Calamity: 100 Years Later

100 years after Calamity Ganon struck and destroyed Hyrule, an amnesiac Link wakes up and finds himself on a quest to defeat Ganondorf. He meets new friends along the way, but he has much to overcome, and much to remember.

11. Battle in the Divine Beast Vah Medoh

Calamity: 100 Years Later: Chapter 12: Battle in the Divine Beast Vah Medoh

Link and Teba had just flown high into the air where Divine Beast Vah Medoh was.

"All right, it's showtime! Man, even I feel like I'm freezing up here. I see Medoh has its barrier up. You see those cannons? I'll draw their fire while you use your bomb arrows to destroy them. Are you ready?", asked Teba.

"Let's go!", said Link.

"Good!", said Teba. Teba let Link go and Link started gliding with the Paraglider, with the winds of the area keeping him from falling. Link destroyed the cannons on all sides of Medoh, destroying the barrier around Medoh.

"Well done, Link! That thing is history!", said Teba as he flew beside Link.

"Bad news, Link. It looks like I got hit pretty bad back there... I just hope... I can make it back. You head down to Medoh. Good luck!", said Teba. Teba flew off to the Flight Range while Link glided down to Medoh.

Link found a pedestal similar to the one on Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Link put the Sheikah Slate up to the pedestal, causing a part of the Divine Beast to glow blue. Suddenly, a voice spoke.

"Well now, I've seen that face before... I had a feeling you would show up eventually. But making me wait a hundred years is a bit... indulgent.", said the voice. The voice was coming from Revali.

"You're here to wrest control of Medoh away from Ganon, correct? If so, then the first thing you'll want to do is find you a map. That Guidance Stone has information for the layout of this Divine Beast. Can you make it there?", asked Revali.

Link walked over to a part of the Divine Beast where a chest was. Link opened the chest and found sapphire. Link put the sapphire into the Sheikah Slate and headed to the Guidance Stone.

Link put the Sheikah Slate into the Guidance Stone, and the Guidance Stone dropped a liquid onto the Sheikah Slate, putting in a map of the Divine Beast Vah Medoh.

"You'll need to look closely at the map of your Divine Beast. The terminals that will activate Medoh are marked by those glowing points. You'll need to activate all the terminals to take back control. Think you're up to it?", asked Revali.

Link walked out of the area where the Guidance Stone was and made his way to the first terminal. Link noticed that the terminal was blocked off by a gate and that the only way to access it was to get the other metal block with a fan on it to touch the other metal block.

Link tilted the Divine Beast in another direction and used Magnesis to bring the metal block and fan over to the other metal block and fan. He then used Stasis to hit the big object in the way, causing it to hit the switch the object was by, opening the terminal gate. Link walked up to the terminal and authenticated the Sheikah Slate.

"There are four terminals remaining! Still a ways to go.", said Revali.

Link then walked over to another part of the Divine Beast and found a terminal blocked off by Malice. Link used arrows and a bow to clear the Malice, giving him a clear shot to the terminal. Link then authenticated the slate using the terminal.

"There are three terminals remaining! Keep going.", said Revali.

Link then noticed a tube where he could put Remote Bombs in. Link put in a Remote Bomb and blew up the rocks covering up the switch. Link then tilted the Divine Beast and put another bomb in, causing rocks to break, revealing a metal ball. Link used Magnesis and tilted the Divine Beast to make the ball hit the switch, opening the gate to the terminal room.

Link authenticated the Sheikah Slate using the terminal. "There are two terminals remaining. You're almost there.", said Revali. Link then tilted the Divine Beast and headed outside the Divine Beast to a cage which he could travel in. Link fired an arrow at the Malice eyeball surrounding the area and once the Malice cleared, he went to the terminal and authenticated the Sheikah Slate.

"Just one more terminal remaining. What do you know?", said Revali.

Link then tilted the Divine Beast again and glided to the last terminal and authenticated the Sheikah Slate.

"That was the last terminal! Now you just need to start the main control unit! I want you to take a good look at your map. There should be a new glowing point on there. Well? Flap to it!", said Revali.

Link then tilted the Divine Beast again and made his way to the main control unit. Link put the slate up to the main control unit, causing Malice to come out of it. The Malice revealed Windblight Ganon in all its evil glory.

"Good luck! That thing is one of Ganon's own, and it plays dirty. It defeated me 100 years ago... but only because I was winging it. I can't believe I'm actually saying this... But you must avenge me, Link!", said Revali.

"His aim is dead on! Watch yourself!", said Revali.

Windblight Ganon fired lasers at link, while Link fired bomb arrows at Windblight Ganon, succeeding every hit.

Link then attacked Windblight Ganon using a knight's broadsword. Then, Windblight Ganon started to spawn bombs from itself and threw them at Link. Link attacked using bomb arrows and the same knight's broadsword, and eventually, Windblight Ganon was defeated.

Link received another Heart Container and walked up to the main control unit, putting the slate up to it.

"Well, I'll be plucked... You defeated him, eh? Who would've thought...", said Revali.

"Well done. I suppose I should thank you now that my spirit is free. This returns Medoh back to its rightful owner. Don't preen yourself just for doing your job. I do suppose you've proven your value as a warrior. A warrior worthy of my ability-The sacred skill that I have dubbed Revali's Gale!", said Revali as he gave Revali's Gale to Link.

Link backflipped and landed back on the ground of the Divine Beast. "It's now time to move on and start making preparations for Medoh's strike on Ganon. But only if you think you'll still need my help while you're fighting inside Hyrule Castle. Feel free to thank me now. Or, never mind. Just go.", said Revali.

"The princess has been waiting an awful long time.", said Revali to Link before Link was teleported out of the Divine Beast.

The Divine Beast then perched its legs on a rock formation, and aimed its laser right at Hyrule Castle.

"Medoh's sights are now set. You'll have a precise bead on Ganon from this vantage point. And when the time is right, give him everything you've got! Now we wait for that perfect moment... Medoh, we've been artfully patient for the last 100 years. I doubt you'll suffer a feather over a few more moments. After all these years, I must simply admit the truth... Even without the power of flight, Link made his way to this Divine Beast. And accomplished something that even I could not. Guess I was wrong about... how lucky he would be. I hope that luck holds out, Link... For everyone's sake.", said Revali.

Link was brought back to Revali's Landing. He walked into the room of the elder of Rito Village.

"You have done it! And survived at that! You conquered Divine Beast Vah Medoh! The Divine Beast sitting on the rock formation above looks simply Divine. I guess you were a Hylian champion after all. Although, you lack the darkness sealing sword.", said the elder.

Link made his way back to the stable outside Rito Village and back to Epona. He had now just conquered another Divine Beast and earned another Champion ability. Now, he had two more to conquer, more memories to remember, and more to obtain. Link made his way out of Rito Village and in the direction of Kakariko Village.
