A month later. At the outskirts of a valley.
At the valley, there is not much going on as there is peace for nature and the wildlife that soon gets disturbed when a magical powered vehicle came rushing through.
The vehicle runs across the land as it had lots and lots of chests strapped to its top, it is also being driven by a big man wearing a ski mask over his head.
"hehehehe! Big haul!" he laughs as he is actually a thief working with some bandits who are inside the vehicle.
"boss! We're rich!" "yeah! We're filthy rich!" the thief's subordinates yelled in happiness as they are immersing themselves in gold and jewelry. "WE'RE RICH!"
"heheheheh! Just got to get back to base and we're set for life!" the boss snickers as he drives his getaway vehicle across the valley but soon hears galloping on the land. "what the?"
He turns and looks wide eyes to see Natsu coming while riding on Catastoras who neighs loudly.
"what the!? Who are you!?" the thief boss exclaimed.
"the name's Natsu Dragneel! And this is my partner, Catastoras!" Natsu exclaimed with a big grin. "we're Fairy Tail mages and we're here to kick your butts!"
"what the!? Fairy Tail!?" the thief boss exclaimed in shock before he gasp when Natsu jumps off Catastoras' back and came flying down with a flaming fist pulled back.
"Karyu no!" Natsu grins as he came down and slams his flaming fist to the top of the magic vehicle. "Tekken!"
The power of his flaming fist cracks the top and instantly caused an explosion that spread around.
"gyaaahhh!" the thieves screamed as they were burned in flames.
The magic vehicle exploded as a large amount of smoke flew into the air along with a rain of gold and jewelry.
Natsu flies in the air before he lands on Catastoras' back.
Catastoras runs around then comes to a stop near the wreckage of the transport vehicle where the thieves are unconscious by.
"hehehehe! Mission accomplished!" Natsu grins before cards flew in the air and instantly hits his head. "oww!"

"look at what you did!" Cana's voice came as the Card Mage came on another magic transport vehicle and is looking angry. "hey! I told you to be careful of the stolen goods! Just look at what you did to them!"
"b-but I stopped the thieves, right?" Natsu said as he gets up while still having the cards lodged on his head. "that's all that matters, right?"
"what do you mean it's alright!?" Cana exclaimed as she came near and pulled on Natsu's ear. "didn't I tell you that we needed to secure the stolen goods!? I told you that the goods come first! Because of what you did, they're now everywhere!"

"you good for nothing horse!" Natsu shouted before he yelps in pain when Cana begins to pull his ear while dragging him away.
"start picking them up!" Cana exclaimed. "we won't get our reward if there is a gold coin or a piece of jewelry missing! Pick every single last one!"

After sending Ludwig's last message to Catastoras, the metal stallion is now under command of Natsu who is his new Master. Now he serves as the Dragon Slayer's partner during requests in going out of town and he also helped with the guild too.
Catastoras neighs as it shakes its head and follows after Natsu who is picking up the spread out gold coins and pieces of jewelry. The stallion picking up a few with its opened mechanical mouth and as it leans its head up, there is a reddish black Fairy Tail Symbol upon its chest area.
"pick every last one, you hear me!?" Cana exclaimed as Natsu shivers.
"a-aye sir!" Natsu cried out as it was a normal thing when he and Cana goes on mission now.
If he messes up, Cana will scold him very angrily. If he does a good job, he doesn't get scolded. Simple as that.
A few hours later, Natsu and Cana are riding on Catastoras as the stallion runs across a path that is leading straight to Magnolia.
"for crying out loud, we got our reward cut because of you!" Cana said as she looks a bit annoyed to a stack of cash in her grasp which is the reward money for their job to catch the thieves and handing them over to the authorities while also returning the stolen goods. "from a million jewels to just nine hundred and ninety nine thousand jewels!"
"we just lost one thousand, didn't we?" Natsu said to Cana while raising an eyebrow. "what's the problem with that?"
"it's one million! That's the problem!" Cana exclaimed as Natsu squeaks in fear. "just how do you plan to get more info on where Igneel is if you're lacking in money!? You need money to get info faster, remember!?"

