Well then, read on and enjoy! Ch. 3: Hidzuke no junbi
Ortigia Academy of Magic.
The scene shifts at the dormitory area, and then towards Alto's dorm unit where he is rummaging at the closet as he is checking for clothes that he is planning to wear for the upcoming family ball as he reluctantly accepted Elena's request to be her date, and he wondered how and why he ended up accepting even though Chris and Alan of the student council were stealthily trying to pressure him.
Moreover, Vermeil joined in as she wanted to attend the family ball as Alan said that she can go there given that she is Alto's familiar and that she can eat as much fancy food as she wants, and she too incurred Elena's wrath, and now she saw her master sighing as he finds out that the clothes he has won't make the cut and he may have to buy new ones.
"Geez…this won't do…"
"What's wrong, Alto?"
"The clothes I have aren't suited for the upcoming date…"
"You think so?"
"Yeah…"
"Hmm..."
"…"
"What should I do…?"
"Well…"
Suddenly, Lilia and Marx came to visit their friend and blinked their eyes at seeing Alto rummaging his closet, and as they asked him what is he doing, Vermeil told the two, surprising them as they never thought of a scenario where Alto would act as the student council president's date, as they all know that Elena has very high standards and that no other boys gathered the courage to ask her out on a date.
Lilia shook Alto by his collar and demanded to know if Vermeil is telling the truth, which he couldn't gave a coherent response as he is being shook rather violently as she is in a state of disbelief at hearing about Alto being Elena's date, something that she finds it very impossible for something like this to happen all of the sudden.
"Alto! Is that true?"
"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"
"You're the student council president's date?"
"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"
"How did this happened?"
"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"
"Tell me!"
"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"
Marx calmed Lilia down and asked Alto what really happened, and there Alto reluctantly told his two friends about the situation, and both Lilia and Marx couldn't believe what they are hearing, as this is a rare moment where the student council president would seek help from someone, though Vermeil reminded the two that Alto is now a member of the student council.
Alto also explained that Shinouji was willing to assist Elena but he too has a similar situation while Alan claims that OUTSIDE FACTORS made him unable to help, while both Chris and Jessica are girls, hence the female members of the student council asked him for help, and he ended up accepting Elena's request.
Lilia and Marx stared in surprise and commented that Alto is rather lucky as he would get to help Elena as she is so charismatic and beautiful, and that Alto would get to set foot at the Kimberlight family gathering, and they told Alto that they are going to help him choose the right attire for the upcoming event.
"Okay! It's decided!"
"We'll help, Alto!"
"R-really?"
"Yup!"
"You can count on us!"
"Guys…"
"If you need help…ask us…"
"And we'll be here…"
"Th-thanks…"
Alto was moved by his friends' willingness to help, and the trio, along with Vermeil, leave the dorm as Lilia and Marx are taking Alto to the financial district to look for formal attire so that their friend would have something to wear at the upcoming family ball that the Kimberlight family would host this coming weekend.

