Narcissa opened her eyes and gasped. She was no longer surrounded by the suffocating waves of water. Instead she appeared to be in Calypso's hut. Or something like it. The details of the hut itself seemed to shift in a dreamlike fashion.

"Yo have served me well," said a voice from behind her and she turned to see Calypso has she had looked when bound in human form.

"Calypso," she said bowing her head in reverence. Narcissa figured it was best not to piss off the all-powerful sea deity. Even if she was also already dead.

"I thought we freed you," she asked the dark-skinned woman

"Yes. Yo and your father freed me and in exchange I help you and witty Jack beat Davy Jones." there was a slightly sad look in Calypso's eyes at the mention of the previous Captain of the Dutchman.

"And we were grateful. My family is alive because of your help."

"And your sacrifice," interjected Calypso. Narcissa shrugged.

"I did what needed to be done for the sake of those I loved."

"Indeed. And yo abided by the duty of the Dutchman. Te guide the souls once cursed to wander."

"Well, I saw what happened when one didn't follow the rules. What is your point? The curse damning the souls to wander is lifted. The Dutchman no longer needs a Captain."

"I reward those who are faithful to me," said Calypso mysteriously as she walked closer towards Narcissa placing a hand over the red head's heart.

"In return for the fidelity yo have shown I give you your freedom and your mortality."

"What?" asked Narcissa her brow furrowing. Calypso smiled mysteriously and began to go out of focus.

"Go."

Henry was walking along the beach with Carina the two of them chatting and holding hands. It had been 3 months since his aunt sacrificed herself and the crews of the Pearl and the Dutchman had stayed moored in Saint Lucien's harbor.

Over the past several months Carina had grown much closer to Henry as well as to her father. They'd taken the time to mourn and get to know each other.

Now finished with it's repairs the Dutchman was planning to leave the following morning after a tribute to Narcissa that was to be held tonight. The Pearl was also planning to take it's leave on the morrow. Who was to Captain it was also still up in the air apparently.

Despite this plans for her and Henry were still unclear. She wanted to stay with her father but wasn't sure what Henry wanted to do. She had just opened her mouth to bring up the subject when something up ahead caught her eye.

A red-haired figure lay prone on the beach.

"Henry! Someone's washed ashore!" she exclaimed and they ran towards the figure. Dropping to her knees Carina pushed away the hair covering the woman's face and gasped.

"Narcissa!" Carina felt for a pulse and found one.

"She's alive!"

"I'll get mother and father!" exclaimed Henry running back up the beach.

"Narcissa! Narcissa!" said Carina shaking the woman who stirred and then sat up coughing.

"Carina?" the red head asked

"Yes its me!" said Carina hugging her sister who weakly returned the embrace and let out a sigh of relief.

"I'm back."

Henry couldn't believe it. His aunt was alive. He raced back to the house skidding into the sitting room where his parents sat with Captain Barbossa.

"Beach...Narcissa...Alive..." he gasped. In an instant the adults were on their feet and his father followed him back down to the beach shouting instructions at his mother back over his shoulder.

They reached the beach to find Narcissa somewhat conscious but clearly weak.

"Cissa!"

"Hello, Will," she breathed out.

"Let's get you up to the house," said Will and despite protests from Narcissa he scooped up the red-head and carried her back up to the house.

"How?" asked Carina. Finally voicing the question she presumed everyone else was wondering. Narcissa was seated at the kitchen table with a bowl of soup and a glass of wine in front of her. Her sister smiled and looked over at their father.

"Calypso." she answered before spooning some soup into her mouth.

"But I thought you two freed her and then she turned into a horde of crabs," said Henry's father in confusion.

"I'm sorry crabs? And who is Calypso?" asked Carina thoroughly confused.

"Another of my parent's adventures," explained Henry.

"Calypso is the goddess of the sea and as William there stated your sister and I freed her from her human form 20 years ago." Carina's father said. This only slightly alleviated some of Carina's confusion.

"Cissy. We need more than a one word explanation," commented Elizabeth her arm wrapped securely around Narcissa's shoulders. Narcissa shrugged.

"I can't rightly explain it. But the last thing I recall when I was alive was taking down that bastard Salazar. Then I had some strange dream where Calypso said she was rewarding me for my loyalty, also known as not slacking off on my duty with the Dutchman, and that she was giving me back my life and mortality."

"But its been three months. Why the time lapse?" asked Elizabeth.

"Its not fer us to know how the goddess's powers work. What matters is she's back and she won't be pulling any of that self-sacrificing nonsense if she ever wants to step foot on a ship again." This last part was said by in a very pointed manner by their father. Narcissa sighed.

"I'm not apologizing Daddy and I'd do it again if I had to," the red head held up a hand to forestall further argument. "BUT as I have no wish to waste my third shot at life I promise to attempt to keep the "self-sacrificing nonsense" to a minimum.

"You know that's the best promise you're going to get from her," said Henry's father with a fond sigh glancing at Barbossa who also nodded.

"Aye. That be true." Carina took a seat on the other side of Narcissa and grasped her hand.

"I'm just glad you're back."

"As am I." said Narcissa softly as she squeezed Carina's hand. Then she quirked a ginger brow. "Although didn't father tell you resurrections run in the family?" This caused laughter to erupt from the rest of the room and Carina smiled.

"I take it there's a story behind that too?" Narcissa grinned.

"Oh you have no idea. And I can't wait to share it with you. But now I've got a question for you all."

"Oh?" said Henry. Narcissa smirked.

"So tell me, what's become of my ship?"

To say she was happy to be alive was an understatement. I mean it was obviously preferable to being dead. But to be able to be back with her family, to hold them in her arms, and to most importantly have a chance with the sister she had only just discovered was the best feeling in the world.

And now she was on her way to crash her own memorial service.

It seemed Calypso had returned her just in time one day later and he ship would have sailed off. She now approached the Dutchman. She could see the full crew was gathered on deck with Flint up at the helm. He was speaking and nobody noticed her approach.

"Captain Davis was the best Captain any pirate could ever wish for. She was fearless, loyal, and above all she cared about each of us as if we were her own family."

There were murmurs of agreement and Narcissa felt her heart break a little.

"The Dutchman will never be the same without her and as the next Captain I doubt I'll fully be able to fill the hole her death has left..." Flint continued.

"Well then it's a good thing you won't have to isn't it Mr. Flint," she called out. There were gasps as the crew all turned to face her. There was shocked silence finally broken by Henry Zimmer who stepped forward tentatively.

"Captain? Is it really you?" Narcissa smiled.

"Aye that it is. And I see you sir managed to get my ship into quite a nasty state," she said address Mr. Flint as she walked towards him. "Although I must say you at least had the decency to repair it." Flint chuckled at her mock serious tone.

"My deepest apologies Captain. I shall attempt to do better in the future."

"See that you do. I presume there are no objections to me taking back command?" the question was answered with many "no ma'am's"

"It's all yours Captain," said Flint stepping to the side as he grasped Narcissa's hand before she turned to address the rest of the crew.

"Now I know this was meant to be a wake but given the circumstances I feel we ought to make it more of a celebration!" Flint raised his tankard.

"To the Captain!"

"To the Captain!" shouted the crew raising their cups in kind.

"To the greatest crew a Captain could wish for." called Narcissa raising the cup of wine Flint handed her before taking a long drink and grinning. She really was back.
