Shiro of the Nousagi clan was on his way to see his surrogate brother Glasho. Ever since his people were on the losing side of the rebellion they had lost credibility in the current regime. The remaining members were few and spread out across the village. To limit their opportunity to plot against the king he was told. The young Genin had black hair cut short. He appeared around twelve years old. The older ninja had taken him under his wing teaching him some of his personally developed techniques. Soon he was knocking on the adult's door. To his surprise it seemed the brunette was packing to leave.

"Oh Shiro-kun, sorry I thought you might be another messenger. I have an important mission. How are you?" The Chunin felt his tension loosen a little seeing the kid.

"Alright as I can be. Grandpa is seeing the Lord about our right to gather again. It's been ten years after all so he's hopeful." The old man never gave up as head of the clan he supposed.

"Sorry to hear that kid. I hope he realizes that Kekei Ginkai of your peoples' is the reason you're feared so much. I doubt you'll ever be allowed to gather in force as things are." The more clan ninja involved in the jutsu the more power it holds. He thought to himself. "Anyway, if your grandpa is still pushing for that. I can't ask you to come with me. Rumor has it that a active rebel force has been identified. Doto is concerned enough to send me to investigate."

"I guess your right Glasho-sama. Since my family was once considered a Great Clan of the Land of Snow. We're probably already suspected of being involved. Still, I wish I could go." The young Nousagi lowered his eyes. He always learned faster with active in person training.

The man sighed as his student started thinking too much again. He changed the mood instantly by messing up his hair affectionately. "Don't sweat it kid. I plan on doing this alone anyway. I can't risk walking into some trap that threatens others lives. I usually work more efficiently alone." He smiled his best for the boys sake.

"Can I at least walk with you to the village outskirts?" The younger male bounced in place awaiting permission.

"Fine, just don't slow me down too much." The pair walked and discussed simple things until they parted ways.

A Few days later...

The wind was picking up as the signs of a snowstorm became clear. Such weather always gives him mixed feelings now. Ever since the day he lost her. However, he survived due to nature's intervention as well. He better get some cover to wait out the harshest of it.

After finding a cave that went deep enough to wait out the conditions. He sat down and ate a food pill as his mind wandered a bit. The rebel group was spotted in his area. So now it was like searching for a single flake in a snow bank. What was he even going to do when he found it? Probably warn them to change location. There were Jonin that could out do him if they tried under Doto's thumb. Thankfully, his hated leader was just paranoid enough to keep his loyalists nearby. Suddenly, he heard shuffling outside his temporary shelter. The eased out a kunai in each hand as preparation.

"This storm seemed to come out of nowhere. Do you think it's some kind of powerful Ninjutsu?"

"I hope not we have problems enough without that as well. Ether way we need to take cover. Our meeting isn't for a few hours anyway."

"Still, I don't know what Lord Kisame could want around here. What could he mean? By an untapped resource of the water style."

"Quiet, he would kill us both. If he heard you speaking his name so casually."

"Your right sorry. Hey look a cave we must be lucky today."

On hearing that Glasho used chakra control to reach the thirty foot ceiling. After climbing along it for a bit he heard them entering the area. Near silently he formed his needed hand signs. "Earth style Opaque Pillar." He winced as the near by shuffling of rock made noise as it covered him. Now he was held to the ceiling resembling a natural hanging bit of rock. A crude thin window in the cover allowed him to have limited sight below.

Two men in rough looking winter garb appeared. They had strangely distorted fish like pale skin and wicked looking curved knives at their sides. When one yawned a mouth full of sharp teeth was visible. In moments they were out of visual range before more could be determined.

One spoke with slight nervousness. "Did you hear something?"

"Yeah sounds like it's started to hale outside. We might be here awhile. Do you think the rebels will understand if we're late to the meeting?"

"They live around here. Not to mention their desperate enough to reach thru less than legal channels to get it. So it shouldn't be a problem for the Shark Spawn brothers. Am I right bud?"

"You know it pal." Then the two settled into a companionable silence to wait out the weather.

The Snow Chunin held in a sigh. At least his post was porous enough for longterm waiting without suffocating. Otherwise it wouldn't be very useful for spying. His neck would be hurting before long though. One thing was certain though he managed to stumble across a lead.

Premiere of the latest Princess Gale movie...

"Hime can I get your autograph."

"Hime can I get a picture."

"Look this way Hime I need a money shot for my article."

Another fake smile greeted the fans as her manager helped her in the studio car. 'Their all a bunch of fools. Happy Endings are pure fiction.' She Gripped the crystal around her neck again. She wished she had the strength to break it. 'A fairytale that got her father and poor Glasho nothing more than death.' She did wonder if a sequel was coming. In the end despite herself hope knawed at her spirit.

Unknown location...

The Tailess Beast glared at his icy surroundings. "This land is a frozen corpse. I can't help but, enjoy it." He was talking to no one in particular. Itachi didn't accompany him on his little side mission. However, he couldn't leave everything in those incompetent siblings hands. If the rebels agreed to his proposal he would have to crush Doto. That armor of theirs could be very useful to the Akatski peons. If no agreement could be met. He would simply take as much of the devices as he could carry. "Nobody would have a chance of stopping him alone." Then his laughter echoed in his temporary base.