At her dorm unit, Elena is also busy as she is rummaging her cabinet as she is choosing which attire she would wear at the upcoming family ball, and while she is calm and collected, she seemed to be mentally preoccupied as she wondered what to expect at the upcoming family ball.
She wondered why her grandmother came up with a decree that female teenagers should bring a date as Elena felt that it is unnecessary, and wondered what would her situation would be like had Leonard not inform her about it, and this led her to reluctantly asking Alto to act as her date for the upcoming family ball.
By then Chris and Jessica came and asked the student council president if she is sure about attending the family ball as well as bringing Alto along, believing that Elena can skip the upcoming event if she chooses to do so, though Elena said that she would still attend as it is a traditional event within the family.
"Huh? Really?"
"Are you sure about this, president?"
"Yes. As much as I disagree…it is still a family matter. I will attend regardless…"
"Whoa…"
"President…"
"Its fine. Do not worry."
"Fine."
"Okay."
"…"
Jessica began to wonder if there is something going on, as she sensed that something is amiss as she finds it suspicious that the Kimberlight matriarch would come up with something like every female family member bring a date along, as she felt that something like this is unnecessary.
Chris joked that perhaps the Kimberlight matriarch wanted to see her granddaughters having boyfriends before passing away, which Elena sighed and reiterated that it is something she finds it unlikely and believed that there is probably another ulterior motive behind this stipulation.
"Chris! How can you think that?"
"What? I'm just…"
"Its fine, Jessica. As for what Chris said…it's unlikely."
"Oh?"
" Really?"
"Yes. I don't think my grandmother would come up with something this zany."
"…"
"…"
As the two girls debated, Jessica glanced at Elena's bed and saw the dress that the student council president brought out, and after glancing at it, she finds herself marveling at the appearance and commented that Elena seemed to be going all-out, though Elena insisted that she is not doing something overly flashy or anything out of the ordinary.
"Wow…"
"…"
"President…"
"…"
"Its…gorgeous…are you really…"
"Not really, but I do have to look good…"
"I see…"
"…"
The three girls chatted, which lasted for an hour, and there Chris and Jessica suggested that they would attend the family ball as guests as well, though the former stated that she had a feeling that something unexpected might happen and Elena might need some help IF THAT happen without warning.
Jessica stared suspiciously and accuses Chris of using that statement as an excuse to attend the family ball so she would binge on the buffet, accusing her of being like Vermeil as Alto's familiar would also binge on the food at the upcoming family ball, though Chris sheepishly deny the accusations.
"Hey, hey…"
"So I'm right, huh?"
"Come on…"
"So you admit it…"
"I'm not a glutton like Alto's familiar…"
"You sure?"
"Yup."
"…"
By then they heard voices coming from outside, and as the three female members of the student council peered through the door, they find out the source of the voices, which turn out to be Marx and Lilia, as they were bickering whilst Alto sighing as he told his two schoolmates to keep the noise down as they would attract unwanted attention.
Lilia was complaining that Marx was taking too long in choosing Alto's attire for the upcoming family ball though Marx insisted that it is essential as he wanted Alto to look at his best, and reiterated that he is sure that the student council president would find herself drawn to Alto, which made Lilia stare in disbelief.
"What?"
"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"
"You're saying that the student council president would notice Alto romantically?"
"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"
"Do you have any idea what you're saying?"
"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"
"Tell me!"
"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"
As Alto sighed, Vermeil teased her master, saying that Marx might have a point, as Alto would stand out and might make possible suitors of Elena get jealous and mark Alto as a threat to winning Elena's affection, and tells him to take the initiative and take Elena's FIRST KISS, causing Alto to stare wide-eyed in disbelief.
He tells Vermeil that something like that wouldn't happen as he said that he is out of her league because Elena is the student president and that Elena has high standards, something he could never achieve and stated that Elena is better off with someone on her level, as he is not on par with the likes of Chris or Jessica.
"Really, Alto?"
"Yeah…"
"The student council president is better off with someone of her caliber…I won't match up to her…"
"Why beat yourself up when…"
"Im just a student like everyone else. Elena Kimberlight is the student council president. Her standards are so high that someone as average as me won't…"
"So why not woo her, Alto?"
"I…no, she deserved someone better…"
"…"
Jessica blushed as she is taken aback by Alto's humbleness, Chris smirked as she finds herself impressed, while Elena raised an eyebrow, as she finds herself curious if Alto thinks that he is not good enough, though she had to admit, she do finds herself fascinated with Alto as aside from having an AKUMA as his familiar, he even managed to defeat Chris, taking down and exposing Obsidian and now he is willing to help her in her upcoming family ball by acting as her date.
Elena glanced at Alto as he and his schoolmates left, and there Chris whispered and teases Elena, saying that the student council president has a HIDDEN DESIRE for Alto, causing Elena to blush involuntarily, and this pissed her to a degree and locks the Dragon Rider in the HURT LOCK, causing Chris to shriek out in pain and Jessica became worried and tries to break up the PHYSICAL ARGUMENT between her two fellow student council members.
"AAAIIIIEEE!"
"…"
"President!"
"WWWWAAAHHH! HELP!"
"…"
"President! Calm down!"
"Help! Jessica! The president thinks she's Bobby Lashley!"

A few days have passed, and the time now is 17:00, and there Elena is outside the gates of Ortigia Academy of Magic, dressed in her attire for the family ball, and as she is waiting for her date, Chris and Jessica arrived, and they too are dressed in their formal attire, and the two wondered where Alto is, as the latter is dismayed that he is late, though Chris assured that he is on his way.
By then Alto and Vermeil arrived, and both Chris and Jessica were amazed at the formal attire he is wearing, and Elena took notice, finding herself impressed, and is subconsciously drawn to him, though the two female student council members blinked their eyes at Vermeil's attire.
While she is wearing a formal dress that is decent, her ASSETS seemed to have potential to ATTRACT UNWANTED ATTENTION and this made Jessica worried and asked Elena is this is okay for Alto to bring Vermeil along, which the student council president nodded, saying that most of the Kimberlight family members her age were allowed to bring their familiars, so it is okay for Alto to bring his.
There she told the three that they are now heading to the venue where the Kimberlight family ball would take place and requested that they act courteously and have fun, which Chris, Jessica and Alto nodded in acknowledgement.
"So I ask you to act courteously. Okay?"
"Okay…"
"Okay…"
"Okay…"
"And avoid attracting unwanted attention. Got that?"
"Okay…"
"Okay…"
"Okay…"

Hope you liked this chapter, as after Alto was being PRESSURED to accept the request, he is finding a way on what to wear for the upcoming family ball and his friends ended up helping him…while Chris takes a teasing jab at Elena and ended up PAYING THE PRICE…
