Sorry for the wait everyone. I've just started a new job so updates are going to be slower for most of my work. I'm also trying to write comics now so that's another thing taking up the majority of my time. Rest assured though, I have not abandoned these fics and I will make an effort to update them as frequently as I can. But quality will be more important than quantity. I don't know if it's allowed, but if it is I might think about plugging a and donaters can vote on the chapter I should focus on for the month.

To InfernoKnightmare: Ding ding ding ding ding, you win the prize! The prize being the satisfaction of knowing you guessed the inspiration for the title.

To Kixtia: Thank you for that. I hope so too. Like I said, I have several projects going on so it will be slow going.

WIth that, enjoy the story.

The day of the sports festival had finally arrived. Class 1A had been ushered into one of several waiting rooms in the UA stadium. Tekuno had tuned out the excited chatter of his classmates as he worked on upgrading his hover drones to manually hack into computers if necessary, so he was caught off guard when Kaminari shouted-

"TEKUNO!"

Tekuno jumped with a start, dropping his knife and wire. He glared at Kaminari as he picked up his stuff, but motioned for him to continue.

"I said who do you think is gonna win today?" He asked.

"Couldn't say for sure." Tekuno answered, rolling his eyes. "I don't have much on the students outside our class. But, the top contenders from this class would have to be-"

"Midoriya."

Everyone turned to see Todoroki. The normally silent boy was now staring at Midoriya with a look of determination.

"Objectively speaking, it's safe to say that I'm stronger than you." Todoroki started.

"Y- Yeah." Izuku nervously agreed.

"But, you've got All Might in your corner. I'm not gonna pry into it, but I will beat you." Todoroki finished flatly.

"Cool down the intensity there, Half n Half. It's a high school sports festival, not some Shonen rivalry." Tekuno said with a grin.

Before anyone could say anything else, Ida came in and announced, "Everybody get ready. We're about to be called onto the field."

Todoroki scoffed at Tekuno and walked out the door. One by one, the rest of class 1A exited the waiting room. As they made their way to the entrance tunnel, Present Mic's obnoxiously loud voice could be heard.

"THE FIRST GROUP OF CONTESTANTS, YOU KNOW THEM FOR ENDURING A VILLAIN ATTACK, PLEASE WELCOME CLASS 1A!" Present Mic announced.

Tekuno and the rest of his class walked onto the field to wild cheering. Tekuno raised an eyebrow as the other classes were called onto the field to quieter and quieter cheers.

'Guess people don't care for the wild cards.' He thought to himself as he studied the other classes.

"AND NOW, THE INTRODUCTORY SPEECH!" Midnight announced, interrupting Tekuno's inner monologue. "THE FIRST YEAR REPRESENTATIVE IS BAKUGOU KATSUKI!"

As Bakugou walked up to the podium, class A expressed their mixed feelings about this saying, "Oh great, not the hothead.", "Why's he the first year rep?" and "He's gonna say something to make everyone hate us isn't he?".

"He got first place in the entrance exams." Tekuno told his classmates. "That's how this always goes."

"Hero entrance exams." A girl from the 1C group countered, glaring at Tekuno.

Tekuno's brow twitched in annoyance. 'I'm quirkless, you have no excuse.'

"I just want to say; I'm gonna win." Bakugou announced to the crowd.

All the other classes started booing Bakugou and the rest of class A as well. While his classmates complained about Bakugou's piss poor personality, Tekuno struggled to contain his laughter.

'Classic Bakugou.' He thought. 'Piss everyone off and drive the real competitors to do better at the same time. I almost want to actually compete just to beat him.'

"AND NOW, FOR THE FIRST EVENT!" Midnight announced, regaining everyone's attention as the big screen started spinning through the different events. "WHAT WILL IT BE? THE SUSPENSE IS ALMOST TOO MUCH!"

The screen finally settled on the obstacle race.

'Really tempting to stay in.' Tekuno thought sadly. 'This event would be a playground for a third rate hacker.'

"ALL CLASSES WILL PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT!" Midnight explained. "THE TRACK IS FOUR KM AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE STADIUM! I DON'T WANT TO RESTRAIN ANYONE, at least in this game."

"Who's bright idea was it to hire a sex fiend as a high school teacher?" Tekuno whispered to Kaminari.

"Yeah, she takes her hero persona way too far." Kaminari whispered back in agreement.

"SO CONTESTANTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE THEIR QUIRKS! AS LONG AS YOU STAY ON THE TRACK, ANYTHING GOES!" Midnight finished.

Everyone turned to face the starting line as the countdown for the race began. Tekuno looked around at his classmates, each determined to win.

3

'Don't publicize yourself, Tekuno. Make it look good and duck out at one of the obstacles.'

