While enjoying the peace of their own world, the Kuremi Detective Agency received a surprise visit from Arceus. The Legendary Pokemon informs everyone that Ben and Summer went missing while looking for a new Digimon that appeared in the region of Kalos. Kellyn, Kate, Keith, Solana and Lunick all went to search for the two Rangers, but also have disappeared. Worried about their friends, the Cyber Sleuths and their allies prepare to set off and return to the world of Pokemon.

It felt like a week for everyone until the appointed time. The next day at noon they all gathered back in the underground laboratory. "Is everyone here?" Ryuji asked.

"Seems like it." Kyoko replied. "I told Matayoshi what happened. He said he'll keep an eye on Tokyo while we're gone."

"That's good." Ami replied.

"Hey Tak, I hear your mom easily let you and Ami go." Nokia said. "Lucky! Even with Makiko it was hard to get permission from my parents!"

"Mom believes in us and our partners." Takumi replied. "That's all."

Arceus looked at the group. "So, is everyone ready?" Everyone nodded. Acreus transformed into his true form again. "GYUIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!"

"Guryuaaaah!" Another roar was heard before a sharp slash of purple in thin air cut a hole through reality. It stretched out, unleashing a force that threatened to blow the team down. Slowly Palkia emerged from the hole.

Arceus' eyes glowed as it communicated with Palkia. It then turned to the others. "We are ready to depart. Everyone, please gather around Palkia."

The group assembled around Palkia. "Guryuaaaaaaaah!" The Pokemon glowed. A golden light swallowed it and everyone, keeping them in a golden orb.

"Prepare yourselves. We will be traveling through the vast space between dimensions at high speed."

The orb went into the hole in the air and traveled through a bright void. Everyone looked around them. "What is all this?" Fei asked.

"It's an interdimensional tunnel." Kyoko replied.

"This isn't our first time seeing this." Takumi said.

Ami remembered their travels from the Digital World after they defeated the Eaters. "You're right."

A bright light formed ahead of them. "Hey, look!" Nokia gasped.

Their orb entered. "We have arrived."

After a bright flash the team was seen flying over a region. But it wasn't Oblivia. "What's that?" Date asked.

"Welcome to the Almia region. The Ranger Union is located here."

"Almia…this is where we landed when we were sent to look for you guys." Keisuke said.

They flew towards the region and soon a tower came into view. "There it is." Ryuji said. "Ranger Union. This is the second time for me and the boys."

"I heard of it from Rand, but I never got to see it." Takumi replied.

They landed in front of the building and the orb vanished. Palkia howled before disappearing in a gold light. "So…should we go in?" Yuugo asked before glancing at Arceus. "Or should we have the Professor come out here?"

Arceus shifted to his humanoid form. "That will not be necessary. Shall we?"

Keisuke was the first to lead them through the automatic doors. They walked over to the counter where a Ranger stood. "Hello, welcome to Ranger Union. How can we help you?"

"Just the opposite actually." Arata replied. "We're here to help you."

"Pardon?"

"Could you tell Professor Hastings I brought the people he requested?" Arceus asked.

The person at the counter pressed a button. "Sir, I have a bunch of people here. They said you were expecting them?"

"Ah, excellent! Tell them to see us in the briefing room! Hurry, hurry, hurry!"

"Understood."

Yuuko smiled. "He hasn't changed a bit."

"The meeting room is upstairs. Take the escalator and-

"It's okay, we know where it is." Ryuji said. "Follow me." He led them to the next floor.

Inside the waiting room Professor Hastings looked at the monitor on the floor displaying a map of Kalos and profiles of the seven missing Rangers. "I just hope they can do something about this…"

The door opened and the team entered. "Greetings Professor. Sorry to keep you waiting." Kyoko smiled.

"Hey, guys!" Murph waved. "Man am I glad to see you!"

"Hey Murph." Ami smiled.

Takumi looked at who else was in the room. "Rand?!"

The Ranger smiled. "Hey guys, it's been a while, hasn't it?"

"It sure has!" Nokia nodded.

Something stood next to rand. A black bird with a blueish vest. "It's good to see you all again."

"Huh? Wait is that a Digimon?" Date asked.

"Is it the one that suddenly appeared?" Nokia asked.

