(Domus Flau, Final Day of the Games)
"Cheer up, you two. Both of you tried your best, so there's nothing to be sad about it." Naruto smiled uneasily trying to console his two friends as he slowly patted Laki's back, who was hugging him and bawling her eyes out.
"Naruto is right, and unlike us, you guys at least managed to get second place," Alzack said and added with a slight grossed-out expression on his face "Who would have thought that Hibiki and Jenny could even, uh... dance like that?"
Naruto, Max, and Jet nodded their head in agreement and felt their faces turn a bit green as they recalled the 'risque' performance given by the two Blue Pegasus mages...specifically, Hibiki. That guy was shaking his ass and even humping the freaking ground! What kind of dance was that?
"That's why I'm sad!" Laki cried dejectedly along with Vijeeter prompting the other four members of Team Fairy Tail to sweatdrop at their two teammates' antics.
"How can we lose in a freaking dance competition? When my magic is all about dancing!?" Vijeeter wept pitifully with tears flowing down his face like a waterfall and asserted "I'm sure the judges were partial toward Team Blue Pegasus because of Jenny! Yes, that has to be it!"
'Eh...we don't think so.' The four guys deadpanned at his reasoning–slash– accusation.
As Yajima had informed them yesterday, Laki and Vijeeter were called out by the organizers to participate in the first event of the 4th day. The event was called Showdown and much to the joy of the reserve member of Team Fairy Tail, the game turned out to be...for a lack of a better term, a costume and dancing competition. Where the participants had to wear certain costumes or dresses according to a theme given by Chapati and had to perform a dance routine in those costumes to impress the judges and the crowd.
To say that Naruto was disappointed and a bit confused about the whole event was a massive understatement. He was looking forward to the event, as it was supposed to be the final day of the Grand Magic Games he had hoped that the events chosen by the organizers would be epic, but instead, it turned out to be a dance competition of all things. At least, Vijeeter was happy with the event, since it involved dancing...however, the dancing mage's happiness didn't last long as he and Laki, despite a great performance by them was beaten by the duo of Jenny and Hibiki for the 1st place.
All of them were now waiting inside the entrance of the stadium, awaiting the announcement of Chapati for the final event. They had already been informed beforehand by the organizers that the final event was going to be a team event, minus the reserved member of the team.
"There's no point in thinking about it, guys." Alzack spoke again and patted the dejected Vijeeter's back "Instead of getting depressed about it, we should be planning and focusing our energy on the finale event."
"You are right...sniff."
"Laki, have I ever told you that you look kinda cute when you are crying?"
"Shut up!"
"Uh... sorry."
"Real smooth, Max. Real Smooth."
"Funny coming from you, blonde brick wall!"
"What do you mean by 'brick wall'!?"
"See, you are a brick wall."
"Both of you please shut up! They are about to announce the final event."
"Yes, mam!!"
(Line break)
"Wakaba, have I ever mentioned that those kids are sometimes really embarrassing?"
Wakaba chuckled amusedly at his friend's words as they watched the bickering group through the lacrima screen from their stands "You certainly have, my friend."
Macao let out an exhausted sigh and grumbled "Instead of focusing and strategizing for the final event those idiots have been making a scene for the past 10 minutes."
"Well...when have we ever planned about things anyway?"
"Fair point, I guess." The guild master chuckled a little as he conceded with his friend, as it was indeed the truth. Fairy Tail had never been the one to strategize or plan about such things, instead, they had always preferred to simply go with the flow.
"Though, it is kinda a bit downer that Vijeeter and Laki weren't able to win that round even after such a great performance, don't you think?" Wakaba asked as he thought about the result of today's first event. The two had certainly given a great performance and if not for Team Blue Pegasus, they would have surely taken first place.
"Indeed." Macao nodded with a serious expression on his face as he also thought back to the result...and felt some blood dripping down from his nose.
Noticing his friend's nosebleed, Wakaba smirked "You are also thinking about the same thing aren't you?"
Macao hastily wiped the nosebleed with his hands and nodded with a stupid look on his face "Yup."
"It sure was a great show right?" Wakaba asked with a similar expression and a light blush adorning his face, getting a very disturbing giggle and a nod of agreement from his friend.
"Dad, uncle, you guys are such a disappointment."
"Eh...? Romeo why are you saying that!?" The two veteran mages whirled their head to Romeo and gaped at his sudden statement.
Romeo narrowed his eyes accusingly at the two gaping mages and scowled "You two were thinking about miss Jenny's performance weren't you?"
"N...No..it's nothing like that Romeo-kun!"
"Yes, Romeo-kun! Your dad is right. We weren't thinking about Jenny's bikini performance or anything like that!?"
"Wakaba! You idiot!"
"S...sorry!"
"You guys are indeed a disappointment."
