Chapter 39
The Date
"I'm so nervous."
"You'll be fine." Johan finished fixing Cain's tie for him in his room. He had picked his clothes for him. Black dressing pants with matching shoes and a long-sleeved shirt with a black tie. White was his favorite color and Abel's was black, so he combined both of them for his outfit."You said it wasn't a date, right? So why would you be nervous?"
"Because it feels like it is, you smartass." Cain's right eye twitched at Johan's comment."You're enjoying this too much, aren't you?"
"Well, it's a good day, right? Besides, I'm so proud of my boy I can barely contain myself." Johan wiped away his tears.
"Why are you crying?! It's just a date!"
"So it is a date!"
Cain fought the urge to slam his head against the mirror in front of them and instead took a deep breath."Sure. Whatever floats your boat. I think I'm ready."
"Hold your horses. I need to hear of your game plan first." Johan held his hand up."Gotta make sure you're not just going to stroll around the capital without doing anything. You have to have a plan ready."
"She did say she wanted to go shopping. But I was thinking of buying ourselves ice cream first."
"Good. Sweeten out the deal first before you make a move. And after that?"
"I...look, we'll think of something, okay?" Cain pushed Johan away from him and headed for the door, ignoring his protests.
"Fine. I'll trust ya." Johan rubbed the back of his neck."I got my own business to attend to anyway. I have a mission of my own and I got partnered up with someone from the Silver Eagles."
"A mission? What kind?"
"Dunno the details yet. I'm assuming my partner will brief me." Johan shrugged nonchalantly, walking by Cain and ruffling his hair."Go have fun, kid. You deserve it."
"I don't know about that. All I did was talk with Abel and makeup with him, I guess. It's the right thing to do. We're siblings after all. I can't believe how long it took me to realize how important family truly is."
"It's never too late to learn a lesson like that." Johan explained."As long as you realize your mistakes, then they're not that big a deal. I'm sure Abel forgave you, right? I had a problem with Raiden recently and we talked things out. Any problem can be solved by talking things out. Anyway, I have to get going. Enjoy yourself on my behalf. I'll be working my ass off like always."
"Sure thing." Cain chuckled, following the burly man outside and walking in the opposite direction."Now...to get to the Capital."
"Look at you. Looking rather sharp, I'd say."
Cain immediately halted upon hearing the voice of his immediate superior. Slowly turning his head to the opposing corridor, he watched as the Vice Captain of the Golden Dawn approached him."Vice Captain Langris."
"Going out somewhere? Perhaps to meet a certain someone from the Coral Peacocks?" Langris gave him a knowing smile.
"H-how do you know that, sir?"
"I hear everything. Nothing escapes my notice." Langris said, leaning against the wall."That and because people tend to talk. A lot. Especially that loudmouth of a Vice Captain they have. Not exactly subtle, that one."
"Uh..."
"So, this is why you requested a day off today?" Langris gave him a surprised look."I thought you'd be doing something else entirely. You really surprise me, you know that?"
"I...I apologize, sir. I should have told you about it." Cain bowed in respect."I didn't mean to keep it a secret but...I didn't think you'd be interested in these kinds of affairs."
"And why wouldn't I be? You're my best subordinate. Believe it or not, I do care about your well-being and all." Langris walked up to the taller young man, putting a hand on his shoulder."Besides, after all your hard work, I believe a day off is only natural, correct? Go and have fun. I'll be fine on my own today."
"Thank you, Vice Captain Langris." Cain gave him a grateful smile, watching the royal resume his walk.
"Don't mention it. Do be here tomorrow, though. We have much to discuss." Langris gave him a small way before disappearing down the corridor.
With nothing else stopping him, Cain rushed out of his base, ready to take flight to the sky with his broom.
After flying for a bit and reaching the Capital, Cain landed on the ever-busy streets. He approached the nearby broom holding area and placed his there before proceeding to walk around town.
"Crap. I forgot we didn't agree on a specific meeting spot." Cain grumbled, fighting the urge to facepalm."But she's a psychic or whatever, right? I'm sure she will find me."
"Not a psychic. An astrologer."
Cain yelped like a little girl, covering his mouth as if it would take back the girlish scream that came out of him."Holy shit...You scared the hell out of me!"
"Seriously? After all the effort I put into making sure I looked presentable enough, that's how you react. Next time, I won't even make an effort."
