While Dis left with her sons, Kagome decided to supervise the dinner arrangements and add some dishes from her and Rin's homeworld. She asked Thorin what Dis's favorite dishes were to have them prepared. Kagome also told Thorin that she would prepare dishes from her homeworld.
Thorin hugged and kissed his One, "You don't need to go through all this trouble, my love; the kitchen staff can handle everything."
Kagome pulled from Thorin and smiled, "I know it isn't, Thorin, but I want to. I want to show your sister that she is as important to me as you are."
Thorin was touched by Kagome's confession and decided that whatever she needed, he would get her to complete her goals. Thorin informed his beloved of all the dishes that Dis enjoyed. Kagome quickly wrote down everything, then pecked Thorin on the lips and eagerly made her towards the kitchens, but not before stopping to pick up Rin so that she could help her prepare the Japanese dishes. Kagome would need to make more than the average amount of food usually served during a Japanese meal to accommodate the appetite of the Dwarves so she would need Rin's help.
The young women arrived in the kitchen, where Bombur began to prepare for that evening's meal. He was surprised to see the future Queen and Princess there, but he smiled and welcomed them.
"Kagome, Rin, what are you doing down here?"
Kagome hugged Bombur, "Well, Thorin gave me a list of the dishes that Princess Dislikes, and Rin and I wanted to help prepare them."
Bombur smiled, "I would be honored to have your and Rin's help with dinner tonight, Kagome."
"Wonderful, Rin and I want to also make some food from our homeworld for Dis."
Bombur nodded and showed the girls a place in the kitchen where they could work. The girls spent several hours cooking the food for dinner with Bombur and the kitchen staff's help, and Bombur was eager to learn how to make the dishes Rin and Kagome were also working on. Once everything was ready, Rin and Kagome left so that they could get prepared for that evening.
While Kagome and Rin were busy in the kitchen, Dis was in her bed chambers, talking with her sons. She wanted to know a little more about the human girls and the Elf maiden that the men in her family were interested in.
Fili and Kili began to tell their mother about Kagome and how she and Thorin did not get along when they first met. Kili told Dis how Kagome knocked Thorin out with her powers. They stared at her son and then burst into a fit of laughter. She laughed so hard tears ran down her face. It took five minutes for Princess Dis to get herself under control.
After wiping her tears, she sighed, "Oh, Mahal, I wish I could have seen that. I'm sure your uncle deserved it. Now tell me of the other two young ladies."
Kili nervously looked at his mother and began telling her about Tauriel and how they met, and that she had saved his life. He said to her that she defied King Thranduil to help him.
This studied her youngest son for a moment, "You love her." She stated.
"Aye, Amad, Tauriel is my One. I love her very much. I hope you do not mind that she is an Elf. Thorin has accepted it."
This This looked at her. This startled them, "He has?"
"Aye, with Kagome's help," Fili added.
"Hmm, it would seem that Kagome is a good influence on your uncle."
"She is, Amad," Fili answered.
"Now, Fili, tell me about Lady Rin."
Fili took a deep breath and told his mother about how they had met. He thought it would be better than his mother hearing about his temporary death from Kagome, and she would be able to explain who Lord Sesshomaru was and what he had done. Dis stared at her son; she knew he was leaving out a great deal, but decided she would wait until that evening to find out what was truly happening. In the meantime, the Princess would freshen up and then rest for that night's meal when she would get the full story from Thorin and the others. She was looking forward to meeting the humans that captured her son's and brother's hearts, along with the Elf maiden.
A few hours later, a maid came to help Princess Dis prepare dinner. Once she was ready, her sons arrived to escort her to Thorin's chambers, where they would have dinner. They entered Thorin's rooms and were greeted by Thorin. Kagome, Rin, Tauriel, and the Company were already present.
Dis smiled and hugged the Company, then politely greeted the young ladies. Refreshments were offered, and they talked for a while until dinner was served. When everyone was seated, the servants did the food. Dis was delighted to see that all her favorite dishes had been made, but she also noticed other types of food she wasn't familiar with. When Dis noticed that the others had served the exotic food, she decided to try it herself.
"I hope you enjoy the dishes Rin and I prepared for you, Princess Dis; we prepared them especially for you from our home world."
Dis stared at the humans in shock, "What do you mean your home world?"
Rin and Kagome looked at each other, then at Thorin, who nodded. Kagome took a deep breath and began to explain how she came to be in Arda and where she was from. As they ate dinner, Kagome and the others relaid the tale of their journey to the mountain and the battle afterward.
By the time the story was over, Dis had sat with her mouth hanging open. She looked at her brother, "Let me see if I understand this, You and my sons died and were brought back to life by this being named Lord Sesshomaru and his sword, but because Kagome is immortal, the gods also gave you immortality, you two will never be parted?" Dis asked.
"Aye, sister," Thorin confirmed.
"That is the most amazing story I have ever heard! So when do we plan the wedding for the three of you? I cannot wait to meet this Lord Sesshomaru and thank him for saving my family."
Thorin looked at his sister, surprised, "You are not upset?"
Dis laughed, "Never! My family is safe and sound, thanks to these women and Kagome's friends. I cannot wait to welcome them into our family officially."
Kagome let out a sigh of relief. She had been so worried that Princess Dis would not accept her and her two friends, but that was not the case. Now that everything was settled, it was time to plan the Royal weddings and Thorin's coronation.
