So, here we go again. Margygr vs. Ebirah. Along with their fight, there's trouble elsewhere on land. I don't have much to say here at all. I've included and mentioned various kaiju from the MonsterVerse, Toho, and even TriStar. This chanter is mainly focused on two fights, so I hope you all enjoy it!
North Atlantic Ocean, Somewhere Near North America
Margygr snarled as she circled her opponent.
Ebirah was terrified.
The Giant Lobster's eyes never left the purple creature. He was cowering and made no effort to hide the fear he was experiencing.
He was shaking so much that Margygr wondered how it was even possible to be that scared.
She roared, the muffled underwater cry making Ebirah shrink back, walking back along the seafloor.
Hmph. Coward! Come and fight me!
Ebirah refused to acknowledge her with any emotion besides the fear emanating so strongly from his body.
Ebirah truly was nothing but a coward.
He used to be headstrong and not one to back away from fights he could win.
That changed after he made the grave mistake of fighting Baragon.
The other kaiju truly had nothing to do with that situation. What matters was what happened during their brawl.
From what Manda told her, Ebirah had accidentally destroyed a small bunch of biped nests. The problem was that those tiny things were under the protection of Dagon.
Needless to say, Baragon ran off while Ebirah faced the green Atomic Breather's wrath.
He never recovered from that harrowing experience.
Yes, his wounds healed with help from Mosura, who eventually convinced Dagon that it was merely an accident.
Yet, the mental state it left him in was far different than what he once was.
Dagon is as good as dead now, but Gojira and a scarce few other Atomic Breathers still roam the Surface.
He fears their kind above all else now.
The fear the Giant Lobster has is irrational. Even the mere mention of Gojira's name nearly sends him scrambling into the nearest underwater cave to hide.
He also became a lot less headstrong in fights, and his courage plummeted. He can still fight well, but he hardly does so anymore.
Margygr couldn't believe that anyone could spiral so far down from what they once were.
If she could smell fear, Ebirah would be reeking it.
She charged, mouth agape.
Ebirah moved to block the attack, positing the larger of his two front claws in front of his head.
Margygr was sent reeling in pain as Ebirah hit her with enough force to surprise her.
The Purple Swimmer swam back, growling at her enemy.
She hadn't expected that. Perhaps the lobster does still have some fight in him.
Ebirah's high-pitched roar filled the water.
Not one of fear. Instead, it was a roar of determination.
He wasn't going to lose this fight.
Margygr swam quickly towards the Giant Lobster, mouth agape once more.
She bit down hard on his smaller claw. Ebirah screeched in pain as he shook the limb, desperate to throw her loose.
Her white teeth sank into him, drawing blood.
As the red liquid stained the water around them, she could taste the iron in the red liquid.
Then, Ebirah finally forced her to let go.
He snapped his claws, lifting them upwards in an attempt to intimidate his foe.
Margygr wasn't fazed. She's seen the same intimidation tactic from Ganimes and other members of both species.
She swam forward again, her purple fins propelling her through the water.
Ebirah leaped upwards, using his various legs to push himself off the ocean floor.
Margygr crashed right into the ground while Ebirah quickly moved his tail, putting some distance between himself and the dazed Margygr.
She coughed, spitting out a mouthful of sand. It tastes horrible. She grit her teeth, a growling sound coming from her throat.
You're going to pay for that!
Ebirah finally talked, for the first time in this entire fight. Go ahead and try!
Now only more furious, the Purple Swimmer rushed forward, her fins moving her quickly toward the red lobster.
Then, Ebirah's smaller claw latched onto one of her light purple fins.
She cried out in pain, but she knew better than to try and pull away.
If Ebirah held his strong grip and she tried pulling to get out of it, her fin would be ripped in two. For an aquatic creature, that would be a death sentence.
For the first time in a long while, Margygr was scared.
She was panicking now, unsure of what to do.
Ebirah clamped down harder, an angry screeching sound filling the water.
Margygr was about ready to give up.
She wasn't getting out of his unscathed if this fight kept going.
She panted, exhausted and desperate to get out of this situation. Ebirah...
The Giant Lobster turned his gaze to meet her eyes. His two yellow compound eyes looked at her.
Even if he let go now, Margygr suspected that he had already caused some damage. Even if it's just a few holes, that will still scar her.
She reluctantly started to call out, the sound lacking its usual loud or determined nature. She sounded defeated and weary.
I... I...
