Scaling Icy Goals
Trollex let out a yawn while stretching his arms above his head as he trudged his way down the streets of Smile-o Smile-o City in the early morning. He had his first all-night work shift at the radio station and had done such a magnificent job his boss let him have the day off. And a good thing, too, because he was ready to just flop over onto a bed and go to sleep.
He didn't plan to do an all-night shift, but after what happened yesterday, when the Normal Trolls confronted Quincy about "cheating" on an MMT he met through phone dating called Glimmer, only to discover that not only it was Essence in disguise, thanks to the special disguise robe Rodrigo had left after the meeting at the condo a few days ago, but her secret about working at the phone dating service also came to light. Luckily, the little conflict resolved itself, and the love between Quincy and Essence was stronger than ever. Essence had left the phone dating service and was now back with her family and friends. The only downside to what happened was that Quincy's phone dating calls racked the phone bill up to 7,000 Trollars, which was a lot of money.
So, now, he was picking up shifts whenever he could to help earn a little extra money to pay off the phone bill.
Trollex yawned, saying, "Man, that's the last time I try to stay up all night while working. Hopefully, I can just get some daytime shifts for the next while."
Since he was so tired, Trollex ended up stumbling on his feet and was about to fall flat on his face, but something caught him just in time. He was gently brought back up while a voice said, "There you go. You ok, man"?
Trollex rubbed his eyes while looking up, spotting that the Troll who helped him up turned out to be McJagger, who was wearing a light blue sweatshirt (for quadruped Funk Trolls) with a hood, dark blue sweatpants, and a dark purple runner's cap on his head. Surprised, Trollex chuckled before asking, "McJagger? What are you doing up so early"?
McJagger replied while jogging in place, "I got up to do a morning run with Synth and Smidge. A nice way to stay in shape and lets you see the streets of Harmonious Land while it's just a little bit dark outside. How was work"?
Trollex yawned while replying, "Ask me that once I have my coffee so I don't go passing out on the street again."
Then, he heard two panting voices coming up to the boys and saw it was Smidge and Synth. Synth was wearing a blue sports headband with teal pixels and T symbols, while Smidge was wearing an orange workout shirt with a dark purple skirt and a white sports headband on her head, and a matching orange bow in her hair tied things off.
"Hey, bro," Synth greeted Trollex, asking, "How was work? I heard your segment last night before I went to bed! It was so *imitates airhorn noises*"!
"You look pretty tired. Long night," Smidge asked.
Trollex chuckled, saying, "Yep. And I'm now a walking tired Troll zombie," before he felt his stomach rumble, adding while holding his stomach, "Who's also hungry."
McJagger, Synth, and Smidge broke into laughter with the Techno king, as Smidge said, "We're all heading to Jollybee's to meet up with everyone else for breakfast. Care to join"?
Trollex nodded, saying wearily, "Sure, I can definitely use some food."
"Hop on, I can give you a lift if you're tired from walking," McJagger said while offering Trollex a ride on his back.
Trollex climbed onto the red Funk Troll's back, getting himself settled while saying, "Thanks, McJ."
"Hey, let's race there, yo," Synth suggested while stretching his fins.
"Yeah," Smidge and McJagger both replied excitedly.
"Uh, are you sure that's a good id-WOAH," Trollex said before having to hold on tight, screaming as McJagger took off running, with Synth and Smidge following close behind him, while they ran as fast as their legs could carry them.
They ran all the way to Jollybee's, where Synth ended up taking the win as he backflipped his way to the door, saying, "Yay! I won, yo"!
Smidge and McJagger jogged over to Synth, both Trolls trying to catch their breath, with Smidge saying, "Good race, Synth."
"Yeah, you got my heart pumping blood faster than a choo-choo train," McJagger added while trying to catch his breath.
"Wow, you guys are really fast," Trollex commented while climbing to the ground off of McJagger's back, saying, "Great race."
Synth beamed happily as he opened the door and let his friends walk inside first before he followed, letting the door close behind him.
Inside, they looked around, trying to see where their friends were. Luckily, they saw Aggie spot them and waved at them, gesturing them to come over, while Beat, who was floating over Aggie's head, shouted, "Over here, guys"!
The small group smiled as they walked over to the rest of their friends, who were sitting together with three groups of tables together.
Trollex took his seat right by Aggie, Aggie greeting her boyfriend with a romantic kiss, which Trollex was happy to reciprocate.
Smidge sat next to Biggie, and the pair high-fived each other.
Synth sat next to Stereo, who gently tickled Synth under his chin, making the Techno ambassador blush while giggling a bit.
McJagger sat right in between Laguna and Prince D, greeting his best friend with a fist bump, and getting greeted by a kiss on the cheek, courtesy of Laguna, who blushed when she kissed her boyfriend.
"Wow, man, you look...tired," Barb commented to Trollex, who rolled his eyes in response and sarcastically retorted, "Oh, really? I didn't know; thank you, captain obvious."
"How was work," Essence asked, lightening the mood while pouring some tea into a cup to drink for herself.
Trollex replied while Synth poured him a cup of coffee and gave it to Trollex, "It was really busy. You think radio dies down a bit when it's night, but the tempo just picks up and goes really quickly. It's like the fast track of a song, but really, really busy."
While Trollex sipped on his coffee, Aggie held his free hand, soothingly rubbing it with her thumb, while she said, "Well, at least you were able to last through it. and you got a day off out of it, so you deserve all the rest you want for your hard work, Trollex."
Trollex smiled when he placed his mug down and kissed Aggie on the cheek, making the MMT blush.
While everyone was eating breakfast together, Dante noticed a poster up on the wall by their table, and asked, "Say, what is that"?
Everyone looked over at the poster and saw it was a poster of a tall mountain and the silhouette of a Troll on top of it.
"Oh, that's a poster of the tallest mountain here in Harmonious Land: Mount Yodelerest," Aggie answered.
"Mount Yodelerest? Hot dang, that there sounds laake one tall mountain," Holly commented while slicing up her pancake.
"Oh, you bet it is," Aggie answered, taking a moment to take a bit of her food, before explaining, "Mount Yodelerest is really big, and a lot of Trolls have attempted to climb it, but getting to the other side is a perilous journey."
"Perilous? How so, future sis-in-law," Stereo asked curiously.
"Because there are all sorts of dangers up there that anyone can face," Aggie answered, "There'd frigid temperatures, knee-deep snowbanks, altitude sickness, chasms, and that's only the tip of the iceberg or mountain in this case."
"That's why to get around it, MMTs usually drive around the smaller, safer mountains," Aggie added.
"Woah," everyone said in awe/surprise.
Tiny Diamond then raised his hand, asking, "Say, Aggie, why is that mountain called Mount Yodelerest anyways"?
Aggie answered, "It's because Magic Yodeling Trolls like to climb up onto the mountain and practice their yodeling, and often, while doing so, they also cause heaping amounts of snowy weather."
"So, Magic Yodeling Trolls can control snow," Smidge asked curiously.
"Yeah, and sometimes ice," Aggie replied while chewing on a piece of bacon.
Everyone seemed to chatter in amazement about hearing info about Mount Yodelerest.
"Wow, imagine the view you could see from up there! It's probably even higher than up on the Big Squeeze," Val commented with a chuckle.
