(Pre-chapter note. Got a new translator. I'm so cool. While I do think this is more accurate, please do correct me on any errors.)
While everyone made their way to their homes, (Or, just, home, for the guys being roommates in an apartment) Donnie and Julia hesitantly left, now still sitting in their car, motionless, even while the parking lot to the studio was empty.
"Donnie." Julia turned to her boyfriend. "Pensé que nos ibas a llevar a casa." (I thought you were going to take us home)
Donnie shook his head. "¡Soy! ¡Soy! Sé paciente. Solo pensé que tenemos tiempo y no tenemos que apresurarnos, ¡eso es todo!" (I am! I am! Be patient. I just figured we have time and we don't have to rush, that's all!)
Julia raised her eyebrow. "¿Me acabas de arreglar una cita a ciegas?" (Did you just set me up on a blind date?)
Donnie sheepishly looked away from her. "Uh- NO."
Julia put her hands on her hips, giving Donnie a serious look. "no lo hiciste." (Literal translation is "You did not do it." But I was trying to translate "You didn't-") Donnie's cheeks turned rosy red, and he looked back at Julia, who raised a brow at him. "Donnie Alvarez." Julia scolded.
"¿qué?" Donnie sheepishly smirked.
Julia sighed, shaking her head and giggling. "¿por qué eres como eres?" (Why are you the way you are?)
The two lovebirds smiled at one another, looking into each other's gleaming eyes.
Julia sighed. Her boyfriend was a hopeless simp. She succumbed and put her seatbelt on. "Entonces, ¿a dónde?" (So, where to?)
"No, no no. No puedo decirte eso. Es una sorpresa." (I can't tell you that. It's a surprise.)
Julia rolled her eyes at him. "Por supuesto" (Of course)
Donnie fastened his seat belt, started the car, and before the two knew it, they seemed to sail away.
While on the road, Donnie huffed, taking a quick glance at Julia, before focusing on the road again.
Julia snickered. "¿Hay algo mal?" ("Is there something wrong?")
Donnie replied, "No me odies, pero realmente no sé a dónde voy". (Don't hate me, but I really don't know where I'm going.)
Julia scowled at him. "Dios mío, ¿estamos perdidos?" (My god, are we lost?)
Donnie groaned. "no, ¡no estamos perdidos! Quiero decir que no sé a dónde ir. No sé qué hacer. No tengo un plan, Julia." (no, we are not lost! I mean I don't know where to go. I don't know what to do. I don't have a plan, Julia.) His face turned red as he bashfully frowned at the road.
Julia sighed in relief. "me has dado un susto de muerte. Bueno, ¿al menos tienes una idea?" (you scared me to death. Well, do you at least have an idea?)
"UM- ¡Por supuesto! Siempre tengo un plan, Julia. No te preocupes. Sólo estaba actuando. Jaja. Te había engañado." (UM- Of course! I always have a plan, Julia. Don't worry about it. I was just acting. Haha. I had you fooled.)
"Donnie, ¿sabes qué hacer o no? No me mientas." (Donnie, do you know what to do or not? Don't lie to me.)
Donnie's bashful frown eventually turned into a pout. "¡Pero Julia! Si te dijera que no tengo planes, no habrías venido conmigo, ¡y no podría pasar tiempo contigo!" (But Julia! If I told you I had no plans, you wouldn't have come with me, and I wouldn't be able to spend time with you!)
Julia sighed. "¿Así que me preparaste una cita a ciegas?" (So you did set me up on a blind date?)
Donnie nodded. "Mira, yo sólo... te quiero de verdad. Y quería pasar tiempo de calidad contigo. Estaba pensando que podría pedirte que te llevara a casa... pero luego sacaría un ingenioso 'oye, vamos a cenar juntos' y te gustaría..." He made his voice slightly higher pitched for Julia's dialogue- "¡Oh, Donnie, mi amor, me encantaría!' Y luego conduciremos hacia el atardecer y podríamos ver una película o besarnos o algo así".
( "Look, I just...I really love you. And I wanted to spend quality time with you. I was thinking I might ask you for a ride home... but then I'd pull out a witty 'hey, let's have dinner together' and you'd like..." ""Oh, Donnie, my love, I'd love that!" And then we'd drive off into the sunset and we could watch a movie or make out or something.")
Julia laughed, and put her hand on Donnie's shoulder lightly, then sweetly smiled at him. "Donnie, cariño, si querías ir al cine conmigo, o lo que sea, podías haberlo pedido"." ("Donnie, honey, if you wanted to go to the movies with me, or whatever, you could have asked.")
Donnie shook his head. "Quería ser inteligente, Julia. Pensé... No sé. Quería que pensaras "¡Oh, Donnie, eres tan inteligente!"" ("I wanted to be smart, Julia. I thought... I don't know. I wanted you to think "Oh, Donnie, you're so smart!")
Julia giggled. "Bueno, no creo que tipos como ese piensen en fechas en el último minuto". ("Well, I don't think guys like that think about dates at the last minute.")
"Sí, supongo que tienes razón, no lo hacen". (Yeah, I guess you're right, they don't)
"¿Qué tal si vamos a comer a una hamburguesería del centro? Me muero de hambre". (How about we go to eat at a burger place downtown? I'm starving.)
"Suena como una buena idea." (Sounds like a good idea.)
