The Search for the Lost Mousai

Chapter Three

Outside the mansion a dark sphere formed, morphing into a man wearing a long black robe and hooded cloak with pierce red eyes.

Entering the living room, the man turned to the wall where he spotted the raggedy man swarming under the metal retains on his hand's legs and neck. But the moment he laid eyes on the cloak man he stopped.

"Master Aidan," The raggedy man said in a raspy voice.

"What happen, Kyle" Aidan said.

"A Hybrid took the muse."

"From the way you're on the wall they must be powerful." Aidan said.

"He sued water attacks and I smelled the sea upon his skin."

Aiden's eyes narrowed he tilted his head hearing those words.

"Hm, I see,"

Aiden's red eyes glow under his hood as he snapped his fingers and metal retains from around Kyle dropped to the floor.

Kyle jumped down and bowed in front of Aidan. Snapping his fingers again a dozen of shadows appeared behind Kyle morphing into human like beings covered in rags.

"Take them with you, find the muse and bring her to me" Aidan commanded.

Kyle nodded as he rose to his feet.

"If you fail, you know the consequences."

Nodding one more Kyle and the other raggedy men disappeared.

Aiden's eyes narrowed as the words Kyle said continued to play over and over in his mind. A sea hybrid hm the more he thought about it only one word came to mind the gods. Shaking his head he sighed he only knew of one sea god and that last time he remember he was forbidden to ever have any children. Yet he couldn't help but feel as if this hybrid.

Meanwhile back at the golden sun library laying on the bed Mel sighed. Opening her eyes she looked up at a golden yellow celling along with the smell of cimon that tickles her nose. Sitting up Mel glanced around she noticed a bunch of medical supplies along with a long line of beds. She looked to her left to see Percy sound asleep she smiled as her ears picked up his light snores.

I'm glad your safe,"

Mel eyes widen she knew that voice tears stunk her eyes as she looked to the front of her bed and smiled seeing her sister Entrupe in front of her bed. She was about to jump out of her bed and give her sister a big hug but Entrpe held her hands up and shook her head.

"I'm not here, think of me as a image only you can see." Entrpe said.

"Wow, but you look so real" Mel said.

Entrpe sighed. "I never liked using this ability but the situation is dire,"

"Our sisters…"Mel said trailing off as saying it brought more tears sliding down her cheeks.

"Oh Mel…I don't know what to say to make you feel better," Entrpe said sitting down on the edge of Mel's bed. "But with you being safe you can find us."

Mel's eyes widen "How?"

"Mother taught me this, it's called projection. I simply concentrate and tune into your auras and then follow your voice that's how I was able to find you."

"Have you found the others?" Mel asked.

"No, everytime I try to I get nothing. Entrpe paused. "So you have to do it."

Mel scoft. "You got to be kidding me,"

"No, now close your eyes and focus listen for their voices."

Sighing Mel closed her eyes, taking a deep breath she opened up her senses. From the creaking noise in the floor to the tapping noise from the birds outside. Mel noticed with each breath she took the lighter she felt almost as if she was floating. Opening her eyes Mel was no longer saw her sister or even any part golden yellow walls. She was in the air in the company of dozens of white fluff clouds and a fw flocks of birds that fly by cheeping as if greeting her.

A smile spread across Mel's face as she continued flying but after a while a few dark clouds come into view her widen as lighting jumps from one dark cloud to the other cause the clouds to shake violently and rain fall from them. That's when her ears twitched at the sound voice thought a peel of thunder. It was distance she couldn't her it clearly but deep down she knew it sounded familiar. Moving away from the clouds and moved toward she heard the voice.

Dropping lower toward the ground but not touching it she found her self surrounded by tons of glass broken windows and dozens of abandon buildings flowed a dozens of rusty cards with not windows tires just the body frame. She wrinkled her nose as the stench of rotten smell tacross her nose almost causing her to gag.

I must make them laugh I must

Mel's ears twitched again as turned around looking at the 4 story building. Floating up to the second story window she fazed thought the bars she is welcomed by cow webs, roach ridden carpet and a strained mattress with bed strings poke out of it. Looking to the corner of the room Mel's eyes widen it was Thalia. She was still in the clothes she wore when she was taken. Her simple blue summer dress was caked with dust, dried up blood. Her hair was severely matted as her skin held numormous black and blue marks across it followed by a deep cut on her right leg. She should being healing why isn't her wounds healing Mel thought. She sat there in front of Thaila whose body was shaking as she continued rocking her self back and forth with a blank expression across her face. Yet she continues to say what she heard before.