"Plus, think of the adventurous thrill you'd get from scaling something like that! So rocking," Barb added happily.
"If we got to climb that mountain, we'd have one of the most epic adventures of all time, baby," Low-Note Jones commented with a chuckle.
"Ha! Like you weirdos would even have a chance of climbing up Mount Yodelerest," a new voice suddenly commented.
Everyone turned their heads to see who it was that said the comment before Clampers commented as she pointed, "Look, y'all! Ain't that Diana, Jamie, ayn' Aires Claire"?
It turned out to be Diana Caro, Jamie Medina, and Aires Claire, who were eating breakfast not too far away from where the Normal Trolls were sitting, as Diana was the one who made the comment, adding, "Uh, yes, it is us."
"Well, well, haven't seen you three since we beat ya at the Grudgby game two days ago," Barb stated.
"Which shouldn't have happened, but unfortunately, did," Jamie mentioned bitterly.
"But," Aires Claire stated, mentioning, "We aren't here to be bitter with you. Instead, while it coincidental that we are eating here together-,"
"We came to say, despite your weirdness, you Normal Trolls...have inspired us," Diana commented.
This confused Aggie and her friends, with Biggie asking, "Uh, we did"?
Diana and her friends nodded in agreement, with Jamie saying, "Yes, you have. The fact that despite all of you being different from one another, you still stick by one another as friends, and friendship is a beautiful part of harmony."
"Well, thank you," Poppy replied, adding, "We've been friends with one another for a while now, about many months."
"Pretty nice. Not as many as many years, like Jamie, Diana, and I have been, but almost as good," Aires Claire stated.
"Hold up. what does any ov that have ta do with y'all sayin' we couldn't even attempt ta claamb that there mountain," Gust then inquired.
Diana then answered, "Well, the thing is...how should I word this gently? You lot don't seem like you're up for the task."
"Us? Not up to do anything? Ha! I think you failed to notice, uh, we're pretty capable," Val retorted back with a confident smirk.
"Maybe at some things like sports or music, but have any of you ever climbed a mountain," Jamie asked.
"And not some rock climbing toy, a real mountain," Aires claire added.
"Do hills count," Cooper asked curiously.
Diana, Jamie, and Aires Claire all seemed to laugh mockingly in reply.
"Face it, Normals. There are just some things you all can't do. You can't use magic, you can't fit in, and you especially can't climb up a snowy mountain, especially one such as Mount Yodelerest. You'd all be too chicken to even try such a thing," Diana retorted.
"Hey! We ain't chicken to do nothing," Sid retorted while chewing on a fried chicken leg.
"Right," Jamie said while rolling her eyes, before Aires Claire stated, "Well, this was "fun," but we three have better places to be."
"See ya," Diana said as she, Jamie, and Aires Claire soon got up from their seats after leaving a tip and walking out of the restaurant.
That left Aggie and the Normal Trolls by themselves in the restaurant, with Aggie saying, a scowl prominent on her face, "Man, those three just won't let up."
Suddenly, Poppy got a great idea, saying, "You know what? Why don't we"?
"Why don't we what," Legsley curiously asked while putting some powder sugar on top of the doughnut she was eating.
"We should show them by trying to climb Mount Yodelerest"?
"What," everyone exclaimed in shock.
"Us?! Climb up that snowy, icy deathtrap," Barb asked in disbelief.
"Poppy, I know you're known for crazy ideas, but this has to be the craziest idea you've ever had," Branch told his wife straight up.
"Yeah! As much as we'd love to prove those three wrong, there's no way in Troll we can do it," Rhythm added worryingly.
"We're not prepared for the dangers up there," Blues added.
"Plus, nawht ever'one has rock-claambin' experience, so how are those who haven't done it befawe supposed ta fair on ayy tall, rocky mountain," Delta added.
Aggie then said, "Guys, I know it's crazy, and trust me, I think it's a bad idea too, but...what's the harm in trying it"?
"Uh, how about the chances of us DYING up there," Dante exclaimed worryingly.
"Yeah, if we don't freeze to death, we'll either get crushed by rock or eaten by a Yeti," Tiny Diamond added, saying, "And Tiny ain't ready ta die in the jaws of a snow monster."
"One, Yetis don't exist, except only in stories," Aggie pointed out before mentioning, "And two, yes, there are a lot of risks, but think about it. We've all gone through so much together, stuff that's been even more dangerous than climbing a mountain, right"?
"Well, we were almost kidnapped and eaten by Bergens long before we met you guys," Guy Diamond pointed out.
"Plus, we went through a crazy World Tour and had almost all our musics destroyed and we all were almost turned into Rock zombies," Prince d mentioned, his comment earning some looks at Barb, who facepalmed, saying, "Seriosuly, am I never gonna live that down"?
"Nope," Trollex replied bluntly with an eye roll.
"Plus, don't forget about when the Siren Trolls came to Pop Village and tried to use the bad negativitity they caused around the other Trolls to gain power and hypnotize everyone," Trollzart added.
"Yes! Exactly," Aggie exclaimed, smiling while saying, "We've gone through the fire and back, and have been in a lot of more dangerous or crazier situations than climbing up a mountain. And we got through it all together, as friends, and as a team. If we can do that, we can do this too! Who's with me"?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Can't Back Down from Camp Rock 2~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aggie saw that everyone seemed to lack the motivation and courage to attempt this daring feat. Wanting to help spark their spirits, she got up from her seat, much to everyone's confusion, and sang a line.
Aggie: We can't! We can't back down!
She picked up a spoon and tapped it against a glass of orange juice to make a small beat. The sudden song seemed to stir everyone's attention, as Poppy then joined in with the Master of All Music.
Aggie and Poppy: We can't! We can't back down!
Everyone started to perk up a bit, listening to the song with intrigue.
Feeling a groove, Cooper and Prince D started to tap their paws on the table to make a small drumming beat to go with the tempo of the glass clinks. Trollex and Branch then joined in on the singing with Aggie and Poppy.
Aggie, Trollex, Poppy, Branch: We can't! We can't back down!
Riff started to drum on some of the cups and mugs, as if they were a drumset, making a catchy beat.
Everyone else was slowly getting warped into the song, joining in group by group, singing and dancing a bit.
All (leaders), Aggie: We can't! We can't back down!
All (Leaders and ambassadors), Aggie: Not right now! We can't back down!
All (leaders, ambassadors, and delegates), Aggie: Not right now! We can't back down!
All: We can't back down!
Then, everyone seemed to settle down and return to their seats, as Poppy aided with the beginning vocals while Aggie, inspired by the music, began singing the next verse to try and motivate the group.
Poppy: Ooh, ooh, yeah-eah, yeah!
Aggie: Don't close your eyes! We're all in this together, wherever we draw the line! We're not gonna straddle across it! Or lose it!
All the leaders started to sing together again, feeling the motivation of the song, and the desire to scale the top of Mount Yodelerest flowing through their veins and the infectious energy was beginning to rub off on the others too, who also started to feel motivated.
All (leaders), Aggie: We can't back down! There's too much at stake! This is serious; don't walk away!
We can't pretend it's not happening! In our own backyard, our own home plate!
All (ambassadors, delegates, and associates): No way!
Then, the ambassadors, delegates, and associates started to take over, singing the next part together as they danced with the leaders.