He blinked in confusion and took a look at her outfit. She was wearing white boots with black laces and a pair of black stockings adorning her legs. She had a checkered-pattern pleated skirt held up by a white belt with a star symbol on it. She had a black sweater that cut off above her chest and shoulders, revealing what looked to be the straps of her bra. To top her outfit off, she had her hair tied up in her usual pigtails and a cabbie hat.
"So..." Luna spun in place, hands to her sides."What do you think?"
"You look lovely." Cain admitted, a light blush on his face."Sorry. I just wasn't expecting you to find me so fast, that's all. Nothing wrong with your appearance."
"Yeah, I figured you'd be a little lost since we didn't agree on a meeting place so..." Luna pulled out her grimoire from her satchel."I used my magic to see the stars and I was guided here."
"You really have some amazing magic, you know that?" Cain praised her as they began walking.
"Oh, you don't have to remind me." Luna puffed her chest with pride."I know I'm good. The best of the best."
"Glad you're still as humble as ever." The brunette deadpanned, earning a giggle from her."Still, you have a point. That scope you gave me is really useful. I've increased my accuracy considerably thanks to it."
"No problem. I'm glad you found it useful." She said, brushing some of her hair behind her ear."So, I hope you're ready for today. I'll have you carry all my bags."
"Fine by me." Cain shrugged."It's lifting, right? I've considered gaining some muscle recently so it could help. But I was thinking we could stop by to get some ice cream. I know a good place nearby."
"Huh. You've done your homework and scoped out the place." Luna folded her arms in amazement."You came prepared. I thought you'd just let me decide things."
"I had some help." Cain confessed while eyeing the streets, looking around for the ice cream parlor he heard about."Johan has been a great help to me. He picked my outfit and everything."
"Oh, here I thought you were looking a little too sharp." Luna gave him a smug smile."But seriously, you look handsome. And what else happened? Did you talk to your brother?"
"Yeah. I talked to him. It took me a long time, but I realized how important family was." Cain said, hands in his pockets."I had a lot of people practically hammering that down to me. And at the end of the day, Abel and I are the only things we have. I mean, sure, I consider all the little runts back at the orphanage family, but Abel and I are blood-related. We had the same parents, whoever they were. So we decided to give things another go. We even went on a mission together recently. Turns out little Abel has a crush. I never thought...I'd be happy to hear that, you know? It's weird."
"I'm really glad!" Luna stopped in her tracks, grabbing his hands."It's so sad to see siblings fight. I'm happy you listened to me and talked to him. It wasn't so bad, was it?"
"I guess it was nice, actually." Cain shifted nervously, feeling Luna's soft hands with his own."I never asked you this but why were you so hellbent on making sure Abel and I were on good terms."
"Well..." Luna tightened her grip on his hands."To be honest, I kind of projected myself on you. I have a sister, you see. Her name is Isabella. We weren't close back then. That's how I saw it at least. She was a different story."
Once they made it to the ice cream shop, both teens ordered their delicious treat. Strawberry for Cain and vanilla for Luna.
"Never took you for a strawberry flavor kind of guy," Luna said, grabbing some napkins for them.
"It's good. My favorite flavor. But anyway, what were you saying about your sister?"
The mages sat down on a nearby bench, watching the people walk around them.
"Right." Luna lowered her ice cream, holding it with both hands."My sister always looked out for me. Took care of me. But I was too stubborn to ever accept her help. One day she just...ran away from home. Never came back. I resented her. Calling her a coward for abandoning me just like that with our parents. I resented her."
Cain wanted to offer words of comfort, but chose to stay silent while she got her thoughts together, her hands trembling."Our parents were...complicated. They never showed us any love or affection. At times, I thought that I was the one who did something to upset them. But Isabella...Bella, she...she would always comfort me. And despite my not reciprocating her feelings, I yearned for her love. That's why when she left, I felt completely and utterly alone. I loathed her."
Luna's ice cream began to melt in her hand, so Cain was quick to offer a napkin."Thank you."
"You're speaking in the past tense." Cain pointed out."I'm assuming that those negative feelings disappeared."
"Right." Luna nodded in affirmation."The older I grew, the more I realize why she had done it. She must have felt completely hopeless, having no one to talk to. I realize how I felt...and how lucky I am to have had her. But she didn't have anyone to support her. Eventually, I sought her out and found out she works at some sort of club as a hostess. I never approached her, though. I'm just...ashamed."
