CH 187
Then they slowly waited in line at one of the counters. When they finally walked out of the shop and over to the van, Sam looked at her watch and was shocked to see that they were in the store for almost two hours. Jack put everything into the back of the van while Sam talked to him
"Talk about a madhouse in there" Jack said
"I know, did you relies we have been in there for almost two hours" he look at her
"Two hours"
"Yes"
"Well we were going slow"
"True" Once everything was in, Jack took care of the trolleys then he helped Sam back into the van then he took care of the wheelchair.
Once all done they left to go to the liquor store where Jack walked in then walked out ten minutes later pushing a trolley around to the side of the van and opening the sliding door. He then put the boxes of cans and bottles in the back then he closed the door and took the trolley back into the store.
Then he walked out and got back into the van, then they were on their way back home. Jack noticed Sam was munching on a packet of chips which made him smile. When they got home, Mark and the family walked out to see them.
"Gee Jack did you buy the whole store" Mark said
"Funny, no" Jack took care of Sam first while the others started taking things into the house.
Within twenty minutes everything was put away and they all were having drinks in the game room.
"Jack where the turkeys?"
"I'll be picking them up later"
"Ok" They all talk till the kids walk into the game room.
Ann took them to the bathroom then she went and got them all a drink. When she returned they were eating a chocolate chip cookie while sitting at the table. John was on Mrs Cole's lap eating half a cookie. She passes her mum john drink then walks over to the table and passes the triplets their drink. They all talk and laugh teasing each other while playing a game of pool.
Later that evening Jack left to go back to the grocery store to get the turkeys then he returned with them, then he cooked up lasagne for dinner, he made four dishes of it. They all sat down around the table and breakfast bar eating dinner.
Afterwards they all have ice cream and fruit salad for dessert. Elizabeth and Ann took care of the dishes while Jack got them all a drink. The kids were all in the living room watching a video while the adults were in the family room talking.
Early the next morning, Jack and Sam showered and dressed, then while Jack was having a shave and cleaning up the bathroom. Sam made the bed then she managed to walk down stairs and got into the wheelchair and wheel herself into the kitchen where she got herself a glass of apple juice and waited for Jack.
When he walked into the kitchen Sam was eating a banana.
"What would you like before breakfast this morning Sam?"
"Pan cakes for everyone?" Jack smile then bend over and gave her a kiss
"Is that what you want?"
"No, but it would be easy for every one oh and fruit salad for the ones who want it"
"Sure" then he gave her a kiss
"First thing is the turkeys" then he started suffering while they talked. Sam heard Jack groan when she was teasing him with the banana
"Something wrong Jack" she said smiling
"Stop teasing me like that Sam"
"Why does it turn you on?"
"What do you think" then she tease him again while smiling
"Sam"
"Yes Jack" he shook his head at her then carried on making the stuffing.
An hour later all the family was up and sitting down somewhere eating pancakes with syrup and fruit salad for breakfast. Afterwards everyone went to do their thing.
Jack took care of the cooking and put plates and other dishes on the table while everything was cooking. When it was lunchtime Ann, her mother and Elizabeth helped Jack with putting all the vegetables on the serving dishes and gravy in the gravy boats and onto the table while he took care of the turkeys.
When they were on the three meat platters, Ann and Elizabeth took one tray out each and put them in front of Jack and Mr Cole. Then they sat down themselves just as Jack walk out with the third turkey and put it down in front of him then he sat down
"Grace would you like to do the honors in giving thanks"
"I would love to Jack" they all held on to each other hands and bow their heads
"Thank you god, for today, thank you lord for the food where we are just about to eat, thank you for the families who are here today to share with this meal. Bless Jack and Sam for opening there home to all of us and bless the hands for preparing this lovely meal, in Jesus name, amen"
"Amen" they all said then they let go of each others hands, then Jack stood up and pick up carving knife and fork
"Shall we" then Jacob and Mr Cole stood up and picked up a carving knife and fork then they cut at the same time.
The others cheer them on. Sam, who was at the other end of the table, smiled at Jack as he carved the meat and started putting slices on to plates while the women took care of the vegetables. They pass them around making sure kids got their vegetables. A few minutes later, after the meat was carved up, the men pop open the wine bottles and pour them.
Sam and Ann's parents only had the non-alcoholic wine while the others had normal wine and kids had apple juice. They all talk while enjoying their dinner. An hour and half later they all sat back patting their stomachs. Sam was still eating at that time.
"Jack that was a great lunch" Jacob said
"Thanks, while don't you all go into the living room, the parade is about to show on TV"
"What about you Jack"
"I'm going to keep Sam Company," he said smiling
"Ok come kids, lets go" Mark said they all stood up and walk into the living room while Jack walk down and sat in the chair next to Sam
"How are you feeling?"
"Good, how about you?"
"Good, so what shall we do about Christmas?"
"I don't know, have it here just in case"
"I was thinking the same thing, while you are eating, I'm going to start taking care of these dishes"
"Ok" Jack leaned over and gave Sam a kiss then he stood up and started taking care of the dishes while Sam watched him.
Half an hour later they join everyone else in the living room. They were able to watch the last of the parade. When it was over, the kids went to their rooms to have their afternoon nap. After the parade was over, football started, so while the guys watched football, the women walked down to the game room where they played games while they talked. That night they all had a light dinner since they all had a big lunch.
Over the next few days, they all went shopping together, went and played indoor and outdoor games while they tease each other. On Sunday afternoon Jack and Sam said their goodbyes to the families before they all left for the airport in the vans. They were leaving the vans at the airport since the Hire Company is picking them up from there. After they left they went back into the living room where Jack sat down on the couch
"What a weekend" Sam smile
"You love it" he turn to her
"Yeah being chased by three two and half year olds and eighteen month old kids, sure was fun"
"Yep, you were also acting like a big kid yourself"
"Yeah, I was… so what do you want to do now Sam?"