"No, this guy's been around for a while now." Rand grinned.

Lopmon tilted his head then gasped. "Tokomon!"

"Hi Lopmon!"

"Wait, that's Tokomon?!" Date asked. "The little guy that stuck with Nema?!"

The Falcomon nodded. "Yup! I'm Falcomon now! While I help Nema with research I'm also Rand's partner! Two for one!"

"The little guy Digivolved and helped me save a drowning Mankey back in Oblivia." Rand explained. "It's pretty cool. I'm the first Pokemon Ranger to have a Digimon partner."

"All the more reason for us to call Rand from Oblivia to help with this mission." The Professor explained.

"Will Oblivia be alright without him though?" Yuuko asked.

"No need to worry. We sent a few Rangers to keep an eye on things there while he's gone."

An elderly woman stepped forward. "So, these are our heroes from the other world."

Digimon came out of Digivices. "And I take it these here are those Digimon we were told about." A Ranger with a red cowboy hat said standing next to a Luxray.

A green-haired Ranger with a Staraptor nodded. "Wow. There sure are a lot of them."

"I suppose we should do introductions." Murph said. "Everyone this is Chairperson Erma, head of the Ranger Union. And these are two of our finest Rangers, Sven and Wendy."

"Nice to meet all of you." Wendy smiled. "Summer spoke a lot about you whenever we're practicing flying together."

Professor Hastings cleared his throat. "Everyone, meet Kyoko, her assistants Takumi and Ami, Arata, Nokia, Date, Fei, Yuuko and her brother Yuugo, Keisuke, Ryuji, Chitose, Yu, and Erika." The Professor said pointing at each of them. "Oh? Where's detective Matayoshi?"

"He stayed behind." Chitose replied. "Somebody's got to keep Japan safe and sound while we're out."

"Fair enough. Thank you all for coming."

Keisuke then looked to his left. "Wait a second, Erika?! You're back to your human form!"

The girl sighed. "You just noticed?"

"It's something we were working on!" Wormmon said. "By separating to our individual forms, we can save energy and be in two places at once thanks to our link! Plus, we can hang out like the old days! Erika's still data though, so she can't exist outside of EDEN or a Digital Shift."

"Then this proves that the Digital Shift is still around in this world." Kyoko said.

"We suspect that what Sabios did may very well be permanent." Professor Hastings said. "Of course, that might not necessarily be a bad thing."

"We got all the details on what happened from Arceus." Monodramon explained.

"Good…Where is Arceus, did he leave already?"

"Right here." Terriermon said, pointing at the man in white.

"Th-that's Arceus?!" Wendy gasped. "Wow…nice uh…human disguise sir…"

"I felt it might be best not to alert too many people." The Pokemon in disguise explained.

"We appreciate that." Erma replied. "With so many of our famous Rangers missing, everyone here is rather unsettled."

Rythmi hurried inside. "Professor I-Oh! Keisuke and everyone is here! Thank goodness, we need your help!"

"We heard." Takumi replied. "Don't worry Rythmi, we'll find Ben and the others."

"Please help them. I don't want to imagine something happening to Kellyn, Kate, Keith, and everyone…"

"Are Ukulele Pichu and Summer's Staraptor okay?" Wendy asked.

"Ah! Right! I came to tell you they're fully healed and just regained consciousness!"

"Really? That's great!" Nokia smiled.

"Please send them in." Erma said.

"Right away!" Rythmi ran out.

"Please take them with you." Professor Hastings said. "You all worked with Ben and Summer before and have gone through so much together. I doubt they'll just stay behind."

"Of course." Takumi nodded. "Ben and Summer are their partners. They have every right to take part of the search for them."

Rythmi returned. Staraptor and Ukulele Pichu followed her into the room. "Hey guys, it's been a while!" Ami smiled.

Both Pokemon gasped. "Staraptooooor!" Summer's Pokemon howled, spreading his wings.

"PICHU!" Ukulele Pichu ran a few laps around Takumi and Ami repeating "Pichu! Pichu! Pichu!"

"Good to see you two are alright now." Keisuke said.

Takumi crouched down. "We heard what happened. Are you okay?"