"Why? I mean, sure, you think you messed up, but I don't think your sister blames you." Cain offered his opinion."Family isn't that easy. No matter what you do, you can't cut ties with them. I cut Abel off my life for a while and when I went to make things up with him, he gladly accepted my apologies as if nothing had happened. It's funny. I'm the older brother and I was the one who was too afraid to make things right. But for you, it's not too late. I'm sure if you follow my example and talk to your sister, you can come to an understanding."
"I thought about it." Luna closed her eyes in thought."But in contrast to you twins, we have different ages. I'm sure she has her own life right now. Probably glad to have escaped from our cold household."
"You never went to visit her? How do you know she's happy?"
"I roam around that place from time to time incognito." Luna informed him."I know the owner is someone called Hazama Salazar. He's a nice man from what I hear. Takes care of his employees. And Isabella seemed happy to work there the last time I saw her. A month ago or so."
"Don't you think she would be happier to see her sister?"
"She never came back." Luna sighed, leaning back on the bench after finishing her ice cream."Never wrote a letter or anything. I don't think she even knows I became a Magic Knight. It made me wonder...does she still care about me? Plus, maybe she got fed up with me never saying I love you back. I guess...that feeling of isolation and lack of love caused her to snap. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't want anything to do with me."
"It could be that she feels the same way you do." Cain shifted in his position, crossing one leg over another."Ashamed. Perhaps she feels guilty for abandoning you and also thinks that you don't want anything to do with her. Thinking about it like that, makes it look like you sisters will never be able to settle your problems together. Because you think you both want the other out of your lives. But that's not the case."
Cain adjusted his position so he would be facing Luna."As I said, family isn't so easy to understand. I have a squadmate that treats his parents like garbage because they didn't give him the life he wanted. And despite that, they give him nothing but love back."
"Love can be very complicated, yes." Luna nodded understandingly."Sometimes people love for no reason at all. Or so it seems for that way for us. But it's different for each person. We don't ask to be loved but we get it anyway. Perhaps...I'll try to talk to my sister soon. Your words gave me the courage I needed to realize that it's never too late to make things right."
"Hey, you're the one who encouraged me. So in a way, you encouraged yourself." Cain pointed out, chuckling."But that'd be nice. Maybe we can go today if that's alright. I don't mind adding that to our list of destinations?"
"Would that be alright?" Luna asked, her voice full of hope."Thank you so much. You're really sweet."
"Ah...well, thank you." Cain awkwardly folded his arms, shifting his gaze."So...what do you want to do now? Want to go shopping?"
"Sure. We have the whole day today unless you have other plans?"
"No, I'm free for today." Cain and Luna stood up, making their way down the street."Vice Captain Langris was kind enough to give me the day completely off."
"Langris Vaude? I heard many things about him, but being kind isn't one of them." Luna commented."I suppose he must have taken a liking to you or something?"
"I suppose. He was the person who brought me into the squad." Cain smiled upon reminiscing."I somehow ended up in a hostage situation with some bandits that were holding some villagers against their will. I had my Grimoire at the time, but I wasn't sure I could have taken them all by myself."
"A hostage situation?" Luna's eyes widened."Oh dear, how did that happen?"
"It happened in one of the villages in the Forsaken Realm. I was just walking by and apparently, a group of bandits was holding the whole village hostage. I came in at the wrong time and I had to hide and analyze the situation. I was fairly far from anywhere else. They were loading people into wagons and I was afraid that if I took too long they'd take innocent people God knows where. So I took a stand and fought. Of course, I had to remain hidden, but thanks to my archer skills, I was able to take down a good chunk of them until I was found out. But thankfully, Magic Knights were passing by the area and they noticed my arrows flying towards the sky."
"You shot towards the sky?"
"Well, I was trying to hit the bandits who were flying around with their brooms, and sometimes I would miss a few shots. Fortunately, they were noticed by the Golden Dawn. And Langris was with them at the time. They quickly dispatched the remaining bandits and saved the villagers. That's when Langris came up to me and offered me his hand."
"You have some skill. I could use that. Come with me and I'll give you a real purpose." Cain recited the words he would always remember."After that, he took me under his wing. I've been some kind of assistant, I guess. But like he promised, he allowed me to make something of myself. The rest is history."
Luna was amazed by the story. On one hand, she had heard some bad things from Langris, mainly from her own Vice Captian and some of her squadmates. But to hear a different side of him from her friend was something else."So that's why you look up to him. That's quite a story. Not many people are recruited by the Golden Dawn just like that."
"Yeah, well, I thought the same thing until I got Johan on board." Cain shrugged."Our squad looks for talent. That's why they got me, Yuno, and Johan despite us being mere Commoners and whatnot."