All (ambassadors, delegates, associates): We've been called out (Aggie: We've been called out!)! Do you hear your name (All (leaders): Yeah!)? I'm not confused; let's win this thing (All (leaders): Let's do it!)
We can't back down! There's too much at stake! Don't walk away (Aggie: Don't walk away-ay, yeah-yeah!); don't walk away; don't walk away!
Aggie: Don't get me wrong; I don't like confrontation! I'd rather we all just get along! Music should be undivided, united, yeah!
With everyone singing and dancing together, they suddenly felt a new sense of determination within them; they felt like they just had to show those 3 that they were wrong! The Normal Trolls are just as capable of scaling the mountain as they are!
All: We can't back down! There's too much at stake! This is serious; don't walk away!
We can't pretend it's not happening! In our own backyard, our own home plate (All (leaders): No way!)!
We've been called out (Aggie: We've been called out!)! Do you hear your name (All (ambassadors): Yeah!)? I'm not confused; let's win this thing (All (delegates and associates): Let's do it!)
We can't back down! There's too much at stake! Don't walk away; don't walk away; don't walk away!
Aggie: Don't walk away, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-eah, yeah!
Everyone started to move away from their tables and danced around the entire floor of the restaurant like it was a giant stage, fueled by newfound determination and the motivation to accomplish the feat of scaling the top of Mount Yodelerest! They were gonna go there, climb that mountain, and show all the MMTs that they could do this!
All: We got a situation that we can't ignore!'Cause ignorance is not bliss! We don't have to take this (Aggie: No!)!
With every big decision comes an equally important share of the risk! We gotta take this (Aggie: No-oh, no!)!
We can't back down! There's too much at (Aggie: Too much!) stake! This is serious; don't walk away!
We can't pretend it's not happening! In our own backyard (Aggie: Our own home plate!), our own home plate!
(Aggie: We've been called out!) We've been called out! Do you hear your name? I'm not confused; let's win this thing!
We can't back down! There's too much at stake! Don't walk away; don't walk away, yeah!
We can't back down! We can't back down! Not right now! We can't back down!
"So, let's show them that we can do this! We're climbing Mount Yodelerest," Barb shouted, as all of the Normal Trolls cheered together.
"We're gonna make history," DJ Suki exclaimed.
"We're gonna be legends," Dante shouted.
Branch then commented while looking at his Hug watch, "We're gonna be late to pack everything we can and head out to Mount Yodelerest if we don't head out now"!
"Then, what are we standin' round here faw? Let's haagh-tail it, y'all," Delta declared as the group ran out of the restaurant, set to get ready for their journey.
The chef watched them leave in confusion before he saw they forgot to pay for the food. Luckily, Poppy quickly ran into the restaurant, tipped the chef a $50 Trollar bill, saying, "Covers everyone's orders for breakfast, including tip, thank you," before running back out of the restaurant to join the others.
Once they made it back to the condo, the gang all packed their things and left the condo, taking the bus to the Trollnila airport. The Angler Bus couldn't travel the far distance it would take to reach the base of the mountain, and the Funk spaceship needed to get refueled, so they all decided to get to where Mount Yodelerest was by airplane: a place called Tripal.
At the airport, Essence used some of the money she had to buy tickets fo everyone to be on the next flight, and an hour later, everyone was in their seats, on a plane that was currently flying up high.
"I can't believe we're actually gonna attempt to climb Mount Yodelerest," Minuet commented in excitement, adding, "A new skill for me to master"!
"I can't believe how cool this plane is! These movies are super dope, yo," Synth said while adjusting his headphones that the plane seat provided so he could continue to listen to the movie he was watching.
"I can't believe Smidge and Riff were able to get us discounts for these tickets," Melody said while looking at her plane ticket.
"Good thing we happen to be well-known employees at the airport," Smidge said while resting back, a pink neck pillow wrapped around her neck.
"This is so crazy! And yet, so exciting! Hey, Aggie, when we get up to the top, you and I should share a kiss on the summit," Trollex suggested while holding Aggie's hand.
Aggie giggled while she blushed, saying, "Well, I am more than happy to help make that happen," as she rested her head on Trollex's shoulder.
Meanwhile, Sid was looking out the window, saying in awe, "Are you seeing this?! We're up in the sky and not even falling! What is holding up this crazy thing"?!
"It's called the advances ov technology," Buckaroo replied while relaxing in their seat.
"Sweet grubs," Sid commented as he sat back in his seat, adding, "Well, I am pretty pumped about getting to this mountain and climbing it. It'll be a piece of cake if it's anything like the rock wall. Plus, I want to do something cool if we get there to the top."
"What do y'all have in maand," the detective inquired.
Sid told the detective, "Well, between you and me, if we make it to the summit, I can leave a scent mark there, and then it would be mine."
"Hold up, ayy scent mark? What in blue blazes is that, one? Two, why," Buckaroo asked curiously.
Sid quickly covered for himself, saying, "'Cause...i-it's a game! A-A game I used to play with...Bunny Critters! As according to them, the highest scent mark wins," while nervously grinning, hoping they bought his excuse.
Buckaroo narrowed their eyes at Sid before saying, "Alraheet then...," while being a little suspicious about what Sid was talking about.
"What do you think a view up high on a mountain will be like," Dante asked Demo curiously.
"Maybe like on a hill, but a bit taller," the Rock Troll replied.
"Oh, it's a lot taller, as you say. Statistics have shown that mountains happen to be on of the tallest earth regions in the world, only second to those of the tall conifer tress," McJagger commented while reading a book about mountain climbing.
"Note: I am pretty excited to attempt this courageous feat. It'll provide us with quite the memorable experience, plus it'll be like a really big adventure. My mom has told me stories about some of the mountains she's scaled during her journeys, so it'll be like walking in her fins," Laguna mentioned.
"Hey, DJ, I bet you 5 cupcakes you can't hit Barb with a snowball," Val stated to DJ Suki, wanting to make a bet with her.
DJ Suki smirked, saying, "Ha! You got yourself a deal, Thundershock," and shook hands with Val.
Aggie and the Normal Trolls relaxed for the rest of the flight as the plane flew high in the sky.
About two hours later, the plane landed at the Tripal airport safely and soundly.
Currently, after getting their things from the suitcase carousel, they walked outside the airport and made their way over to the marketplace to gather all the things they needed for the big mountain climbing journey.
"Wow," everyone said while looking around in awe.
"Sure is busy 'round here," Holly commented while pointing to the many MMTs walking around.
"OK, so according to the list, we need four main assets for our climb: food, water, tents and medical supplies, and warm clothing," Branch said while looking at a small list he made on his phone.
"Ooh! Satin and I can pick up the warm clothes," Chenille said while raising her ahnd up.
"Yeah! We'll be in charge in making us all fashionably functional," Satin commented.
"I can go pick up some food," Biggie said while raising his hand.
"We'll join you on your little grocery spree, Biggie," Prince D said, with Cooper, Dante, Synth, Gust, Clampers, and Riff joining up with the blue Pop Troll.
"I always carry plenty of medical supplies in my first responder's bag, so we have medicine and first aid covered," McJagger pointed out.
"We can go get tents at the general store over there," Stereo replied, with Minuet, R&B, Holly, Smidge, Legsley, and Guy Diamond, with Tiny Diamond peeking out of his father's hair, all nodding in agreement.
