This episode makes some of the whole fans of Owl House dislike Gus, really changes my view.

Note VIII: Void in Hexside

Running through the hallway, going to a classroom is Gus who breathes heavily.

"I'm here... I'm here..." Gus said standing up and looking at the small group.

In the classroom is the Human Appreciation Club, with a total of four members; healing track Bo, potion track Elieen, bard track Fabian, and construction track Mattmolomule. Only seeing the last members showing all of them 'human' treasure.

"Looks who finally show up," Mattmolomule said looking at the president.

"Gus where have you been? You always show up first, heck being here early." Bo respond

Gus remembers training and being with the Batts. "I've...been busy."

"Of what, doing some research on humans...I show them how human culture does." Mattmolomule said shows his 'human' treasure.

Gus looks at the Mattmolomule's objects on the table, he looks deadpan. "These are fake."

Everyone gasped as Mattmolomule looked nervous but keep his cool. "Don't be ridiculous, I am-"

Gus only looks at the table. "A dear friend of mine says the human realm is way beyond ours. One, the shoe got many types, not one that is made out of grass and falls apart. Two, the phone just doesn't have numbers, it's a moving screen, plays games, and watches videos of tiny kittens (my favorite). And the third one, the skull..." He grabbed an egg and held it up with a glare. "Where's the boney structure? It can be open, it's similar to our skull...not one that is an EGG!"

Gus crushes the skull egg, letting it drip, making members look at Mattolomule who glares.

"Well if I am president, we don't have rules," Mattmolomule said to others agree.

"Okay...you wanna act 'human' around the school, think you acting like a weirdo and avoid you all cost. Touching something so expensive that pays off your snails? I want to share my interest with you guys, nothing more." Gus replied crossing his arms and looking away.

The others look at each with little guilt about making Gus feel that way, Mattmolomule sees this and trying thinking something else.

"Alright, how do you learn from this...and someone, who is it?" Mattmolomule asked

Gus turns to him. "Is not it...I say, human friend, Luz."

"Then why not show us, if not lying," Mattmolomule responds with a smirk.

"She banned Matt," Gus states glaring at him.

"What you too scared to show us, Porter?" Matt mocked

Gus shows anger as his eyes turn blue. "Don't push me..."

Bo quickly goes between them. "Okay, okay...let's all calm down."

Gus takes a deep breath, eyes turn back to normal, spoke. "You guys want to see her?"

"It is cool to see an actual human," Fabian said

"Yeah, I want to see anything is made of red liquid," Eileen said

Gus looks down and sighs. "Meet me tomorrow in the backyard when lunch starts..."

"Why here, don't want to get-" Matt said stopping by Bo's glare.

Gus walked out and spoke. "I don't want her to get hurt."

Gus walked out until the satchel glows again, he goes to his locker, opens his book, and passes out result hitting the back of his locker.

Gus is now in the mountain and sees an energy figure carrying loads of goods on his back, as writing appears in front of him.

"For everything you gain, you lose something else,"

Gus sees the figure untie the goods, letting them fall while keeps climbing until he reaches the top. "Lose something, what...no way...I not gonna lose my friendship with Luz!"

He walked away only to fall off the cliff. "Ahhhh!"

Gus came back to his senses, he look at the book. 'It's just a quick meeting nothing more okay!'

He got up and walked away from the hallway passing by a female student who fixed herself. Then sees something in her mirror, quickly turns around sees a dark creepy hand grabbing her pitch-black.

After the whole day of school, Gus travels the sky with his disc, going through the forest land near the ground of the Owl House.

Gus places his disc back on his satchel, he goes to the door. "Hi Hooty, here to see Luz."

"Hoot Hoot, roger. We got a visit!" Hooty shouts opening the door.

Gus got in to see loads of stuff, all over the place. "This is like a bizarre junk pile."

"Tell me about it!" Luz shouts about who came out of the junk. "When you ever clean this stuff, Eda?"

"I do, just forget sometimes," Eda said seeing whole things floating in midair. "Huh? Oh yeah, he controls everything."