"Not you too, Kinana-chan!" The two mages exclaimed in disbelief and shock as they saw their guild's kind employee looking at them with a disappointed look on her face.
"Oi... why are you all giving us that look?" Macao nervously asked as he saw all his guild members looking at him and his friend with the same disappointed look on their faces. "Warren! Droy! You two were also enjoying the show, so you two don't have the right to give us that look!"
"Eh...? We were not enjoying the show, master!" Warren and Droy hotly denied the accusation, though it wasn't that convincing as both of them were blushing a little.
"LIAR!!"
However, much to their relief, they were saved from any other gazes of disappointment from their guild mates by the loud and excited voice of Chapati, which reverberated throughout the stadium.
(Line break)
"Here we go..." Naruto grinned as he saw the entrance open and heard the loud excited cheers of the crowd.
"Good luck, guys!" Vijeeter cheered and waved at his friends "Show them the might of Fairy Tail!
"You bet!" The five members declared confidently as they started to walk out of the entrance.
"It's finally here!" Chapati cried out as fireworks exploded in the sky "The festival that gets the blood of every mage pumping, the final day of the Grand Magic Games Tournament! Whether it be tears or smiles… we'll have our winning guild decided today." announced Chapati loudly as everyone stood up from their seat and all cheered out in excitement "Brought to you by me, Chapati and.. explained by Yajima-san, the former council member and finally our very own today's special guest the official Mascot of the grand magic tournament, Mato-kun!"
"Hello." Yajima nodded his head and greeted the excited crowd with a small smile.
"Pumpkin~" Mato greeted the crowd with his trademark catchphrase and smile.
"Is it really alright for you to be a judge Mato-kun?" asked Chapati.
"It's fine pumpkin! Everybody, do your best Pumpkin!" Mato replied cheerfully, prompting everyone to sweatdrop at the mascot...weirdness.
"And here we have it, The entrance of the teams!" announced Chapati as the entrances of all eight teams were slowly opened. Seeing the entrance opened the eight teams slowly made their way to the middle of the field as Chapati announced the current rankings of each team.
Currently in first place was Sabertooth; followed by Lamia Scale, Blue Pegasus, and then Fairy Tail in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place, respectively. Below them were the teams from Quarto Cerberus, Orochi's Fin, Hound Holy, and Phoenix Grave in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th places, respectively.
After the announcement of the rankings, Chapati grinned excitedly and quickly moved on to explain the rules of the final event "Now that each team has finally made their way to the field, let me explain the rules and objectives of the game. oh! But before that, Mato-kun, why don't to do your thing first?"
"Oh! Right!" The pumpkin-headed man beamed excitedly and cried out while pointing his ginger to the sky "Now let's start. FIELD OPEN!"
Just like during the first game, Naruto and the other competitors found themselves suddenly transported to the large city that had just popped up inside the large stadium field. However, unlike the first game, all the teams were teleported to different areas of the city right from the start.
"Hmm...I have a feeling that we might have to find the other teams and defeat them in a battle to win this round." Naruto told his friends, who nodded in agreement with his assessment as they also thought the same thing. Though, they doubted it was going to be as simple as that, the events of the Grand Magic Games were never that simple. There was bound to be some kind of twist in some way.
"Let's just hope that we don't have to fight some kind of big-ass monsters or demons." Jet thought out loud and blinked in confusion when he saw his friends giving him a deadpan look.
"Don't jinx it, dumb ass!!"
"Ah...my bad."
Chapati began announcing the battlefield as well as the rule of the Grand Magic Game's final day "Alright! Just like in the first game, the battlefield of this final game is also the entire city! Every guild has to spread out and wander the streets to find the members of the opposing guilds. If any of the participants meet a member of the opposing guild, they'll have no choice but to engage them in a fight!" explained Chapati "When the opponent loses consciousness or is deemed unable to battle, the winning guild gets five points added. Furthermore, each guild will meet to appoint one of its members as the leader. This is kept secret from the other guilds, if the leader is defeated the guild will gain 10 points. The time limit of this game is 30 minutes. However, remember that the maximum amount of points you can get from this game is 50 so all guilds have a chance of making a comeback and winning the whole GMG."
"Eh...? isn't it similar to last year's finale?" Max asked confused by the similar rules of the game.
"Maybe, they are out of ideas. Who knows?" Laki shrugged, "Or they might have decided to just use this game as the Finale event for every year."
"Meh...I'm just glad that we don't have to fight some big-ass monsters in this game." Jet said, feeling a bit relieved after knowing the objective of the game.
"Anyways, Naruto. What's the plan?" Alzack curiously asked the strongest member of their team as they all now directed their attention to the blonde.
