"May we go now mother? I think you've held up my date long enough." He said as I could feel his anger almost well visually see it. She motioned for us to go ahead and leave but when Aleksander turned to lead me out Billy walked over taking my hand. "It was a pleasure to meet you again Amira. Perhaps you'll let me take you out for drinks sometimes." Billy said as he kissed my hand but then Aleksander took my hand from him as he glared at him. "She's my date tonight Billy." Aleksander said as he led me away from Billy without any hesitation.
Aleksander put the box in his pocket as if he didn't need to think of such things at the moment and led me out to the club part. I guess since we were already here might as well get some enjoyment out of it and he led me out on the dance floor. We danced to a few songs and people were watching as I noticed a lot of fancy people were but that didn't bother me as much as I thought. When we were done Aleksander led me away and when he snapped his fingers the driver go this car and brought it to us as he led me to my side of the car and let me get in.
when he got into the driver seat he started the car and then drove away from the place. "I really didn't want to put you infront of her like that. She insisted because Billy told her we found you." Aleksander said as I was quiet. I didn't mine the fact that there was something about him I felt a connection with him that I didn't know if I liked or not perhaps it was because he was Shadow and I was Sun but that was easy to tell. I didn't know much about Billy if he had the same powers.
After so long we arrived at a restaurant as he parked then went to the other side and opened my door helping me out. Again, I almost felt underdressed since it looked a bit fancy and walked with him. When we got to the host stand a woman smiled at him. "Aleksander, good to see you again. Is this your date?" The host said as I was unsure how to feel about it. Was he known to be a player? So many thoughts going through my head and I couldn't just ignore them.
He must have felt the change in my behavior cause I felt him adjust his hold and looked at me but I didn't like it. "She is, the granddaughter of a retired member. The Sunlight. Making her special." Aleksander said looking at the hostess. She looked at me but I was no fool to know that people probably wanted to be with Aleksander or his brother. "Right this way." The hostess said as she led us to a table.
I figured we were going to be at a regular table but then I noticed the restaurant had a special area for special guests. When she sat us in a space we'd be unbothered by people and put the menus down it seemed fine. I was unsure what to think when a waiter showed up and took our drink order. I got a coke while Aleks ordered Kvas which I didn't know what that was.
After ordering our dinner we ate in silence which didn't bother me but I knew that there was still school tomorrow. "So you work to pay for college" Aleksander said as I nod. "The Bartending is a part time gig but I get to perform with the girls infront of everyone so it's nice." I admitted as he seemed to look at me and then thought about it. "Amira, you get to choose but when you do choose. I'll pay your college expenses so you don't have to do anything you don't want to." He said
I was surprised that he said that since I was used to working toward what I want and I was paying for my things. "Why would you do that? I've managed just fine before." I said as I ate while looking at him. It was not like me to accept help but with this arrangement over my head I didn't know what to think. Aleksander stopped before he took my hand and brought it to his lips as he kissed the top of it and my eyes widened.
What is this feeling.. I thought
I kept thinking it was because of my sun and his Shadow that we had this intense connection and he looked at me before he got in his pocket and showed me the box. "Because mother has now put Billy and I against eachother and the only way I guarantee you a life you'll want is if you become mine." Aleksander said as I looked at the box. "Go ahead and look at it. Know if you choose me this will go on your hand someday."
I opened the box as I remembered it was tossed to him when I gasped at the ring inside. It was all black and it was beautiful. I looked at Aleks as I closed the box and handed it back "I see...but Billy seems to think he has a chance." I said as Aleksander nod while taking a sip of his drink. "He can't be around you when you need it which is your college courses because he has the company Mom bought for him. Gives me an advantage." Aleksander said
Do I choose Aleksander? I thought
After we ate Aleksander took me back to the car once he paid and we were heading back to his car before he drove me back to the dorms. We walked in easily as no one stopped us and then he got me back to my dorm room. "I had a good night." Aleksander said as I smiled at him. I actually did have a good time too as I looked down to the door but when I came to look back up at him was when he caught me off guard as my lips came in contact with his.
My eyes widened and I saw he seemed to be surprised to and for a minute I considered breaking it but he pinned me between him and the door. I sort of lost myself in that moment as I felt our lips move against the others and when he pulled away I was blushing. "Sorry.." Aleksander said as he stepped back "I'll see you in the morning. Good night Amira." then he left.
I walked in and slid to the floor realizing that I just had my first kiss and I didn't know how to process it. I crawled to my room and got on my bed kicking my shoes off and I laid down going to sleep.