"There's a spring I spotted down the street by the edge of the village; we can get water from there," Melody pointed out, with Val, Buckaroo, DJ Suki, McJagger, Low-Note Jones, Demo, Sid, and Laguna all raring and set to help.
"Perfect! And that leaves me and the leaders to plan out our hiking route," Aggie commented.
"So, here's the plan, gang: everyone gets all the things we are gonna need, and then, we'll meet up over at that Incredible Igloo place in one hour," Poppy declared.
On cue, their Hug Time watches dinged, signaling they now had one hour, and just like that, they split up, set to start the gathering.
While Biggie's group was at the grocery store getting food, and Aggie and the leaders were planning out the hiking route, and Satin and Chenille went to go get the warm clothing for the cold snow, Melody's group went to the spring to get water.
The group was working as a conveyor chain, where McJagger, DJ, Demo, and Val were passing the canteens to Melody, Buckaroo, Low-Note Jones, and Laguna, who were down on their knees, filling the canteens up with water and screwing the lids tight so the water wouldn't spill before they handed the filled canteens to their friends in the back, who placed them in their hair for storage until they could place them in everyone's backpacks.
"Keep it going, guys; we just have 23 more to fill," Demo said while passing another empty canteen to Low-Note Jones.
"This water is super fresh and super hydrating, so we'll never have to worry about getting thirsty on our hike," Low-Note Jones replied as he filled the canteen and then screwed the lid back on before handing it back to Demo.
Melody scooped some water into her hand, drinking the water she collected, saying, "And it tastes fresh! It's cold, but not so cold that it hurts my tongue or throat."
Buckaroo noticed that Sid was the only Troll who wasn't helping to fill the canteens as she saw him standing by a flat land of snow, calling out to him, "Hey, Sid! Y'all are supposed ta fill these canteens, nawht stand there lollygaggin'"!
However, Sid wasn't paying attention, as he was fixated on looking at the many patches of snow around the area. He had never seen snow before, so this was entirely new! He spoke up, asking, "Hey, uh, guys? What's this white stuff on the ground here"?
"That's snow," McJagger replied while he walked over, explaining, "It's actually a form of frozen water."
"Frozen? Like...it can get really cold," Sid asked curiously.
"Precisely," McJagger replied, before saying as he pulled out a book, opening it, "You see, sometimes when the weather gets really cold, water can freeze into something called ice. And up in the sky, in the clouds, the water that freezes can sometimes become tiny little flurry crystals we call snowflakes, and just like with rain, when enough of it is overwhelming the clouds, it then expels it out as snow, which lands on the ground."
"Woah," the disguised Flexi-Troll commented as he approached a patch of snow and placed his hand on it. He shivered, saying, "It feels so cold...and I love it"!
He then dove right into the snow patch and started to roll around in it, eagerly enjoying how cold the snow felt, which was surreal to him, considering back in his kingdom, it was always hot and arid.
He purred in delight while lying on the snow patch, saying, "This is so nice"!
The others noticed his excited state, who had finished filling up the last of the canteens, and came over, with Val saying, "Uh...is he on something? 'Cause he looks like he's got something in him that's making him act crazy."
"If it's pure excitement for rolling around in the snow like that, yep," Melody commented.
"I'm surprised he isn't feeling at all chilly, or appears tobe worried about catching hypothermia," Laguna added on curiously.
"Ay'm surprised he's gutsy enough ta be doin' that in shorts," Buckaroo pointed out in relation to Sid's attire.
Suddenly, Sid's fun was interrupted when he sat up and shivered, saying, "Brrrrrr, now I feel as cold as the snow itself."
"Which is why one, we normally don't play in the snow like that unless we get warm clothing, baby," Low-Note Jones commented with a chuckle.
"And two, may i ask, have you never seen snow before," Demo asked.
Sid sat up and nervously scratched the back of his head, saying, "Uh, well...s-since I've been locking myself up in my pod for..ever, I...never got to really experience snow before."
Luckily, the others seemed to accept his answer, understanding the circumstances, while Buckaroo appeared to be a bit...suspicious, narrowing her eyes towards Sid in confusion.
"Eithuurr way, she should start heading back, y'all," Buckaroo commented as the group started to head towards the Incredible Igloo.
Soon, everyone had regrouped by the Incredible Igloo to place all the things that they bought together and divided it out, so everyone got enough food, water, climbing gear, and supplies needed for the big hike.
Then, they all placed on the warm Eskimo parka coats that Satin and Chenille had bought for everyone to wear. Each Troll's coat matched their hair color, including Aggie's, which was rainbow-colored and matched each of the 6 main genres of music. The coats were thick and puffy so it would keep the heat insulted so they would all stay warm, and they were also currently wearing their hoods to cover their heads as well, and for the Trolls with feet, including the Classical Trolls, they were wearing black hiking boots, while the Techno Trolls were the only ones without footwear.
After they were all ready to go, they walked their way over to the base camp at the bottom of the mountain so they could begin their hike.
"According to the map here," Rhythm said while looking at a map on the brochure she picked up at the shop.
"It says that we'll make it up the summit in great time if we follow the south face upwards," blues added, looking over Rhythm's shoulder at the map.
"Perfect. Let's go scaling this mountain. It can't be that high," Barb said as they soon stopped, arriving at the starting point of their hike.
But when everyone saw how high Mount Yoelerest was, they were stunned, saying, "Woah," in unison.
Mount Yodelrerest was HUGE! Reaching up so high, stopping about only halfway up to the surface ceiling of Harmonious Land, and you could see the mountain load of snow that rested on the mountainside and even right on top of the summit.
"THAT'S WHAT A MOUNTAIN LOOKS LIKE," Sid exclaimed in shock.
"It's enormous," Clampers added in awe.
"Dang, that is huge! Even bigger than probably 50 of my daddys stacked shoulder to shoulder," Tiny Diamond commented.
"Or more," Dante added.
"Judging by the degree of altitude this mountain is, adding in the longitudinal and latitudinal measurements of the surrounding air, and taking in account the 50,000 ft measurement of reaching the top of the surface to the bottom of the floor here in Harmonious Land, I would predict this mountain about...," Laguna said while calculating it in her notepad, saying while adjusting her glasses, "26,832 ft tall."
"Hot dang! We're gonna scale THAT," Holly ask-shouted while pointing at the top of the mountain.
"Looks a lot bigger than on the poster, but we can do it, guys," Trollex commented, sounding encouraging.
"Yeah, let's just stick together, so no one gets lost," Essence suggested, with everyone gathering close together.
"And keep those coats on, everyone. The temperatures up on top of a mountain are just as cold as the temperatures in AnTrollctica," Branch advised.
"Funny, and coincidental thinking, considering we thought you'd all get cold feet," a new voice suddenly chimed in.
To the group's surprise, they turned their heads and saw that it was Diana, Jamie, and Aires Claire, and the three MMTs were also wearing winter gear and had climbing equipment with them. Standing by Jamie's side was a little grey male MMT dressed in the same attire.
"Diana, Jamie, and Aires Claire! What are you girls doing here," Beat asked incredulously.
"Simple: we are gonna be climbing Mount Yodelerest as well; it's our little "Group achievement" activity we planned to do together. Did we not tell you earlier," Diana replied.
