Taking his place at the podium in front, a bland looking man begins speaking, "Now then, you're all third years now, so it's time you started thinking seriously about your futures. Ordinarily I might pass out these job interest forms but," he tosses the papers into the air, "You're all just gonna go for the Hero track, right?"
The classroom explodes into cheers as students begin firing off their Quirks at will.
The teacher chuckles, "Yes, yes, you all have such wonderful Quirks! But you're not allowed to use them in school."
A scoff echoes through the room, "Oh please teach, as if those losers are even in the same category as us! They'll all be lucky to end up as sidekicks to some busted D-Lister!"
Several students start booing or shouting at Bakugou to stop being so arrogant, but they quiet as a chain darts through the air and lightly impacts Bakugou on the back of the neck before disappearing.
Turning to the source, everyone finds them lightly smiling before they speak, "Katsuki, you shouldn't talk down to others like that."
Before Bakugou can respond, the teacher speaks while shuffling through their papers, "Ah, Bakugou and Midoriya, you two are aiming for UA, right?"
Hushed whispers run through the crowd of students, "The national school? Doesn't it have like a 0.2% acceptance rate?"
Bakugou cackles, "Of course! That's why it's perfect for us, seeing as we're the best of the best!"
They give a small sigh, wishing that the other students would stop saying things that encouraged the blonde's ego. Over the years, they'd made quite the effort to take Katsuki from bully to model Hero, and it's not being made any easier by those who surround the blonde boy.
They add their own thoughts, "We're going because we simply believe it to be the best option. Frankly, all of you would try your hand with it as well if your had more confidence in yourselves."
Katsuki's eyes narrow, "Izu, do you seriously think they could compete on the same stage as us?"
They nod, "Perhaps with the proper amounts of hard work and dedication, but I do have to wonder if they're willing to work themselves to the bone? Are they willing to bleed for it? To truly push yourself to the top of the field you must be prepared to lose both life and limb, and I find myself quite curious as to whether they would go that far."
Several of the students look away from them, most likely acknowledging that they would not be able to push themselves that far. That's alright, it's better for them to realize the constraints of their will now rather than be killed for a moment of hesitation in the future.
With a dissatisfied grumble, Katsuki turns around and the school day continues as normal.
(After School, Dagobah Beach)
They smile at Katsuki, "So, Kacchan, I assume you want me to use my new ability?"
The boy in question smirks viciously, competitive spirit blazing, "Of course! I know you've been holding back lately, and it's pissing me off! I won't get better if you don't make it challenging! Give me your all! Make me struggle for the win!"
They let out a fond sigh and shake their head slightly, "Very well then, I'll fight as hard as I can without getting us arrested. After that, we clear away more of the junk."
Katsuki scoffs, "Damn right we will. I can't stand the old man's moaning about how pretty this place used to be, so it's about time I did something to shut him up!"
Katsuki cares, he really does. However, his personality and the ego he's managed to develop despite their influence make it difficult for him to articulate his emotions without some form of threat, insult, swear, or combination of the three. Usually with yelling.
Assuming a ready position, they lock eyes with Katsuki and wait. For all of a second. Katsuki is well used to this habit and is ready right as they are on him. He attempts to blast them away, but the explosion is swiftly dodged as they bring their right hand up, fist full of clay.
They clay quickly begins to shift and morph, becoming an ornate axe mere moments before the blade slams into Katsuki's chest, sending him tumbling back. The axe is blunt, due to the engagement only being a spar, but it's quite hefty, and had been swung with a decent fraction of their true strength.
Katsuki quickly rights himself in the air, landing on his feet and blasting towards them. They fall into a crouch as he sails over them, chains materializing to ensnare him and hurl him into the sand. As Katsuki struggles with the chain that can bind gods, they craft their arm into an axe, embedding it in the sand next to the boy's neck.
They give a small smile, "Do you yield?"
Katsuki grumbles for a moment before letting out a begrudging, "Yes."
With a light laugh, they free Katsuki and let him up, turning to the piles of garbage on the beach, "Very well, why don't we resume cleaning?"
Frankly, they would have done it all themselves in a single day, but laws complicate the matter, Katsuki also insists on helping, so they may as well humor him.