"Hmm... " Naruto pondered for a bit and spoke "All right, here's the plan. I will be the leader of the team and will go alone to find the other strongest competitors of the other teams, as they are bound to the leader of their teams. Max and Laki, you two will be teaming up together and heading toward the eastern part of the city, as I can sense the members of Team Orochi's Fin are in that direction. While Jet and Alzack, you two will also be teaming up and heading toward the bell tower as I can sense the members of Team Hound Holy near there. But make sure to avoid going toward the west and north side of the city as I can sense most of the members of the top 3 teams are over there, and it would be better for us to avoid them as much as possible for the game. Since losing to them would widen the points gap between our teams even larger than it already is. Okay?"
Seeing his friends nod in agreement with his plan, albeit a bit reluctantly, Naruto grinned and excitedly cheered "Let's win his damn game for our guild! To Fairy Tail!"
"TO FAIRY TAIL!!"
"Who will be the ones to claim the glory of the top in magic!? The Grand magic tournament..." Chapati cried as the gong was struck signaling the start of the game "Starts Now!"
There was a bang as the match started. The entire Sabertooth guild split up since each of them was very confident in their ability. However, Sting and Rouge teamed up together as they had someone they needed to take care of.
Lamia Scale had Tobi and Yuka with Lyon and Sherry teamed up with each other in a pair and headed in different directions. Meanwhile their strongest member, Jura would go alone and soon he took out a mage of Quarto Cerberus.
Blue Pegasus also split up, but the Trimen would go with each other while Ichiya and Jenny would go alone.
The members of Team Fairy Tail also split up, with Naruto going alone toward the northern part of the city to find the mages; whom he believed were possibly the leaders of the opposing teams. While the other members of Team Fairy Tail went toward the direction in pairs, as instructed to them by the blonde.
(3 minutes later.)
"Not this guy again." Naruto grumbled as he felt a very familiar signature heading his way, at a rapid pace "Oh... It seems he is not alone, hmm...well, this just made my job a bit easier I guess."
After separating from his teammates, the blonde had been heading northward to take care of the Sabertooth mages as fast as possible, since he wanted to close the huge gap between them and stop them from gaining any points.
"Sigh...this brat got no patience at all." Naruto sighed in annoyance as he noticed the streets suddenly get a bit brighter and within seconds, a familiar beam of light crashed down on him from above; destroying a considerable portion of the street.
*Boom!*
On top of a nearby building.
"Do you think that got him?" Sting asked as he narrowed his eyes at the spot where the Fairy Tail mage had just been standing.
Rogue, who was standing right beside his friend too narrowed his eyes at the destroyed portion of the street, trying to see any sign of the Fairy Tail mage "I highly doubt that it would be that easy to get someone like him."
"Your friend is indeed correct, brat."
The two dragon slayers snapped their heads toward their backs as they heard the familiar voice of the Fairy Tail mage.
'How did he manage to get behind us so fast?' Rogue thought worriedly as both of them saw Naruto casually standing behind them with a mischievous grin on his face.
Enjoying the alarmed and shocked expressions on the two mages' faces, Naruto smirked, "It seems you two are planning to tag team against me, aren't you?"
"Like hell, we are!" Sting denied as he glared at the blonde "I'll be enough to defeat you. Last time you only manage to get the upper hand because I was not going all out!"
Rogue twitched a little at his friend's hotheadedness, as there was no way that any of them could hope to defeat Naruto alone. The Fairy Tail mage had managed to defeat Jura, a freaking Wizard Saint! and no matter how confident they were in their strength, Rogue knew that both of them alone was nowhere at the level of a Wizard Saint. Though, he was sure that the blonde didn't have any chance of beating the two of them together at once. In fact, their mistress and master had tasked them both to defeat the blonde in this event and punished him for mocking their guild, and both of them were gonna make sure to do just that.
"That would be boring, Ya know." Naruto grinned and declared confidently "I want to fight against both of you at once, as I want to see the true strength of a dragon slayer. After that, I will make sure to find your team leader and defeat her as well to show remind everyone to never look down on Fairy Tail."
"Bold of you to assume that you can beat both of us together!" Sting gritted his teeth in anger at the blonde's confident declaration "Even if you somehow get lucky against us, there's no way that someone like you could even hold a candle against our mistress!"
"Sigh…we have already wasted enough time, so let's start this over, shall we?" Naruto asked before making a come-on gesture with his hand "Come. Give me both of your best shots, and make sure to come against me with the intent to kill if you want to have any chance of defeating me."
"Tch… don't joke with me!" Sting cried out as he charged at Naruto, joining the open palms of his hands together, with all the fingers on one hand in contact with the corresponding ones on the other hand, and then separated his palms while keeping the fingers in contact through their tips. Light was then generated in the hollow part between his hands, expanding from the holes between Sting's fingers.