At Magnolia and in the Fairy Tail guild, things there are as lively as possible as the guild is just drinking, eating, and partying like they always do.
The door to the front guild was closed but it was soon swung open when Natsu along with Cana and Catastoras came in. the trio came home after arriving at Magnolia.
"we're back!" Natsu yelled out as he got some hollers of 'welcome back' from the guild.
"hey, Cana!" Macao greeted the Card Mage while sitting at a table with Wakaba who is smoking as usual. "how's team 7 (Nana) doing!?"
"as usual." Cana replied smiling while shrugging her shoulder. "Natsu does the job good, but we have to get the reward cut a bit for damages."
"it's as usual as always!" Wakaba laughs with a grin.
"yeah" Cana said before she crosses her arms under her chest and gives the two seniors a look. "and when will you guys stop using that name? it's so annoying that you guys call us that just because our names match in some words."
"what? if you take the Na from Natsu and another Na from Cana, you get Nana (7), right!?" said Macao with a grin while pointing to an imaginary bubble that shows what he had just explained. "it's a perfect fit!"
"and if you add Ca from Catastoras, you get Nanaca!" said Wakaba, adding into the imaginary bubble.
"that's even worse." Cana said with a stoic face while Macao and Wakaba laughed in return.
"hey, you guys! Welcome back!" Mira hollered as she is by the bar with Lisanna. The sisters welcoming Natsu who came by with Catastoras who went and rested on the floor nearby. "how was the job?"
"it was good like always!" Natsu said with a grin as he sat on a seat by the bar before he sighs with a rather nervous look. "but I did some damage like always."
"judging from how Cana is nagging to Macao and Wakaba, I guess so?" Lisanna said with a giggle as she and Mira sees the Card Mage talking to the two seniors of the guild in a nagging fashion.
"it's embarrassing for my Master to be such a disgraceful coward against a woman like Cana Alberona." Catastoras stated as this caused a vein mark to appear on Natsu's forehead.
"what did you say, Catastoras!?" Natsu exclaimed all angry at his steed.
"nothing." Catastoras replied while looking away. "I just speak that you are a coward against Cana Alberona."
"I am not! If there's a fight between me and Cana, I would've!" Natsu exclaimed before he squeaks with an 'eep' when Cana appears behind him with a hand to his shoulder, the card mage having a smile that looks so dark. The salmon haired mage turns his head like a rusted gear and looks very pale while sweating furiously. "C-Cana?"
"if there's a fight between you and me, you would've…what?" Cana asked as Natsu turns white.
"i-I'm sorry…" Natsu cried out as Cana just raise a hand while cracking its fingers a few times.

"you really got him down on that, Cana." Mira said with a grin as she looks down to the floor where Natsu is. He is lying with his face to the wooden floor while having a steaming bandaged red bulge on his head. "always with the usual sight after missions."
"I don't like to do it so often…" Cana said with a sigh as she drinks up her beer and finished it before asking a refill from Lisanna. "he really needs to learn how to hold back on mission if we want to make more progress to get info on Igneel."
"I can understand that." Lisanna said with a smile. "but really, you got obsessed too, don't you Cana?"
"Obsessed with what?" Cana asked while holding her mug to her lips.
"you're obsessed in finding Igneel like Natsu." Mira stated in while leaning against the bar from the back. "you've been helping him find him for years after you formed a team with him and you've been doing a lot of things to help him, right?" she then points a finger up while winking. "it's like you two are married lovers~!"
When Mira said Married lovers, Cana instantly did a spit take with her beer as Lisanna was the victim getting drenched in the alcohol liquid mixed with the card mage's saliva.

"there's also the fact that you tend to visit Natsu to his house and spend your nights there when you're too tired to go back to Fairy Hills."
"that's just…" Cana said as she gets a new mug of refilled beer while blushing a bit. "that's just me helping Natsu finding Igneel. It can't be helped if spend so much time with him." she then coughs into her fist once. "and besides, there's nothing between us. We're just friends."
"really~?" Mira asked with a teasing voice. "are you really sure that~?"
"w-what?" Cana said in retort to Mira's teasing face.
"they always say that there's nothing between them, and that they're just friends." Mira said who smiles a bit teasingly. "that's always been said by people who like each other but just can't confess their own feelings."
"i-I said that there's nothing going on between me and Natsu!" Cana exclaimed before she yelps when Natsu stands up behind her while scratching the back of his head.
"what's going on between you and me?" Natsu said before he gets a slap to the face that sends him flying. "gebuh!?"
Natsu crashed to a table as he surprised the ones' sitting by.
"What the heck, Natsu!?" "you wanna fight!?" "let's rumble!" loud shouting is heard as the guild instantly went into its usual big brawl.
Cana remains at the bar as she is huffing while looking very red as she had a hand outstretched in slapping Natsu.

"shut up!" Cana exclaimed at the two sisters while Catastoras let out a sigh as it rests its head down.
Night came to Magnolia as the moon with the stars in the night sky appears in place of the sun.
Fairy Tail is still active as usual, but our attention is on the western forest and at Natsu's house where Catastoras is found nearby, the stallion in deactivated mode as it remains standing still.