"Pichu!" Pichu stopped in front of him and started jumping and flailing his little arms in a fit of panic. "Pichu, Pichu, Pichu! Pichu Pi, Pi!"

"Whoa, calm down there, little guy." Nokia kneeled next to Takumi and looked at Pichu. "Take a deep breath and tell us slowly what happened to Ben and Summer."

Arata squinted at her. "Nokia."

Pichu sucked in a deep breath. "Pichu." He nodded. "Pi, pi. Pi Pichu. Pichu Pi. Chu, chu! Pipichu! Pichu Pi pi!"

Everyone stared as he continued to speak in his own language doing gestures as he spoke. "Yeah okay, probably should've seen that coming." Nokia chuckled.

"He's saying they went to Kalos with their partners to search for the Digimon reading like the Professor asked." Arceus explained. "They landed in Lumiose City, the biggest city in the region and began their investigation."

"Oh, right. You're a Pokemon as well, so it makes sense you can understand him." Yuugo said. "Pichu, why don't you tell Arceus what happened, and he can translate to the rest of us."

Pichu looked at the man in surprise. "Pi? Pichu?!"

"Yes, it is me little one." The humanoid Pokemon replied. "Come. Tell me what happened." Pichu bounced over to him and started talking. "Mmhm. Yes, I see. …Really? Where? Is that so? Then what happened? What? By who? …Oh my…So that's it…Then the other Rangers that were sent to look for Ben and Summer might have also run into them…Now it makes sense."

"So, what's the story?" Fei asked.

Arceus looked at them with a serious expression. "I fear this situation is more perilous than we imagined."

"Tell us what happened." Date said.

"Shortly after arriving to Kalos, Ben and Summer asked around and came into contact with a young detective operating in Kalos. When they asked her about anything unusual in Kalos, hopping to get clues on the Digimon, she told them that rumors were rising about a powerful Pokemon hiding in a place called Terminus Cave."

"A powerful Pokemon?" Tentomon asked.

"I doubt the people of Kalos would recognize a Digimon." Erika said. "Perhaps they found the Digimon and mistook it for a Pokemon?"

"Maybe. Or it could be something else entirely." Arcues replied. "Either way, Ben and Summer went to Terminus Cave to investigate. As they went deeper, they saw evidence that the cave was recently explored by a large group. But what they found when they reached the deepest part of the cave was no mysterious Pokemon or Digimon."

"What?" Ryuji asked.

"When they reached the end of the trail, they were attacked."

"Attacked? By who?" Ami asked.

"Pichu, come here. I can show them what you saw through your memories."

"Pichu?" Pichu walked next to Arceus who kneeled down and put a hand on his little head. He then stood up.

"GYUIIIIIIIN!" He transformed to his original form and the area was surrounded by light.

"I see something." Murph said. "This is just like that one time at the Sky Fortress!"

"Shh. Let's see what happened." Arata said.

An image appeared before them. Ben and Summer walked into the dark cave with Pichu and Staraptor. They walked towards the deepest area of the cave and saw burn marks, holes, and clawed walls everywhere. "Looks like it was some party." Ben muttered.

"Was this the Pokemon we were told about? Was it attacked?"

"We saw clear signs or a recent entry on the way here." Ben replied. "And clearly a battle took place in here. The question is…who won? The Pokemon? Or the intruders?" Ben then turned around and aimed his Styler. "Who's there?!"

Summer looked behind them. "Huh? Ben, what's wrong?"

"I thought I…heard something."

Pichu's ears perked up. "Pichu!" He looked around.

"You hear it too pal?" Then they heard the sound of something being tossed into the air. A Pokeball burst open and a Houndoom appeared. "What?"

A man with a white and black uniform and a red scarf jumped down. His white helmet had a visor over his eyes. "Houndoom! Attack!"

The Pokemon lunged towards them. "Whoa!" Ben and Summer jumped back. "Pichu!"

Pichu shot bolts at it, but it dodged with incredible agility and rammed it's skull into the little yellow Pokemon. When Staraptor attacked from behind, it kicked its hind legs into him. Pichu wacked it with the ukulele and while it stumbled back, Staraptor hit it with Close Combat. "Tch! You're good." The assailant grumbled. He took out two more Pokeballs. "But let's see how you handle this! Onix! Stunfish! Your turn!"

