It seemed like the Sage, the Observatory, the fact that a golden door was a reason that a betrayal was faked, and her own hand in Walpole's betrayal had driven the wedge between Elaine and her crew deeper down than anyone realized-or rather, the wedge between Elaine and Kevin was driven deeper.

Vane: So this is the new Libertalia, eh? Stinks the same as every other squat I've robbed this past year.

Rackham: Oy! Why the long face? You falling in love?

Elaine: With your blouse. You're welcome to Nassau, gents. Everyone is that does their fair share.

Vane: Fair share? What is this, a fucking monastery?

Rackham: We was lead to believe Nassau was a place where men did as they pleased.

Thatch: Save keeping others from doing the same, aye.

Vane: Captain Thatch, as I live and breathe. And what is this magnificent muzzle you've cultivated?

Thatch: Why fly a black flag when a black beard will do? What brings you two gents this far north?

Vane: The word is the Cuban governor himself is fixing to receive a mess of gold from a nearby fort. Until then, it's just sitting there, itching to be took.

Elaine: Governor Torres himself, eh? Sounds promising.

Thatch: Welcome to Nassau, Captain Vane. Mister Rackham.

Rackham: Now, where... Where can a man find a bit of ruff. D'ya know what I mean?

Elaine: Yeah. Assuming a certain person knows anything about a so-called 'golden door' that his friend hadn't heard about!

Kevin: If a particular captain had known about her mistake from the start, then she'd also realize that her crew was only trying to dissuade her from what Lady Antonia is hiding!

Catherine: Come on! This arguing has not helped us with anything, mateys. We will find Pauline and the other ring bearers, we will find the Sage and the Observatory. But we can't do so without a little teamwork!

Kevin: Sounds lovely, but it appears to me that we've been replaced!

Ava: What?

Kevin: You heard me, little girl.

Ava: Uh, I didn't replace anything or anyone, because unlike you, I actually stuck by my new friend throughout all the adventuring we've done.

Kevin: Did you? Because this morning, it kinda seemed like you forgot.

Ava: Oh, you better get your finger out of my face!

Kevin: You don't point at me!

[They began to slap at each other like little children]

Catherine: HEY! We have other matters to attend to, so let's all just try and get along for a few hours. Okay, Kevin?

Kevin: Whatever you say.

Catherine: Okay, A...(he finds her gone)

Ava: So,...(They spot her, Nathaniel, and Elaine on the Jackdaw on the ocean)...what are we waiting for?(They sailed to the fort.)

Elaine: So what'll you do with your share of the gold we take from governor Torres? Return to Africa? Prince among men?

Ava: I cannot return to a place I have never been. I was born in Trinidad, a slave from my first breath.

Elaine: Ah. But wouldn't you feel... I don't know... More welcome there?

Nathaniel: As you might feel more welcome in Paris?

Catherine: Fair point.

Ava: With this skin and this voice, where can I go in the world and feel at ease? This country here is my best chance. This country called Jackdaw, where I know the names of all citizens, and they know mine, and we work together. Not always out of love, but to keep our country afloat.

Kevin: I think I understand ye. Let's take her, then. For the citizens of Jackdaw!

(They then used the Jackdaw to destroy the fort's defenses and infiltrate it. After killing the officer in charge, he went into the war room.)

Elaine: Well hello, your Excellency. I'd got word you might be here.

Torres: I know your face, pirate. But your name was borrowed the last time we spoke.

Elaine: Ah, yes. I recall... Mister Duncan Walpole, I miss that one. So... What's a Templar Grand Master doing so far from his Castillo?

Torres: I'd rather not say.

Catherine: And I'd rather not cut your lips off and feed 'em to you.

Torres: Two years ago we offered a reward for the Sage's recapture. Today someone claims to have found him. This gold is his ransom.

Kevin: Who found him?

Torres: A slaver by the name of Laurens Prins. He lives in Kingston.

Kevin(thinking): Prins? Two of his hunters are Antonia's girls, so that means there's a good chance we'll get two more rings.

Elaine: We like this story, Torres. And we want to help you finish it. But we're going to do it our way. Using you and your gold.

It was off to Kingston for the band of buccaneers, all the while someone else had his own intentions...(A man steps into Laurens Prins' manor unannounced to meet Zoe, who is beyond shocked to see him)

Darius: Zoe, I won't beat about the bush. I know why I'm here. And I have to tell you, I think it's brilliant! You and I, we're going to have a great time around Kingston...

Zoe: But Darius, if my master were to see me with you, then...

Darius: Shh. Let him try...

Elaine: Here's how it goes. Torres meets with Prins carrying a portion of the ransom, saying the rest is close behind. When we see the Sage, you bring in the rest of the gold, make the swap, and get out. I'll be watching from close by.