Realizing what his friend was planning to do, Rogue quickly jumped down to the street from the top of the building.
"HOLY RAY!" the White Dragon Slayer cried out completely separating his hands, extending them horizontally at his body's sides as the light he generated takes the form of a large sphere, from which several white rays were fired towards Naruto, who was then bombarded by a barrage of light beams which completely destroyed the building that the two were standing on.
"Not bad." Sting's face lost its color when he heard Naruto's voice from behind him again, and barely got time to turn around as he received a hard kick to his back, sending him flying to a nearby building.
"Shadow Dragon Slash!"
Naruto instantly turned his body around and extended his hand to catch Rogue's arm, which was covered in a dark aura-like shadow much to his shock, and punched him with his other hand, sending him across the street with enough force to smash him onto the wall of a building.
"C'mon, is that it?" Naruto asked loudly and moved his body out of the way to dodge a beam of concentrated light-based magic, a surprise attack from Sting. The White Dragon Slayer then continued his attack, turning his head around to make the beam go after Naruto, slicing the ground it strikes, creating a linear explosion in its wake.
"Well, it's time to show them something new." Naruto grinned devilishly then he suddenly stopped dodging the beam and raised his left arm, as steam started to be expelled from his whole body raising the temperature of the air around him rapidly and augmenting his strength, reflexes, speed, and durability by quite a bit. Though, it wasn't comparable to the boost that he receives from his sage mode.
Much to Sting's shock, still in the same position Naruto stopped the light beam with his bare hands and ran forward, closing the gap between them; when he was close enough the blond then raised his other hand and punched Sting square in the jaw, sending him flying across the field and then crashing into a wall, similar to what Naruto did to his partner.
"Man...I've been dying to try this for quite a while now." Naruto chuckled as he scanned the result of his punch.
"Amazing!" Chapati cried out as the two dragon slayers struggled to get up to their feet "Sting and Rogue, the Twin Dragons of Fiore's strongest Guild are being pressured by a single opponent."
"This man…" Sting muttered as he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and winced as he felt a burning sensation on his cheeks.
"Is that steam expelling from his body?" Rogue asked worriedly as he noticed the thin layer of steam emitting from their opponent's body. However, he didn't receive any response from his enraged partner.
"Oi, I heard from some folks… did you guys really beat a dragon or something?" Naruto asked curiously as he let Sting and Rogue regrouped with each other.
"Not beat… I killed. With these very hands." Sting said while raising his hand, his body cloaked in an aura of bright light "Now, how about I show you the power that kills dragons?" the confident smile returned to his face as the aura got brighter.
"White Drive"
"You're no doubt a strong opponent, but you are nothing compared to the power of a dragon slayer." Rogue declared as an aura of shadows that completely cloaked and continuously rose from his body appeared. The aura made his eyes change as well, leaving only his round, blank irises visible.
"Shadow Drive."
"Let's go, Rogue. Let's show this bastard the power of the strongest guild." Sting said as he glared at Naruto.
"It's over, you garbage guild." Jiemma, the master of sabertooth, stated arrogantly from his position among the crowd as he saw his two mages entering their drive modes.
This time, Sting and Rogue attacked at the same time, delivering their strongest blows at Naruto, aiming for his head and his body. Sting coated his fist with concentrated light, while Rogue did the same to his hand with his shadow, rapidly punching Naruto who remained calm and moved his body flawlessly around to dodge their attacks.
"Receive the judgment of holy white!" Sting said loudly as an orb of light appeared around his tightened fist "Take this." He then launched his attack at Naruto, who raised his right hand to block it and pushed Sting's arm to the side, making the dragon slayer wince a little as his arm seared a bit due to the steam that was emitting from Naruto's hands. The blonde then tried to punch the White Dragon Slayer's head, which he dodged easily by moving his head out of the way.
"Tch…" Naruto clicked his tongue in annoyance as he was forced to dodge Rogue's attack before countering with a strong roundhouse kick, but much to his surprise his feet passed through Rogue's body harmlessly as if his body were just simple black smoke. The Shadow Dragon Slayer then faded into shadows to move swiftly around Naruto, efficiently dodging Naruto's attack and at the same time and making surprise attacks on the Fairy Tail Mage.
"You cannot capture shadows." Rogue stated emotionlessly and thrust his elbow at Naruto's face, who quickly moved his body to the side and nearly made the black-haired mage hit his partner.
(With the Fairy Tail members)
A few minutes ago.
"Well, damn...Max and Laki are on a roll, don't you think?" Warren asked offhandedly as they saw their two guild mates defeating another mage from Team Orochi's Fin, quite easily.
"Indeed, they are," Droy admitted and turned his attention to another screen "It seems Alzack and Jet aren't doing too bad themselves," he said as he saw their two other guild mates finally defeating the two opponent mages from Team Holy Hound after engaging in a long battle.
