They all look at their paper and on the family tree the only surprise is that Aunt Marge isn't actually related to any of them. When Vernon and Petunia see this they are thankful as now they can stop pretending to like her and her insane dogs. When they look at the back of their paper thats were Harry's gets interesting. His inner ring is full of names that are mostly faded meaning they are all dead except for three names, Minerva, Remus and Sirius. His black circle is also full of names though these names all look like they had just been written. When everyone sees this they look at Broadaxe as if asking for an explanation. He looks at it and after a minute he nods.
"Well I can't say I am truly surprised by this. Most of those names in the black circle are people who followed the man who killed your parents. The faded names in this inner circle are also not a surprise as they all met with us and deeded to you everything their house had left as the family lines were dying out due to the last war. One name we are happy to see and another we are surprised to see. Remus Lupin is alive, no one has seen him in almost 10 years and most assumed he had died in the last war. Sirius Black considering you family is interesting and will need more looking into. If you look at the top of the sheet here it outlines any house you are Lord of. This too is a place of interest but not just on his but on all of yours. Harry here is the Lord of House Peverel; this is a strange Lordship as it does not pass into every generation nor does it pass through a single line. No one has seen one in 150 years though it almost always comes from the Potter line and is almost never the Lord Potter as well. You Petunia if you look at the family tree have magic dating back to Merlin himself. This had gifted you a title in previous generations however under the current government it holds no political or monetary value." Broadaxe explains
Everyone nods before Harry asks the question on everyone's mind " Mr. Broadaxe what does being Lord Peverel mean for me?"
"Well normally it wouldn't mean anything beyond your seats on the wizagmont however as you are a minor once you take the house ring it will emancipate you in the eyes of the magical world. The muggle world will still see you as a minor. It also allows you full access to their vaults and properties. There are of course other things as well but those will be revealed to you in time as is tradition. Congratulations Harry you now own the most land in all of Great Britain magical or otherwise." Broadaxe explains
They all nod their heads. Vernon begins "So in the magical world he is an adult once he takes this ring. That would allow him to take the other titles he is entitled to as well correct? Can we get a copy of his holdings and perhaps a list of people who would be a good fit to hold his political seat until he is ready to take it himself." Harry nods his head at this.
Broadaxe seeing Harry nod sends a note to have all of that assembled before beginning "Very astute, yes he will be able to take all his titles though the peverel one is the most important as it carries enough votes to basically rule the government. It used to have enough to do just that but as houses have gotten older they have been allowed seats and each seat has gotten less powerful as a result. As far as a list goes I do not have one nor do I even know where to begin as I do not know your aims. I do recommend you get a copy of the laws and begin reading over them. Once you have an idea of what you want changed I can assist in assembling such a list. As far as his holdings if you will give us a week we can assemble the required documents. This family vault hasn't been accessed in over 200 years and as such we will have to do a full audit before it becomes active again. This will also allow us time to consolidate all the holdings and accounts under one person and into a single document."
Vernon nods his head in understanding. They all stand up and make their way to the family vaults. Everyone enjoys the cart ride down and they stop at the first vault where Broadaxe explains this is the Peverel vault and inside in the ring he will need. Harry walks up to the vault door and it swings open as though recognizing Harry. Inside he finds a single box and a weather worn leather journal. He opens the box and inside he finds a ring of simple silver with the symbols for the Hallows on it only they clearly are all separated. He puts the ring on and immediately finds himself transported to a great feasting hall like the Vikings he has seen on TV had. He is greeted by the man at the head of the table and escorted to what he can only assume is the throne. Once seated the previous Lords Peverel introduce themselves before finally the one who led Harry to his seat introduces himself.
"I am Ignotus Peverel the first Lord Peverel. This is the closest thing to Valhalla you will find on the mortal plane. We are all previous lords and all have things we can and will teach you given time. The family magic has accepted you though never before has one so young been selected. Please tell us about yourself so that we may begin to plan how best to help you in the future." Ignotus says
Harry does just that, going over how his parents died when he was 15 months old to how his aunt and uncle took him in and raised him to be honest and fair and stand up for those who can't do so themselves. "I am currently with them exploring my vaults. I hope I don't make them too worried with how long I have been here."