Summer looked at the summoned Pokemon. "A Rock/Ground and a Electric/Ground? Pichu and Staraptor don't have good odds."

"Plan B then!" Ben launched his Styler and drew a sign. "Go, Guardian Sign! Latios come forth!"

"Go, Guardian Sign! Latias come forth!"

The man gasped as he saw the mythical Pokemon summoned before his eyes. "It's true…they really can summon legendary Pokemon out of thin air!"

"Luster Purge!"

"Mist Ball!" Ben and Summer gave their orders, and both Eon Pokemon took down the enemy's Pokemon in one shot.

"S-strong…" the man murmured. "So, this is the power of legendary Pokemon…if we could obtain this for ourselves…"

"That is enough." Ben and Summer looked up. A man in another strange white uniform and a yellow scarf stood on a cliff above them. His helmet was a slightly different shape from the previous man. "Ben Natsuya. Summer Minami. The Cyber Rangers. You've finally come."

"Who are you?" Summer asked.

"Ha! You don't need to know that. All you need to know is that you are needed for our goals. So, I'm going to give you one chance. Come quietly, and nobody gets hurt."

"Yeah, sorry pal, but we have prior engagements." Ben replied.

"Maybe I didn't make it clear that that was a demand, not a request! You can come willingly, or we'll force you to comply!"

"We?" Ben scoffed. "Look, I know what I'm about to say is kind of a cliché fella, but you and what army?"

The man grinned and snapped his fingers. One by one more people in uniforms identical to them man they just fought stepped forward. Some were men, some were woman. More of them blocked the way Ben and Summer came in. Summer looked around her as they were surrounded. "You had to ask, huh?"

Ben grunted as he looked around. "Well, that's something."

The man with the yellow scarf pointed forward. "Attack! They may be strong, but we vastly outnumber them! I don't care what it takes, we need to subdue the Rangers!"

One by one more Pokeballs flew. Pichu panicked at Pokemon appeared everywhere and he started dodging attacks from all directions while trying his best to get a shot of his own in on them. "Pichu, look out!" Ben yelled.

Pichu turned around as a Machoke's fist went at him. Then everything turned black.

The vision ended. "Oh, no…" Ami murmured.

"Who were those guys?" Arata asked. "They weren't Pinchers, or Team One World grunts…"

"And did you see what they were using?" Yuuko asked. "Some kind of capsules to hold Pokemon in…"

"Those are Pokeballs." Wendy replied. "People called Pokemon Trainers use them in other regions."

Staraptor squawked. Arceus' eyes glowed. "Staraptor said that he was injured after Pichu was knocked out. Summer ordered him to take Pichu and flee. He didn't want to leave her and Ben…but he was afraid."

Both Partner Pokemon looked down in shame. "Hey, don't blame yourselves." Keisuke said. "Those were impossible odds, even for you guys."

"So, you think Kellyn and the others were attacked by the same people?" Rythmi asked.

"It seems likely." Sven replied. "This is bad. We need to hurry over there."

"Agreed." Professor Hastings said. "But let's play this carefully. We don't want to lose all of you as well."

"Arceus mentioned a detective in Kalos." Kyoko said. "If a suspicious group is acting there, maybe she has information we can use."

"Not a bad idea." Ryuji said. "Maybe we should start by paying her a visit. Where did you say she was?"

"In Lumiose City according to Arceus." Erma replied. "It's the largest city in the center of the region."

"If we have our planned location, I say we get going." Rand said. "Every second we waste standing around could put Ben and the others in more danger."

"Agreed." Professor Hastings said. "If all of you can Digivolve your Digimon into forms that can fly, you should be able to depart immediately. Sven, Wendy, and Rand will be joining you."

"Okay." Erika nodded. "We should get going now."

"I shall leave this matter to you." Arceus turned to Professor Hastings. "When it is time to return them to their world, contact me with the Azure Flute."

"You're not coming with us?' Yu asked.

"I have something else I need to attend to…actually, I just had a thought."

"What's up?" Nokia asked.

"Since we last met, I have been training a…apprentice, you may say. Perhaps it is time I tested his growth. Once he finishes his current training, I will send him to help you."