"I just hope that they will be able to continue their winning streak." Bisca worriedly said getting a nod of agreement from the others.
"Look! Big brother Naruto just got attacked by the Twin-dragon slayers!" Romeo exclaimed while pointing his finger at the lacrima screen.
After hearing Romeo exclaim, they all turned their attention toward the fight between Naruto and the two-dragon slayers in interest. While wondering how their strongest mage was going to fair against the two opponents, though they didn't have any doubt that the blonde was going to come out from the fight as the winner.
"They suddenly powered up so much," Kinana said watching the battle with worried eyes as she along with the others saw the Twin-dragon slayers powered up and started attacking Naruto with fury.
"Don't worry Kinana-chan," Macao put a hand on the girl's shoulder and smile "That brat is going to be alright. It may be hard to believe, but from what I can see he isn't even trying to beat them at all instead he is just toying with them."
"Yep, that brat had already defeated Jura, and though the twin-dragon slayers are an undoubtedly strong opponent, they are nothing compared to the likes of Jura." Wakaba nodded his head in agreement. Overall from the moment Sting and Rogue activated their amplification technique, all Naruto did was dodge and made some simple punches and kicks. Naruto still hadn't used the powers he showed them during his battle with Jura and seeing how the fight was going so far, the veteran mage doubted the blonde would even have to go that far.
However, most of the spectators and all members of the Sabertooth Team were still thinking that Sting and Rogue were having the upper hand in the fight.
"Stop dodging, big brother!" Asuka cried out loudly for her big brother "Kick their asses quickly!"
(Back to the Fight)
"You just got lucky against Jura before, and you dare think that you can get to our mistress?" Sting asked with a laugh as he increased the power of his attack "this little power?" Sting focused a large amount of his magic into his fist and punched Naruto, who was forced to cross his arm in an X-shape to block his attack. The force, however, was still enough to push Naruto back several feet "This little heat is getting annoying." Sting growled as he felt his fist burn a little during the contact.
"We are going to make sure to teach you a lesson for daring to look down on us." Rogue stated calmly as he stood beside his partner.
"Me?" Naruto asked, to everyone's shock there wasn't even a scratch on his arm, other than the slight tear on his jacket sleeves "Look down on you two?" his smirk widened even further "I wouldn't ever dare to look down on anybody even if they are miles weaker than me. I was just testing you on how much beating can you both take from me and I would have to say I'm impressed."
His comment enraged the two dragon slayers and was about to charge at Naruto, but halted when they saw the blonde jump backward at the roof of a nearby building.
"Get back down here!" Sting yelled angrily and asked, "Did you got scared by our power!?"
"Not at all, I just wanted to ask you two a question before we continue with the fight." Naruto told the two mages and folded his arms on his chest "Tell me, why do you guys want to grow stronger?"
"What kind of dumb question is that?" Rogue glared at the blonde, finding the question uninteresting.
"Come on, just humor me here, if you two want to continue the fight." Naruto said and asked again "Tell me, why do you guys want to grow stronger?"
"Grr..." Sting growled at the question but decided to simply answer his fellow blonde "We want to grow stronger to show everyone the might of our guild!" with Rogue giving a nod of agreement with his friend's answer.
"That's it?" Naruto quirked his eyebrow at the two mages' answer and let out a sigh when he saw them nod in confirmation "Well, I would say I'm quite disappointed by your answers. Since you two seemed like decent guys and quite strong as well for your age, I was hoping that you two would give me some other answer. If this is your only motive to grow stronger, then I hate to break it to you... you two are never going to defeat me even in a million years."
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?" Sting cried out and jumped at the roof of the building before bending his right arm backward, the fist clenched and extending frontwards a mildly bent left arm with tiny streaks of light gathering before the outstretched fingers from the surrounding area. He then rushed towards Naruto and punched him with his right hand, which was now covered in a very massive, horizontal column of light. "
"Holy Nova!"
This spell created a large, impressive explosion on contact that destroyed a large area of the city, shaking the entire Domus Flau with its incredible power.
"Is that it?" Sting's face once again lost its color when he saw his fist caught in Naruto's steam-covered hand, the blonde standing completely unfazed by one of his strongest attacks as large amounts of steam expelled from the shinobi's body. The dragon slayer gritted his teeth in pain as he felt his fist burn due to the heat generated by the steams and before he could react, Naruto pulled Sting toward him and thrust his elbow into the young man's face, sending him flying back with a probably broken nose.
(Up in the stands)
Unknown to the three fighters, the entire stadium crowd was giving all their attention to their battle, completely ignoring the other battles that were taking place all over the city.
"Damn! that surely gotta hurt." Warren winced as they saw the white dragon slayer whacked across the street by their ace.