Gus simply places all the boxes in order and stuffs inside nice and decent. "There...nice and orderly."

"Thanks, Gus, why are you here anyway?" Luz asked

"I got late to my club, little argument, kinda asked you come to Hexside backgrounds show them you are real," Gus answered looking at her.

"Why wanna go to that place, it's full of snobs and a complete dweebus factory, no offense." Eda laughed

"This dweebus just saved you with others' help from weird creepy ghost guy of doing who knows what to you and the girls, and stop those mess-up pet owners who might turn you to a dead statue in King's body." Gus pointed out while his arms crossed.

"Ah, pointed out my weakness...touche," Eda commented with a smirk.

"Eda, I am really grateful for what you did...But I wanna do real magic, and it's taught in Hexside." Luz said circling around Gus.

"I was taught lightning magic on my own and help with you guys," Gus whispered

Luz places her hand on his mouth. "Not helping Gus,"

"I don't wanna hear about Hexside unless it's on fire...front rows seats," Eda said as she walked out, and slam the door.

"Oh, maybe it's a chance to rub it in!" King chuckled as he walked out also.

"Argh..." Luz groans sitting on the couch.

Gus saddens Luz, he gets a serious look. "Luz, maybe I can talk to Principle Bump...getting you to Hexside."

Luz look at him. "Really?"

"Least I can do, you help Willow and me from time to time, now I can help you get in," Gus said with a smile.

Luz hugged Gus tightly. "Oh thank you, Gus, how can I repay you?!"

"How about showing the members your real and stop breaking me in half?" Gus asked in pain

Luz let go of Gus who drop to the ground. "Deal."

"Argh...my...head...what?"

Open up her eyes, and sees a rocky and overgrown vine all over. Seeing loads of black spheres looks deeper realized its students inside.

"These are students inside." The spoke happens to be Willow.

"Oh, you finally woke up half of witch Willow."

Willow sees to her right. "Boscha?"

Yup, Boscha who is also in a blackness bubble arm crosses and is annoyed. She is not alone, it's also Amelia, Cat, and even Skara in bubbles, scared. Like half of the whole Hexside students in this place, even the teachers.

"What's going on, where are we?" Willow asked wondering what is this place.

"We wake up like this...same question what you say," Amelia answered

"I hope someone saves us soon, I'm feeling...down for some reason," Cat said feeling drowsy.

"Yeah...like gonna sleep," Skara responds trying to stay up.

"Don't close your eyes," Willow said spotting a dark blue shell leaking out darkness. 'Is one those of detention shells kept troublemaking students, but why is this one leaking out...that?'

Gus made it to Hexside, it strange is that is a little too quiet, seeing a few students coming on. 'What's going on here?' He got inside only to see Lilith inside. "Mrs. Clawthorne?"

Lilith turns to see Gus. "Ah it's you, the boy who has the sparks powers,"

"It's lightning, why are you here in Hexside anyway?" Gus asked

"Hearing rumors of students disappearing throughout the school, send me here to find out the truth of its disappearing...it's best you to stay in your classroom until lunchtime and then leave."

Gus sees her walk away, looks down gets worried, and Willow is likely one of the missing students since don't see her when he comes to the school ground. 'Once goes to Luz, we search for Willow.'

Going to her locker happens to be Amity, who is busy keeping reading the book Luz gives her, really loving every minute of it. 'Oh my, who's Malingale?'

"You going to do what?!"

Amity sees her twin brother and sister, Emira is shocked while Edric simply closes his locker while speaking seriously.

"By next semester alright, I wanna learn more than now...be a Beast Keeper," Edric respond

"We doing Illusion Magic since we picked it, you can't just quit joining a different class," Emira said

Amity goes to them. "What you guys talking about?"

"Ed is thinking of changing classrooms," Emira said

Amity alarmed. "What?! Edric, you can't just change class...what will mom-?"

"Who do nothing at all, only focusing on you Amity, I just wanna know what kind of magic I have," Edric said seeing something, a shadowing object behind them. "LOOK OUT!"

