Secret Crisis: Battleworld Chapter 14
An aircraft enters the skies of The Deadlands and inside, are an elite team lead by the former BSAA/S.T.A.R.S agent, Chris Redfield.
"Hound Wolf Squad listen up! This is a snatch and grab evac op, meaning I want this clean and quick. Is that understood?" Asked Chris.
"Yes Alpha!" the team replied.
"What's the situation Alpha?" Asked Tundra
"I've recently got into contact on an open channel from a group of survivors in recent weeks. They had Intel that someone was doing some investigating on the ground to see what was the cause of the outbreak. Something about a Quatum Virus. Now overtime, that group began to shrink in numbers. Some kinda, crazy Witch" Explained Chris.
"Must be some new form of bio weapon" said Umber Eyes.
"Possibly a new dangerous variant. Meaning until we can guarantee a clean extraction, that bio weapon is a top priority. Kill on sight but use extreme caution people!" said Chris.
"So what's the play Cap'n?" Asked Lobo
"We do an area sweep. Recon the area and hopefully clear a path for the HVPs so they can evacuate safely." Explained Chris.
"Captain, I'm guessing the extraction point, doesn't have any power." said Night Howl.
"Gonna be quite the trip up the stairs" adds Canine.
"Mission adjustment?" Asked Tundra
"No. Doesn't change anything. Buy them some time, clear a path, get them out. That's the mission." Explained Chris.
In the streets of the Deadlands, Jill along with Zombie Hunter Spider-Man, Ant Man and Sara began their journey to Avengers Tower for evac.
"Stay on my six. All of you." said Jill with her handgun at the ready.
"Any idea how much farther?" Asked Sara.
"Shouldn't be but a few more miles north." Explained Scott.
"I'll see if I can scout ahead" suggested Zombie Hunter Spider-Man.
"NO! We don't want Wanda on our scent. We stick to the ground and close to the shadows." said Jill.
"Good call, said Sara.
"Hold up! Look!" said Scott.
Jill aims with her handgun getting a good view.
"Shit! This way!" she loudly whispered over to a nearby car for cover.
Jill peaks over the car to see the horde of the undead ahead of their path.
"What's the deal?" Asked Zombie Hunter Spider-Man
Jill frantically looks around for a way to sneak past the horde without attracting attention.
"Hey, uh, by the way...how far along are you?" Asked Scott to Sara.
"Wait what?" asked Sara still catching her breath.
"You know..." Scott making a pregnancy gesture
"Pregnant?" Asked Sara.
"Yeah. Pregnant. Just figured since it makes you more of a high priority to protect. That's all." Explained Scott.
"First of all, I can take care of myself. Second...I'm not pregnant." she explained while hesitant to say.
"Oh...so you're just..."
"Scott. Please don't" said Zombie Hunter Spider-Man.
"Don't worry, we'll make sure you won't have to run that much." assured Zombie Hunter Spider-Man.
"Thanks." Sara wiping some sweat off.
"Not looking too good. Can't think of a way to sneak around since there's way too many to sneak past by without one of em seeing us." said Jill.
"What about shooting at a Car alarm?" Asked Zombie Hunter Spider-Man
"That could work"
Jill looks for a car to shoot.
"Damn. No good. They would see where we're at."
Just then, an aircraft arrives opening one of its side doors as some soldiers open fire onto the zombies below.
"Alpha! Got a visual!" shouts Lobo.
Chris then sets the aircraft on autopilot to get a visual confirmation as he pulls out binoculars.
He zooms in on the ground getting a good look. Especially at one of the individuals leading the charge. A face he hasn't seen in a very long time.
"Jill?" Asked Chris to himself.
"Valentine sir?" Asked Canine.
"Draw their attention. Make sure none of these fuckers get to the HVPs." ordered Chris.
"Guess that's our cue to leave" said Sara.
"Move!" shouts Jill.
"Captain! They're on the move!" said Lobo looking down a sniper scope.
"When they're clear, we move" said Chris.
"Roger that Alpha." said Lobo.
"Tundra, take the wheel, on my Mark..." ordered Chris.
"Roger"
Tundra assumes the pilot chair, disabling auto pilot.
"Lobo! Sit-Rep!" shouts Chris.
"HVPs are Oscar-Mike." he replied.
"Let's move! I want a path cleared from here to that tower!" ordered Chris.
Tundra takes the aircraft away, flying over to thr next block, as she engaged the main guns online to open fire.
"Opening fire" she said letting the guns loose mowing down waves of the undead.
Back on the ground, Jill leads the team in a sprint as their ride out of there aggros the undead onto them.
"What the hell are they doing?" Asked Sara.
"Buying time and clearing a path for us. Let's keep moving!" said Jill.
Jill takes one of the alleys over as a shortcut through the zombies, at they distance themselves from the sounds of gunfire.
Jill takes the lead opening fire on some zombies and giving some a beautiful roundhouse kick onto their heads, knocking them clean off.
"Damn!" shouts Sara as she begins to slice some zombie heads off.
"This your first time fighting zombies?" Asked Jill.
"Third actually!" said Sara impaling a zombie behind her and kicking another away.
"DUCK!"
Zombie Hunter Spider-Man hurls a car to plow through the zombies creating more distance.
"We gotta keep moving" he said.
Sara trying to catch her breath while wiping off more sweat from her brow said,
"He's right. *panting*"
"Then let's go. Shouldn't be much farther now." says Jill.
"Ground team, this is Tundra, I'm your eyes in the sky. Come in!"
"Go ahead Tundra" said Jill.
"I'm picking up massive amounts of bioweapons around the RV point. You're only a few blocks away. Suggest you find some cover. Over." Explained Tundra.
"Why is that?" Asked Jill.
"Forecast is calling for rain. Lead rain." she answered, pushing the button on the main guns."
Tundra clears the entrance to Avengers tower from the undead.
"Now listen up, the power situation in the tower is offline, meaning you're gonna have to find a way to turn it back on if you want to take the elevator upstairs." Explained Tundra.
"We have a plan in okay." Explained Jill.
"Good. We'll do what we can to cover you guys from here. Just get to the roof. Over and out" said Tundra.
"Alright. Let's get inside and turn the power back on. Scott? You ready?" Asked Jill.
"As I'll ever be" he replied.
"Then let's move!"
