I don't own Harry Potter.

albus potter-greengrass: Thank you for the comment. I am not going to be changing the canon pairings, partially because I like them, and partially because I'm not changing significant canon in this story other than James and Lily coming back.

Guest: I want to say how much I appreciate how tactful and respectful your critique was. Thank you for your thoughts. There will be a lot more scenes like the first chapter in the future, picking up around book 3 and 4. Book 5 and 7 will be entirely scenes and won't have letters at all because they aren't safe. However, the majority of the story is told in letter form. Thank you again for your thoughts.

Petra Anderson: Absolutely. I do think that's something James considers, and I don't think he really decides what he thinks about the situation before Sirius escapes. There's only two years between him waking up and Sirius escaping, which isn't a lot of time considering they're catching up on ten missed years and have a son. We'll see more of James' thoughts once I get to book 3. Thanks for the comment!

Dear Harry,

Thank God you are alright! I wish I could thank Firenze for saving you. Don't worry about the other centaurs. Fortune telling is a very imprecise branch of magic, and centaurs are very proud creatures who don't have the best opinions of humans. I still don't think Professor Snape is the one trying to steal the stone, but I do agree that it is probably what Voldemort is after. He will probably be too worried about stealing it to try and kill you. As Hermione said, Dumbledore is the only person Voldemort fears. If he does get the stone, which he won't as it is heavily protected, he'll have to get out of there fast to avoid Dumbledore. Try not to worry, Harry. Remember, no one except Hagrid and Dumbledore knows how to get past Fluffy, and there are plenty of other enchantments protecting it as well. You'll be safe.

We love you,

Mum

Dear Mum and Dad,

I just wanted to let you know. We found out that Hagrid told someone how to get past Fluffy. He mentioned it when playing cards for the dragon egg. We tried to tell Dumbledore, like you told me, but he is gone on urgent business to the ministry. We told McGonagall, but she didn't believe us. I'm sure that Snape sent the letter to Dumbledore to get him out of the school. I can't let Voldemort get the stone; if he does, he'll come back! So, tonight, I am going to go through the trap door and try to stop him. Ron and Hermione insist on coming with me, so I won't be going alone.

I love you both so much.

Harry

Author's Note: Because this chapter is really short, I am posting two chapters this weekend.