"I think big brother is now finally getting serious." Asuka grinned excitedly.
"How do you know that?" Bisca curiously asked her daughter. Even the other guild mates were quite curious about the girl's claim.
"Just look at the amount of steam he is emitting, he once told me that his strength increases when he emits a lot of steam from his body and now he is emitting a lot!" Asuka excitedly explained to her mother, remembering the time when her brother had told her about his awesome abilities.
Hearing the little girl's explanation about their ace ability, the other fairy tail members nodded in understanding, while some of them gaped at the explanation.
"Does it means that... he wasn't going all out against Jura!?" Droy exclaimed in disbelief they now all realized that Naruto hadn't even used this steam magic against the Wizard Saint.
(Back to the Fight)
Seeing his friend in danger, Rogue quickly got into action and immediately came to his rescue, using the same shadow technique to move around and avoid Naruto's punches. However, as soon as he made the first attack his fist was caught by the older man, whose grip then tightened around his wrist to a painful level making him cry out in pain as his wrist started to burn from the steam.
"This trick won't work on me again." Naruto said then slammed his fist into Rogue's gut before sending a barrage of punches toward the shadow dragon slayer's body, smashing him back and forth before increasing the steam around his fist a little and delivering a straight, but powerful punch to his chest, sending him after his partner as both of them crashed on the ground several meters before coming to stop, breathing heavily and painfully because of the serious beating they just received and because of the burns that were now charring their hands.
Old man Yajima had once told him that Dragon Slayers were quite durable and Naruto have to admit that the old man wasn't kidding or exaggerating at all. Since, even after receiving that much physical beating from him the two dragon slayers only got a few bruises, some broken bones, and some burn marks. Naruto was sure that any other mages would be completely wiped out if they received a similar beating from him.
"The levels are far too different." Chapati cried "Who could have expected this? Sabertooth's twin dragons can't even lift a finger before the might of Fairy Tail… Will this match end just like this? Or will they also fall against the might of Naruto Uzumaki like Jura!?"
"Does he really have to mention Jura?" Naruto grumbled in annoyance and took a stance as he noticed the two dragon slayers slowly getting back to their feet.
"God damn it!" Sting gritted his teeth as he pushed himself up once again "The match isn't over yet…"
"As if it ends like this…" Rogue muttered as he started standing up, trying to control his breathing.
"It infuriates me, for having to show our full power against someone from such a weak guild." Sting growled as his whole body got cloaked in an aura of light even more brilliant than that generated by White Drive, with pure white scales appearing to cover the outer edges of his face and extending down from the side of his neck to the rest of his body "In this form, there's no way that you can even hope to touch us."
Beside him, Rogue body also became much more akin to an actual Shadow Dragon's, with his whole body becoming covered in an aura of shadows even thicker and darker than that provided by Shadow Drive, and with thick dark intricate scale-like patterns appearing to cover the outer edges of his face, underneath and around his eyes, extending down from the side of his neck and onto the rest of his body.
"Hmm... that's quite an interesting power-up," Naruto muttered as he curiously observed the new forms of the two dragon slayers. He must admit that they kinda looked cool in their new form, but not as cool as his and Kurama's Six path sage mode.
"Stay back Rogue," Sting stepped forward and glared at Naruto who simply quirked his eyebrow at the bold claim."I will be enough against him." Sting stated confidently and engulfed his entire body into holy light. All around the Domus Flau, everyone was surprised at his declaration, and with the power, he was displaying they could see that he wasn't joking about taking Naruto on his own "Dragon Force is the same as the dragon's power, nothing excels it in this world."
A confident Sting then shot forward with high speed, which was even greater than before because of his Dragon Force "Hahh!" The White Dragon Slayer made a straight punch toward Naruto's head, but the Fairy Tail mage had already dodged underneath it and grabbed Sting's arm with one hand, bringing the other back with his palm facing forward.
"This fight has been exciting so far, but it's time to wrap this up," Naruto grinned at the shocked dragon slayer as a rapidly spinning ball of blue energy formed on his right palm, and the steam that was emitting from the blonde rapidly got sucked into the spinning blue ball, giving it a much lighter color.
"Boil Release: Rasengan!"
Naruto yelled and then thrust the steam-powered Rasengan straight into Sting's gut. The white dragon slayer cried out in pain as Naruto continued to grind it into his body, severely damaging and scorching the dragon scales around his stomach.
"Sting!" Rogue cried out in horror at his friend's roar of pain and tried to aid him, but before he could take a single step, the orb of energy in Naruto's hand exploded, causing a sudden burst of spinning hot air that catapulted the White Dragon Slayer backward in a tornado of air pressure. As Sting flew across their battlefield, the cobbled stone street underneath him was torn apart by the trailing vortex of wind and steam, and finally, he was smashed into the wall behind him with such force that it crumbled to pieces because of the strong impact.