"An apprentice of Arceus?" Terriemron asked. "That sounds amazing!"

"We could use the extra firepower." Alphamon added. "There's no telling where this will take us."

"I should warn you…you may find trusting him…difficult when you meet him."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Yuuko asked. "Can you give us more details?"

"No need. You'll know yourselves once you see him. I cannot force you to believe me, but he is a changed man now. He fights for justice."

"Okay?" Chitose murmured. "Well anyway, thanks for bringing us over. We'll take it from here."

"Very well. I wish all of you the best of luck." Arceus started to glow. "GYUIIIIIIIIIN!" It disappeared in a bright light.

"I have the coordinates." Wendy said. "Let's head out."

MegaGargomon carried Takumi, Sven, Luxray, Arata and Keremon. Alphamon flew with Kyoko, Ami, and Palmon. Wendy was on her Staraptor, Pichu was on Summer's, Hudiemon flew on her own, Keisuke, Ryuji and Monodramon flew on HerculesKabuterimon, Chitose, Yu, and Otamamon flew on Shakkoumon, Yuuko, Guilmon, and Nokia were on Omnimon, Rand, Falcomon, and Fei flew on TigerVespamon, and Yuugo, Hagurumon and Date were on Kerpymon. "We're almost there." Wendy said, looking at her Styler.

"By the way, Alphamon, did Magnamon or the others find out anything about the new Digimon that appeared?" Ami asked.

"Nothing yet." Alphamon replied. "I expect it will take a while."

"Finding out about the Digimon is important." Kyoko said. "However right now, finding the missing Rangers is our top priority."

"Kyoko's right." Ryuji said. "One thing at a time."

Wendy looked down. "There it is! That's Kalos!" Everyone started to descend. "Let's see, Lumiose City should be in the center. According to this map, there should be a big tower around."

"Hey, look at that." Ami pointed at a pointed white tower. "Dosen't that look like the Eiffel Tower?"

"The what?" Rand asked.

"A French landmark back in our world." Yuuko replied.

"That must be the city." Wendy said. "Let's take a closer look."

A lone figure stood on a rooftop with a Espurr. They wore some kind or black armored suit with an orange glass covering their face with a E on it. The Pokemon's ears wiggled. "Murr…"

"Hmm? What's up Mimi?" After they looked at each other, the female looked at the sky. She saw the Digimon fly towards the city. "What are those? I've never seen Pokemon like that before."

"Mrawraw!"

"Huh? "Something else"? You think so?" She watched them land in the distance. "Hmm…I don't like the look of this. First the Rangers, now this happens? Something big is going on in Kalos. And we can't ignore it! Come on, Mimi!" She picked up her Pokemon and jumped across the rooftops with superhuman ability.

Once they all landed, the Digimon went back into their Rookie forms. "Man, this place is huge!" Keisuke gapped.

"We'll have to be careful not to get lost." Guilmon said.

"Actually, I just thought of something…" Sven said. "Guys, you're talking Digimon might cause a panic here. Can you hide them or something while we investigate?"

"Probably for the best." Yuugo replied. "We can store them in our Digivices."

"And I can put Falcomon in my Styler." Rand added.

"What about me?" Wormmon asked as everyone withdrew their Digimon.

"You can stay in my Digivice with Monodramon." Ryuji said.

"Okay." Wormmon replied before being transferred.

"Alright, now that that's settled, let's go over the plan." Kyoko said. "We need to find this detective that Ben and Summer met so we can learn more of the situation."

"This city is for too big to move efficiently in a group." Wendy said. "I see no other option but to split up."

"Agreed." Rand nodded. "Okay, we'll split into groups of three. Hang on…that means one of us goes in a group of just two…"

"Takumi and I will be okay on our own." Ami said. "We're used to working together."

"Okay. I'll search with Sven and Wendy. We'll take Pichu and Staraptor with us. Kyoko, Date, Nokia, you're a team. Fei, you're with the Kamishiro twins. Keisuke, you go with Ryuji and his siter. And Yu and Chitose are with Arata."

"Split up and ask around." Kyoko said. "But don't go out of the city. Let's meet at the Eiffel Tower look-alike in half an hour." Everyone nodded before taking off in teams.

And so, the mission begins. Next week the gang meets a new face.
