Instead, her expression changes into one of concern. As she notices the stiches upon Emma's face.

"What happened to you?" she then says seriously, gesturing to Emma's face and she steps forward, to take a closer look.

"Oh, there was trouble down at the rabbit hole. And I got hit in the face with a bottle" Emma explains and her breath hitches, at how close Regina is to her and she can smell the mayor's expensive perfume.

"What were you doing down at the rabbit hole?" Regina then asks, confused.

"I um, I was working and got called down there" she answers and swallows thickly.

"I see" Regina then says and she suddenly realizes that she is rather close to Emma, and she steps back. "Please come inside" she then adds, and Emma just nods and follows.

Once inside, Regina leads Emma to the kitchen and she notices, that Regina has gone to some effort, for their night together.

As, the mayor is dressed in a stunning tight red dress that hugs all the right places, and she has also had her hair cut a little shorter.

Regina then pours Emma a glass of cider and hands it to her.

"I hope dinner is not ruined because of me" Emma then says and Regina shakes her head.

"It's not your fault and I can always reheat the food, if you are still hungry?"

"Yeah, that would be great, I am always hungry" she smiles at Regina and then adds "I hope you don't mind me saying, but you look really nice tonight, and I like what you've done with your hair"

Regina then smiles widely, and she begins to blush. Clearly pleased that Emma noticed.

"Thank you" she replies a little bashfully, and Emma can tell that Regina is pleased.

"I actually feel underdressed. I should have gone home and changed first" Emma then says with a frown.

"Don't worry about that. I'm just glad that you are here now. That is all that matters"

This makes Emma smile.

"I'm just going to get everything ready" Regina then says and then busies herself around the kitchen.

"Do you need any help?" Emma offers.

"No, It's fine. It won't be long"

"Okay. So, how has your day been?" Emma asks, as she watches Regina.

"Busy. I've been shopping, dropped Henry off at his friends and a dozen other things"

"Well, hopefully the rest of the evening will be more of a relaxing one"

Regina smiles.

"I'm sure it will be"

Twenty minutes later, Emma puts her cutlery down upon her empty plate.

"That was so good Regina. You could open your own restaurant and I'd be there every day"

Regina chuckles.

"Well, if I ever give up politics. I'll look into it" she then says and goes to stand up to take their plates to the kitchen, but Emma gets there before her.

"No, you go sit down and I'll take these. You deserve a rest"

Regina then smiles.

"Are you sure?" she then says and Emma nods.

"Yeah, it's no problem really" Emma smiles and then goes to take their plates to the kitchen. Whilst Regina grabs her glass of wine and makes her way to the lounge and sits down upon the sofa.

Five minutes later, Emma returns, and Regina raises an eyebrow at her.

"What took you so long? I thought, you may have got pulled into a vortex or something"

Emma chuckles.

"I was washing up"

"You didn't have to do that"

"I know, but I wanted too"

"Well, thank you"

"No problem" Emma then sits next to Regina.

"So, what are we watching?" Emma then asks and Regina hands her the control to the tv.

"Anything, you choose" Regina replies, as she leans back and closes her eyes for a moment, whilst Emma begins to flick through the channels.

"Oh, have you seen this before? It's just started" Emma asks and looks sideways at Regina, who now opens her eyes and looks to the tv.

"No, what is it?" she then answers.

"It's a film, When Harry met Sally"

"What is it about?"

"Well, it's about two people, a man and a woman, who have chance encounters over many years in New York and stuff happens"

Regina quirks an eyebrow.

"Stuff?" she then replies sarcastically.

"Yeah, If I told you anymore, it would ruin the movie for you" Emma smiles at her.

"Hmm, okay" Regina smiles back and they then settle back into the sofa and start watching the movie together.

A little while in, after Harry and Sally share a ride back to New York and have different views on relationships. They part on unfriendly terms.

"Typical man" she then comments and Emma chuckles.

"Do you think that men and women, cannot be friends as "the sex part gets in the way?" she then asks Regina.

