CHAPTER 7

(MARIO'S P.O.V)

It was 2pm in the afternoon, while I lounged on my couch reading a travel magazine that advertised Midnight Texas. It was ironic considering I almost chose to go to Midnight Texas over Bon Temp. I suddenly heard shouting from my driveway, which caused me to peep out my living room window in curiosity. "Charlaine stop!," Adilyn shouts at her sister trying to pull Charlaine in the opposite direction. "This is wrong!," Adilyn continues to try to persuade Charlaine. "Why huh?!," Charlaine shouts back at Adilyn who snatches her hand away in irritation. "Don't you get it Adilyn?, we've been given a rare opportunity. I finally can win Mario's love without any hindrance. I promise as soon as I make my wish you can have it, but first let me obtain what I most desire." "NO!," Adilyn exclaimed, blasting her with the fairy energy. It sent Charlaine flying a few yards down the driveway. "Is that all you got?!" Charlaine growled in anger, as she blasted Adilyn back, sending Adilyn flying as well.

The next thing I knew they both were rolling around my driveway pulling their hair out. I quickly headed to the front door to break up their fight, understanding exactly what was going on thanks to overhearing their conversation. As I stepped out into my driveway, I noticed the silver dagger a few feet in the open. Probably dropped out of Charlaine's pocket unknowing to her. I quickly pocketed it without any of them noticing. I then unceremoniously pulled both young women to their feet forcing them to let go of one another. "Usually I'm that guy that minds my own business, but since you two are rolling around my driveway, I'm gonna have no choice but to intervene. Now what the hell is going on with you two?!." "I'm so sorry," Adilyn spoke up apologizing."My sister thought it was a good idea to harass you,' Adilyn said glaring at Charlaine who glared back. "Me being here was my own attempt of stopping her." "Is this true?," I casually asked Charlaine whose eyes widened in surprise at me believing Adilyn right away.

"No but-" Charlaine began. "Adilyn if your sister refuses to leave, you're happy to use my phone," I said, handing my cellphone to Adilyn. "So what's it gonna be Charlaine?," Adilyn challenged as she began dialling her Dad's number. "Are you gonna leave or do I need to get Daddy down here?." Charlaine folded her arms, and scoffed in defeat and silently walked away down my driveway.

(SOOKIE'S P.O.V)

"Charlaine Bellefleur you are grounded young lady!," Holly declared angrily. Later that evening around 6:30pm Charlaine and Adilyn came home, and Holly and I discovered that Charlaine took the dagger. "And I would have gotten away with it too." Charlaine grumbled unashamed. "If my sister would just stayed out of my way." "Charlaine honey," I suddenly spoke up, trying to reason with her. "You can't just do something like that. That's not how love works." "Give me the dagger and then go to your room," Holly demands as Charlaine digs into her skirt pocket, but then freezes in fear. "I don't have it." Charlaine simply stated. "Not funny Charlaine!," Holly scolded, becoming instantly irritated. "No I'm not doing this on purpose. I think when Adilyn and I fought, the dagger dropped out on Mario's driveway." Charlaine explained. I quickly pulled out my phone and called Mario. "I'm calling Mario it maybe possible he might spot it in his driveway," I quickly explained since they were all staring at me. After a couple of rings there was no response. "Then we're left with no choice," I said, hanging up. "I'm gonna have to pay Mario a visit."
