The Dinobots stared at Brainstorm with complete shock and bewilderment after the major bomb he dropped on them, Sludge was the first to speak up "I'm sorry my audio receptors are still messed up could you repeat that crazy sentence?"
"What do you mean you created that thing, why?!"Grimlock exclaimed trying to control his anger "I did it for science."Brainstorm responded calmly "For sci...are you kidding me right now?!"Swoop exclaimed in anger "No I'm not the Predacons were interesting creatures that we know very little about."
"Oh we know enough about the Predacons,they are barbaric monsters that preyed on our ansestors,and you brought one of those monsters back to life you son of a...!"Swoop exclaimed in fury trying to attack Brainstorm but Snarl held him back.
As much as Grimlock wanted Swoop to kick the sprockets out he wanted Brainstorm to explain himself "Stand down Swoop let Brainstorm explain himself, when did you create it?"
"Firstly The Predacon isn't an It, it's a he, His name is Emberblaze."Brainstorm said making Slug roll his optics "seriously you gave it a name?" "Yes."Brainstorm firmly "Fine whatever, when did you create Emberblaze?"Grimlock repeated Brainstorm looked at the ground for a second before looking back at the Dinobots, "A few...thousand years ago."Brainstorm rather hesantly The Dinobots stared at him with disbelief as they processed that sentence.
"A few thousand years?!"Swoop exclaimed in shock trying to get to him but Slug wouldn't let him "Yes you see it was a little bit before this war happened, you guys remember the energon mine collapse in Protihex?"
The Dinobots knew that incident well, apparently a bunch of energon miners that were digging in a nearly depleted mine got trapped when the mine collapsed all around them and the floor gave out in the process plunging the minors nearly 100 feet down, they were trapped for 7 hours before they were rescued.
"Yeah why?"Slug asked "Then you all remembered the Predacon fossil they found down there it of course was the fossil of Emberblaze's predecessor. The Dinobots remembered that too it was rather interesting news.
"It was sent to the Iacon science center where I was working at, where I had the opportunity to study it and I became so facinated by the fossil specimen double by my facination of the Predacon species and with the recent proof that cloning a long deceased being is possible,I wanted to bring back a Predacon to study it and see what really made them really tick, I begged the high council to allow me to clone a Predacon but they refused they told me that the Predacons we're savage dangerous monsters that preyed on our ansesters and that they should stay extinct, refusing to let this go I decided to just do it off the books and out of the public eye so I took a sample of the skeleton and i took it to a long abandoned lab in Uraya where I started my work in cloning Emberblaze, it took a little while but the end result was worth it i successfully made a living functioning Predacon,of course i couldn't show off Emberblaze to the world so i kept him in that lab, for thousands of years while studying him,learning everything about him while at the same time befriending him, feeding him and keeping him safe."Brainstorm finished his long story.
The Dinobots didn't speak for a good long minute until Slug did but he said it in a disgusted tone "So you created a Predacon just so you can study it...of all the stupid..."
"What I want to know is: you had it locked up in your lab,so how did it escape did you let it out"Sludge asked "No it broken out by itself... which I should've seen coming,I kept it in captivity,I didn't let it see the outside world out of fear of someone seeing it, I didn't give it the opportunity to see what's outside the walls of the lab."
"Which was the absolute dumbest thing you could've done, so it's seeing all of that for the first time?"Swoop asked pointing out to the windshield that was giving them a view of the landscape outside. Brainstorm hung his head in shame as he spoke "I was a fool to think that he was happy in that lab, after all the time I spent visiting him and feeding him energon,until i stopped...this damn war it distracted me so much i spent so much time fighting decepticons that i just neglected him...he must've been starving down there, that must've been the reason he broke out to look for food."
"And that's why you shouldn't have pets."Swoop said snidely "So the Predacon busted out to find food?" Grimlock asked for clarification "that and to navigate this war torn world he once knew."Brainstorm added. Having heard enough Grimlock started to assess what to do, this has been an entirely new and completely different situation for him and his team, they spent years fighting Decepticons now a Predacon has been thrown into the fray the fact that they almost lost their lives from the Predacon tells Grimlock that this was completely out of their league.