2

Tekuno crouched down into a running position.

1

"BEGIN!" Midnight shouted.

The students all rushed to the gate. Elbows jabbed, toes were stubbed and even a student with a sardine quirk felt claustrophobic. The relatively narrow tunnel was more packed than an American mall on Black Friday. Tekuno felt a sudden chill and looked forward, barely catching a glimpse of Todoroki using his quirk.

'Nice try, Todoroki' Tekuno thought while jumping onto the back of a student in front of him.

"WHAT THE H-" The unknown student started to shout, but they were stunned as they found their feet suddenly being frozen in ice.

Tekuno dropped from the unknown student's back and made his way out of the tunnel. He was going to start looking for an opportunity to drop out of the race when suddenly, an explosion at his back sent him flying forward. He hit the ground hard and tumbled for a bit, before rolling into a kneel. He turned to glare at the culprit.

'You know what? Fuck the cameras. You've had a slice of humility coming for a while Bakugou.'

Tekuno ran towards the first obstacle and almost couldn't contain his laughter. It was the goddamn robots. This was going to be too easy. Sliding his phone out from his pocket, Tekuno activated the same botnet he used against to shut down one of the robots. He then climbed onto said robot and, after finding the maintenance hatch, opened it up and got to work on rewiring the controls to be accessed by his phone.

By the time Tekuno finished setting up, Bakugou and Todoroki were approaching the third obstacle. While digging through the robot's functions, he found a setting for flight mode and activated it.

"OUR CONTESTANTS HAVE FINALLY REACHED THE THIRD OBSTACLE!" Present Mic announced to the crowd. "YOU MIGHT WANT TO SLOW DOWN FOR THIS ONE, BECAUSE YOU'RE WALKING RIGHT INTO A MINEFIELD! DON'T WORRY THOUGH, THEY'RE NOT LETHAL. THEY BARELY DO ANY DAMAGE BUT- WHAT THE HELL?!"

The cameras turned to focus on one of the robots from the first section flying into the third section. Lucky for Tekuno, they didn't pick him up, barely hanging onto the robot. Unlucky for Tekuno, he failed to notice Midoriya beneath him with a pile of mines and a piece of scrap from one of the robots.

BOOM!

Midoriya sent himself flying, knocking Tekuno off his robot in the process. They tumbled down towards the final tunnel to the finish line. Bakugou and Todoroki took notice and tried to outrun them. In a last ditch effort to win, Midoriya slammed his scrap piece down onto a cluster of mines below him. Tekuno grabbed onto Midoriya's leg right as he went flying into the tunnel. This, unfortunately, screwed up their trajectory. They ended up tumbling through the narrow tunnel, taking Todoroki and Bakugou with them. They all flew out of the tunnel, seemingly at once.

"IT'S TOO CLOSE TO CALL!" Present Mic shouted in excitement before turning to Aizawa, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TEACHING THESE KIDS?"

"To not hold back." Aizawa muttered in his usual tired voice.

After the rest of the students finished the race Midnight carefully reviewed the footage. After several minutes she determined that Midoriya had crossed the finish line first, followed by Tekuno, with Todoroki and Bakugou tying for third. Bakugou glared at Tekuno and Midoriya, and when Tekuno smirked back at him, he was ready to kill him.

"WITH THAT OUT OF THE WAY, IT'S TIME FOR THE NEXT EVENT!" Midnight announced as she cracked her whip. The wheel on the big screen spun again and landed on their event. "THE CAVALRY BATTLE! HERE ARE THE RULES: THE PARTICIPANTS WILL FORM TEAMS OF TWO TO FOUR PEOPLE AND EACH PLAYER HAS BEEN ASSIGNED A POINT VALUE BASED ON WHERE THEY ENDED IN THE RACE! THE POINTS ARE ASSIGNED IN IN FIVES STARTING FROM THE BOTTOM AND WORKING THEIR WAY TO THE TOP, FOR EXAMPLE FORTY-SECOND PLACE IS WORTH FIVE POINTS! BUT THE PLAYER IN FIRST PLACE IS WORTH TEN MILLION POINTS!"

Everyone immediately looked at Midoriya, but Tekuno didn't worry about that for the moment. Right now his biggest concern was finding a teammate. He thought he saw a promising student when he heard from behind him.

"You hero course students all think you're hot shit, don't you?"

"What the hell are-" Tekuno started, but suddenly lost control of his mouth.

"Join my team." The mysterious voice told him.

Tekuno didn't want to join the team of someone he didn't know, but he couldn't stop his body from following the source of the voice. He joined two other people, who were too hazy for him to make out, to form a horse and they were mounted by the mysterious voice. Most of the cavalry battle was a blur to Tekuno, but he snapped out of the haze when he was hit by an attack from one of the other teams. It was down to about three minutes, and one glance at the scoreboard told him his team was barely hanging on to fourth place.