"Just surrender now, guys." Naruto sighed as the steam around him slowly dissipated and advised the mages, "I don't want to hurt you two anymore, unnecessarily."
"Damn you! Stop looking down on us!" Rogue roared and then took a deep breath before releasing a large burst of shadows from his mouth "Shadow Dragon..." However, before Rogue could even complete his spell, Naruto flickered away from his spot and appeared behind the shadow dragon slayer with his fist cocked back.
"Your enemy won't ever wait for you to complete a long ass spell, brat," Naruto told the dragon slayer, before punching Rogue on his back with great force, knocking him away into a nearby building. If it wasn't for their dragon scales, Sting and Rogue would have been knocked unconscious at that time "Make sure that your opponent is busy with other things or they are slower than you, if you want to attack with such long-ass spells!"
"How dare you lecture us like that!?" Sting roared, finding the way Naruto was treating them infuriating, and forcefully pushed himself up and charged at Naruto, Rogue soon joined him in the fight, and both attacked Naruto at the same time, throwing a barrage of punches and kicks blindly at Naruto, who simply dodged them all, appearing to be not trying that hard in doing so even without his boil release.
After a few seconds of letting them be in the offense, Naruto suddenly took a jump by pushing his hand on Sting and Rogue's wrists when the two dragon slayers tried to punch him, twisting his body around in the air and delivering two hard kicks to the side of their head, knocking them back slightly.
Rogue quickly recovered and suddenly appeared behind Naruto, using his shadow travel power and going for a kick at the back of his head but much to everyone's shock and amazement, Naruto suddenly vanished from his spot in an orange flash and appeared above the shocked Rogue before planting the mage head to the ground with an axe kick on his head, creating a small crack in the ground due to the force of the kick.
Unbeknownst, to the two dragon slayers, Naruto had already marked them both with his Hiraishin seal behind their necks as he wanted to quickly end the match before he end up gravely injuring them.
"Rogue!" Sting cried out in panic as he saw his friend getting smacked to the ground.
"Never keep your eyes off the enemy and keep your senses on high alert, especially when you're facing someone tricky like me", stated Naruto in a whisper after teleporting behind the white dragon slayer, whose eyes widened before he felt an excruciating pain in his back, the result of Naruto planting a hard punch at the back of his head, sending him flying towards the wall of a building at high speeds.
'Shit! How is he appearing behind us like that?' The white dragon slayer thought in distress as he hadn't seen the blonde using the knives that he had used during his fight against Jura. So how was the blonde appearing behind them like that? However, before he could think of an answer or even react, five Naruto suddenly appeared in front of him.
"U" One of them then gave him a hard uppercut to his jaw sending him upwards in midair.
"-ZU-" The next clone followed and twisted his body in around to kick Sting further into the air.
"-MA-" Then came the next clone, using his partner's body to push himself into the air and planting a hard kick into the white dragon slayer's gut.
"-KI!" finished the fourth clone as he launched Sting even higher than before with a kick to his jaw, to the place where the original Naruto was waiting.
"NARUTO BARRAGE!" Naruto finished the aggressive combo with a rotating heel drop, throwing him down to the ground with enough force to create a small crater
Naruto was about to form a Rasengan to finish off the fight, when suddenly Rogue appeared between him and his comrade, sending a strong uppercut to Naruto's jaw, which he dodged and had to use the body flicker jutsu to avoid the shadow beams that shot out from the Shadow dragon slayer's fingertips.
"STING!" Rogue cried out for his partner as he brought his hand back, releasing an incredible amount of shadow from his fist.
"Y...yeah..." The White dragon slayer muttered and shakily stood up, understanding what his friend was planning "Let's end this…" Sting made the same stance and unleashed all of his power into a massive orb of light, equal to Rogue in power. They then placed their palms together, and a third orb of united energy formed, growing immensely as more rage surged through their bodies.
"So they are planning to end this with their strongest spell, eh?" Naruto sighed in annoyance as he sense the power surging from the two dragon slayers' spell and decided to treat them with the same courtesy since he now knew that their bodies will be able to handle it...well some of it.
'I haven't used this for quite a while now, but I think it would help me to make a grand statement.' Naruto internally thought as a Rasengan appeared in his palm and started producing four large points of energy-like blades that spun around the core, the blades giving the Rasengan the appearance of a large white Shuriken.
"What is that attack?" Macao asked in awe as they saw the wind around Naruto start picking up and slowly getting pulled into the sphere.
"It seems, he really wants to show off a bit this time." Yajima chuckled as he noticed the crowd looking at the blonde's attack in awe and shock.
"Unison Raid!" Sting and Rogue cried out and punched their fist forward together, releasing their magic as a combined burst of the aforementioned light and shadows.