Nathaniel: No, Kenway. You run this scheme alone, at the risk of losing the faith of your crew. It makes me ill to think of you bartering with that wretched slaver.

Elaine: Come on, mate. Once we have the Sage, we'll all be rich!

Ava: Not if young Master Kidd gets to him first.

Edward: Kidd? Jaysus, that lad's here to kill him.

Kidd: Elaine! What the hell are you doing here?

Elaine: I'm tailing these men to the Sage. Can you hold off 'till he appears?

Kidd: The Sage is here?

Elaine: Aye. And Prins is leading us straight to him!

Kidd: All right, Jaysus. I'll stay my blade for a time... but not long.

Torres: How long has it been since our last meeting, Mister Prins? A year?

Prins: Nearer eighteen months. You first described this Roberts fellow to me in November of 1715.

Torres: Ah yes. Much has changed in that short time, you know. None call me governor, for instance, for I quit that post last year.

Prins: Ah, I was not aware.

Kidd: You couldn't help it, could you Kenway? Sticking your nose into things you can't understand.

Elaine: You're making me nervous, Kidd. Keep your blades corked.

Torres: So many churches in Kingston. Have the English at last taken to converting their slaves to the Christian faith?

Kidd: Just my bloody luck. TWO major targets, and I'm kept from killing 'em both.

Elaine: Steady Jim. We're close. Don't worry.

Prins: Ha! Convert them? God knows, Torres, there's none here so foolish as that!

Torres: Foolish? How do you mean?

Prins: Is it not a sin to enslave a fellow Christian? Therefore, to transmute a slave's soul from animal to man would be tantamount to inviting one's cattle to the dinner table.

Torres: Forgive my impatience. But how far is it yet?

Prins: We are nearly there.

Guard: Stand your ground, slave! And face corporal punishment like a man!

Slave: Why act like a man now when you have denied me that right for thirty years?

Torres: I find your bearing appalling, Prins. I believe all thinking, feeling men deserve respect and opportunity.

Prins: Ah, you Spaniards. Your long ties to the Moors have diluted your blood and softened your hearts.

Torres: This is not to say I believe in the natural equality of all races or sexes. Surely men with talent and intelligence should lead. But there is no true profit to be gained by the practice of slavery. In the short term it makes us money, (yes), but in the long term it will render us the victims of our own success.

Prins: Ah, but you and I, sir - old as we are - will not live to see that unfortunate day. So why bother? Watch where you step, boy!

Torres: For virtue, if nothing else.

Prins: Virtue... Torres, I have no wish to waste my day chattering about slaves and their pitiable condition. Let us conclude this transaction, then celebrate as friends.

Are the stories about you true, sir? You were a governor in Florida for a time?

Torres: Yes, yes. I am one of a number of civil servants in my family. A long line of politicians.

Prins: I have always toyed with the idea of entering politics myself, only I feel I have too much money and not enough years.

Torres: Speaking of stories, Prins... I've heard it said you were with Henry Morgan the day he sacked Panama. Sixteen-seventy-one, was it?

Prins: O, it's all true, yes. But let us not over-esteem the honours forged and won on the battlefields. That skirmish was a deadly one, and a tremendous waste of coin and resources. It wasn't until many years after that I sheathed my sword in favor of a far safer and yet more profitable venture. Capital and resources. That's where money is made. And, sir, let me tell you... honour bought is more enjoyable than honour won, if a touch less permanent.

Torres: I grow tired of this walk. We must be close.

Prins: Yes, just here. We must be on equal footing, you see? I don't trust Templars any more than you trust me.

Torres: Well, if I had known you were so skittish, I'd have brought you a bouquet of flowers.

Prins: Ah, I don't know why I bother... for the money, I suppose. The vast sums of money. You... you say you came alone, Torres?

Torres: Not alone, but certainly without colleagues. I took passage aboard a British merchant's brig.

Prins: Ah...

Kidd: Now's the time.

Elaine: No. Not until we see the Sage.

Prins: Here's a quiet spot. I'll see the money.

Torres: This is but a portion of the ransom. The rest is close at hand.

Prins: It pains me to traffick someone of my own race for profit, Mister Torres. Tell me again... what has this Roberts fellow done to upset you?

Torres: Is this some form of protestant piety I am not familiar with?

Prins: Perhaps another day.

Torres: What?!

Prins: Next time, see to it that we are not followed! Deal with this!

Elaine: Busted.

Kidd: You cocked up my kill, Kenway.

Elaine: For a better cause!

Kidd: You lost your chance, man. I'm going after Prins.

Elaine: Kidd, no! Jim, stop!

Kidd: Not this time, Kenway!

Elaine: Come on man! We can work this together!

Kidd: You had your chance!

Elaine: Stay your blade, Kidd! Wait!

Prins: There's a killer here. Help! Guards! Guards! To me!