"Uh...," Synth started to reply, trying to remember, but Stereo placed her hand on Synth's shoulder and shook her head,d signaling to him that the answer was no.
"Well, isn't that fun? But as you can see, we are busy on our own little "group achievement" activity, if you will," Val added, puffing her chest out in pride.
"Yeah, so unless you have better things to do, I suggest you let us be," Minuet added.
"Perhaps, maybe we can...make things interesting," Jamie then offered.
The idea seemed to perk the group's attention, with Aggie asking, raising her eyebrow, "What do you mean"?
"Well, if you Normal Trolls and you Ms. "Master of All Music" think you're so capable of climbing Mount Yodelerest, why don't we...race to the top," Aires Claire suggested.
"Both teams climbing up different routes, of course, but while trying to make it to the top first," Jamie added.
"And if you happen to beta us, we will leave you all alone for the remainder of your trip here. But if we win, which we most likely will, then, for the remainder of your trip, we get to ridicule you with no end constantly," Diana offered, saying, "So, we have a deal"?
Aggie and the Normal Trolls all looked at one another before Aggie declared, "Alright, it's a bet"!
"Yeah! And I hope you ladies like dust, because you'll get to be eating ours," Melody added.
"No way! My sister and her friends will easily beat you," the little boy shouted back.
"Who's the youngin'," Buckaroo asked while pointing at the boy.
"That's my little brother; I brought him along because he likes adventures, just like us," Jamie added.
"Well, we know all about adventures, so we got this in the bag," Cooper shouted back.
"Onward to adventure," Poppy declared as together, Aggie and the Normal Trolls started to walk up the starting path, beginning their hike, while Diana, Jamie, and Aires Claire watched them walking up, smirking confidently.
As the group started to make their way up the mountain, a chilly breeze blew right toward them, making the group shiver as they climbed up.
Aggie shivered a bit, but Trollex wrapped his arm around Aggie, which helped her a bit to keep warm as Trollex used his other arm to hold Beat close to him, feeling his buddy shiver a bit, trying to keep warm.
Gust was rubbing his arms back and forth and could see his breath from the cold altitude, commenting, "Gosh, y'all, it's really chilly up here."
"Y-Y-Yeah. We Country Trolls ain't used ta these cold temperatures, 'cept faw the occasional cold snap ever' now ayn' then," Holly added while rubbing her hands together and blowing hot air into them.
"S-S-Same story for us Classical Trolls. While we have our houses up on hills and perches, these temperatures make it quite difficult to fly through," Trollzart added as he, Dante, and Minuet were flying head-level by the other Trolls.
"How are you and the other Techno Trolls fine with walking in the snow without shoes? Aren't your fins cold," Legsley asked Stereo.
Stereo replied, "Well, I think it's because our fins are flat, so they're like built-in snowshoes, so it's all a'ight here, yo"!
"Times like these, I'm glad I wear a leg warmer," Val commented.
A little bit into their hike, the group made it across a thick patch of snow before coming across a really large ice chasm, with a drop so deep, it looked like it could go on forever and ever and ever. The only way to cross it was on two steel ladders that stretched out together, tied by rope, and was acting like a bridge.
"How are we supposed to get across that," Biggie asked while looking at the bridge, feeling unsure about if it felt safe to cross it.
"It doesn't look sturdy," Riff nervously pointed out.
"Riff, chill, I'm sure it's fine," Demo commented as he was about to walk onto it, but R&B pulled him back, saying, "No to the no"!
"You never go on a shaky bridge without testing it first," Blues commented.
"Yes, otherwise, you'll fall off it if it's not strong enough," Rhythm added.
"But how do we test it," Smidge asked curiously.
"We'll need to toss something that's light, but also heavy at the same time, so that way, we can see if it'll move or bend or break," Rhythm answered.
DJ Suki fished through her hair, saying while pulling out an old broken pair of headphones, "Here, we can use these."
DJ Suki gave the headphones a toss as it landed gently on the bridge, which didn't move, shake, or even jostle one bit, reassuring the Trolls that it was safe to cross.
"All clear. It's safe to cross," R&B commented in unison.
One by one, each Troll carefully crossed across the ladder bridge, slowly walking on it to make it to the other side safe and sound.
Suddenly, while Biggie, who was one of the last Trolls to cross the bridge, was crossing, he lost his footing and slipped, falling into the chasm below, screaming while hugging Mr. Dinkles as he fell.
"Biggie," Poppy and Branch shouted, reaching out for their fallen friend.
"Oh my guh, Biggie fell," Smidge exclaimed in a panic.
"Biggie! Are you ok," McJagger shouted into the chasm.
It was eerily silent in the beginning, but then, the group got reassured when they heard Biggie's voice at the bottom of the chasm, or as it appeared, shout back, "It's ok, guys! I landed on a large pile of dead bodies that helped cushion my fall! Mr. Dinkles and I are ok"!
"Disgusting," Chenille cringed in disgust.
"But very reassuring, Biggie," Satin said into the chasm.
"Don't move, we're gonna get you out of there," Aggie shouted as she focused on using her telekinesis to help lift Biggie up and back onto the snowy surface.
Biggie was very relieved to be back on solid mountain land, saying, "Phew, that was close. I saw my life flash before my eyes, and it made me realize, I need to hug more."
"Mew," Mr. Dinkles replied, giving, what no one saw, was a deadpanned look.
"Oh, Biggie, were there any mirrors in the pockets of the dead bodies down there," Guy Diamond asked curiously.
"Why would you want a mirror up here? Much less from someone's who's probably gotten rotting flesh on it," Barb asked, feeling a bit weirded out.
"Well, I have to see how the snow's reflecting on my sparkly complexion," Guy Diamond replied.
"Well, less yappy about skin complexion and more walky-uppy mountainside," Barb replied as the group continued their hike.
As their hike continued upward, they had to scale through the increasing amount of snow that was falling, not enough that it was gonna cause a blizzard, but it was still very hard to see through.
"Woah, it's really hard to see anything around here," Trollex said while struggling to march forward.
"And this wind is really windy! We can barely fly straight," Dante exclaimed as he, Trollzart, and Minuet were having a hard time fighting the wind currents.
"If y'all want, y'all ken ride on my back," Delta suggested.
"Mine too," Quincy added.
"Maane as well," Buckaroo commented.
Trollzart flew over to quincy and sat on the Funk king's back, Dante sat on Delta's back, and Minuet sat on Buckaroo's back.
"How much farther do we need to go," Prince D asked curiously.
"According to the map, we still have a ways to go, but we are making progress," Branch replied while trying his best to look at the map, despite the falling snow.
"Y'all are we ahead ov the trio," Holly asked.
McJagger pulled out a pair of binoculars and looked into them, trying to see if he could find Diana, Jamie, her brother, and Aires Claire. Soon, he saw that the girls were walking on a different path, and were pretty far behind.
"Hey, guys! I think we're winning! The girls and Jamie's brother are down on that ridge, far behind us," McJagger reported.
"Yes! We can still win this, guys," Aggie cheered, saying, "Let's keep moving"!
Suddenly, there was the sound of yodeling in the distance that made the group curious to know where it was coming from.
"Hey, is that...yodeling," DJ Suki asked while listening.
Some of the Normal Trolls were turning their heads, trying to find where the source of the yodeling.