"Wind Release: Rasenshuriken!" Naruto cried out and then cocked his arm back further before throwing his attack at the incoming blast and colliding with it shortly after, making a powerful explosion that shook the entire Domus Flau and destroyed a large portion of the fake city.
As the dust finally settled, the crowd gaped in awe as they saw who had managed to walk out from the fight as the winner.
"Phew...this shit is finally over." Naruto breathe out a sigh of relief as he saw the unconscious form of the two dragon slayers, just a few feet away from him.
"Darn it, I wasted too much time against them." he groaned realizing that a lot of time has passed during the fight.
"Wait..."
Naruto blinked when he heard Sting's voice, and was surprised to realize that the White Dragon slayer was somehow still conscious even after his Rasenshuriken, granted, they were only hit by the shockwave of the explosion but still...
"...how are you...so strong?"
"Well..." Naruto was about to answer the question but halted and felt his eyebrows twitch a little in annoyance when he saw that the dragon slayer was now unconscious after asking that question "How rude, he should have at least listened to my cool answer before sleeping."
"T-TH-This is…" Chapati stuttered before crying out loudly, the crowd followed him shortly after to cheer out in excitement "This is Fairy TAIL! Naruto Uzumaki has beaten the two Dragon Slayers! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DISPLAY OF POWER!"
(Up in the stands)
"That was so cool!" Romeo exclaimed in amazement as they saw Naruto had singlehandedly beaten the two dragon slayers. Granted, they had never doubted that he was going to lose the match or anything.
"Hey, guys...where is Laki?" Droy asked in worry as he couldn't see the girl on any of the lacrima screens.
While they had been fully focused on the fight between Naruto and the Twin Dragon slayers, their other 3 guildmates Max, Alzack, and Jet were defeated by some other team as they now saw the notice on the screen. However, much to their concern they now realized that Laki was nowhere to be found in the city, nor they could see her name on the screen where the names of the still undefeated participants were shown.
"She is still in the competition isn't she?" Wakaba asked as they all try to figure out where the girl was. Honestly, they all felt quite ashamed that they had completely forgotten about the others as they were too engrossed with Naruto's fight.
"I hope she's okay."
(Back with Naruto)
"Now...which way should I go?" Naruto mulled over his options for his next opponent as he started wandering the destroyed street, after leaving behind the two unconscious dragon slayers.
After a few moments, Naruto stopped walking as he saw a purple portal appear in front of him and quirked his eyebrow in curiosity as he saw the person coming out from the portal. "Well, I guess you are my next opponent then?"
Minerva sneered arrogantly at the blonde, "Hmm...it seems those two fools weren't able to complete their task, how disappointing. "
"Oi...Are you simply going to insult your teammates or you know...fight me as well?" Naruto asked a bit annoyed by the way she was talking about the two dragon slayers.
"Of course, I'm going to fight you... but before that why don't you first see what I got for you," Minerva smirked as a portal appeared beside her, and her smirk turned completely cruel when she saw the blonde grit his teeth in anger.
"What did you do to her?" Naruto growled and narrowed his eyes angrily at the Sabertooth mage as he saw the unconscious form of Laki hovering inside the portal with numerous bruises all over her body.
"Oh, nothing much," Minerva said enjoying the look on Naruto's face "I just decided to punish her for daring to compete with the might of Sabertooth, and I'm also going to do the same thing to you."
"Free her at once!"
"What are you going to do if I don't, huh?" Minerva arrogantly mocked the furious blonde. "Are you going to cry or something? I've heard that you fairies care for your teammates a lot, so why don't you grovel before me and beg to free her?"
However, much to her surprise, Naruto stopped glaring at her and looked at her with an emotionless expression on his face, before letting out a tired sigh from his mouth.
"I was initially planning to quickly end the fight with you without hurting you too much, " Naruto calmly told the mage as he brought his hands together to make the seal for his signature technique, "But, now...I'm going to beat you within an inch of your life for daring to hurt my friend."
"As if, you can...d"
"Multi-Shadow clone Jutsu." Naruto calmly called out, halting Minerva's retort, whose eyes widened in terror as thousands of clones appeared in a massive puff of smoke and surrounded her from every angle...all of them glaring at him in anger.
All the spectator's eyes also widened in disbelief at the scene before them.
"What...?" Minerva gulped in fear for the first time in her life, not including the times when her father tortured her to get stronger.
"Alright, boys...show her what happens to someone when they hurt our friends," Naruto ordered his clones with an emotionalness expression on his face.
"YOSH!!"
The thousands of clones shouted in agreement with their boss, their voice echoing throughout the Domus Flau and all of them rushed at the terrified mage at once.
That day, Minerva Orland realized the true meaning of fear and pain.
