Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Explosive Hearts. Enjoy the 2400-word chapter. I don't own Borderlands; Gearbox and a few others do.
There were groans as the boy slowly dragged himself toward the other end of the wreckage. He felt the shield mod he had slowly started to lean up. The pain at least told the terrified boy he hadn't been able to properly focus.
Well, that and everything seemed to be hurting inside his body, entirely painful. Maybe the afterlife sucked a lot worse than he expected it to… Or maybe he just hated it a lot less.
There were yells and he looked around to see fire and suffering everywhere. Every single person seemed to be either dying or worse… Which made him more scared as he pulled himself up and out of the wreckage.
There was also more yelling out before he slowly started to yank himself that way. What nightmares had brought him here? What had yet to be revealed.
"Hey!" He heard as he turned to see someone sitting on a hunk of wreckage. "Hmm, lot of blown-up stuff… You must be new to Pandora, ain't you?" He heard as he blinked.
Welp, this planet was odder than anything as the pain got to him and the boy slumped down and into the wreckage. It seemed to make her roll her eyes more.
"Yep, new." She said before she leaped into the ship which creaked under her weight. "New if the deck ain't snapped. Huh, wonder who he is…" She said as she looked around.
Tina looked at loads of guns and bombs and grenades. This had been a military ship from the looks of it which meant that he was a soldier or someone who had been the son of one. Welp? Didn't mean a damn thing here, Pandora ripped through soldiers like a grenade through fresh carrion on the planet.
It seemed as if she had a lot more to do, a lot more to see and do before he seemed to be prepared before he questioned what he seemed to question before now.
Tina cracked her fingers, unsure of whatever chaos awaited her or what would be coming. There was a lot more trouble to get into before now and OH did it feel good to be able to cut loose before long?
She had a lot more to question before now. she looked around the wreckage, tapping a bandaged finger against her lips as she did so. Something was off here, a lot more off than it seemed to be prepared for now. She tilted her head to the side, cracking her smile which was almost as terrifying as Pandora herself. This wasn't exactly that hard of a concept for them to grasp.
Then again? She didn't care. The planet was a lot more dangerous than it looked and she knew very little survived in the wastelands in this state. If nobody else got here? Well, they'd all be dead and that would have been it for the time being or worse. Wasn't as if they had some odd way to preserve it.
If only? It made them seem a lot more thrown off than they had been beforehand.
She looked at the boy with a raised eyebrow as she questioned what to do next. She noticed ashy black hair and pale skin with a hooded jacket and military-style pants… The boy was almost a teen or was one and she didn't at all notice. She was no doctor so.
"Hmm…" Tina said before she started to slowly walk forwards.
"Tina? Who's your friend?" She heard as she turned to see Brick who leaped into the wreckage, raising an eyebrow and a rifle as he did so.
"Don't know, he wasn't exploded before now," Tina stated before she frowned as she did so.
She was all too used to death, there was a lot of death anyway here as she watched Brick pick the kid up as if he weighed nothing. It made her unsure of what to do next as he turned back to look at the boy who had been saved from death.
"So, were there more people here, or not?" Tina questioned, dancing from foot to foot as she did so.
Brick hummed, questioning what would be done next.
"Yeah, Lilith is taking care of them." Brick stated before she hummed, rubbing at her temples, slowly starting to pull him out of the wreckage.
She was a lot more focused on whatever came down to it. Tina tapped on her legs while she rolled her eyes, she looked at the boy whom Brick held in her arms and looked around the room.
She smiled, tapping on her arms before she cleared her throat, there was too much smoke here for both to deal with. Tina slowly started to pick around in the trash for any guns or bombs to pick out and drag back home. It'd be a nice little thing before now she hummed.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Brick asked as she slowly started to pull him out of the wreckage. "Are you going to be good, T? Lilith wants you to go find the rest of the stuff," Brick questioned to which she frowned.
He was too prepared for the worst. He knew that there was a lot more to be done and dusted. She had been a weird little kid, he tilted his head before she tapped on her knees, smiling at him while she looked around.
She was too sure of herself before she tilted her head.
Tina slowly started to walk back and forth while she leaned on the wall before now. There was a lot to focus on when it was over with. He had a lot more to focus on when it came down to questions, he seemed preprepared for the worst.
He tilted his head; he was so unsure of what to perhaps question for now.
He looked at Tina who seemed to be dragging the boy slowly out of the wreckage. He sighed and only smiled to himself. there was a lot more to question before now while he tilted his head before now.
He seemed to be perhaps humming if anything. There was a lot more to focus on now before he questioned what to do next before anything. He wasn't so sure, looking over at the child while he questioned what would be happening next.
He had a lot more to question Lilith. He looked around the room, now? He had a lot more to say and a lot more to do and yet? it seemed Tina was all as of before as of looking before looking up and before now and questioned before it ended and looked as of now and seemed to questioned before now.