They turn to see a shadow hand grab them and everything turns black.

Back in the Owl House, Eda seems to think what Luz says.

"Come on what's so good about school, I mean she does learn more about wild magic on her own and getting stronger," Eda said to Hooty who was busy trying to get flies.

"I chew insects, turning into munch!" Hooty said grabbing one of the bugs.

"I just trying to protect her, even though that school is likely confused," Eda replied

"I am always confused," Hooty mumbled

Eda smirks. "You just disturbed one to talk."

"Well bright side, I learn a lot from you, and look what I turn up." Hooty state shows munch fly.

Eds looked disturbed. "I gotta get that kid into that school."

Finished with lunch, Human Appreciation Club walked back to the school near the forest. They see Gus near a tree, he looks at them and then turns to Luz who came out dramatically.

"Behold the human Luz Noceda!" Luz introduce

"Whoa, an actual human!" Bo shouts looking at Luz.

"It's true, the rounding ears," Fabian said

Mattmolomule was completely shocked. "No, she cants be real..."

"I think terms of...told you so..." Gus said with a smirk.

Mattmolomule glares until he makes a hidden smile. 'Well she's banned, maybe you get long-troubled detention.' Pull out his scroll.

Suddenly all of them feel a rumbling until a blackness creepy hand came out of the ground.

"What is that?!" Fabian question

"I don't know but one thing for sure it wants us!" Gus said dodging a hand grab.

Bo and Fabian tried to run away but the hands got to them and gets consumed in the dark hole. Mattmolomule tried to make a wall but the hands only broke through the wall, grabbing the construction student, and dragging him in while he screamed like a girl. The hands went after Luz who grabbed one of her cards, and she created a light glyph that causes her hands to screech in pain. Gus sees this, he rushes toward her and makes his static electricity towards light make it bigger, causing hands to disappear and so the black hole.

"What was that and where were they taking them?" Luz asked

"Must be a secured place, anywhere that no one will notice," Gus said

"That takes forever, we need to search from the top to bottom," Luz said

Gus lookup. "Wait Luz, what did you say in the last part?"

"From top to bottom," Luz answered

"Of course Luz, come on," Gus said looking at the smile. "...time save the others and I know where to go."

Eda carried sack loads of junk while covered in purple goop. 'Cleaning your mess is loads of...no, keep it together, do it for Luz."

"Edalyn?"

Eda turns and spots her sister "Lily? What are you doing here!?"

"I should be asking you the same thing myself." Lilith responded, "But I have no time for you, right now I'm investigating around this school-"

But then a black hand manages to grab Lilith from behind. "Aah!" She screamed as she is brought down.

"Lily!" Eda shouts by surprise, but is also grabbed from behind this time by her leg "Crap!" She cursed before getting dragged down.

Both of them get dragged inside the hole as it disappears.

"Hee-Yaa!"

Watching digging through the tunnel is Luz who holding her light glyph, the one who digging is Gus who takes a breather. He held down his hand...charging up, while gripping the wrist, charging up the lightning again forming a small electric sphere but hearing a buzzing noise. Once Gus is fully charged, he smashes through the wall, digging through it again.

"Gus...have you been reading Ninjato?" Luz asked with an eye raised.

"Yeah, it's a good series...even I got a skill that suits me," Gus said digging once again until felt a crack. "Made it..."

Luz looks around, looking at her friend. "How...long have you been digging?"

Gus opens wider for an entrance while speaking. "Since fifth grade,"

With one full blast, the hole was clear, both of them got in, and seeing a large cavern with loads of veins, shocked them. All half of the Hexside students in the blackness bubble are weak and drained.

Oh my gosh, look at them." Gus said in worried.

"All they look weak-" Luz said interrupted by two familiar voices.

"NohohohohohoAhahahahahahaha!"

"Nohohohohohot agagagagagagain!"

"What was that?" Gus asked seeing Luz block him.

"Nothing! Just gets those students out of there, I can go over there!" Luz shouts and starts running toward the voices.

She ran down until she finds the source. She hide from behind a black orb and saw what made her blush.