Ignotus smiles "Harry this part exists outside of time. Any future visits will not but this first one does. When you return it will be as though no time has passed."
Harry nods his head and they hold a great feast welcoming him to the family. Once everyone has had their fill and Harry has heard more stories than he could ever hope to remember he is led out and Ignotus tells him to take the journal as it will explain the house rules and why those rules are there as he needs them. Its also where he can make his own rules when he is older. Once he returns to his own body he grabs the journal and returns to the cart. They go through all the vaults grabbing books and money as well as a few pieces of furniture and a new set of china all of which is loaded into a bag for them when they finally get to the last vault.
Broadaxe explains "This is the vault we have set up for you. As you saw upstairs you had several people leave you everything while most of them didn't have much it all adds together to be much. Everything anyone has ever gifted you is in here. Also I do recommend you now take charge of your mail. We at Gringotts will happily receive it and scan it for anything malicious before sending it on to you through a small box. You have gotten all manner of things in the past. In here you will find jewelry, books, furniture, money, clothes, toys, all manner of things."
Harry nods "I appreciate what people have given me however after seeing my vaults above I do not need anything. I would appreciate it if you could catalog the books and if they have a duplicate in any of the other vaults to either give it to Hogwarts or an orphanage that is in need. Please donate the same with the furniture, clothes and toys. The money I would like to have set aside to be used later."
Petunia and Vernon nod along happy with Harry's mature decision. After they gather some money they head out to get a law book and some lunch. After this they head home for the day. A few days later after both Petunia and Vernon read the law book they decide they need to talk to Harry about what they have found so they sit the children down and have a nice conversation the end result being that Petunia will take his seat on the Wizagmonot and begin bringing the body into the 20th century. This comes at the perfect time as they had been informed of a meeting the next week. The plan is for her to wait and observe the body for a few years as they don't meet very often. Petunia had always been the observant one in the family, after all it was her who saw Snapes true colors.
At the wizagmonot meeting
The day of the meeting has finally arrived and the whole family decided to go and see how the government worked. At the door they are accosted by the security guards for not having wands.
"I'm sorry but only magicals are allowed in the ministry of magic. I don't know how you got in here but you will have your memory altered and be sent on your way." The guard said clearly thinking these people are below him.
Harry steps forward and looks at the guard "Do you have any idea who I am or who these people are? I am Harry James Potter of House Potter. One day I will take my seat in these hallowed chambers and as such I am allowed to bring my family to watch sessions. Now let them in before I have to talk to someone who actually matters." He says with more anger than he intended.
The guard blanched a bit at that "I am sorry Mr. Potter but rules are rules and if they do not have wands they can not come in, family or not." He says this thinking he has won.
Vernon steps up and puts his hand on Harry's shoulder before beginning "I would speak to Albus Dumbledore before you dismiss us offhand. After all, we are here on his invitation."
One of the other guards hears the back and forth and decides to intervene before it gets worse and summons both Albus and Madam Bones. Both arrive shortly to a sight they had hoped to not see today. They immediately walk over and make themselves known.
"These people here are muggles and they want to come in and watch the wizagmonot. I was just telling them they can't when they got all uppity at me Madame Bones." The guard says fully expecting to be believed.
Amelia shakes her head before responding "These people are here as guests of the Chief Warlock you will let them through and we will be talking about this later."
With that said they all walk past and follow Amelia and Albus into his office. "I am glad to see you took me up on my offer to attend today. I am sorry about the issues outside they should never have happened."
Petunia responds "No they should not have. While we can not change hearts and minds in a day we can certainly make it hard for them to continue as they are. I will be taking my nephews seats today and will largely be an observer. While we are reading over the old alliances and such it is best to see how people actually are."
Everyone nods and they begin to make their way into the Wizagmanot chamber. Once everyone is settled the session begins. The first order of business is any new people taking up seats. When called upon Petunia steps to the middle and begins "I will be taking up proxy for Lord Peverel today. I will be largely observing the people who allow for the guilty to avoid justice so that I can ensure this can not continue to happen. As many of you know house Peverel has been dormant for over 150 years what some of you may not know is that a Lord Peverel always sees change happen and justice served. If you have need to contact me let Gringots know and we can set a time to talk. Know this I know of the old alliances and I know of the debts owed." With that said she takes her seat.