Before she could say the words she always dreaded to speak in a fight, a blast of atomic breath hit Ebirah squarely on his side.
The lobster cried out in pain, letting go of Margygr. He went right back to his cowered demeanor, his compound eyes filled with dread. He knew who fired that beam of atomic energy.
Margygr quickly swam away from the giant crustacean. She looked at her long front fin, the one Ebirah had grabbed.
The light purple fin has multiple puncture wounds and holes in it. No actual tears or rips, thankfully.
It still hurt like mad though.
She had heard from Manda that another kaiju, what was her name... Sekhmet? She uses her tongue to lick her injuries.
Sekhmet wouldn't do that if it was harmful. However, she never bothered to ask Manda why the lioness kaiju did that. Maybe she could try it.
She couldn't think of a negative to that.
Margygr moved her front fin as best as she could towards her head.
Inspecting the damage more closely, she could see all the individual holes in her fin.
They're not too big to severely limit her movement. However, they're also not small enough to be insignificant to her movement.
Wait... What am I even thinking? I'm not doing that!
Margygr heard a loud authoritative roar. One she recognized all too well.
Margygr.
Oh... Crap.
The King of the Monsters.
The Alpha of all Titans.
Gojira.
The Atomic Breather is right in front of her. The towering kaiju is so much bigger than her.
Ebirah was visibly shaking, and couldn't control the fear he was experiencing.
The one situation he always dreaded was happening. He is in the presence of an Atomic Breather.
And not just any Atomic Breather. The Alpha himself.
The only way this could be even worse was if he was facing Dagon again.
He would never admit it in front of the Alpha but was kinda glad that Dagon lost against Prime.
Gojira looked angrily between the two kaiju. He's familiar with both of them.
Ebirah isn't bad, but he's been reduced to an isolated coward after that incident with those humans.
Does he feel bad for Ebirah? No. Yet, for the Giant Lobster's sake, he better get this over with quickly.
Margygr is a whole different story.
She's not the nicest Titan. No, that's an understatement. She's pretty mean, bordering malevolent.
Margygr loves hunting, and besides Manda, she usually prefers to not have anybody nearby.
He has to sort this out quickly. There are much more urgent things he has to resolve.
Mainly, the issue of his rival. Ghidorah.
During his last rampage, he managed to kill two Jinshin-Mushi before a combined force drove him back toward the stars.
He shouldn't think about that battle. It was too complicated for even himself to wrap his head around.
Ebirah. Leave. The authoritative snarl made the red kaiju flinch.
After a short pause, he nervously chittered. O... Of... Of course, Alpha...
After that, Ebirah quickly fled south.
Gojira expected as much. He wasn't going to punish him. Margygr was the one that started this fight. Besides, Mosura was worried that if he so much as roared at him, Ebirah would die of fright. A bit much, in his opinion. Although, he isn't going to question his symbiotic friend. She is better than him at understanding the deeper feelings and emotions of other kaiju.
Now, to deal with the Purple Swimmer.
Alpha, I know what this- A snarl made her stop. She isn't in the presence of the Alpha often, yet, when he is mad, it is nothing a kaiju could ever forget.
Margygr. I've had it with you causing all this trouble.
The purple-colored Titan looked nervously at the blue glow on his dorsal plates and tried making herself smaller, growing a little nervous. If there ever was a situation when her usual demeanor falters, this would certainly be one.
The Purple Swimmer braced herself for another "lesson". All she expected was a harsh warning from the Alpha, and then he'd be on his way. She'd oblige... for a little while, at least. It wasn't her fault that one of the many Titans she despises just so happens to be near her.
No trouble would be her fault, maybe she would talk to Manda, and then she'd probably run into Na Kika or a Ganimes again, and repeat.
You're not getting off so easily this time. Margygr was drawn from her thoughts by the call from Gojira.
Gojira moved his position, and now he's standing on the seafloor. The other kaiju drew back, a bit frightened by such a sight. She usually doesn't see the Alpha standing upright in the water. He is tall.
Margygr. I want you to talk with Manda. The message conveyed through the sound left her momentarily stunned.
She questioned if she heard him right, yet his gaze and tone left no room for error.
Wha-... Why? Margygr was genuinely curious. This isn't a usual warning, yet it also is not a worse punishment.
I know Manda is your only friend. Perhaps... Perhaps he'll give you a better perspective or advice. I'm the Alpha. My words are orders. His words are that of a supporting one you truly know.