Then, Low-Note Jones seemed to spot something in the distance, pointing while saying, "Hey, babies. Check that out"!
Everyone turned their heads and, while they couldn't make it out exactly, they seemed to notice silhouettes of what looked like some MMts up on a few mountain peeks, and the yodeling sound seemed to be coming from them.
"Oh, those must be the Magic Yodeling Trolls," Aggie answered, recognizing the yodeling music.
"Who would even risk coming up here just to yodel their hearts," Legsley questioned in curiosity.
"Well, up here, it provides the Magic Yodeling Trolls the perfect spots to practice their yodeling, which also happens to be the main cause, most likely, for the snowy weather. But not to worry, it's not so strong that it'd cause a blizzard, so we'll be good for now weather-wise," Aggie answered.
"Whel, that there's ayy relief, although them Yodeling Trolls does remaand me ov Hickoy ayn' Dickory," Delta pointed out.
"How much you wanna bet that they would probably have a yodeling match if they ever met," Val commented while chuckling.
"What's yodeling anyway," Sid asked curiously.
"Think of it like singing, but your only lyrics are variations of yodel-e-hee-hoo in different stanzas and verses," Branch answered.
"Yeah, somethin' laake," Delta explained before she did a perfect yodel, much to everyone's surprise, making the mayor raise an eyebrow and ask, "What"?
"When did you learn to yodel so beautifully like that," Poppy complimented.
"Yeah, that was so cool," Melody exclaimed.
"Yeah, yo! that was *imitates airhorn noises*," Synth said while mimicking airhorn noises.
"Wow, aunt Delta! Ay didn't know y'all could yodel laake that," Aggie mentioned.
Delta shuffled her hoof, answering shyly, "Whel, ay had ayy lil' help from someone who taught me," before the Trolls continued their hike.
Soon, they made it up to a spot on the mountain that was a dead-end, pathwise, and left only a huge rockwall that slanted up at the top, where it would lead to an area to crawl-climb your way to the top. To make it up there, the Trolls all tied their waists with rope and them used their climbing pickaxes and grabbers to grip onto the rock walls and slowly climb up one by one, gripping onto the tools to help pull themselves up. Once they made it to the slanted region, they put their tools away, and started to scale upward on the slanted slope.
As they made it up the slope of the mountain, it became nearly impossible to walk up the snowy steep because it was so steep and slippery. So, everyone had to resort to climbing up the slope by crawling on their hands and feet, gripping rock and ice chunks to pull themselves up. But that was no easy task either, as the wind and snow made it hard to see and move properly.
Beat called out, "This is so hard," while trying not to lose his footing.
Stereo shouted, "I can't do this," and grunted as the wind pushed her back. But Synth was at her aid, saying while helping her, "We got this, Stereo! Just hang in there, I'll help you," and helped his love with climbing up the mountain.
Sid was close to giving up, panting, saying, "Man, I didn't think climbing a mountain would be this hard, especially in all of this snow"!
Aggie shouted, "Come on guys, let's not give up! We just need to keep going"!
Gust held onto his hat while saying, "Aggie's raheet, y'all; keep pushin'! We're almost at that there top"!
Melody added, "Yeah, I believe in us! You all should believe in each other too; our support will fuel us," as she grunted while climbing up the snowy slope.
Aggie then heard the Pop/Rock's grunts as in her mind, it sounded like it could be...music. Listening closely while they climbed, Aggie listened to the beats of everyone's groans/sighs/grunts and matched it, in her head, with the sound of the howling wind, the flying snow, and the nearby yodels of the Magic Yodeling Trolls. It allowed her to let a song come to life, making her, to everyone's surprise, start to sing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~When You Believe (by Pentatonix ft. Maren Morris)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Instrumental, with the sounds of nature)
Aggie: Many times we've wished, not thinking anyone could hear. In our hearts, a hopeful song we barely understood.
Everyone heard the MMT's singing and figured that a song could be the key to keeping everyone motivated as they continued to climb, with the leaders vocalizing a tune to add harmony to the now-provided song.
Aggie: Now we are not afraid! Although we know there's much to fear. We're now scaling mountains together before we knew that we could.
The ambassadors, delegates, and associates began to harmonize along with Aggie's singing, except for Sid, who had no interest in singing but did find himself bopping his head to the music, which he secretly found catchy.
Aggie: There can be miracles when you believe! Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill! Who knows what miracles you can achieve (Rhythm, Blues, McJagger, Cooper, Prince D: You can achieve!)? When you believe, somehow you will! You will when you believe!
Prince D and Laguna soon both started to beatbox a beat to go with the song, as everyone else continued to harmonize and took turns to sing.
Low-Note Jones: In this time of need.
Dante and Minuet: Where hope seems to reside in vain.
Synth: Seems missing like the summer birds (Stereo, Buckaroo, Val: Summer birds!).
Demo: Too swiftly flown awa-a-ay!
Holly and Gust: Yet now, we're standin' here!
Melody: Our hearts so full, we can't explain.
Poppy: Seeking out our goals in hand.
Branch: We'd (Snack Pack: Never thought we'd reach today!) never thought we'd reach toda-a-ay!
Aggie: There can be miracles when you believe (All (ambassadors and associates): When you believe!)! Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill! Who knows what miracles you can achieve (All (delegates): You can achieve!)? When you believe, somehow you will! (All (leaders): You will when you believe!) You will when you believe!
Little did the Trolls know was that they were having so much fun singing and climbing up the mountain together, they didn't notice at first that they were getting closer to the top, as they continued to harmonize and sing together, with even Sid getting involved after feeling musically convinced to join.
Sid: They don't always happen when you ask! And it's easy to give in to your fears!
Riff: But when you're blinded by your pain.
Stereo: Can't see your way clear through the rain.
Buckaroo: A small but still, resilient voice says.
All: Hope is very near!
Suddenly, while climbing, Trollzart seemed to notice that they were almost at the top, making him stop singing to comment, "Look up, everyone! I can see the top of Mount Yoderest"!
Everyone gasped happily as Quincy added, "Then, we're almost there, everyone! Give it all you got and let's move"!
Together, everyone pushed themselves to clear the last part of the summit to make it to the top.
All: There can be miracles when you believe (Aggie: When you believe!)! Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill (Aggie: It's hard to ki-ill!)! Who knows what miracles (Aggie: Miracles!) you can achieve? When you believe, somehow you will (Aggie: Somehow you will!)! Now, you will! You will when you believe!
All (leaders, ambassadors, delegates, associates): *harmonizing*
Aggie: You will when you believe!
Just about when Aggie had sung the song's last verse, the Trolls used the last bit of energy they had to push themselves up and scale the last few feet of the mountain before finally reaching the top.
Finally, they were up at the tippy top of the mountain, and the entire view was glorious! You could see everything from up there, including all of Harmonious Land!
"Wow," everyone said in awe.
"What an amazing view," Poppy commented.
"Oh my guh," Smidge said in awe.
"Hot dang, y'all could see everythin' from up here," Holly exclaimed.
"This is so *imitates airhorn noises," Synth said excitedly.
"What a marvelous sight to see," Dante commented.
"Surrounded by snow? Up on the highest ledge of epicness? Going where no Flex- uh, I mean, no fantastic group of Trolls has ever gone before? What a dream come true," Sid commented in awe.
Melody quickly took a picture of the view with her camera, saying, "Mom is gonna love this"!