"Don't panic, just listen." He said, looking up to see the person who brainwashed him. It was the purple haired kid from the other day. "We're barely hanging on to our winning spot. If we want to win we have to stop attacking the stragglers and go after the top players."

"And how are we supposed to do that?" Purple hair asked.

Tekuno found the first place team on the scoreboard and scanned the arena for them. He found Todoroki's team across the arena, facing off Midoriya's team. His team's composition was a sound one, but with one glaring flaw. They had Ida bringing up the rear for movement, Kaminari on the left and Yaoyorozu on the right. It was a great offensive setup, but the same couldn't be said for their defense, seeing as they were open to an attack from behind. As an added bonus, Kaminari had seemed to have already gone over his limit.

"What quirks do our teammates have?" Tekuno asked purple hair.

"I'm not sure about the 1B student, but I know my classmate's quirk allows her to shoot glue from her fingers." Purple hair answered.

"Alright, let's get behind Todoroki's team and have glue girl clog up Ida's engines." Tekuno explained.

Tekuno and the other carriers made their way around Todoroki's team under Purple hair's command. By the time they were in position, Midoriya had shown up as well and was keeping Todoroki's attention. With nothing stopping them, team Purple hair put their plan into action. Purple hair gave the order to Glue girl and she shot her glue at Ida's engines, hitting their mark as soon as he started revving them up. The plan worked. The glue clogging Ida's engines caused him to burnout, rendering him completely immobile. Purple hair gave the order and the team charged, Midoriya's team doing the same from the opposite side. Todoroki's focus was entirely on Midoriya, completely missing Purple hair grabbing a headband from the large cluster.

Team Purple hair pulled back after pilfering their points, but as they did, Tekuno noticed something odd about Todoroki. As Midoriya was going for a headband, flames burst from Todoroki's arm.

'So you do have a second quirk.' Tekuno thought. 'So why don't you use it?'

BRAAAAAAHHHH!

"TIME'S UP!" Midnight announced as the buzzer went off. "NOW LET'S TALLY UP THOSE POINTS!"

Unfortunately, Purple hair didn't grab the prized ten million point headband, but they still managed to score a nice twenty thousand points, putting them comfortably in third place.

"ALRIGHT EVERYONE, WE'RE GONNA TAKE A BREAK TO PREPARE FOR THE FINAL EVENT! MEANWHILE, THERE WILL BE GAMES FOR THE STUDENTS WHO DIDN'T MAKE THE FINAL CUT TO COMPETE IN!" Present Mic explained. Tekuno turned and saw Purple hair walking out of the stadium.

'I'm not done with you.'

It took some time navigating the halls, but Tekuno managed to catch up with Purple hair. He grabbed the guy by the shoulder and got his attention.

"What the hell is your problem, man?" Tekuno demanded.

The boy turned around with a bored, questioning look on his face.

"Why would you just force me to work for you like that?" Tekuno asked.

"Because unlike you hero course students, I wasn't blessed with a powerful quirk. I have to do anything to get into the hero course now." Purple hair drawled out.

Tekuno glared at him. Not blessed his ass, he had some kind of mind control quirk. Worse than that,

"Let me have the honor of breaking your world view." Tekuno said, grinning innocently at Purple hair. "I'm quirkless."

Purple hair's mouth gaped in shock.

"So things like 'My quirk isn't powerful enough' or 'My quirk isn't useful in this situation' just sound like lazy excuses to me. Think about that for a few hours." Tekuno turned around as he finished.

"Wait! How did you pass the exam?" Purple hair asked.

"That's your job to figure out." Tekuno answered with a cocky smirk on his face. One day people will remember that humans have been the apex predators long before quirks came along.

And that's a wrap. Once again sorry for the long wait. I also have a couple new projects in mind and I would like to hear from my current readers which one they would like to see.

The first one is a crossover between the Yogi Bear movie and Over the Hedge, in which the suburbs that RJ and the gang live in start expanding and they're going to lose their home, so they move to Jellystone Park to live with Yogi and Boo Boo. The second one is a crossover between Fairy Tail and Sam and Max: Freelance Police, in which Sam is a gun dragon slayer and Max is an exceptionally violent exceed. The third one is a crossover between Assassination Classroom and TF2, in which Scout, Engineer, Sniper, and maybe also Miss Pauling join class 3E as students and staff (Mann Co uses deaging technology on Scout and Miss Pauling if she's in it) to try and get the bounty on Korosensei's head, plus get some international contracts and reputation for Mann Co.

Anyway, please review. Reader feedback, positive or negative, is greatly appreciated.
