Mario and Zelda: When Worlds Collide: Chapter 12: To the Desert
It was daytime in Boo Woods. Mario and the rest had just made it back from the Mega Mushroom Mall with the computer for E. Gadd after a battle with King Wart and the 8-bits.
"Well, good thing we got the computer. Maybe Gadd can track a Power Star's location on this thing.", said Mario.
"If I may ask, what is a computer?", asked Link.
"It's like a device that holds information of everything on Earth from presidents, kings, queens, ancient societies, etc.", said Mario.
"That is so cool, Mario!", said Link.
"The Sheikah Slate we have can store photos, motion pictures, and notes/logs.", said Zelda.
"That slate you have is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.", said Luigi.
"Thanks, Luigi!", said Zelda.
"No problem.", said Luigi.
The heroes had finally arrived back at Gadd's laboratory. Mario knocked on the door to the lab and Gadd answered the door.
"Well if it isn't my friends and the two elf people back with my computer!", said E. Gadd.
"We meant to get it to you earlier, but we had a battle with King Wart and the 8-bits.", said Mario.
"So that's what took so long. I was getting worried you got lost on your way here.", said E. Gadd.
"So, Gadd, can this computer track Power Stars?", asked Luigi.
"Why yes it can, Luigi! It can track the location of any Power Star that falls from the sky.", said E. Gadd.
"That's good to know Mr. Gadd.", said Link.
"Let me just set plug in the computer and boot it up.", said E. Gadd.
E. Gadd then plugged in the computer and booted it up. After creating a password, Gadd transferred his data from his old computer into his new one, and used the Power Star tracker to track a Power Star. Eventually, Gadd got a reading for where a Power Star was.
"Looks like a Power Star has landed in the Desert Kingdom.", said E. Gadd.
"Oh man, we're gonna need to prepare for the weather there.", said Mario.
"Don't worry Mario. I've got desert clothes in the Sheikah Slate.", said Link.
Link then took the Gerudo voe clothes and put them on, while Zelda put on the Gerudo vai clothes.
"So that's what people in your world dress up in for deserts?", asked Luigi.
"Why yes it is. These clothes are made by the Gerudo tribe.", said Zelda.
"Well, I'll change into my desert clothes and Luigi will too.", said Mario.
Mario and Luigi then walked to another room in the lab and changed into their desert clothes.
"Alright, we're ready to go!", said Luigi.
The heroes exited the lab and made their way to the desert. The heroes found a warp pipe that led straight to the desert. It was a hot day in the desert as usual. Cacti filled with water surrounded the area, as well as pyramids and Pokeys.
"Jeez, this place sure is hot!", said Link.
"You said it, Link! This is hotter than the Gerudo desert!", said Zelda.
"Alright, according to Gadd, the star is somewhere here in the desert.", said Mario.
"Maybe it's in that pyramid.", said Luigi.
"Good thinking, Luigi! Let's go into it!", said Mario.
The heroes entered the pyramid and saw a horde of Goombas roaming the pyramid. Mario and Luigi stomped on the Goombas, poofing them out of existence.
"Wow, so that's how you defeat those brown things.", said Link.
"Those brown creatures are called Goombas.", said Luigi.
"Right, right. Got it!", said Link.
The heroes decided to split up and look for the star. Mario and Link went to the left while Luigi and Zelda went to the right.
Mario and Link made it to an area where there was no floor to walk on, nothing else except the sand of the pyramid.
"Just follow my lead, Link.", said Mario.
"Okay, Mario.", said Link.
Mario ran back and then forward and triple jumped over to the other platform. Link ran back and then forward and glided over to the platform that Mario was standing on.
"Good job, Link!", said Mario.
"Thanks Mario!", said Link.
"You're welcome!", said Mario.
Meanwhile, Zelda and Luigi were walking when they saw a Mummy Thwomp moving up and down.
"We can use this Thwomp to get up to the next part of the pyramid. Just follow my lead.", said Luigi.
Luigi and Zelda grabbed onto the Thwomp and lifted themselves up, and then jumped over to the platform above them.
"So, are you and Link like, dating?", asked Luigi.
"I would say yes, but me and Link haven't focused on our romance ever since we arrived in this world.", said Zelda.
"Seems like you two are a match made in Heaven.", said Luigi.
"You could say that. Originally, I was very harsh to Link when we first met because I was jealous of him and I thought that having an appointed knight wasn't necessary. But one day, he saved my life and I apologized to him. We grew closer until the Calamity happened and he was in a slumber for 100 years.", said Zelda.
"Wow, I didn't know that you were harsh to Link at first.", said Luigi.
"I regret every time I ignored him and treated him like he was garbage.", said Zelda.
"Well, it's all ancient history now. You apologized and grew close with him. He still loves you regardless of how you treated him.", said Luigi.
"You're probably right, Luigi.", said Zelda.
Just then, Luigi got a message on his phone from Mario. It said that the Power Star was in a room him and Link had found. Luigi and Zelda made their way to the room.
All of a sudden, the two rock formations arose from their position and revealed themselves to be Eyerok.
"Uh oh, it's Eyerok! They're a creature that are two hands made of rocks with eyes on the bottom of the palm on the hands.", said Mario.
"Who wake? Seal ancient ones? We no like intruders. We fight, hand to hand combat!", said Eyerok.
Eyerok began attacking the heroes and Mario and Luigi punched the eyes of Eyerok. Eyerok then grabbed Mario and Luigi and tossed them around the pit they were on and threatened to throw them off the pit.
Link took his chance and used the Master Sword to attack Eyerok. He and Zelda both fought Eyerok using swords and eventually won the battle.
"You good warriors. We sorry we attack. We go sleep now!", said Eyerok as they disappeared leaving behind a Power Star.
"Alright, we got the next Power Star!", said Mario.
"Now it's off to Gadd's lab to put in the Teleporting Titan!", said Luigi.
The heroes walked out of the pyramid and headed to the warp pipe that lead to Boo Woods was.
The heroes entered the warp pipe and were transported back to Boo Woods. The heroes walked up to E. Gadd's lab and knocked on the door.
"You're back with a Power Star! I knew you guys could do it!", said E. Gadd.
"Here's the star Gadd. Now put it in the TT.", said Mario.
"Yes yes Mario.", said E. Gadd.
E. Gadd put the star in the TT and the power percentage went up significantly.
"Is it full of power yet?", asked Luigi.
"Well, it's got more power, but it needs another star to get more power to open a portal.", said E. Gadd.
"Guess our work is never done.", said Mario.
What the heroes did not know however, is that Kamek was spying on them from outside.
"So, they're working on a machine to send the elf people home along with Ganondorf. I've got to warn his evilness about this!", said Kamek as he flew off into the sky to Bowser's Castle.
Bowser's Castle
It was a hot afternoon in Bowser's castle. Ganondorf was working on the machine in a room in the castle.
Bowser knocked on the door to the room. "Ganon, are you almost done yet?", asked Bowser.
"Almost, still got a lot of parts to put in.", said Ganondorf.
"Good!", said Bowser.
It was then that Kamek had came to Bowser. "Your rottenness, the Mario Bros. and the elf people are working on a machine to send Ganondorf back home as well as the elf people.", said Kamek.
"What?! We need to prepare for another attack on the Mushroom Kingdom. Load the airships and get the Koopa soldiers ready, Kamek.", said Bowser.
"Yes your gnarliness.", said Kamek.