Laguna was also snapping a picture with her camera, saying, "Wait till my mom hears about this"!
Barb pulled out her guitar and smashed it on the snowy ground, saying, "Yeah! First Normal Rock Troll smash on top of a mountain ever"!
"Isn't this amazin', y'all," Buckaroo commented, saying, "The view from here is just plum incredi-," before they turned their head and saw Sid coming back after leaving a "Scent mark", making them roll their eyes and state, "Oh yeah, y'all are doin' that there scent mark gig."
After Sid came back, they asked him, "What's even the purpose of doin' that? Naw Troll evuurr leaves ayy scent mark; it's nawht laake anyone's gonna know."
Sid answered, "Whel, it's just to let them know I own this mountain now. It's not strong enough to track, but it's strong enough to leave others feel threatened about ever coming here, like a protection thing. And trust me, they'll know; they'll know that the world is now mine."
"By they, do y'all mean the "Bunny Crittuurrs"," Buckaroo inquired.
Sid nodded in reply, while the detective just rolled their eyes at Sid, still feeling some odd vibes about Sid.
Back up on the surface, in the Flexi-Troll kingdom, a stay Flexi-Troll was asleep when he felt a strange scent in the air and sniffed it. He recognized it was a scent mark, but didn't know where it was coming from, but all he knew was that the scent mark meant that now, no Flexi-Troll could ever go to where the scent mark was, making him comment in shock, "F**k, no way"!
"I can't believe we actually did it," Biggie shouted in happiness.
"Selfie time, y'all," Rhythm declared as she took her phone out, and everyone quickly posed for a snowy mountain selfie, smiling as R took the picture, and then texted it to everyone.
"How can things get any better," Blues asked happily.
Cooper then saw something that made him say, "I know one thing! Over here"!
Everyone saw Diana, Jamie, and Aires Claire, along with Jamie's younger brother climbing up to the top, and the little group was shocked to see that the Normal Trolls, and especially Aggie, ad gotten to the top first!
"You...you Trolls beat us," Diana exclaimed in shock.
"Yes, we did," Aggie replied smugly, saying, "Guess that shows you not to try and call us out."
"Because teamwork makes the Dreamworks," Demo exclaimed, adding a shout at the end.
"No fair," Jamie's little brother pouted sadly.
"Awww, don't feel bad, we only beat you by like what, 10 minutes," Val added, only adding spice to the "burn."
"And uh, I'd like to say you're free to insult back, but didn't you agree that if we beat you up here first, you three can't insult us during the rest of our trip here," Leglsey mentioned with a giggle.
"Yeah, boy," Smidge exclaimed.
Diana scowled, saying, "Whatever. We are already bored with being up here anyways."
"Let's go," Aires Claire stated as the trio and Jamie's little brother began to climb down the mountain.
That left Aggie and her friends all alone up on top of Mount Yodelerest, with Aggie saying, "So, what should we do now, guys"?
"I know one thing we can do-," Branch started to say before he felt a snowball hit the back of his head, making the Pop king turn his head and saw it came from Synth, who was having himself a laugh.
"You should've seen your face, Dubstep! You were like-," Synth started to reply before he saw a snowball hit his chest, and saw it came from Stereo, who giggled before she got hit by a snowball, courtesy of a smirking Satin and Chenille.
"Snowball faheet," Clampers exclaimed s she used her hair to launch a hunk of snow at Poppy, who got covered in it, before everyone broke into laughter and started a mountain top snowball fight.
Everyone was having fun trying to launch snowballs at one another and avoid getting hit by them.
Dante and Minuet worked as a team to create snowballs and launch them at the opposing Trolls that were bombarding them with a snowball barrage.
R&B were running away laughing while Cooper and Prince d chased them, throwing snowballs, before they were seen running away in a laughing panic while R&B were using special snowball launchers to launch multiple snowballs at the Funk prince twins.
Tiny was using a unique spin to toss his snowballs: powered by glitter toots, launching the snowball up high, and riding the top of it, as he ended up hitting Low-Note's side, saying while climbing onto the Funk ambassador's back, "Yeah! That's how we do it"!
Aggie and Trollex were working as a tag team, where Trollex made the snowballs, with Beat giving him a hand, before Aggie used her flora magic and made vines to pick the snowballs up and throw them.
Buckaroo was making snowballs and using their back legs to kick-launch the snowballs like rockets.
Synth decided to also use a unique spin to launch his snowballs: he would throw it up, and then summon a small geyser to appear and push the snowball towards the Troll he wanted to hit.
Melody was making snowballs and throwing them up, shouting, "Four," before Barb came and swung her guitar at the snowballs to give it an extra push, as Val and Demo were acting like defense, swinging at the incoming onslaught of snowballs with their guitars like baseballs bats, sending them back.
Mr. Dinkles was swallowing some snow into his mouth and then Biggie swueezed his worm, launching the snowball, as if he was a natural snowball launcher.
Sid was using another unique tactic too: he used his digging skills (one of his natural Flexi-Troll abilities) to burrow his way under the snow before chucking snowballs at every Trol he saw, shouting happily, "I love snow"!
Everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun and didn't seem to have a worry in the world.
Just then, Trollzart had a strange feeling something was coming, asking, "Um, would any of you happen to feel that"?
"Feel what, Trollzart," Essence asked curiously.
"Is somethin' wrong," Delta inquired.
Suddenly, the cold air seemed to get a little colder, with Beat saying, "Wow, it sure gets really cold fast up here."
"Yeah, but this sudden drop in temperature is a bit sudden, don't you think," McJagger asked while everyone started to shiver.
Then, Smidge saw something that made her gasp and declare, "Oh my guh"!
"What, Smidge," DJ Suki asked.
"Smidge, what is it," Guy Diamond asked.
"Guys, look over there," Smidge exclaimed while pointing up.
Everyone turned their heads and saw that coming their way was a big group of dark stormy snow clouds, and they looked like they were ready to bring in a strong blizzard.
"Note: I do not like the look of those clouds," Laguna mentioned while holding her notepad tightly.
"That storm looks like it's coming in fast," Quincy addressed.
"We should start heading back down, yo, so we can get to base camp before the blizzard hits," Stereo suggested.
"Good idea, Stereo. It looks like that's our only option, although the climb down is gonna be tricky," Trollex answered.
"Let's try to make it down as best we can," Branch addressed as the Trolsl started the long climb down.
True to Trollex's words, the climb back down from the top of Mount Yodelerest was anything but easy. Because of the incoming blizzard, the falling snow picked up and became faster and heavier, and the kind was blowing on them from the opposite direction of the storm.
Everyone was growing tired and weak, and if the hike was going to take longer than they anticipated, they would be in for a world of trouble.
"I can barely see a thing in this wind," Blues exclaimed while huddled up by Rhythm, who tried to help her sister keep her balance.
"The snow's so thick, it's like walking through pea soup," DJ Suki commented, holding onto her hood tightly.
Clampers was hiding herself in her aunt's red auburn hair to try and ride the blizzard out from inside, and the same was for Tiny hiding in his father's hair.
Melody was grunting in frustration, saying, "It's so cold, the joints in my prosthetic are almost too stiff to move," as she had to force her prosthetic to bend so she could walk right.