"AHAAHAHHAHAHAHA CUHUHUHUT IT OHOHOHOHOUT!" Eda laughs while the black hands keep tickling her underarms, ribs, hips, legs, and feet after her boots were taken off by the hands. Her own hands were restrained by the black hand above her.

"PLEHEHEHEEHEHEASE STAHAHAHAHAP!" Lilith laughs while being wrapped around the dark rope, while her dress is lifted up showing her legs, and boots were taken off as her feet and thighs get tickled. She can also feel her behind getting spanked.

"Okay, now I need to save them. Hopefully, Lilith doesn't arrest us after." Luz whispered to herself, "But how? I can only do a light spell." she then noticed the owl and raven staffs that were dropped on the ground, "Oh that could be useful."

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA IHIHIIHIHIHI HAHAHAHAHATE THIHIHIHIS EHEHEHEHEHEHEDA!" Lilith cries shaking her head, trying to get out.

Eda glares at this, not tickled, or embarrassed, it's her sister getting scared right now, one thing that won't forget...mess with her family. "WHOHOHOHOHOEVER BEHEHEHEHEIND THIHIHIHIHIHIS WILILILILILL PAHAHAHAHAY!"

"Eda, Lilith! Catch"

They look and see Luz holding their staff, with one quick action they grabbed their staff and summon light magic that makes darkness disappear. Both of them fall, land ground in a quick float spell, and they both breathe heavily.

Eda, look at Lilith with worried. "Lily...you...okay?"

Lilith only nodded her head. "Hmmhmm..."

Luz grabbed their boots and bring them. "Kay, you put on your boots, and let's go home."

"Got you...got you...you're free."

They see Gus coming in freeing each student just a blast until he spots ones up top. He focused and begin to blast them, revealing them.

First are Amity, Edric, and Emira, make them float. "You guys alright?"

"Yeah aside from Edric whining," Amity said

Edric muttered while laughing. "You don't have told them that."

Gus shoots as sees Boscha, and catches her with his lightning. "You ok-"

"Put me down, Porter!" Boscha shouts

Gus glared as if to drop her on the ground. "You're welcome."

Gus shoots another orb, revealing Willow, and he makes her float. "Oh, I'm glad, alright."

"Thanks, Gus, getting handy of your powers," Willow said with a weak smile.

"Yeah, bet I capture one with float," Gus said going to the last one.

Gus blast the orb and releases it to Skara who faces first the both, lands...Skara opens her eyes and sees Gus with a dizzy look.

"You...alright..." Gus said while dizzy.

Skara got off while slumping due to weak. "Fine...don't...you...say...a...thing."

Luz spoke as Eda and Lilith put on their boots. "Now everyone is free... let's get out of here."

Suddenly bursting out of the darkness is a blue shell, opening up like a butterfly but in a slimy creepy way. Coming out of his who simply made out total darkness, his hair moving like a fire, his eyes having pure white blank. His height is tall in same as Eda and Lilith's due to being an adult. He moves his head as it makes a crack noise and does in another way hear a crack, moving so he stretches, he speaks with no mouth in a void tone. "Huh? After all these years I am back from long-term detention."

Eda and Lilith are shocked to see, Eda glares. "Void."

Everyone turns to Owl Lady as Luz spoke. "You know him?"

"More like almost victim of running Hexside like his own turf causes loads illegal magic and students in his bidding," Lilith said

Void spots the students, especially Eda and Lilith. "Well, well, well, it's the ones who free me from my prison. Especially you two Clawthorne, giving me your magic, and the fun.

"You such a perv-" Lilith said slumping down still feeling drained.

"Sorry, but all of you are still weak due to being a drain...now be a good girl and come with me." Void said to take one step forward.

Everyone gets scared until a lightning blast hits the sky causing blind Void, Gus steps in front with electricity through his hands.

"Luz, take everyone to the tunnel!" Gus shouts looking at her.

