[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]
{ Reinforcements (Part 2) }
5,000 dragons approached the settlement from afar, with most of them having strange visors that covered their eyes, yet not once limiting their vision.
Aside from that, the visor wearing dragons were too focused on doing this mission, something that seems suspicious for the rest of the dragons, but for some reason, they didn't care at all.
It's as if it's just normal for them.
Once they were in range, the artillery on the town started firing towards the massive army of dragons, forcing the dragons to use barriers or swiftly dodge the rapid barrage of energy blasts.
The barriers might have allowed a powerful defense against projectiles, but the barrage of projectiles were rapid and started to crack open the barriers slowly.
The dragons had already focused on firing spells towards the artilleries surrounding the town more, and it was somewhat effective. Though the artilleries were damaged, they can still fire as much as possible.
Five minutes have passed, and the artilleries and most of the walls of the town were destroyed, and the dragons were now able to move forward, albeit 2,529 dragons were already dead or knocked unconscious from having their visors forcefully destroyed, making them fall down to the ground and have their forms return to humanoid ones once they were on the ground.
The dragons surrounded the Town, and all of them were prepared to breathe destructive fire.
Until...
"Haa!!"
A blur passed through 50 dragons, and then the figure appeared behind those dragons.
This figure was Lock the 31st, who wielded a serious expression.
"So that's it, huh?" He said, noticing that the dragons have either turned back to their humanoid forms or dropped down unconscious or both when he cut off the visors that these dragons have.
Looks like they weren't simply for mobility or even for show.
His army was visibly using sealing spells and items that could help them subjugate the dragons that attacked the town.
But, for now, he had something to do.
Above the ground, the dragons were preparing a massive destructive breath barrage that his men would not be able to stop in time.
They weren't here to capture this town, they were forced to destroy it!
Taking a deep breath and calming himself down, Lock XXXI quickly observed the surroundings, even if some parts of the town were on fire.
He started to use all his experience as a scout 10 years ago when he first joined the Eikolnian Army, and noticed several leverages that he could use.
With his light body made for acrobatic purposes, and his skills as a spearman, he could potentially cut off all those visors!
He was confident he could do this, he just has to break through his limits, then prove himself as the fastest warrior of Eikoln!
This was no time for monologues, so he prepared, no, immediately sprinted forward, forcing his armor off and quickly tossing them with acrobatic motions as the weight of the armor was a sort of limiter for him.
Then, he kicked himself to the air above, reaching the height where the dragons were in just a mere second. Landing on one of the visored dragons' heads, he proceeded to swiftly cut the visor in half, before kicking himself off the said dragon.
It took him a lot of focus, willpower and energy to swiftly cut off every single visor that somehow forced or compelled the dragons to do these acts, subjugating them in the process. He was also very careful not to accidentally blind them.
This entire thing that he did was as if he was doing an anaerobic exercise, but even more intense.
Honestly, it was starting to exhaust him when he reached 830 dragons freed, plus, when this was noticed, he knew that the remaining dragons were going to attack him more this time.
He exhaustedly blocked a strike to his side, yet stood his ground and countered with a swift slash.
Then, the dragon which he was standing on did a barrel roll, making him fall to the ground with a loud thud.
"Defend General Lock!" One of his men shouted, though he could barely hear him shout due to being exhausted.
Lock tried to get up, but one of his men gently pressed his hand towards his back and made his back fave the ground.
"General! You need some rest, we'll take over your position!"
"...Visors... Destroy them."
He commanded as he started to rest and watch as his men subjugate the remaining dragons.
In the end, when the Dragons and their relative Dragon Kalars woke up, they were proceeded to be interrogated in a slow, non-violent way. They could not gain answers, and only vague ones, as if the Dragons and Dragon Kalars did not know
Although they have successfully defended this town, many casualties were done in both sides. 2,729 Lis Humans died and 3,183 Dragons died during this incident.

Meanwhile, Eikolnian and Dracorellian troops were ready to use a Double Suppression Attack on a captured settlement to recapture it.
