Jacob's POV

"Hey dad, I've almost finished the…." I saw little baby Ethan sitting on Dad's lap as my dad fed him porridge. "Where's Rachel?" I asked furiously "She should be here looking after her own child!"

"Don't be so hard on your sister, she is going through something"

"Don't try and pass this off as postpartum depression. Rachel has been gone for two days. She's on drugs again, isn't she, Crack?" Billy let a few tears slip. "Heroin, cocaine?" Billy handed little Ethan off to Sue Clearwater, who fussed over little Ethan lots.

"Cocaine, and Methamphetamines"

Jacob dropped his head. 'This is worse than I thought' "How did you not notice, is my sister drinking too?" Billy shook his head "I'm not sure, Jacob"

"We need to contact Niklaus Mikaelson, he has a little girl with Andrea Lebonair, the queen of the crescent pack in the city of New Orleans. They are mated, married. Their daughter Hope is well adjusted. Little Ethan could do with a little playmate. You know, despite Niklaus' violent history, he is a good man who is uncle to my best friend Bella. When he screws up, he doesn't blame anyone but himself for his faults"

"Niklaus Mikaelson is a Hybrid, also he's a paranoid bastard, surely you can't suggest we bring the feared Hybrid to the reservation"

"Yes, and so what! Please don't spill all that prejudice to me after what our people have been through in the civil war through till the eighties. We need an Alpha. Niklaus and Andrea are Alphas also I think he will be happy to help Rachel into Rehab. You can't cope with an infant, you'll try. But Ethan is Rachel's son. Rachel should be here facing up to her responsibilities. Postpartum is an illness, yes but she should have turned to the tribe for spiritual counselling before she spiralled further! Dad, she's self-medicating"

"So, who will look after my only grandson?" Billy asked incredulously

"Bella and Damon"

"No way! Not a chance in hell!" Billy spat "They are vampires, Jacob" he sighed

"And they also have more control than the average vampire, Bella is a witch and a vampire. She is a physical and mental shield that she activated by being turned by her soulmate. They are looking for a surrogate"

"And what if, the gods forbid, that little Ethan gets turned into a vampire/shifter hybrid by Damon and Bella, if they end up giving him a few drops of blood as an insurance policy"

"Better that than a cold one shifter, don't you think?"

My father, the tribal chief, Billy Black sat back and had a good think. "Rachel is his mother. Damon and Bella will have him for six months, no more than, and Niklaus is offering to put Rachel into Rehab, all expenses paid. We will take his generous offer. It's the only way to save my daughter. You've always been a good son, it's time for you to live your life with your wife now" He held my face between his hands then and brought me to tears as he hugged me.

Damon's POV

Mia Bella's phone kept ringing. Why was it ringing? Oh, that won't do, we were sleeping after three rounds of amazing euphoric sex. Someone is always the cockblocker. "Answer the phone, Damon, my love, before the ringing gets more persistent" Bella mumbled as she pulled the pillow over her ears "You know that doesn't work, right, what with our super-sensitive hearing, and all that" Bella smacked my shoulder. I grin "Ciao, Amico Lupo" I say to Jacob in greeting.

"Hi Damon, can I speak to Bella, please?" the guy almost whined "Yes, you can, here she is" I passed the phone to Mia Bella, and she scowls, then rolls her eyes.

"Hi Jake, you do realise it's 5 am in the morning here in Tokyo?"

"I know sister-friend, but I wouldn't call if it wasn't important, just hear me out, okay" Jacob said in frustration. "Okay, Jake, what's up?"

"It's Rachel, my sister came back pregnant from Seattle and no sooner than she had Ethan, after he was three months old, she was back out on the benders and all-nighters, leaving her son with Sue and my dad"

"Oh no, Jakey, that poor kid" Bella almost cried "I think she's a drug addict too"

My jaw dropped listening to that conversation and quickly typed off a text to Klaus, the ultimate Alpha and explained the situation as best as possible.

He replied via text that he would take Andrea, Hope to the reservation, pay for the rehab clinic, and help Jake track his sister. I took the phone from Bella and spoke to Jacob.

"You are a good friend to both of us Jake, we'll be there in two days"

I could almost hear Jake's sigh of relief.