"Doesn't it get overwhelming? I mean, to be part of the best squad. I would imagine it takes tremendous effort, especially if you're at the bottom of the food chain."
"Sometimes." Cain began."For starters, our reports are expected to be a certain way. If they don't meet the minimum requirements we have to remake them. We also work more than the other squads. I barely get any days off unless I asked for them. And since we're Commoners, we have to behave a certain way that won't bring shame to the squad, or so they say. Meaning that whatever we do reflects double towards the Golden Dawn. But other than that it's not so bad. I guess a few extra perks thanks to Vice Captain Langris."
"Yeah, no. Sounds like a hassle, if you ask me. Even with whatever perks you might get." Luna looked exasperated."Just thinking about all that paperwork you must do is exhausting me."
"Sounds like you don't like to work more than you have to."
"Of course, I don't." Luna scoffed."Overworking yourself like that will only manage to stress you and burn you out. That's why some people get tired of the job. There has to be a balance."
"Okay, that sounds fair. Maybe you're right. I've been reducing my workload for the past few weeks and I feel different. Less moody, I would say. I can't imagine what being a captain must be like."
"It's probably not that hard if you have a reliable vice-captain. Look at my Captain, for example. She's asleep all day long."
"She is, isn't she? I wonder how she sleeps that long." Cain pondered."I couldn't sleep in if I wanted to. I always wake up early."
"Pfft. See that's proof of you being a workaholic." Luna snickered."Let me ask you: Do you have any hobbies?"
"Well..."
"Training doesn't count."
"Okay, maybe I don't." Cain confessed, embarrassed."What about you then?"
Luna brushed her hair back condescendingly."I like to study astrology. And to try out different flavors of tea in different tea shops. Sometimes I spend my free days there just reading books and relaxing. You should go out more and do things you like."
"Duly noted...It's not that easy though."
"No? What is it that you like to do?"
"Well...I don't know, actually." Cain found himself saying, surprising himself."I don't know what I like to do."
"You serious?" Luna gave him a perplexed look."We'll have to fix that, won't we? Anyway, let's go to that store over there!"
"Sure." Cain smiled, following behind an eager Luna.
After hours of Luna trying out different clothes, she opted for buying just a few, much to Cain's relief since he carried two bags.
"Maybe you could be a fashion designer." He heard Luna say beside him."You helped me pick up some nice things."
"I don't think I could do that." Cain shrugged."Doesn't seem natural for someone like me. What about you? How did you find out you liked astrology?"
Luna rubbed her chin in thought."Aside from the fact of my magic is Constellar Magic, I suppose I love learning more about the stars. Like...how many stars or planets are in the universe? How many of the have life like ours."
"You think there's life out there?"
"Surely we're not the only intelligent beings in the whole solar system." Luna reasoned."I'm sure that there are beings out there that we don't know about. Perhaps they're thinking the same thing we are."
"Sounds very philosophical in a way." Cain surmised."I guess it makes sense we wouldn't be the only living beings in existence. God created the universe after all. Gave us all a purpose."
"Do you mind if I ask you something?" Luna looked up at him.
"Sure."
"Do you think God gave us the means to dictate our destiny? Or do you think we're just following along with what he wrote already?"
Cain halted his walk, raising a brow."Where did this come from? I guess...I think we all can decide what we want to do and be. I heard that when we make a decision, our realities separate, making alternate ones. So while we don't see any changes, we're creating a separate reality from our original one with every decision."
Luna chuckled at his words."So you think people can do what they want, huh...That's odd. I'd figured someone who believes in God would think he's the one orchestrating everything."
"Sure, God is all-powerful and all, but I doubt he would create a specific script for each person to follow. I think he knows what we'll do but he doesn't know what we'll do."
"Destiny and God aren't related." Luna stated, taking him by surprise."Destiny is its own concept. Like Karma. But destiny is unavoidable. You can't change the life that it's already written for you the moment you're born."
"If you're right, we should have the ability to change aspects of our future, no?" Cain pointed out."I don't know, maybe if we could time travel."
"No. No matter how much you try to change the future, it will not happen." Luna didn't deter."We think that we can change our futures, but that's not the case. We can't truly tell if we changing our futures because we can't see into the future. But I can."
"Huh?" Cain blinked a few times, bewildered."What did you say?"