Margygr quietly acknowledged with a bow. She would listen to him. Yet, her mind is a mess right now. What the Alpha was commanded is nothing like she's ever heard before.
Manda is in the cold waters further north. Go find him.
With those final words in the form of a low rumbling sound in his throat, the Alpha turned around, pushed off the ground, and began to swim away.
Margygr couldn't understand what he said perfectly. Talk to Manda? Yes, the serpent is her only "friend", but why do that? He is different. What will he teach her? Be more kind? Odd... Well, she's not disobeying the Alpha, even if his orders are strange.
Before turning to look north, she had one last glance back at the departing Gojira.
His tail swayed through the blue water as he slowly became smaller, going further and further away until his black scales matched up with the darker and murkier water in the distance.
As he continued to swim away, Gojira lightly chuckled to himself, a strange call coming from his mouth. Hardly anybody would be used to hearing it from the King of the Monsters.
Honestly, he would never have done that normally. Yet, he hoped Mosura's plan would finally bring some change to Margygr's personality and lifestyle. She's the last Purple Swimmer on the Surface. Just one among many countless dying species, including his own.
There's himself, a slowly dying Dagon, and last he checked two other Atomic Breathers.
Whether this will work with Margygr, who knows? Yet, hopefully, this works. He'd hate for it to fail. Mosura would be upset that her plan didn't succeed. Moreso, if Margygr still doesn't change her ways, he may not always be so lenient.
Breaching the Surface, he was surprised to see a Giant Water Beetle. What is one of them doing this far in the middle of the ocean?
The beetle is using his legs to stand above the waves. Although, he is not comfortable being this far away from visible land.
Mosura sent me to leave a message. You have got to Behemoth's turf. Ghidorah's back.
South America, Somewhere Near Modern Day Belem
Behemoth roared in agony, three bolts of yellow electricity striking his back and side.
As soon as the bolts stopped, smoke rose into the air from where they hit. His fur is resistant enough to not catch fire and avoid most burns, but the gravity beams still had immense heat.
He turned his gaze upwards, looking fearfully at the Golden Demise.
The Devil with Three Heads roared, all three heads opening their jaws wide and three high-pitched wailing roars filled the air.
Abbadon cowered nearby, the scorpion Titan doing his best to remain as low to the ground and unnoticed as possible.
He and Behemoth could do nothing from the ground.
The two terrestrial Titans are at a severe disadvantage in this fight.
Then, Ni turned to look at some nearby clouds. He snarled, electricity crackling in his mouth, various yellow sparks indicating the charging of another blast.
Yet, the effort was too slow.
Rodan roared in fury as he burst through the grey clouds.
His talons reached forward, and with full force, he slammed into Ni.
Ni roared in pain as Rodan's talons dug into his face.
The force of the impact sent Ghidorah tumbling away.
The Fire Demon had bought his allies on the ground a moment to breathe.
Yet, he couldn't keep up this fight alone.
The Golden Terror is far more powerful than most individual Titans.
Even while being outnumbered, Ghidorah refused to retreat.
Rodan kept his grip, his red talons only digging further into Ni's skull.
Meanwhile, he pecked at one of Ni's eyes.
Again, the head roared in absolute hatred and pain.
Ichi fired a gravity beam, the electric blast hitting Rodan's right wing.
The Fire Pterosaur cawed in pain, finally letting go of Ni.
Both Ichi and San looked horrified at the current state of Ni.
He bore the brunt of Rodan's assault, but this was nothing like they'd ever seen of their flying foe.
Ni coughed up blood, spitting it out of his mouth. He turned to face Rodan, who was now cautiously circling them.
He roared in hatred, wanting to tear him limb from limb for what he has done.
San snarled, charging up his electric beam. He fired, a cackling roar filling the air as the electric strike hit his target.
Orochi cried out in pain, a chilling chorus of roars filling the air.
The eight-headed creature fell to the ground. The various heads of Orochi roared in unison, and then, all one could see was the fire.
A wave of orange flames lept into the sky, covering the Golden Demise in a torrent of flames.
All three heads of Ghidorah roared in pain as the heat seared their body.
Their golden scales are resilient, but only Behemoth's hide can stand against the flames the black dragon can breathe from all eight heads.
Orochi flapped his four black wings and took to the sky once more.
Rodan fell back to the other Titans, flying alongside Yamata.
On the ground, Behemoth and Abbadon watched as Ghidorah landed on the ground.