"I guess so." Cana said as she flips some pages filled with written info about sightings on dragons and other stuff that is related. "just by seeing what we got from last month, we should head for Mt. Ivor. first thing next week."
"roger." Natsu replied as he drinks his beer and let out loud sigh. "man, for us to get this much of a lead."
Natsu turns and looks at a board on a wall that has papers pinned and strings attached. He went near and looks at the papers that has info on all the dragon sightings that he and Cana had gone to. Some were fake and some were proved to be real like the one time when the two found the dragon's remains at the valley where Catastoras was found buried in the deceased dragon's old den.
"we're lucky for a few times," Cana said as she placed away the papers and soon takes a few gulps of her beer. She let out a big satisfied sigh before she turns to look at Natsu still standing by the board. "but I can say that we're getting close in finding your dad, Natsu."
"yeah." Natsu said with a smile as he looks at all the findings that the two have collected over the years.
Time passes, Natsu and Cana are just sitting around in the living room as they drink and eat snacks while chattering anything that comes into their mind.
"you heard? Another S-Class Trial is going to be held soon." Cana said to Natsu who made a noise while holding his mug near his lips. "it's almost that time of the year, remember?"
"ooohh, right…" Natsu hummed as he place his mug down and crosses his arms before looking up. "man, it still feels like it was yesterday when we got to the last S-Class trial."
"it does." Cana nods.
The S-Class trials are the trials that are held by guilds to test and see who has become strong and worthy to become an S-Class mage alike with Gildarts.
Over the years, there has been a few members of Fairy Tail who had become S-Class mages.
Notable ones are that of Erza, Mira, and Laxus along with a mysterious member who goes by the name of Mystogan who joined some years ago.
"I wonder what this year's trial is going to be…" Cana said before she grins. "I hope it's the trial where I get to kick my old man's ass like last year." She then looks at Natsu. "what do you think, Natsu?"
Cana soon made a small surprised noise cause she sees Natsu having his head tilted up, his eyes closed, and his lips formed a smile.
"Natsu? What's wrong?" Cana asked Natsu who hums as he opens his eyes and looks at the Card Mage. "what you're smiling about?"
"no, it's just.." Natsu said as he closed his eyes and continues to smile. "I just thought that I should feel satisfied with what I am now."
"what?" Cana asks confused.
"I feel like I'll quit the S-Class trials if I got picked." Natsu said as he opens his eyes. "I'm just happy with what I am currently am."
"eh? Are you being serious?" Cana said in surprise. "you must be drunk, there's no way you don't want to become an S-class mage! It'll give you a big boost in finding Igneel, right!?"
"I ain't drunk, and I'm serious." Natsu said as he turns and looks to a nearby window to see the moon in the night sky. "I admit that I was serious on becoming an S-Class mage when I first about the S-Class trials years back, but I now feel like I should just be happy with what I am now." He then looks back at Cana. "and besides, being an S-Class isn't that all good and stuff."
"Natsu…" Cana muttered out as she looks confused and surprised to Natsu.
"being an S-Class mage means that I get famous and get approved by a lot of people, right?" Natsu said as he smiles while holding up his beer. "it will help me find Igneel one day, but I feel like I should just do what we are doing. Finding him through gathering info and travelling on adventures." He drank his drink and let out a satisfied sigh while grinning. "isn't that what Fairy Tail is all about?"
"what Fairy Tail is all about?" Cana asked before making a small noise when Natsu points a finger up.
"do Fairies have tails?" Natsu said with a smirking grin. "do Fairies exist? It's an eternal mystery." He snickers and grins even more. "gramps always said that in the task to solving this curious mystery would lead to a great adventure. That's what I wanna do in my quest to find Igneel." He then did a thumbs up. "if I take the easy way, it won't be called an adventure! Right!?"
Cana looks at Natsu before she sighs with a smile and then held up her beer.
"you have a point there." Cana said before drinking her beer and let out a sigh. "but you sure? If you give up on the S-class trials, you won't be able to take it until next year. You should really give it some thoughts."
"I already decided that I won't join the S-class trials." Natsu said with a smile that turns into a grin. "and I already decided that I will do my best to help you in becoming an S-class mage!"
"eh?" Cana made a confused noise as Natsu leans close towards her.
"back when we were kids, you told me that you wanted to surpass Gildarts, right?" Natsu asked as Cana nodded slowly and the salmon haired mage grins. "then I'll help you get there, Cana! I'll help you surpass Gildarts!"
"what? but i.." Cana said before Natsu held her right hand and hold it up. "ah!"
"I already promised myself that I'll help you with your dream ever since you started helping me in my dream!" Natsu said while grinning. "you've been helping me for years in trying to find Igneel." He held her hand in a strong and tight hold. "helping you surpass your old man is the least I can do, Cana! You're family, remember!?"

"you're always there for me when either I do something stupid that caused damage on a job, or when I get injured! You're always with me, then I'll always be with you!" he then did a thumbs up.