"I have the ability to use foresight with my magic to look into my future an hour ahead or less for a few seconds." Luna elaborated, opening her Grimoire and creating a constellation map that only she could understand."Sometimes I see things that are going to happen. For instance, you'll be hit in the face with a cabbage."
"Huh?" Cain glanced around, noticing they were around food stalls."I'll keep my eyes open..."
"You can try, but this was ordained by fate, long had I foreseen it." Luna closed her eyes, hands behind her back
"Okay, let's put that to the test." Cain speed walked back to where they came from, Luna close behind him.
"Where are you going?" Luna asked between giggles."You'll get hit by a cabbage. Deal with it."
"I refuse to just accept that we can't change our future." Cain looked over his shoulder."I won't be hit by that cabba-"
Cain looked out of the corner of his eye an object flying towards him. Instinctively, he rose his arms, taking the blow. Indeed, what he saw on the floor was a cabbage.
"I'm so sorry!" A lady carrying a child in her arms ran over to a startled Cain."My husband and I are going home with some cabbages we bought and I guess our wagon is coming loose because one of the boards broke when I sat down and launched that cabbage over here."
"It's...no problem." Cain carefully said."A seesaw effect."
"I apologize." The lady knelt, prompting her baby to curiously grab the cabbage before throwing it at his face."Oh my goodness! Isaac!"
The baby just giggled innocently, not knowing any better.
"So, how did that work out?" Luna smugly asked, hands on her hips."Seems to me you just ate the cabbage." She offered him a handkerchief, which he gladly accepted.
"How...?" Cain asked, cleaning his face, stupefied.
"You can't change destiny. Even if you know what's coming, you can only accept it. Let's try again. Constellar Magic: Flowing Fate"
Once more, a constellation appeared in front of Luna as she scanned over it."Oh. Seems like we're at the place my sister works. How strange. I was planning to go there later in the day."
"Hey, at least it means you'll see her, right?" Cain patted her shoulder."That's good."
"It's weird...I didn't see her at all in my vision." Luna pursed her lips."I wonder what that means."
"We'll go talk to her later. Don't worry. I'll go with you." Cain offered, resuming their walk."By the way, why don't you use that spell more often? It'd do wonders, right?"
"Yes, but I have to stand still for me to properly use it." Luna explained with a pout."And besides, I don't like using it."
"How come? Isn't it good to have a foresight ability like that?"
"That's the thing." Luna sighed."Who in the world wants to see things ahead and accidentally see something bad happening to them? Imagine I see myself with a broken bone or something and there's no way to avoid that fate. I'd be a paranoid mess! That's why I leave things as they are. No use in seeing something that will happen regardless."
"Fair point." Cain relented, noticing a group of people in front of the wall of the Magic Knight headquarters."I wonder what's going on."
"That's where they usually post the portraits of people that are missing." Luna narrowed her eyes."Though it's quite bizarre for this many people to be here. Want to take a look?"
"Lead the way." The brown-haired teen followed the Coral Peacocks member, realizing the distress on the citizen's faces.
"Another girl? Is it the same case?"
"She just vanished out of thin air. No one knows where she went."
"They never found the other missing girls. I wonder if the Order of the First is behind this."
Cain and Luna pushed their way into the crowd, studying the missing posters of girls that were declared missing by the kingdom.
"Look at them, Luna." Cain scanned over the posters, reading the information posted on them.
"All of them are girls." Luna deduced once she quickly glanced over all of them before stopping on one in particular.
"Right. This one here...Christa. Seems like she hasn't been since in a while. And others went missing a while back too." Cain continued reading. When he noticed that his friend made no sound, he grew worried. He was hoping he could get her insight into all of this."Luna?"
"Why?"
"Luna?" Cain made his way over to here, following her gaze to see the poster she was looking at."Isabella Rome. Wait, Isabella...?"
"My sister..." Luna whispered, her voice failing her.
"So your last name was Rome?" Cain shook his head, deciding that it was not important."She's missing? When? I mean, how-"
Abruptly, Luna dashed out of the crowd, running as if her life depended on it. Cain, concerned, chased after her and found himself unable to reach her."Despite having short legs, she's fast."
"Constellar Magic: Gravita Star!"
Cain could hear the desperation in her voice when she cast her spell, jumping on top of a star created by her magic.
"Shit, not again." Cain quickly pulled out his bow as he grabbed his broom and jumped on it. Shooting his arrow, he grappled onto the star, grabbing the Yang string he created. Luna was going full speed and he could feel it, forcing his eyes closed due to the high speeds they were reaching. After a while, Luna began descending, allowing Cain to see where they were.