Besides Ni's missing eye and the rest of his bloody head, the Golden Demise looked perfectly fine.
One of Yamata's heads, the only one bearing blue eyes, made a chittering call. The sound was directed at his allies. I don't think we can last much longer here. He's too strong!
Behemoth glanced worriedly at Ghidorah. He hasn't attacked yet either. Although, the three heads are looking at each other.
Abbadon looked nervously between his allies and their foe. He's probably the most useless one here.
His pincers and stinger are only for incredibly close-range attacks. The Golden Hydra isn't dumb enough to get within range of his stinger. The scorpion Titan can't do anything. Orochi and Rodan can fly, thus they are the main two fighting the Three-Headed Devil. Behemoth has longer reach with his arms and tusks, but can't do much better if Ghidorah decides to use his bolts of electricity from the air.
Should we try and run!? Abbadon's cowardice was quickly picked up by the other three kaiju.
Behemoth quickly responded to the worry from his ally. No. We can't. Ghidorah will just pick us off. We have to stand our ground! The bellowing call resonated outwards and earned a glance from Ichi before he turned back to Ni and San, chittering in some unknown language.
Another one of Orochi's heads, this one with orange eyes, chimed in as well, his call sounding a bit hoarse. And what!? Wait for him to kill us all!? We've been lucky so far!
Rodan finally spanned, roaring in anger at his allies. All of them quickly shut up, turning their attention to the Fire Demon.
We wait until Gojira arrives. Our Alpha won't let us fight this monster alone. I'm sure of it.
The others were skeptical. Unlike Rodan, they are only random kaiju following the others of the Alpha. Rodan is one of Gojira's close friends, so of course, he has a higher opinion of the Atomic Breather than just being the leader.
Another set of wailing roars caught the attention of the four Titans.
Ni's injuries had all disappeared. Rodan chalked it up to the high amount of radiation in the area healing the wounds. That must be why Ghidorah came to Behemoth's territory in the first place.
The fight continued.
Rodan did his best while trying to dodge gravity beams and Ghidorah's jaws.
Orochi let his flames engulf Ghidorah time and time again, but he couldn't keep it up. One by one, the individual heads of Orochi grew more tired. Despite only having one personality and one mind, Yamata no Orochi works strangely with his eight heads, four wings, and four two-tipped tails.
Behemoth could occasionally land a few hits with his tusks or front limbs when Ghidorah was pushed too close to the ground, he didn't have much opportunity to do anything but helplessly watch from the ground or take the brunt of Ghidorah's electrical attacks.
Abbadon was utterly useless throughout the whole fight. Ghidorah vehemently avoided the scorpion, and aside from the occasional gravity beam to avoid, Abbadon had nothing to do. The stinger at the end of his tail was unused, and his pincers were free of any blood that is usually shed in combat.
Then, a sudden turn in the fight left the situation grim for the Earth Titans.
Orochi was hit by all three gravity beams, sending the black dragon falling out of the sky. He moaned in pain, his four legs clutching his chest as best he could, while all of his eyes were closed and all of the heads screeched in pain and agony.
Ni cackled maliciously. One down, three to go! Hahahaha!
When Rodan attempted to attack again, this time by passing claws swipe, San latched onto the tip of his wing. This halted his flying, and he cried out in pain as San's teeth sank through his rocky armor and into the skin beneath.
The head of Ghidorah then forcefully tossed him to the ground. Before Rodan could recover, he was hit by three blasts of pure electric energy.
Rodan screeched in pain as the electricity fried his volcanic body.
He was left twitching on the ground, barely able to move due to the pain he was feeling.
The third one to suffer was Behemoth. Ghidorah charged toward the tusked animal. His legs slammed into Behemoth, and then the three heads bit down.
Ni on one of Behemoth's tusks. Ichi on his foes' back. San on a leg.
Behemoth cried out in pain, the bellow echoing through the forest. As all of Ghidorah's heads bit down harder, his foe cried out in desperation. Stop! Stop! Please stop!
Ghidorah did pause. The brown-furred Titan looked at his foe, his yellow eyes wide in fear and panic. He was bleeding in several places, blood staining his brown fur as it flowed and dripped.
I... I submit... Behemoth bowed to Ghidorah, closing his eyes. He knew that this last act of desperation would be seen by Godzilla as a deep betrayal, but he had little choice.