"Are you nuts?! You can't beat him!" Luz shouts

"I keep him busy, Eda and Ms. Lilith even whole students are a drain...I trusted you to bring them to safety, and you gotta trust me, please!" Gus said

Luz looks at Eda who looks weak, she holds on to her and then looks at Gus. "You better come back and safe, Willow, can you carry Lilith?"

"I don't have to use magic on carrying," Willow said looking at Lilith. "Sorry, Ms. Clawthorne."

"Young lady, I don't know-OOF!" Lilith said getting lifted and placing her on Willow's shoulder. 'My Titan, how she got so strong.'

Everyone begins to leave the cavern, Void beginning to get his vision back sees only Gus with electricity.

"You got nerves kid," Void sees Gus and glares. "With that hairstyle and looked, your Perry's kid..."

"Augustus Porter, how's know your dad?" Gus asked

Void chuckled. "Simple, I used to be his bullying...still remember the stuff in the locker with a badger."

Gus gets angry and explains the blue eyes. "That explains the scar on the back of his neck!"

Void is surprised by the eyes and then gets angry. "I see, so they tie the notch...I told that little dweeb stays away from her."

Gus gets a little confused. "What are you talking about?"

"Your old man just married my girl, told him thousands of times she is not into some dweeb like him...I can't wait to pay him a little visit." Void said

Gus tightens his fists as more sparks come out of him. "YOU NOT TOUCHING MY DAD!"

Gus shoots out lightning at Void who disappears, the lightning hits the wall. The void appears in Gus's surprise until sees Void charging at him while transformed into a large hand, the boy quickly forms a large static sphere to protect himself but is only grabbed by the large hand. Gus gets hit all over the wall, making him feel sick to his stomach until spots Void's eyes in the palm of the large hand.

"Got the power but don't have the skill. Let's take this outside." Void said

Outside in the forest, every student that got captured lay on the grass to catch their breath while Luz counted.

Willow placed Lilith on the tree. "Everyone is counter for."

Luz puts Eda who snoring due to sleep. "Yeah, just worried about Gus handling that shadow guy..."

*BOOM*

Everyone turns to see a large hand stretching into the sky, they keep watching all except Skara who sees a sachel near the ground.

"What the?" Skara question

Void stop that touches the clouds, he glares. "Let's see your old man like his son all over the rooftop of Hexside.

"You wouldn't DAAAARRREEE!" Gus screams as he drops, falling.

Everyone looks in panic at the same time Skara held up the satchel. "Who bag is this?"

Luz sees the bag. "Thank god," she grabbed it. "Eda needs some help here."

Gus screaming sees himself falling at a fast speed until heard a voice from Eda.

"DWEEBUS!"

The boy looks down and sees a twinkle, then the twinkle reveals it to be his disc, making his sphere disappear. In quick thinking uses his electricity to connect to his disc to make it open, and place it on his feet.

Gus wipes off his nervous sweat. "Whoa, that was close."

Gus felt a shadow above him, he looks up sees Void dive down forming himself into a blade. Gus quickly dodges him, and begins to dodge loads of attacks from Void, he begins to think about how to beat him until gets an idea...gross but can work.

"Come on Void, you can't bite me when having the chance!" Gus teased

Void glares then shouts. "I can more than bite!"

Void transforms into a dark dragon and chomps Gus whole, causing everyone to be shocked to see what happens.

Gus seems floating in darkness and sees Void's eyes appear to speak. "Be prepared 'cause I will swallow you whole, and spit out your bones."

Gus only smiles. "Just what I was hoping for."

Void lift of one eye makes the confused look. "Wha?"

"I see your weakness, you can't stand light...best attack is not from the outside..." Gus said creating his electricity. "Is it the inside?"

Void panicked sees Gus create a blue orb and begin to expand it, larger, larger, bigger than ever created. "ARGHHHHH!"

Outside the dragon is screeching, lights beam coming, many of them until the dragon explosive in bright light. Everyone covered their eyes due to the light, the light dies as sees Gus on the knees on his board breathing heavily. He went down slowly to the entrance of the school, lands, and sees the students cheering as Luz and Willow go to him.