"Bathroom then lie down"
"Ok, let me help you" he stood up and help Sam to the toilet, when finish, he help her up stairs to their bedroom where she lay down and relax
"Better"
"Yes thanks"
"Need anything?"
"No, I'm fine, I'm just going to take a nap"
"Ok" he gives her a kiss before he walks out the door leaving her to get some rest.
Jack went to strip down the beds and put the sheets down the laundry shoot then he made the beds and cleaned the bathrooms. Once finished there. He walked down stairs and into the laundry room where he put a load of sheets through the washing machine then he walked down to the guest bedroom and did the same there also. Then he did some housework for a while and got dinner for them both.
That night Sam had her dinner while in bed while Jack spoke to her while she was eating it. When finished he took it back down stairs and cleaned up then he returned back into the bedroom. He strips down to his tee shirt and boxers then he crawls into bed and snuggles up to Sam as they watch TV for the next two hours before they both close their eyes and fall into peaceful sleep.
Over the next two weeks while Jack was at work, Sam was in bed watching TV, or doing crossword puzzles, sleeping, eating, drinking or reading. On Saturdays her and Jack went to do Christmas shopping even though they already got every one their Christmas presents which is the tee shirts for everyone.
On Saturday afternoon they were in the mall shopping when Sam put her hands on her stomach when she felt a sharp pain. When it went away she waited while looking at Jack who was buying body lotion for Grace again, he brought her a year supply. When he thanked the staff and picked up the backs, he sensed something was wrong, so he turned around and looked at Sam who was stroking her stomach and with a concerned look on her face.
"Sam what wrong"
"I'm not sure, but I think you better get me to the hospital"
"Ok, lets go" he push Sam to the exit when four people was stand partly in the doorway talking
"Ah excuse me, we would like to get past please." Jack said. They had their backs to Jack and Sam. Sam gasp when she held onto her stomach
"Oh no"
"Excuse me we would like to get through" Jack asked again
"Hey move your ass" Sam yelled, they stop talking and turn around and gave Sam a cold look
"Don't you talk to us like that" one of the women said
"Well I have every right, you would be to if you are in labor" there eyes widen then step a side
"Thank you, Jack we better hurry unless you want our kids born in the mall here" Then he push his was through the crowd yelling out "move it people lady in labor here"
People move out of their way just as Sam screams when a contraction hits and they see them heading towards the exit. When they got to the truck Jack quickly put everything into the truck then he helped Sam in just as another contraction hit. Once in he took care of the wheelchair then he got in and started the truck up and they quickly left the parking lot.
"Hang on Sam we will get there"
"I know… oh god" Jack held onto her hand so she could squeeze it then let go again, so he could put his hand on the wheel.
"Remember, breath"
"I know" Jack made sure all the lights were green when they went through.
When they got to the hospital, he parked the truck in a spot next to the hospital door, then he quickly got out and got the wheelchair out. Then he helped Sam into it just as another contraction hit. Sam held onto his hand till it passed, then she let go.
He closes the door and makes the doors lock as he pushes the wheelchair into the warm hospital. He pushes the chair up to the nurse's station where a nurse looked up at them
"Can I help you sir, mama"
"I'm Jack O'Neill and this is my wife Sam, she gone into labor"
"Ok" then she pick up the phone and made a call
"How far are the contractions?" she asked
"Five minutes and water hasn't broken, '' Sam said, then the nurse relayed the message. After talking on the phone she hung up
"Someone will be here in a minute, Mr O'Neill can you fill this form out"
"Sure" she passes him a pen and forms. He look at Sam then she grab his hand as another contraction hit
"That is Sam, just breath"
"I know" when it passed she let go of his hand then he filled out the forms just as a nurse showed up.
"Mr O'Neill, Mrs O'Neill care to follow me"
Jack signs the forms and passes them back to the nurse then he pushes the wheelchair and follows the nurse down to one of the rooms. Once they were in there, Jack help Sam to stand up just as another contraction hit
"Four minutes apart" Sam said then she turn and put her hands on the end of the bed holding the bar while Jack rub her back
"Oh god" then she look down
"My water just broke… sorry"
"It ok" Sam breathed while Jack rubbed her back till the contraction passed.
"Mr O'Neill would you help your wife to get change in to this gown"
"Sure" Jack help Sam to get change while the nurse move the wheel chair out of the way
"I'll be right back" then she left them alone.
"How are you feeling Sam?"
"Nerves, scared, happy, you?"
"Same here" he gave her a kiss. Then he finishes helping her to get change. Once done she started to pace back and forth.
"Jack my bag"
"Once you are settle in I'll go and get it"
"Thanks"
Jack watches Sam as she walks around the floor while stroking her stomach, then she walks to the end of the bed and grabs the bar just as another contraction hits. Jack was next to her rubbing her back for her
"That is Sam, you doing really good"
"Thanks, I wish mum was here"
"I know sweetheart, but I'm here"
"I know" then the door opens and Jack turns to see the nurse and cleaner walk in with a bucket and mop.
Sam moves out of the way "sorry about the mess"
"It ok I'm used to it"
"Well Sam at least it happen here and not at the mall"
"Now that would embarrassing" Nurse look at them both
"I had my first contraction while we were shopping"
"Ah, Dr winter will be here when he get a chance he at the moment in the delivery room delving a baby as we speak"
"Ok" when the cleaner finished she left them alone.
"Sam, will you be ok, I'll go and get you a bag?"
"Sure, I'm not going any where" he gives her a kiss then he walks out of the room leaving the nurse and Sam alone.
