to stay with her, just to make sure she gets around alright," Snowa told him.
"I'll stay, today was a stressful day for me, and I need to relax," Deema said.
"(sigh) I guess I'll stay here too, but only to make sure you don't mess up anything," Goby said.
"Hey!" Deema annoyingly said. Everyone laughed.
"You five better get going. It's not a long way to Breezy Bay, but you'll have to go through some tough caverns to get there," Glacia told them.
"She's right, there's also a big storm coming, so we wouldn't want to get stuck out there," Cryo told them.
"Well we better get going everyone!" Gil said.
"Bye guys!" The three guppies waved to them.
"Good luck you guys!" Glacia and Snowa said to them.
"See you soon guys!"
"We'll be back!"
And so the five of them started making their way to Breezy Bay, home of the fourth temple, where the pair will be Molly and Nonny. Little do they know, someone is aware of this already, and we see an unknown figure smile and jump in their direction.
Authors Notes
Well, after weeks of procrastination and school (and also storms), I finally finished this chapter, and man was it a hard one to write, mostly because Deema is a hard character to think of serious moments for, due to her silly personality. But I pulled through and even gave her a backstory too! Oh, and that sequence of Deema telling Molly about her past may or may not have been inspired by a scene from The Owl House. Now for the reviews:
PrimroseRaspberry: It truly was very tense and dangerous for the both of them. Luckily, Oona survives. Her teaching Molly some valuable lessons was a reference to her being Japanese, and the training she went through. Think of it as her training Molly herself ;), truly a sweet person.
ReaderandWriter9000: Hello again friend! I'm glad you enjoyed that temple episode, as well as some karma XD. Oona getting slashed was to show that these guys weren't messing around, and that they will do anything to stop them. It is a shocker I brought Mr. Grouper back, and he may or may not play a role in a future chapter. Nonny being next is a scarer, but he'll make it out in the end.
That's it for now. No post chapter today, I'm tired and want to finish this, but I promise there will be one next chapter. Goodnight, and I'll see you next chapter!
