Weiss shot up, her skin glistening from sweat as she breathed heavily. Pushing her white bangs out of the way, she scanned the room, her left hand ready to summon the blade of the Arma Gigas. Her other hand gently touched the area where she had been stabbed. She froze when she felt someone wrap their arms around her.

"Weiss, are you ok?" Missy asked softly, her voice more like a murmur. T-The dream, it felt so real. Weiss remained silent as she returned the younger girl's embrace, a sob escaping her throat before she even realized it.

She missed them all so much. She missed how Blake would get all annoyed whenever Yang would mix some of Weiss' coffee in her tea, she missed Yang's lame attempts at comedy, but most of all, she missed Ruby.

The stupid clutz who never knew when to quit, who always held onto Weiss' arm whenever they watched a scary movie. Weiss missed all of that. She struggled to control her breathing in between sobs.

Eventually, she ran out of tears to cry. Taking a deep breath, Weiss licked her salty lips. Whenever she was feeling emotions as strong as this, she poured out her emotions into song. She did that the night Winter left for the military, and whenever Father and Mother would start screaming at each other.

Hopefully Missy wouldn't think any less of her, but she really needed this. Weiss couldn't breathe.

"The truth in front of my eyes, along with all these desperate lies, fade away like they're old memories." Weiss sang into Missy's shoulder, her voice hoarse. "The warmth of someone's love, I have no feelings of, all those things I don't know anymore."

Missy said nothing, her hands patting Weiss' back.

"You told me when you left me, that I'd be fine all on my own. From your lips you spoke one last goodbye." Weiss pulled Missy closer. She didn't even get to say goodbye before she ended up in this world, the same way she couldn't say goodbye when Father came to take her home after Beacon fell. "That look of sympathy, it's nothing new to me, you would think by now that it wouldn't faze me."

Atlas high society stared at her as if she was insane for rubbing elbows with the 'poor people of Vale'.

"Merciless memories, they're ringing on so unforgivingly, they show no intent of letting me go free." Was Missy looking at her weirdly? Was she judging her? "And if I close my eyes, and try to drown them out they only grow. They're closing in, and far away you laugh."

Weiss poured her emotions out, taking deep breaths. "Will the rain falling down ever find an ending? All this time I've been waiting in the freezing cold."

She felt Missy rubbing the back of her head gently.

"Will the rain ever leave me alone, I wonder why it chose to follow me when there's nowhere I can go." Weiss' voice turned silent after that. She lost track of how long she hugged Missy, but eventually, the former heiress pulled away.

"Sorry about that." Weiss rubbed her eyelids. "I had a bad dream." Even in the dark, she refused to meet Missy's eyes. This was embarrassing.

"Don't worry, that happened to me a few times, without singing." Missy said, the last bit teasingly in an attempt to cheer her up. "Oh, and Weiss?"

"Yes?"

"Your singing is pretty."

"Thank you."

Ruby always said the same thing…

"Are you ready?" Aegis asked, his voice having just the slightest hints of an accent. He sat across from Weiss in the PRT van, with a masked officer keeping an eye on them. She stared at him blankly, her aura and makeup hiding the bags that were under her eyes.

"Of course." Weiss said dryly. Her combat skirt was quite puffy, which meant it took up some space whenever she was sitting down. She gave Myrtenaster and her gauntlet a final check. Myrtenaster wouldn't have any Dust today, which would limit her capabilities.

"We're just going to walk around the Boardwalk, and call in any disturbances we see." Aegis continued. "Being seen is important, it'll help assure everyone that we're here to protect them."

"I know." Simmons, the PRT liaison, made sure to emphasize that during the briefing, much to Weiss' displeasure. Even first years at Beacon were sent on combat missions, with supervision from an experienced huntsmen or huntress of course. Here, they were treated like little kids. Technically, all of the Wards were children, so it made sense in a weird way, but even younger students at combat academies sparred against each other.

"We'll have a good time." Aegis looked like he wanted to say more, but their van soon came to a stop.

"We'll be back in three hours to pick you two up." The PRT officer said lazily, Tucker if Weiss remembered his voice correctly. "Another van will hang around in case the both of you need help."

"Got it." Weiss stood up once the back doors opened, and used a glyph as a step-stool instead of jumping off like Carlos. She was short, not stupid, even if her aura allowed her to survive a fall from a tall building.

The Boardwalk looked the same as it did when Weiss first came here to buy clothes with the Dallon sisters, with the sidewalks better maintained and cleaner than the other areas of Brockton Bay that Weiss had observed.

Civilians spotted the duo as soon as the van drove away, with several tourist aimed their cameras towards them. Weiss formed her heiress smile and waved.

"My wrist is going to be hurting by the end of the day, won't it." Weiss gritted through her teeth, her smile stilll plasted on her face. It was an exaggeration, her aura would ensure that her body and joints would always be at their peak.

"You're popular with anyone who isn't a Nazi on PHO." Aegis said teasingly. "Or racist who hate all Germans because of them."

"How wonderful." Weiss sighed internally.

At least she brought several pens in case this happened.

Rain by Amalee, originally by SID, is the song featured in this chapter. It was added to the spotify playlist.

Weiss is totally a Disney princess now.