"I think, women can be friends with men, but men, generally just want to have sex"

"Yeah, I can agree with that"

"We finally agree on something?" she says with smile, as she stares at Emma and the blonde rolls her eyes playfully.

"I think, your find that we agree on a lot of things"

"Like what?" Regina asks, in curiosity.

"Henry"

"And what else?"

"Um, that my mom is a little overbearing?"

Regina scoffs.

"A little? more like over the top" she then says seriously and Emma chuckles.

"Okay, she is over the top sometimes. Especially where my love life is concerned"

"Is she still trying to marry you off, to one of the towns singletons?"

Emma nods.

"She actually thinks Killian is a good guy"

Regina then nearly chokes on her wine at this and Emma pats her back.

"You, okay?" Emma asks in concern.

"Yes, thanks. Your mother needs to open her eyes. I've known Killian, for a lot longer than her and he has very questionable morals"

"I know"

"Is he still bothering you?" Regina then asks.

"I haven't seen him, since your birthday party"

"Well, if he starts bothering you again. You come tell me"

"Why? what would you do about it?" she then asks, in curiosity.

"I'd like to send him to another realm, kicking and screaming" she smirks and Emma chuckles.

"I bet; you'd take great pleasure in that"

"I would"

They then smile at one another, before looking back to the movie.

A while later, they reach the part where Harry and Sally met again, and they end up agreeing to pursue a friendship. They have late-night phone conversations, go to dinner, and spend time together discussing their love-lives.

"Oh, I can see where this is heading" Regina then comments with a smirk and Emma looks to her and smiles.

"That obvious huh?"

"Hmm"

They then, look back to the Tv and after another short time, Harry and Sally set each other up with their best friends.

All four of them, then go to a restaurant. Where their dates fall for one another and end up leaving Harry and Sally and they jump into a cab together.

This makes Regina laugh and Emma can't help but smile, as she loves hearing Regina laugh.

But once the scene, where Harry is comforting Sally over her finding out about her ex-husband is remarrying, Emma swallows thickly.

She doesn't know why she should feel awkward, about what is about to happen in the next scene, but she does, and she dare not look at Regina.

"Oh" she then hears Regina say, and she can't help but chuckle at that, whilst a hint of a blush appears upon her cheeks.

The scene, then moves on to Harry leaving the next morning without a word and the friendship cools again.

This makes Regina rolls her eyes.

"What an idiot" she says out loud and Emma smirks.

However, by the end of the movie, Harry and Sally end up getting married and there are segments of older couples discussing how they met. The True stories, And the final couple interviewed, before the closing credits, is Harry and Sally.

"Was that really a true story?" Regina asks in surprise.

"I don't think it was totally true. They just took inspiration from their story and went from there"

"I see"

"Anyway" Emma then stands up "I need to use the bathroom; I'll be right back"

Regina then nods, before getting up and helping herself to another drink.

And when Emma returns, she looks sideways to see Emma sitting back down next to her.

"So, are you enjoying the evening so far?" Emma asks.

"It is acceptable" Regina smirks at Emma and the blonde pouts.

"You're cute, when you do that" Regina then says and Emma's eyes widen.

"You think, I'm cute?" she then says in disbelief.

"Sometimes." Regina smirks into her glass.

"I guess, I'll take that as a compliment. It's better than being called an idiot"

"I don't mean any malice, when I call you an idiot. Not anymore" Regina then tells her seriously.

"Really?"

"Yes, we've come a long way, Emma. Look at as tonight. We have had dinner together and watched a movie. Not long ago, we were fighting and barely speaking to one another. We certainly weren't friends"

"Yeah" Emma sighs and she then reaches a hand over to Regina's free one, and she takes it within her own and adds "I am glad we moved past all the crap and are friends now. You have come to mean a lot to me, and I would like us to have more nights like tonight"

Regina's eyes then soften, as she melts at Emma's words and she squeezes Emma's hand, whilst looking into Emma's eyes.

"I am sure, that can be arranged" she then replies with a wide smile, and she can't help but feel the butterflies, that are now flapping around within her stomach.

As they tell her, that she is falling for this amazing woman, who is sitting next to her...
