Midna woke up and noticed that Link was still asleep. She got up and kissed him on the forehead.
He must be having a wonderful dream. She thought as she left the room to go wake up Atra for tutoring. Once she left the room she noticed the guards in front of Vera's room.
"Is she still in there?" Midna asked.
Volk nodded his head, "Yes, your majesty."
"Was there anything suspicious?"
"No, your majesty."
Once she got to Atra's room, she noticed Twila.
"Good morning Twila." Midna said, "Were you going to wake up Atra for tutoring?"
Twila turned and noticed her mother, "Oh, Mom, I didn't see you there, and yes, I was going to wake him up for tutoring."
Midna shook her head, "You just want to see Ms. Avra again, don't you?"
"Yeah, I know I can't get anything past you."
"I'm your mother, I should know these things," Midna replied.
"Just like you found out that I liked Vadt."
"I was in love with your father, so I know the signs of being in love because I made the same expressions."
"Did you know that you would fall in love with dad?" Twila asked, "I mean when you met him in the Realm of Light."
Midna shook her head, "No, I didn't even care what happened to him or anyone else in the Realm of Light."
They both walked into Atra's room, Midna shook him awake, and he woke up immediately.
"Good morning, Mom," Atra said. "And Sis, what are you doing here too?"
Midna looked at her son, "Well, I was coming to wake you up when your sister also had the same idea."
"I know she just wanted to see Ms. Avra again, not wake me up."
Midna looked at Twila and laughed, "It seems your little brother knows you pretty well too."
Atra laughed, "Yeah, I do but I know how my sister feels about Ms. Avra."
"I think you are too young to know how I feel about her."
"You misunderstood what I was trying to say," Atra said. "Ms. Avra is an excellent tutor and I like her too."
The two siblings talked to the dining hall so they could eat breakfast. Once they got to the dining hall Midna noticed that Link wasn't there.
Zert walked up to them, "Good morning, your majesty and your highnesses."
Twila nodded, "Good morning Zert."
"Good morning Zert," Atra repeated.
Zert was shocked, "Wow, that's the first time that you said my name, young prince."
Atra laughed, "I'm trying to learn how to talk more."
"Have you seen Link?" Midna asked, "He was still asleep when I left to go get Atra up for tutoring."
"He ordered some food to go." Zert replied, "He normally doesn't order food to go."
"Mom, why would dad do that?" Twila asked, then it dawned on her. "Oh, I think he ordered food for Vera."
"I think you are right," Midna agreed. "Let's wait for your father to get here before we start eating."
As soon as they sat down Link walked into the dining hall.
"Sorry, I'm late," Link said. "I had to get food for our guest."
Midna crossed her arms, "I'm so glad that you trust her."
"What you don't think she is sincere in changing her ways?"
Midna shook her head, "No, I don't."
"You of all people should know that people can change if they want to."
Midna looked down, "You're right, I of all people should just give her a chance."
"When you first met me, you mistreated me but I continued to do what you wanted." Link started, "Pretty soon you started to help me in more ways than one."
Atra looked at his parents confused. "Do you mean that you two weren't in love from the start?"
Midna walked to their son, "No, sweetie I tried to use your father to get what I wanted."
Twila nodded her head knowing the story of how they fell in love. "Isn't he too young to learn about how you two met?"
Link shook his head, "No I think we should tell him because we were going to tell you at your age but you got killed by a traitor."
Midna looked at Link quickly, "Are you sure?"
Link nodded, "Twila when you were little you were killed by one of the elders by order of a follower of Zant."
"Are you talking about Velt?" Twila asked, "Because I remember learning about him in one of Ms. Avra's final lessons to me."
Midna nodded her head, "Yes, but when we defeated him the sols granted us a wish."
"So we wished to have you back, but you were older than when you died." Link added, "We were so heartbroken when we discovered you were killed."
They left the dining room and after they dropped off Atra at Ms. Avra's, Link, Midna, and Twila walked to the throne room and sat on their thrones waiting for the elders to arrive.
Meanwhile Back in Hyrule
Zelda was writing an invitation for Link to come to her wedding.