"Thank you, you two are my saviours"

"Don't I know it?" I rolled my eyes as Jake hung up and Bella passed me the phone "Damon, my lovely husband, can you book us two seats on an Emirates business class flight or first class?" I gave her a kiss. "I can do better than that, Mia Bella." I clicked on the SOS Jet App on my iPhone and booked two first class flights on an environmentally friendly private jet. It was a hybrid engine and Bella laughed loudly when I told her. "Uncle Klaus will love that!" I chuckled loudly with her then rolled us both over "When is check-out, Mia Bella"

"Two pm, why?"

"Because I plan to rock your world, sexy girl" I nuzzled her neck

Bella's POV

"The hotel is too public, baby, we talked about this" I started crying and Damon put his arms around me "It's okay, Mia Bella" I was crying a lot lately. God's, why was I such a cry-baby lately? "I don't want to kill people" I sobbed into his chest. Damon rubbed my back. "One blood bag, two?" I nodded my head at two "Okay, coming right up" Damon quickly pulled his t-shirt and jeans on.

"You okay now, Mia Bella"

"I'm fine, you have to eat too, go on" I shooed him from our luxury suite, and he kissed me as he went out the door.

In Forks…

Jacobs POV

The car arrived with Niklaus, Andrea and little Hope Mikaelson. The thousand-year-old original hybrid was going to help me track my little sister. "Jacob, good to see you again, mate" Klaus shook my hand "You remember my mate, my wife Andrea, do you remember my little Hope?" Hope toddled up to me as Klaus put her on the ground and I took her tiny hand then hoisted her into my arms.

"Yeah, she shifted into a wolf pup when she was two months old, didn't you, yes, you are a clever little wolf" I laughed as she gave me a big smacker on the cheek.

"I would like to thank you for coming all this way, Mr Mikaelson" my dad said uneasily. "And I am delighted to meet this little one" Billy chuckled as Hope hid her face in Jacob's chest "Aah, I see, Hope already has a favourite"

"Yep, I'm her best pal, alright" I smiled at Hope as I tweaked her nose.

"Sorry to call in the Calvary, but my sister has gone right off the rails. She needs Rehab and a detox programme, like today. I was hoping that you and Andrea would help me track her with your extra-sensitive hearing. Damon and Bella have agreed to take Ethan to Port Angeles and foster him for a while. They've purchased a house there"

"Andrea, what do you think?" Klaus asked his mate "Can we track her?"

"If I have her top from the laundry and hybrid wolves have a higher sense of smell"

"Excellent, so we'll help you track her to the various dives and bars that she now frequents, often" Klaus decreed "Or we could have my sister Freya do a locator spell? It just so happens she is travelling with us" Klaus grinned and opened the door for Freya, who stood tall, looking every inch the high priestess that she was. Freya was now the regent of all nine covens in New Orleans since she had returned from her enslavement to Dahlia. She was highly respected, and the other witches did not dare piss her off.

"Hello, I'm Regent Freya Mikaelson, the eldest sister of the Mikaelsons" she said nervously.

"Also, she's just over one-thousand years old" Klaus put in his ten-cents worth.

"Niklaus!" Andrea hissed and elbowed him "Sorry about him, he's being his usual darkish, insensitive 'selfish' dick, as per usual" Klaus scowled as Freya chuckled at his 'behaviour'

"Dada, bad, naudy" Hope blurted out "Woah" Sue laughed "that's it Hope, call out papa wolf on being naughty"

Sue and Andrea laughed a little until Klaus' eyes flashed amber gold. And his double fangs started to come out. "I'll be the big bad wolf, if you so wish it, my littlest wolf. Will you and Jacob join me?" Niklaus tweaked Hope's nose as he passed her to her mother. "Andrea, my sweet mate, will you join me?" she smirked, and nodded as Klaus' bones started to crack and proceeded to join him. Hope was the last to shift to a wolf pup. Hope then climbed up Andrea's silver coat and snuggled into a furball. Jacob just busted out laughing then phased as Billy's and Sue's mouth dropped open at the youngest shifter they had seen. "Oh gods, who is the sweetest little wolf shift I have ever seen" she let a few tears slip as she thought of Leah and Seth, they were fourteen and sixteen. They were young, but this was the first time the tribe had ever seen a sixteen-month-old toddler shift.
