Dain's POV:

I couldn't believe what had just happened. After Jude walked away, we were escorted toward the throne room.

I'd expected it to be full like before, but when we entered, there wasn't a soul in the room except for the guards of course.

The guards, they were supposed to listen to me, to anything I had to say, any order I had to be done, and obey.

Not ignoring me and certainly not taking orders from one of my spies who was supposed to lay low.

Madoc and Balekin started a conversation. Jude's sisters and some redheaded fae also begin to talk. I walked over to Madoc and Balekin.

"... our plan?!" Balekin was whispering very aggressively at Madoc, who did not answer when he saw my face.

Instead, he made Balekin aware of my presence behind him.

As Balekin turned around I could see him trying to cover up the irritation on his face and settling in on a neutral expression instead.

"what plan?" I asked putting as much authority in my voice as possible.

"It doesn't matter now," Madoc said with a shrug, "what matters right now is to find out what's going on."

Just as the words left Madoc's mouth the doors to the throne room opened.

In came, with their arms intertwined, Cardan and Jude?!
