And so, we've come to the end of our adventure. New heroes masked up, enemies were unmasked, and bonds between characters grew as a result. Life goes on, and yet nothing is the same as it was before. Author's Note: I have plans for a sequel to this fanfic, but it may take a while before I'm ready to start it. I hope all you readers will be willing to wait for it. And without further ado…
Epilogue: Dear Diary
It's been a full month since Hawk Moth's defeat and a full month since I've written anything down! Team Miraculous and I have just been so busy.
Gabriel Agreste went to trial for his crimes as Hawk Moth. Many of his akumatized victims testified in court, even though they didn't remember much of their time as villains. Team Miraculous testified as well, but the judge ruled that we didn't have to unmask, so we didn't have to answer any questions that would give away our secret identities.
Nathalie was also supposed to be put on trial, since she was on Hawk Moth's side. However, she hasn't been seen in Paris since I confiscated the Moth Miraculous.
…
Nathalie hid in an alleyway as two police cars passed by. Exhaling, Nathalie reached into the duffle bag she was carrying and pulled out a long, blond haired wig. She placed the wig on her head, expertly hiding all her hair. Nathalie then removed her glasses, and placed a pair of green-tinted contact lenses onto her eyes.
Taking an old-fashioned flip cell phone out of her pocket, Nathalie dialed a number. The line only rang once before the person at the other end picked up. "It's me," Nathalie said. "He failed. You know what to do."
Snapping the flip phone in half, Nathalie dropped the pieces on the ground and stomped on them. Adjusting the duffle bag on her shoulder, Nathalie continued on her way.
…
Despite the fact that having a trial for a supervillain was new territory for the Parisian court system, the verdict was reached fairly quickly. One week after the trial began, Gabriel Agreste was found guilty for acts of terrorism and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
…
Gabriel sat on the cot inside a solitary confinement cell, a flickering ceiling light illuminating the furious scowl on his face.
Suddenly, the lightbulb went out, plunging the cell in darkness. Shouts coming from the guards could be heard as they noticed the sudden blackout. But as quickly as they started yelling, they quieted just as fast.
In the dark, Gabriel's scowl turned into an evil smirk as he let out a howl of maniacal laughter.
…
With Hawk Moth behind bars, Team Miraculous and I have been going on with our lives.
When we returned to school after the mass akumatization, the first thing Alya saw was Nino running toward her to sweep her in a big hug. It was really sweet.
…
Nino practically collided with Alya, knocking the breath out of her as he wrapped her in his arms.
"Alya, babe, I was so worried about you," Nino whispered into her ear. "I remember, even when the akumas got me, I still thought of you. I don't know what I would do if… if something happened to you."
"Nino?" Alya whispered.
"I love everything about you, Alya," Nino said. "I just wanted you to be safe."
Alya gasped, remembering Tara's pearl of wisdom.
She instinctively knew that the time wasn't right, but Alya also knew that when it was, Nino would become a part of Team Miraculous.
"Oh, Nino," Alya said. "I love everything about you, too."
…
Speaking of Alya, I'll admit that we had a slight disagreement about the future of the Ladyblog, since she's now Rena Rouge.
…
"So, I was thinking that I would stop posting on the Ladyblog," Alya said to Marinette as they were hanging out in Chloé's bedroom with the rest of Team Miraculous. "Master Fu's words about the truth not always being able to come to light really stuck with me."
"Does that mean you'll be deleting the website?" Marinette asked.
"No way, girl!" Alya said. "I'm leaving everything up for future generations to see. I'm just not posting any new videos."
Marinette groaned. "Couldn't you just delete the Lila interview? You know now that she was lying about being close friends with me."
Alya shook her head. "No, Marinette. I want the Ladyblog viewers of the future to come to their own conclusions."
Marinette sighed. "I guess I can respect that."
"I'll tell you what, Marinette," Alya pushed up her glasses. "I'll write a comment under the video of Lila's interview saying that I couldn't contact Ladybug to verify my sources."
"Alya, I know I've said this before, but you're the best friend ever!" Marinette exclaimed as she hugged Alya.
…
Since becoming Queen Bee, Chloé has been trying to become a better person. For one thing, she doesn't force Sabrina to do her homework anymore.
…
"My brain hurts," Chloé moaned as she stared at the textbook in her lap. "Can't Sabrina tutor me?"
Tara shook her head. "I don't trust you not to bribe Sabrina into doing your homework. So until you can prove to me that you can do your school assignments on your own, I'm sitting down with you every night and watching you do your homework."
Chloé groaned.
Tara folded her arms. "Just be grateful that I'm not making you do chores around the hotel. You could be spending your nights washing dishes."
"Ack! I'm studying, I'm studying," Chloé cried.
…
Although Chloé didn't suddenly start hanging out with Alya and me, she did stop pulling pranks on classmates and calling people names. The other students haven't quite embraced the new Chloé yet, but school has become a lot more pleasant.
Despite our classmates not trusting her yet, I think Chloé has a new crush! I don't know who it could be, but I'm actually happy that she might find love now that she can't be with Adrien.
…
Chloé was walking out of the school library and struggling to fit one last book in her overstuffed bag when she bumped into another person.
"Oh! Sorry, sorry," Chloé cried as the other person dropped a piece of paper. She bent to pick up the paper, but before Chloé could hand the piece back, she got a good look at the sketch that filled the page.
"Queen… Bee?" Chloé stammered. Just then the drawing was ripped from her hand.
"Oh, no," Nathaniel snapped, his face red. "You're not going to make me feel bad about loving someone this time."
"You're in love with Queen Bee?" Chloé asked. "Why? I thought you liked Ladybug."
"They say that Queen Bee stood up to Hawk Moth when Ladybug didn't have her powers," Nathaniel smiled dreamily. "She's brave and so, so special." Suddenly, Nathaniel scowled and started walking away. "Not that you would know anything about that, Chloé," he called over his shoulder.
Chloé stayed on the floor. "He loves Queen Bee. Nathaniel thinks she's special," Chloé whispered, remembering Tara's pearl of wisdom.
Nathaniel loved a special part of her. When the time was right, he would become a member of Team Miraculous.
…
I started this school year as Marinette, just a normal girl with a normal life. But a lot can change overnight.
…
There was a tap on the trapdoor to Marinette's balcony. Putting her pen down, Marinette stood up from her desk and climbed up to her bed.
Opening the trapdoor, Marinette poked her head out and smiled. "I'll be right out," she said to whoever had knocked.
…
When a true force of evil appeared in Paris, I became more than I ever thought I could be. And so did a lot of other people.
…
Marinette climbed up onto the balcony just as a flash of pale green light dispersed, revealing a boy gazing at her with pure love.
…
Friends, enemies, and people I didn't know beforehand all came together to defeat this evil. And now we're a team.
…
Marinette stood on her toes as Adrien leaned down toward her…
…
And I now know that life can be more…
…
…and they shared a kiss.
…
…Miraculous!
THE END