Kidd: Damn you, old scratch! Keep your natty hands off me!

Elaine: I can't let you kill those men, Kidd. Not until I've found the Sage.

Kidd: I been stalking that pig for a week now, charting his moves! And here I find not one but TWO of my targets... and you rob me of both!

Elaine: Patience, man. You'll have your kills.

Kidd: When I locate the Sage, you're helping me take Prins. Got that?

Kevin: Well, well, well. You certainly aren't owning up to your mistake, now are you?

Elaine: And I suppose your mission is still unbearably healthy.

(At Prins' Manor)

Prins: Theodora!

Theodora: Coming.

Prins: Zoe? Come to your master, Zoe. Come, my servant... Is it really so terrible that... Merciful heaven. What is this?!

Darius: Oh. I say...(Taking Zoe with him)Sorry sir, but we've got a date to arrange...

Prins: I'll kill you!

Darius: Now, now! That's not necessary...

Kevin: Looks like someone's definitely off the rails. Cathy, Gill, run defense. Me and Harry will take care of the rings.

Darius: There's really no need for violence... You have me confused with someone else... She needed some help... with... some things... I'm mostly innocent!(Kevin and Harrison soon catch up with them)

Zoe: You!

Kevin(to Darius): Thank you. You've just delivered unto us the very items we desire.

Darius: I don't think we need to deal with this right now, sir.

Theodora: Well, that makes two of us.

Zoe: Just let me go, Darius.

Darius: I'm just trying to save you.

Zoe: Save me? I work for Mister Prins.

Darius: Look, I don't want to get caught up in this whole Templar affair! I just want to leave with the girl, and trouble you no further.

Theodora: You're already causing more than you even...

Catherine: Speak, hands, for me!(Everyone is soon swept up into a brawl! In the confusion and chaos, Zoe accidentally kills her own partner)

Zoe: Theodora, I'm so sorry.

Theodora: You did what you had to do, girl. Them's the breaks.

Zoe: I'm sorry! I- I- I didn't mean to. I didn't know-

Theodora: To think, you and I weren't so similar after all. Still doesn't change the fact that Lady Antonia still holds all the cards, though.

Zoe: Then I will make sure she can't make another scheme ever again!(She takes her ring off, then her partner's)

Kevin: You made a good decision.

Zoe: Have I?

Darius: I've a ship docked near Port Royal, sirs and madame. Whenever you're ready, we'll go wherever you want.

Harrison: Not before Elaine takes care of her business first.

Elaine: Wouldn't you prefer meeting in a pub?

Kidd: I came to Kingston chasing a target. Getting pissed ain't a priority.

Edward: We could work together on this, you know. It's Laurens Prins you're after, and I want his prisoner.

Kidd: We're after the Sage, as well, Elaine. Careful who you cross.

Elaine: May the best man win.

Kidd: There's guards patrolling that property from end to end. Looks to me like they use bells to signal trouble. See there? We'll want to disable those before pushing too far. With so many men about, we can't rely on stealth alone. So... I'll do what I can to distract and draw their attention, giving you a chance to cut 'em down.

It was clear 'Kidd' was hiding more than Elaine first guessed. But none of that mattered at the moment...they had a job to do!(Elaine found Prins in the garden and assassinated him.)

Prins: Why hang over me like a leering crow? To see an old man suffer?

Elaine: You've caused no small portion of suffering yourself, Mr. Prins. Retribution, I suppose.

Prins: You absurd cutthroats and your precious philosophy. You live in the world, but you cannot make it move.

Elaine: You mistake my motive, old man. I'm only after a bit of coin...

Prins: As was I, lad. As was I.

Kidd: Head's up, Kenway! I found your man!

Roberts: I remember you. The Templar from Havana.

Elaine: I'm no Templar, mate! That were just a ruse! We've come here to save your arse from this slaver.

Roberts: Save me? I work for Mister Prins.

Elaine: Well then he's a poor man to call master. He meant to sell you out to the Templars.

Roberts: You can't trust anyone, it seems.

Elaine: Roberts!(Roberts shot the alarm bell, allowing him to escape.)

Elaine: Crud!

Kidd: Let's move, Kenway! Run! See you on the other side!(Afterward)Lost your man again, did you?

Elaine: Aye. Roberts is a devil, with a queer aversion to kindness. I suppose that's two men I've lost today. So... what's your real name, lass?

Kidd: Mary Read to my mum. And them I call friends. But not a word of it to anyone. Or I'll unman you as well.

Kevin: Well, it appears I'm the one whose mission progresses without another hiccup.

Elaine: Keep talking, and I'll give you more than a hiccup!

Kevin: Will you wake up? I'm trying to undo YOUR mistake, while you seem to be putting more salt on the wound!(The two once again leave with a Hmph)