"Amazing Gus! You beat him!" Luz shout

"Good thinking of going him but little bit much," Willow said

"Thanks, but man...it takes a lot out of me," Gus said

"What's the meaning of this?"

They see Principal Bump coming down the stairs with a questioning look, Lilith who finally got back to her feet goes in front of him speaks in her superior tone

"Principal Bump, it seems our ex-classmate Void Shadenight has been responsible for kidnapping the students that are behind me. It seems he trying to use our magic for sending him free and seem Mr. Porter defeated him." Lilith said

Bump grimaced and forgot about that. "Void, I should have freed him but busy working with the paperwork." He turns to Eda. "Owl Lady, you didn't finish up the mess you made, no choice but to let her in."

"Come on, I was captured too!" Eda said lifting her hands in the air.

Gus then sees what happened here, he looks at this and hears the lesson in his head.

"For everything you gain, you lose something else,"

Gus comes to the front, and he spoke. "Wait Principle Bump, my friend Luz really wanna come here...I wanna exchange something so she is a student here."

"Young man, there's no bribe me." Bump said looking at him.

"There's no bribe sir, I...redesign of President of Human Appreciation Club," Gus said as he pulled out his president crown from his satchel.

Everyone was surprised of Gus did that, he started the club and he simply just do that for one person he know.

"Here Matt, you wanna be president... it's all yours," Gus said simply throwing at construction students.

The crow landed on Mattmolomule's head who still laying on the ground, still weak due to the drain. "Yeaah~"

Gus look at him with a begged look. "Principle Bump, it's Hexside about accepting those who really wanna learn magic? Luz is exactly the girl wanna learn...please."

Bump sighs. "Very well...Lilith says you defeated Void?"

"Yes, Principle Bump," Gus nodded

"I wanna more of that magic, be sure to be ready as same that Luz in the Entrance Exam. Eda, time to fill out the paper works." Bump asked walking inside. "Students, wait for your healers to help you from the draining process, and parents to arrive to bring you home."

Eda walked. "More to do here, you better enjoy this place kid." Sees her sister look at her. "I'm glad your safe Lily, you and I don't have the energy to battle...next time."

Lilith nodded, and simply hops on her staff. "Next time." she flies away.

Gus walked to the grass and landed there as Luz and Willow sit between Gus.

"That's great of you to do that," Willow said with a smile.

"Gus, why? You bring me to show them I'm real and keep you in the president's place," Luz said looking at him. "You made that club."

"You wanna come here, like dying to come here...I wanna repay what after did to Willow, Amity, and even me. I hope you bring more excitement to this school." Gus said to her with a smile.

Luz smiled and hugged his shoulder. "Thanks for that."

"Besides, I got cooler club here!" Gus said hugging the girls by the shoulders as they laugh.

In a run-down place full of junk all over, a black hole appears to be Void who takes a breath.

Looking at the broken glass. "Look good in my 40s, gonna get those punks back...first need a gang."

In the Porter household, Gus wearing the Hexside school Grudby clothes, held up the flags. "Whoo-Ohh...I'm ready!"

Perry walks to the door, hearing the knocking. "I hope you enjoy your time..." He opens the door, surprised by what he sees. "Oh...can I help you?"

Standing at the door is Lilith. "Hello, Mr. Porter...I am dropping your son at school and having a talk."

That's the ending gang, wonder how much changed the character...Magic change people either for better or worst. Gus changes into a headstrong, a little stubborn, backbone, always putting those ahead instead think of himself.

I wanna say off my chest in an honest way.

Mad at certain one entire season 1 because of moments of episodes, let's remind that Gus is only 12 years old, a kid, a CHILD! Skip through grades being a gifted kid, he is surrounded by whole TEENAGERS who take advantage of him. Lucky has Luz, Willow, etc to protect him. I related to Gus of 'friends' in middle school, helping and having fun but only talking behind his back...Gus is like all of us who are used to you, that saying something.

My OC; Void Shadenight, is a person who is born pure darkness and controls everything in the shadow, transforming his body parts even his whole body into something he wants.