Dear Link,
I want to invite you and your family to my wedding. I sure hope you could come because it would make me very happy. If you are not able then that is fine too.
Sincerely, Zelda,
Queen of Hyrule
"Who are you writing to love?"
"Oh, I'm inviting your cousin to our wedding," Zelda replied. "Is there something wrong with that?"
"No, but I thought he was in the Twilight Realm."
"Laluh, the Mirror of Twilight is restored so I could have it delivered to him."
Laluh shook his head, "I've never met my cousin so I wouldn't know exactly know if he would show up to our wedding."
Zelda kissed him, "Don't worry about that, Link is an excellent friend of mine and I think our wedding is a good opportunity to start an alliance with the Twilight Realm."
"Are you sure about this?" Laluh asked, "I mean the twilight invaded Hyrule and killed most of the Royal Guards that we had to start the Royal Guard over again."
"If you remember what I told you a Twili helped save our land."
"Oh, yeah the one who my cousin married."
"Ocil," Zelda called.
Ocil walked into the door, "Yes, your majesty."
"Can you take this letter to the Arbiter's Grounds and throw it into the Mirror of Twilight."
Ocil nodded his head, "Of course, your majesty right away."
In the Twilight Realm
Link was meditating in the throne room when he sensed the Mirror of Twilight being open he automatically teleported to the Temple of Twilight. He expected to find someone walking through but he saw an envelope. He picked it up.
I wonder what this is. Link thought as he opened it, he read what it said and he teleported back to the palace and he ran into Chief Elder Vegt.
"You are just the person I wanted to see," Link said. "I received a letter from Queen Zelda of Hyrule and it's an invitation for me and my family to attend her wedding."
Vegt looked at him, "So you are wondering if you could go."
"Yes, if that is alright with you."
"That is fine by me, but after the wedding, you must return directly here."
Link nodded his head in understanding. "Of course right away."
Later that afternoon
Link and Midna left to go get Atra and Twila. Once they were all together Midna looked at their two children.
"We are going to the Realm of Light to go to Queen Zelda's wedding," Midna said.
Twila and Atra looked at each other, "Really."
Link nodded his head, "I got permission from the Elders for all of us to go."
"Mother are you really sure about this," Twila asked.
Midna nodded her head, "Yes, I mean Zelda did save my life when I was first exposed to too much light."
Atra looked at his mother, "I didn't know that Zelda saved your life I thought all of the Light Dwellers were selfish."
"But, dad's not selfish." Twila said, "I mean, he did save both realms from evil."
Atra nodded his head, "Yeah, that is true but I meant other light dwellers."
"I thought they were that way too," Midna said. "Until I met Zelda and your father."
Once they made it to the Arbiter's grounds the sages greeted them.
"Welcome back, Hero of Twilight." The Shadow Sage said, "What brings you back here?"
"Zelda invited me and my family to her wedding," Link replied. "You know my wife Midna but I don't think you've met my daughter Twila and my son Atra."
"They look so adorable," The forest sage said.
The water sage agreed, "Yeah, they do."
"Dad, who are these people are they ghosts," Atra asked.
"No, they are the protectors of the Mirror of Twilight," Link replied. "At one time the were the sages who helped one of the previous heroes."
"The Hero of Time?" Twila asked.
Link nodded his head, "Yes, how did you know about the Hero of Time?"
Midna looked at him, "You don't remember telling her about the Hero of Time."
Link looked at her trying to remember when all of a sudden he remembered, "Oh, yeah I told her about it when she asked about our journey."
They teleported to Hyrule Castle. As soon as they got there they ran into Colin.
"Sir Link and Lady Midna, welcome to Hyrule Castle," Colin said bowing.
"There's no need to bow to us here," Midna said.
"I'm just being respectful," Colin said. "Her Majesty, told me that you guys are the Guests of Honor."
Link and Midna looked at each other, "Really, that is news to us."
"She didn't say in her letter," Midna said. "That would've been important to mention."
Colin looked down, "That is probably because of the person she is marrying."
"Who is she marrying?" Twila asked sensing a shocking revelation.
"Link, she is marrying your cousin."
Link and Midna's mouth dropped.