Yet? it seemed to be all too much for now and yet it'd be ended sometime soon, it'd always be ended more and more, all of it seemed more and more as of now. it'd bother Brick if now for the fact it'd all be too easy to end, too interested to try and intervene.
Problems would exist, they would always exist before now and simply seemed to be the end for now… It all needed to end for now and could be a lot worse for now, yet? all could be ended before now and looked upward and smirked to the side and only managed to look around before yawning as of now, looking to the side before only sighing, bored, interested, and looking upwards, finishing it for now.
"So, is he going to be, ok?" Tina questioned before a gleam seemed to appear in her eyes. "Oh, maybe we can play Bunkers and Badasses! Sweet, I already have a lot of different ideas." Tina stated before he seemed to be tilting.
"There's a lot more to think about, Tina," Tina stated to which she hummed.
She looked at her friend or new friend. Perhaps it was going to be something to handle before now. This was going to be fun, very, very fun.
If anything, else? He wasn't going over the moon yet, but he would probably be alone then, he was too unsure of their current path, too unbelieving of another crashing ship. Brick only rolled his eyes, unsure if Lilith would allow more residents than they had to focus on what to question before now.
He seemed to question what would be coming this way. He tilted himself, perhaps for a second. He was too prepared for the best.
"Maybe, but he needs to heal, he doesn't feel much of anything when it was all over, I want you to know that, T." Brick stated to which Tina said nothing.
Well, she was focused before now on what to properly know. He rubbed at her temples while she seemed to question what to handle for now. She was perhaps the best when it came to their move.
Lilith was a weird woman, it made him smile to himself before now what to do. She always managed to get the job done, and handle everything. She had taken leadership properly if anything. He smiled to know that she was a lot more to this move.
He seemed to be so peaceful, unsure what to properly say to her, perhaps unsure what to do if she argued.
She was a weird child just to do things with, he wanted to say something, but he didn't want to properly say anything, bother him. Well? This made him smile as he tilted his head, making her laugh as she realized what to do next.
There was something to be questioned for the best when it seemed to be over for the time. Such a thing as of now. He had a lot more to question as of now.
Tina poked at the boy who seemed only a little bit older than her. It was cool, really cool for now, she was too unsure of what to do next, and he was too unsure of what to do next.
He wasn't sure of what to do next before now. He wasn't prepared, for now, he was able to question more and more. He was too unsure. He was too sure of what to question next.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Tina questioned for now as Brick hummed. "Is he going to be, ok?" Tina questioned before he focused on what to have done next.
She was curious, thrown off entirely by such a thing. This was an odd thing, something she didn't know how to have handled for the time being. He was a lot weirder
Then again? So many things bothered her. So many things, this planet was constantly bringing new things here. This place constantly grew odder and odder things when it came down to it. There was a lot more to question as of now.
This was a lot more to question before it was over… Still? she was a lot more curious and had a lot more to throw over… Such a thing was going to mess with her mind more and more and more did it terrify her…
Such a thing was beyond a cool little nugget. It dug into the sand. It made him laugh, but it was far beyond such a thing when it came down to it.
There was a lot more on the mind, a lot more he was in such a situation… If anything? This just made her laugh and laugh and laugh. She looked at him with an interest, one which she hadn't seemed to have before now, it was clear more than anything they'd have a lot of fun. A LOT of fun with him at her side, it was clear more than anything they could have relaxed and it could have been, it was clear to her that the fun she wanted? She'd not have to wait long.
Brick gently laid the boy down on the metallic hull as he went to go look for more survivors, he didn't at all understand what to have done next and it was clear… Well? If he didn't well… Survive Tina? That was another matter altogether and it was clear she had taken something of an interest in him and it didn't at all seem to wane with the few short seconds, yes, they had more and more to do and it was all too much fun to be had.
He grunted and looked up in time for Tina to poke his nose, making the boy wrinkle it as she laughed.
"Easy, cowboy, wouldn't want you to break yourself before I… Try to, methinks you might want to know what the damn hell is going on… My name's Tina…" Tina said as she poked him in the temple.
It was honestly amusing to see one of the people of pandora in such a state where it should have been. It was her going to push him that had amused her and such… Yes, if anything. She'd take it all down… All it'd take is a few nips and tucks in the right places and she'd know exactly how to have helped.
Then again? She was no doctor and he SURE as hell wasn't going to want her help, not when it came down to it. He sighed to himself, sighing so deeply and so without measure that he wanted to scream into the void. It was clear more or less than their problems were what to have done for now.
She sighed before it came down to it, she knew that as a doctor her first order of business was to make sure he didn't die at all… If that happened? Well, she could kiss any desire to have a friend as he wouldn't want to have to do something like this at the end of the day… Yes, a lot to do…