This left Abbadon as the last one. He was the only one left in this fight. Orochi and Rodan were broken in their pain and injuries. Behemoth was looking wearily at his friend, his eyes showing nothing but regret, yet his body movements still showed that he was scared.
San said chittered, turning to face the other two heads. Uh... What do we do? I think we've ever had one of them surrender to us before.
Ichi calmly replied to San in a short yet clear message. I truly don't know. Let's deal with that scorpion first.
Ghidorah walked along the ground towards Abbadon. The scorpion backed up in fear, ready to attack if his foe made the mistake of getting too close.
He glared daggers at Behemoth. He made a clicking sound, clearly directing his anger at his ally. Ghidorah may not know how the Alpha system works around here, or at least he hasn't figured it out yet, but everyone else knows clearly how the hierarchy functions.
Behemoth you traitor! Coward!
This mastodon-like Titan only made a sad bellowing sound, turning his gaze down to the ground.
Ichi roared sadistically at his foe, deciding to give him one last chance. So... Abbadon, was it? Take it as this. Surrender like your tusked friend over there, and we'll spare you.
The scorpion kaiju let his instincts kick in. Most scorpions only have one mode. Attack until their foe either stops moving or they die themselves. Titan-sized scorpions lack this all-or-nothing response as a default option, but it is always there, locked away in their core survival instincts.
Abbadon let it take over. He had only one thought now in this rage state. Attack until Ghidorah stops moving or he dies. Abbadon rushed forward, and in a move, Ghidorah and Behemoth didn't expect. His stinger turned to face forward, and his tail plunged the stinger straight into Ghidorah's chest.
All three heads cried out in pain, but Abbadon quickly withdrew his stinger after injecting the vile liquid. It may not kill a Titan as powerful as the Devil with Three Heads, but it will surely cause something.
Before the grey-brown scorpion could attack again, a blast of blue atomic energy hit Ghidorah in the chest. The hit sent him tumbling backward. Ichi and Ni turned towards their rival, roaring in fury at the interruption.
Behemoth lifted his head, looking in surprise. Rodan and Orochi had lifted themselves off the ground after hearing the noise and were now looking at the new arrivals.
Godzilla roared in anger upon seeing the state the other kaiju were in.
Alongside him, Mosura flew nearby. She screeched in shock upon seeing the injured states of three out of the four kaiju that were fighting Ghidorah.
Yet, they weren't fazed. They had brought reinforcements.
Methuselah bellowed in anger, his roar echoing out as he ran up alongside Gojira.
Varan flew past Mosura, gliding towards them while roaring.
Anguirus ran up beside Godzilla, looking up at the Alpha with a reassuring look before snarling at Ghidorah.
Ghidorah, seeing that they were now sorely outnumbered, collectively made a decision.
This fight was now not winnable. The four against one earlier had proven to be in their favor based on their power alone against weaker opponents.
Despite Methuselah, Varan, and Anguirus not being the most powerful either, Godzilla and Mosura greatly changed this fight.
Now outnumbered nine to one, and facing two equal opponents, Ghidorah took to the sky, easily avoiding a slash from Varan.
Ichi taunted down at Godzilla. Too late, fat lizard! You may have saved your friends this time, but you won't always be this lucky!
He then left a clear threat as Ni and San flapped their giant golden wings, carrying them out over the ocean.
We will kill the next lone Titan we find! Do you hear me Gojira!? DO YOU HEAR ME?! You will lose someone!
Godzilla snorted through his nostrils as he watched Ghidorah flee. Damn him.
He just keeps trying to kill everyone. He doesn't understand how the Alpha system works. He only wants to kill everyone that stands in his way.
Mosura quickly began healing Behemoth, the brown-haired Titan looking sorrily at the others. I'm sorry for submitting... I had no other choice...
Before he could speak his mind, Mothra shut Gojira up with a demanding chittering sound. Don't. Say. Anything.
He looked in the direction of where his rival fled.
Ghidorah has already killed five other Titans. None of them were his friends, just random subjects. He has to stop him soon, or else everyone will die until that Golden Terror has what he wants.
Rule the world.
Well, I hope you guys enjoyed this second part. I'm not sure how well lengthy conversations between two characters will work in my writing style, so I'm just trying to avoid that. As always, I appreciate any support! Any reviews(minus the solely hateful, obviously), are welcome! Again, nothing much to say here, so I'm out! Still working on The Reign of King Ghidorah, so chapter 11 there should be out early next month. As for the next chapter of this, no ETA yet. See you all soon!