But Grimlock wasn't going to quit so easily him and his team never during moments when it was smart to do so, this Predacon was a dangerous threat to the lives of the autobots that remains on Cybertron and Grimlock knew the only way to stop it was to have one final confrontation with it either it dies or they do.
"Listen up Dinobots because here's what we are going to do we're going to hunt this thing down and kill it."Grimlock said making the Dinobots and Brainstorm look at him but Brainstorm had a look of disagreement on his face. "Woah hold on a second I agree we need to go after him before he harms someone but we're not going to kill him."
Grimlock glared at him eyes briefly glowing Red "He's dangerous and uncontrollable." "Funny that's what some autobot said about you."Brainstorm retorted making Grimlock growl softly "Look I have a plan..."Brainstorm said as he walked over to the front of the ship and picked up a sniper rifle and brought it over to the Dinobots and then he pulled out a dart with a green liquid in it "This is a stasis dart it powerful enough to make Even Trypticon go into stasis for a year, one shot with this and Emberblaze will be out like a light long enough for me to get him onto this ship and get him off world." he explained.
"Off world where?"Slug asked "I discovered a planet not too far from Cybertron it was Cyberformed and was ready to be colonized but when the rust plague started it was abandoned, it's perfectly great place to put Emberblaze,all I need is one clear shot."
"What if this stasis dart of yours doesn't work?"Slug asked crossing his arms in scepticism"It'll work I have faith in my technology."Brainstorm said with confidence however neither one of the Dinobots was completely convinced as they recalled that as a small handfull of Brainstorm's new inventions have malfunctioned and failed in the past and theres no reason for them to assume that this one will work. "Sorry Brainstorm not taking that change it's going down."Grimlock said which made Brainstorm's eyes widened in surprise and anger as he quickly set down the sniper rifle and grabbed the blaster and pointed it at Grimlock earning surprised looks from the other Dinobots.
"No,you will not harm him!"Brainstorm roared Grimlock stared intensely at Brainstorm no one could tell but he was just as surprised as they were. "You have officially malfunctioned."Swoop said reaching for his blaster "No I'm perfectly functional, it is you guys that are malfunctioning, I'm appalled that you would condemn and murder an innocent life that's simply doing what it must to survive."
Hearing that made Slug growl "Innocent?!"he exclaimed then he transformed into Dino mode scaring Brainstorm then before he could react Slug knocked him down with his horns and stood over him snorting angerly "how dare you, it tried to kill us twice,that thing is dangerous it cannot co exist with us they would take over as the domanate species on Cybertron,we need to get rid of it!"he roared in fury. Although Brainstorm was a little unnerved by slug's Dino mode he retrieved his composure and spoke firmly.
"Then let me get it off the planet, please I have the upmost confidence that the stasis dart will work I just need the chance to prove it."Brainstorm begged looking between the Dinobots who then looked towards Grimlock for further instructions Grimlock crossed his arms staring at Brainstorm as he began thinking whether or not to give Brainstorm this chance but at the same time he did promise that he would be able to get Emberblaze off the planet and while some of his devices have failed some of them have seen success and are still currently being used in the war effort against the decepticons and Grimlock had decided to give the stasis dart a chance.
"Alright Brainstorm we'll try your little gadget,but if this goes sideways and your dart fails Emberblaze goes down."Grimlock said firmly as Slug backed away from Brainstorm and transformed back. Brainstorm slowly stood up looking at Slug still stunned by his Dino mode, "Ok so what's the plan here, do we even know how to find him or where he is?"Swoop asked looking between everyone.
"Well I don't exactly have a way to track him but I do know where he is, I put up a security feature around the lab that sends out a alert that tells me that either someone has entered and or exited the lab,it set out an alert when Emberblaze first escaped and it did the same thing when he last entered the premises and it hasn't made any noise yet so he's most likely still there,We can take this ship." Brainstorm explained making Grimlock nod in Affirmation.
"All right Dinobots let's move!"