"How much farther? I'm so tired," Dante commented wearily while riding on Low-Note's back with Minuet sitting behind him.
"And we're so hungry," Satin mentioned while she and Chenille held their tummies while their stomachs rumbled in unison.
"Why didn't we pack enough food," Chenille added, groaning in frustration.
"Mom, our knees feel frozen," Cooper told Essence, as the Funk queen felt worried for Cooper and Prince D, letting them walk beside her and Quincy.
Beat huddled himself inside Trollex's hood while Trollex said, "We just have to keep moving; we should get to base camp really soon."
"I hope so, or else we're gonna become too tired and freeze up here," Aggie said, looking visibly tired.
Trollex felt bad for his girlfriend and offered her a hand, saying, "Want me to carry you"?
Aggie blushed, but smiled and gave a nod as Trollex then lifted Aggie up bridal style, making himself blush in the process.
Suddenly, there was a loud shout, making Poppy perk up, saying, "Did you guys hear that"?
Another shout was heard, making everyone look around, with Biggie saying, "Sounds like someone needs help"!
Gust listened closely and heard another shout, saying, "It came from thataway, Trolls"!
Everyone followed Gust, who followed the sounds of the panicked shouts. They came across a deep ice chasm, not like the one they had encountered earlier but was still just as deep.
They peered over the edge, looking around, before Minuet saw something and said while pointing, "Look"!
On a small ice cliff along the walls of the chasm, Diana, Jamie, and Aires Claire were seem sitting on it, panicking, and shouting for help, and they looked like they were in even worse shape, with a few scratches and brusies, and Diana's leg seemed to be hurt badly, while Jamie was holding her right arm, and Aires Claire was trying to soothe her tailfin.
"Oh my Troll, they look stuck," Stereo exclaimed in worry.
"We've got to get them out of there, or they'll die if they are left there," Riff addressed.
"Ay ken get down there ayn' help carry 'em all out," Buckaroo commented, volunteering themselves.
"Perfect! Does anyone have rope," Branch asked.
"Got it," Demo exclaimed while tossing rope over to Buckaroo, who tied a bit around their waist, before giving the long end to Holly, Gust, and Delta.
"Good luck, and be careful, Buckaroo," Aggie told the detective.
"Y'all ken count on me," Buckaroo replied while tipping their hat, before they began to climb down the chasm.
Slowly, the Country Troll made their way to the cliff, and cautiously stepped onto the cliff, picking up Jamie first, before she picked up Aires Claire. The last MMT to pick up was Diana, but before they could, the cliff started to break, and the force shook Buckaroo and Diana, who started to slip over to the edge, the Magic Pop Troll flailing and trying to stop.
Luckily, Buckaroo dove and caught Diana by her hands before swinging her onto their back and giving a whistle, saying, "Pull me up"!
just before they got pulled up, Buckaroo found a giant rock and, grinning happily chose to pick it up and bring it with them as their friends started to pull them up.
Delta, Holly, and Gust struggled with all their might because the additional weight of the rock made Buckaroo almost too heavy to be picked up.
Then, Aggie flew over to the end of the rope, saying, "Let us help! Everyone, behind me"!
Trollex followed first, standing behind Aggie, before everyone else were standing behind him in an orderly line, and grabbed onto each other's waist, and with their strength combined, they worked together and pulled Buckaroo and the 3 MMTs to safety, along with Buckaroo's new rock.
Back up on the mountain surface, Buckaroo sighed a breath of relief and helped the trio of MMTs onto the snowy ground, saying, "Y'all ok"?
"We are now," Jamie replied, still holding her hurt arm.
"Not 100%, but decent, and alive to say the least," Aires Claire mentioned.
"Thank you all for saving us. We slipped and fell down, landed on the cliff hard, and got hurt," Diana commented.
"Not to worry, ladies, I'm a first responder; I can help treat your injuries back at the base camp," McJagger suggested.
Suddenly, Jamie gasped, saying, "Wait! Have you guys seen my little brother?! See, we came back up here after we saw he had gone missing, and we were trying to find him before we fell into the chasm"!
"Uh, no, we haven't seen while we were coming down," Poppy answered.
Suddenly, Prince D seemed to see something, as she asked, "Hey, what's that"?
Helping Jamie, Aires Claire, and Diana to their feet, the group followed to see what the mysterious thing was.
Once they got close enough, to their shock/horror, it turned out to be Jamie's little brother sitting on a rock, huddled up, and frozen completely.
Jamie screamed in shock before she started to cry; Diana and Aires Claire doing their best to comfort their friend.
"Well, that answers where Jamie's brother went," Dante commented sadly.
McJagger checked the young boy's pulse before hanging his head low, saying, "I'm sorry, Jamie...he's gone."
Jamie ran to her frozen brother's body, saying, "Oh, my baby brother," and cried, hugging the frozen corpse while saying, "I'm so sorry! I should've never let you go off by yourself"!
Everyone felt really bad for Jamie Medina; despite all that had happened earlier, to see her mourning her little brother's frozen death, it just pulled on the sad heartstrings. No one should ever have to see a Troll mourn the death of a close loved one, especially if it was that Troll's little sibling.
"We should bury him; it only seems right, so at least he will have a peaceful clumber up here, and not suffer in vain," Trollzart suggested.
Diana and Aires Claire looked at Jamie, who sniffled while saying, "Ok."
Holly and Smidge dug a small hole in the ground, big enough to be the resting place for a little kid, and Jamie brought her frozen brother's body to the hole, hugging her brother one last time before placing him into the hole.
Then, they all gathered together and bowed their heads, sending condolences to Jamie's little brother, before they placed snow on top, burying him under the wintery snow.
Afterward, they all continued the trip down and luckily arrived back at the new base camp on the other side of the mountain. There, everyone immediately refueled with water and food, and McJagger tended to the Trio's injuries, performing some first aid, before a rescue copter came to take the girls back home safe and sound.
Diana, Jamie, and Aires Claire were resting on some stretchers the paramedics placed them on inside the helicopter, as Diana turned her head and said to the Trolls, "Thank you so much again for saving our lives."
"Think nothing of it, it was the least we could do," Low-Note Jones said while smiling.
"After all, despite everything, we can't ever resist helping a friend in need, it's not in our nature," Minuet added.
"You know something? You're all alright; you're all good Trolls," Aires Claire stated.
"We really owe you for getting us out of that chasm and for...that kind resting place for my brother," Jamie mentioned, still feeling sad her brother was gone.
"Hey," Aggie told Jamie, "Even though he may not be physically here anymore, I know your brother is looking down on you; happy to see you safe at least. And he'll always be there for you when you feel his presence there by your side."
The advice seemed to make the Magic Funk Troll feel better, before the helicopter doors closed, with the paramedics inside, and the helicopter was off on its trip to the girls' homes.
The Trolls watched it leave before it was completely out of sight, and now...they had no idea what to do. They originally climbed Mount Yodelerest to try and make it to the top, and beat the Trio there too, but...they had nothing else planned to do.
"So...what do we do now," Val asked curiously.
"Steal a car," Sid suggested jokingly.
"Sid," Branch scolded the disguised Flexi-Troll, while his "joke" earned few looks from the other Trolls.
"I was joking! It was a joke," Sid quickly replied, telling them that he was only joking.
Suddenly, Aggie got a great idea, saying, "I know what we can do"!