"I must make them laugh I must," Thaila's voice trembled.

Before Mel could reach out and touch her sister's shoulder a strong force continued pulling at her. At first she fought it as she continued to reach out to her sister but she couldn't fight it for long as her mind pulled her back from the abandon buildings, dirty streets and clear blue sky. Her body shivered as she blinked her eyes rapidly. After taking a deep breath she looked to Entrpe who held a smile across her lips.

"I've found Thalia," Mel said.

"Go, save her and maybe in time you can save me,"Entrep said as she disappeared.

Swinging her legs over the side of the bed a pair of footsteps reached her ears. Mel looked into the smiling eyes of brown hair woman with sea blue eyes.

"Ah your awake Melopena is it?"

"Yes, but everyone calls me Mel," Melopenne said.

"Very well, Mel my name is Helen I am the acting head library of the Golden Sun Library

"I've heard about this place, never thought I would ever set foot here." Mel said. But how did we get here I mean I know we teleported here because of a coin

Helen smiled "Your mother contacted us before reaching out to Percy. So we were to make the necessary arrangements."

Mel nodded as she stood up a little wobbly at first but after a moment she was okay.

"I belive I found one of my sisters Thaila," Mel said.

"Then come with me and lets get to work."

Mel glanced back at Percy who was still asleep.

"let him rest we'll fill him in later,"

Nodding Mel followed Helen to the end of the medical ward. A nurse handed her a set of clothes. Stepping into the change room Mel emerged a few moments later in a simple white shirt, a pair of blue jeans with white socks and matching shoes. Before following Helen out of the ward and the hall.

Hours passed and Percy finally opened his eyes. Glancing around he spot a pair of clothes on the end table beside him along with a nurse who bowed slightly at him

"Hello Mr. Jackson I have been informed by Ms. Williams to take you to her. Please get dress and when you are ready, I will be waiting for you by the door," The nurse said before bowing slightly and walking away.

Pushing the covers off Percy stood up and grab the clothes on the end table the nurse pointed to the dress room nodding in thanks he walked and emerged with simple black jeans and a blue top. Grabbing his backpack he walked to the nurse and with a node they left the ward.

Walking down the hall way a chill ran up Percy's back with only a few lamps lighting the way he couldn't help but feel as if was being watched.

Soon the two of them arrived at a door the ready study. The nurse knocked on the door as Percy looked back at the dimly lit hall way. Lost in the pools of darkness and the feeling refusing to go away Percy jumped when a hand touched his shoulder. His head snapped around to Helen who smiled at him.

"Glad to see your awake," Helen said looking down the hallway. "Everything okay?"

"Uh yeah,Percy replied.

Nodding Percy walked inside Helen looked to the nurse who nodded and walked back down the hall.

Shutting the door behind her, Helen walked over and sat down behind the desk while Percy sat down beside Mel who greeted him with a nods.

"Now that your awake we can get down to business," Helen said placing a photo on the desk.

"This is a wraith I thought they were disappeared when the wraith king died," Percy said.

"Apparently not, from the rags you got from the man showed he is part wraith and part human." Helen said.

"But why would Wraiths want with my sisters and I? Mel asked.

"We don't know, we're still looking into it." Mel said.

Pulling out a watch with a golden frame that glisten Helen handed it to Percy.

Slipping it on his wrist the watched gloved.

"Its from our tech department tune to located the muses by showing their symbols give it a try.

Percy moved his arm toward Mel the watch twinkled as an image of a sad drama mask appeared.

"Cool," Percy replied.

The moment he moved his arm back the watch twinkled again but this time it showed a mask with a smile on it's face.

"Thalia…."Mel said as her eyes gave a slight glow.

"Okay, so does this mean she close by or in New York?" Percy asked.

"In New York, the image will become clearer the close you get." Helen said.

"Percy and Mel rose to their feet as Helen did the same."

"I saw where Thaia was a street filled with many abandon buildings even a theater with a outdoor stage.

"Hm," Percy said scratching the back of his head. "Sounds like the old theater districts,"

Pulling out a medium size pouch of gold coins Helen placed one in Percy's hand and Mel before walking around behind Percy and unzipping Percys bad and placing the pouch inside. Zipping it back up Helen took a step back.

"Tel coins, break it and it will take you where you need to go, now good luck you two."

Nodding both Mel and Percy split the coins in two and disappeared in a gold light

Helen sighed. "There going to need it."