"That place...it's that club where Luna's sister works at. The Hall."
Luna deactivated her spell when she was close to the ground, jumping off and using her momentum to rush into the club, kicking the door open.
Cain landed safely on the ground, recalling his bow and arrow and jogging behind her. He could already hear the commotion inside. In effect, the sight wasn't pretty. Luna was screaming her head off, flipping tables, and breaking everything.
"Where is my sister?! Where is Isabella?!" She demanded, grabbing a nearby girl."Tell me!"
"I-I-I-I don't know!" She shrieked, closing her eyes.
"Calm down, Luna." Cain grabbed her arm, stopping her from doing something stupid."We must talk to the manager. Maybe he knows."
"Know what, exactly?" They heard a voice behind them. Turning to the source, they encountered the red-haired owner of the club.
Hazama stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening slightly.'Abel? No...it can't be. He's wearing a different uniform. That must be the twin.'
"Where is my sister?" Luna marched up to Hazama, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.
"Hey, get your hands off him!" One of the women came to stop Luna, but she slapped her hand away.
"Get the fuck off me!" She snarled, furious beyond belief.
"Daddy?" Debbie timidly poked her head from behind a table.
"Everyone just calm down." Hazama laid down the law, silencing the room."You said sister, right? You must be Luna. I'm sorry I didn't inform you sooner about Isabella's disappearance."
"What happened?" Luna insisted, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
"Luna." Cain grabbed her shoulder."Let's calm down, okay? We can ask him questions then."
Reluctantly, she nodded. Hazama guided them to the backrooms, grabbing some chairs for them to sit on. After telling them his makeshift story, he waited for them to process the information.
'Can't let them find out that Isabella...became Leviathan.' He bit the inside of his cheek.'I'm already a suspect in this whole thing. Not to mention fucking Joseph kidnaped those girls from my club a few months ago. If they make the connection now...'
"So my sister was last seen going home and you haven't seen her here since." Luna asked, checking if she had all the details straight."Do you...know where she could have gone?"
"Same place as some of my girls." Hazama crossed his arms, leaning back on his chair after removing his hat."I've been losing personnel every few months. They get kidnapped. Or something. I tried sending many requests to the Capital but they can't do much. It looks bad for me since I'm the first person they would suspect."
"You are the owner and the last person who saw them." Cain chimed in."It would be logical to assume you had something to do with it."
"If I find out you did, I-"
"It's not me." Hazama cut her off, scowling."I have a daughter. The last thing I need is to get involved with stuff like that and besides, why would I purposely sabotage my own business? Furthermore, I consider all these girls like family. Each and every single one of them. I took your sister in when she ran away from home and accepted her. She disappeared with Christa, her best friend. Their disappearance truly broke my heart and I'm doing what I can to track them."
"Maybe it's not him." Cain furrowed his brow."I mean, I don't have any proof to back that up, but I can see he cares for them, Luna. Look at the girls from earlier. They were all sticking up for him and defending him, genuinely. If he mistreated them, they wouldn't have done that."
"But if it's not him...could the Order of the First..." Luna couldn't fight the tears anymore and began sobbing."My sister...is she dead...?"
Cain hastily stood up, engulfing her in a hug. Luna grabbed onto him hard, crying in his chest.
"It's too soon to tell." Hazama found himself saying."Perhaps someone else is involved. You know, a kidnapper of sorts. Until we see her body, I firmly believe your sister is alive."
"Do you think so?" Cain inquired with a hopeful tone.
"Without a doubt. I'm sure she's fine." Hazama half lied. While Isabella herself was not, Levi was in control of her body so technically she was alive."I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help."
"It's okay." Cain guided Luna out."We'll take our leave. Thanks for your hospitality."
'This is bad.' Hazama sighed once they exited the room.'If Abel tells his brother about seeing Levi, then it would make things worse. That bastard, Joseph...Good thing I have a plan for this.'
On their way out of the club, Cain soothed Luna, gently rubbing her head.
"Excuse me..." A young woman approached them, the same one Luna had threatened earlier."I...I did see something weird."
Luna rose her head, meeting glances with her."You did...?"
"Yes...I believe that a strange boy is behind all this." The girl confessed, following Hazama's instructions."He would come here to harass the girls and relieve his sick fantasies."
"A boy?" Cain looked unnerved."What's his name?"
"His name is Joseph. And he might be a member of the Order of the First."
