Sam yawned as he scrolled down the laptop looking for a lead for their next job. He looked over the small table in their motel room and watched as Dean liberally doused his fries with extra salt.

"Dude, you're going to give yourself a heart attack or stroke if you keep eating that much salt." He said.

"I gotta do something, all I can still taste is burnt werewolf." Dean replied as he added a flood of ketchup.

"Okay, whatever." Sam said with a grimace.

"So, any new leads?" Dean asked shoving some fries in his mouth.

"Plenty. Take your pick." Sam sighed.

"Alright, hit me. What've you got?" Dean flapped his hand in the air in a 'come on' motion and sat back.

"So we've got a body drained of blood in Chicago." He started.

"Chicago has great pizza too." Dean added, earning himself a mild bitch face from his brother.

"Right. There's also strange lights over Oregon."

"Oregon! Hey, we could go visit Amy!" Dean grinned.

"Yeah, it's been a while, but unfortunately the supernatural doesn't stop to allow us to take staycations with friends."

"Stupid supernatural." Dean slumped in his chair and resumed eating his fries. "What else have we got?"

"Right, so we've got…some cattle mutilations in Texas, some grave desecration in Louisiana…"

"Ghouls." Dean said.

"Sounds like it."

"What else?" Dean rolled his hand in front of him.

"Some coven activity in Utah, 'my baby is an alien'." Thrown in just to give Dean a laugh. "Missing hiker in Massachusetts, teens missing from a bus in Florida. Report says the roof was peeled back, and get this, the few survivors are all being treated in hospital. The authorities say they were suffering from mass hallucinations brought on by some kind of psychotropic drug. Huh. And there's also some demon signs in Southern California…"

"Hey go back to that other thing." Dean said.

"What? The bus thing?"

"No further." Dean said.

"The missing hiker?" Sam asked.

"Nah, the alien baby thing. How do you think that happens? Was the mother taken and artificially inseminated or do you think they hooked up on Tinder?"

"I don't know Dean, you'll have to read the article." Sam smirked at his brother.

They had been on back to back cases and haven't had a break in weeks, months! It was nice for Sam to see his brother occasionally see the lighter side of things and actually make a joke, especially if it wasn't at Sams expense.

"Well, I guess we could check out that coven stuff, swing past Louisiana and sort out those ghouls, then maybe swoop down to Florida to check out the bus."

"What about the demon signs?"

"We'll pass it on to someone else. I'm about demoned out right now."

Sam didn't blame Dean at all on that point. It seemed every other case they did had been demon related.

"Eat your grass before it wilts." Dean said pointing to Sams still untouched lunch beside him.

Sam pulled the plastic bowl in front of him and removed the lid. They discussed the game plan while they ate. Dean surprised Sam by reaching across the table and pulling a slice of tomato and a spoonful of corn kernels from the bowl and eating them.

"Now you can't complain I don't eat healthy." Dean replied to Sams shocked look.

They finished their lunches and Sam disposed of the rubbish while Dean sorted his dirty laundry. They had decided to take the night to rest up after the last hunt. The room had already been paid for and they were both down to their last clean pair of underwear, so that needed sorting before they went anywhere!

By the grace of god, the brothers had managed to wash and dry their clothing before Deans cell began to ring. He frowned at the unknown number on the screen.

"Hello?"

"Hello. Is this Dean?" The voice at the other end asked, sounding frantic.

"Yeah, this is Dean? Who's this?" He asked looking at his brother and shrugging at the question on his face.

"Oh, thank god! This is Derek Thompson, Amy's boyfriend?"

"Derek? How's it going buddy?" Dean asked.

"Amy's Derek?" Sam whispered. Dean nodded.

"Amy's missing!"

Dean shot up from the bed he was sitting on and stared at Sam.

"Hang on Derek, I'm putting you on speaker." Dean pulled the phone away from his ear and pressed the little speaker symbol. Sam crowded close. "Okay, Sams here too. What do you mean 'Amy's missing'?" He asked.

"We were hiking and she kept hearing these riddles right? Then I looked away for a second and she was gone! I called the sheriff and they're searching for her now but it's been two days and there's no sign of her!"

"Derek, this is Sam. What do you mean riddles?"

"Like stupid jokes. Something about whistling and lips and potatoes. I don't know!"

"Okay, Derek, calm down. Where were you hiking?" Dean asked, taking control of the situation.

"Freetown Fall River State forest, in Massachusetts."

Sam looked at Dean.

"The missing hiker, it was Amy." He whispered. Dean nodded solemnly.

"Okay Derek, we're on our way. It's gonna take us a day to get to you but hold tight, she's gonna be okay."

"Thank you!" Derek sobbed. "I didn't know what else to do!"

"It's all right, we'll find her."

Derek passed on the details of the motel he was staying at and the brothers quickly packed the Impala and hit the road.
